Severus' POV

I can't believe Wormtail just told the location to the Dark Lord.
I thought Black was the Secret Keeper.
I begged Dumbledore to save her, but he was pointless.
I finally apparated to Godric's Hollow just in time to witness a flash of green light peeking out of the window of a cottage.
It can't be...

I entered the cottage with the door being barged down, and the first I saw is Potter lying lifeless on the floor.
I then head upstairs, only to hear the cries of an infant...
Potter's infant.
I couldn't move.

I reached the nursery, and what I found made my heart dropped.
In the room, there was Lily...
On the floor...
Cold...
And Lifeless...
It's... too late.
I failed.
I failed to save her.
Kneeling down, I embraced her cold body as tears pricked from my eyes.
I failed...
And I'm at loss...
"Oh, Lily... my love... I'm so sorry... I failed you."
This is too overwhelming.
I can't stand this.
With one last kiss on her head, I gently put her down, eyeing her for one last time.
Just as I was about to leave, I felt like someone is pulling me to stop.
I couldn't move.
I've just... stopped.
I slowly turned around to find the source, and what I found is a crying infant staring their grey eyes at me.
Wait.
Grey eyes?
Like... mine?
I... am speechless.
After all this time...
It was her all along...
Rose.
I quickly picked her up, and she soon calms down on my shoulder.
I checked to see if she has any injuries, and what I find is a bleeding scar in the form of a lightning bolt.
That must be where the Dark Lord marked him.
But, where is he?
Before I could think further, I heard someone coming from outside.
We had to get out of here.
I checked on Rose one last time, and then we apparated to a safe distance.
Hiding behind a wall of a house, I peek behind to find Hagrid entering the scene.
He's looking for Harry Potter.
I looked back at Rose who is staring at me curiously, and I gave her a reassurance.
"Don't worry, Rose. I'll make sure no one is gonna take you away. Daddy promises you."
With all of those words, she hugs me tightly, and I gave her comfort.
And with that, we disapparated from Godric's Hollow.
