Severus' POV

Tears overflow my eyes again upon heading the wills.

Lily left everything for Rose.

It took me a moment to realize that I was crying when Rose touched my wet face.

She is worried about me.

"It's alright, dear," I reassure her.

"I'm okay."

She began tilting her head at me, and then proceeded to scratch her forehead where the recent scar now resides.

I tried to stop her, but she kept persistent.

"Do you have an active healer available?" I asked the account manager who replied with a grunt turning towards another goblin.

"Bring in Healer Tonks."

"Well, I'm not gonna lie. The Dark Lord did leave a literal mark," Andromeda Tonks said with a frown after casting a diagnostic charm on Rose who is sitting on a couch.

"It seems that little Rose here had become his Horcrux."

I heard Lucia gasped.

"Horcrux?" I asked, worried about my daughter.

"It's by far the most terrible Dark Magic," Lucia explained.

"Founded by Herpo the Foul of Ancient Greece, it's an object in which a wizard or witch had hidden a detached fragment of his or her soul in order to become immortal. As long as the receptacle remained intact, so too did the soul fragment inside it, keeping the maker anchored to the world of the living, even if their body suffered fatal damage."

She then turned towards me.

"In order to create one, however, the maker must commit murder as a means to tear the soul."

Pondering this information, I think I understand the meaning.

"So, the Dark Lord planned to get rid of the chosen child, but was backfired, and now Rose became a Horcrux after he killed Potter and Lily."

"Which would make sense," Andromeda commented while comforting Rose.

"Where did you learn about it anyway, Lucia?" I asked her.

"Lucius handed me a journal from our father's vault before I ran away. It contains Dark Magic. Only James' parents knew about it, and hid it from him. After some research, I learned what that magic is."

She then turned to the account manager.

"Is Gringotts available to perform the cleansing ritual, Ironclaw?"

"We can do that. Dark Magic is not welcome to this bank," the account manager replied.

Suddenly, we heard Rose making a noise.

I quickly turned to her to see that she was agitated.

I kneeled before her.

"Don't worry, Rose. We will help you get rid of the pain."

She looks at me, and now her hands are on my face.

I carefully picked her up as her arms wrapped around me for an embrace.

"It's okay... Daddy's here... Daddy's here..."

"I think we should be ready," I heard Lucia say.

"Agreed," replied Ironclaw.
