Prompt: "How long have you been standing there?"
"Longer than you'd like."
She was really attempting to not laugh at Alec's current predicament. Really, Nate knew that he was not a fan of faking a miracle, yet had still put the hacker in charge of that part of the con. At least the hacker had had enough sense to remember to ask her to help make the fake statues, otherwise he'd really have been screwed.
Hearing movement coming from the tech room, Pru smirked and got up from her desk to see what was going on. As she leaned against the door frame, she saw Alec next to Nate and Eliot, getting ready to explain. "Behold! Pru and I have made the statues multiply."
Nate looked impressed. "Well, I got to say, it looks pretty good. It's, uhh…" He then decided to rap one of the statues on the head causing it to rock slightly. Nate looked slightly disappointed as he looked back at the hacker. "Polystyrene?"
"Amongst other things. Don't eat it, or breathe near it."
Pru barely held in a snort of laughter as both Nate and Eliot quickly backed away at the hacker's statement. The mastermind cleared his throat. "Alright. Show us what you got."
"Test subject number one." Pru's eyes widened slightly at the red paint now dripping from St. Nick's ears.
"Yeah, no. I said bleeding tears, not bleeding ears."
"Look, man. You're lucky that, on this dead line, I didn't give you a baking soda volcano."
Pru sighed and shook her head. She had an idea for what to do to the real statue, but Alec had insisted on coming up with ideas on his own. She closed her eyes and shook her head again before she heard, "I've been practicing. Check me out." Pru quickly opened her eyes to see Alec taking aim with a paintball gun and missing the statue entirely.
Nate sighed, exhausted. "Okay, Hardison, would you just make the statue cry without melting St. Nick's head."
Parker chimed in from where she was standing on the other side of the glass window. "Don't melt Santa."
Nate walked away, shaking his head, as Eliot and Alec began to banter back and forth. The mastermind paused by Pru on his way out. "Help him please."
Pru nodded and made her way over to the boys. "Eliot, could you please go and find something to do while I help Alec?"
The hitter nodded and left. Alec sheepishly smiled at the team's practically manager. "How long have you been standing there?"
Pru sighed. "Longer than you'd like. Do you want to hear my idea now?"
"As long as it's not too complicated."
"It's just basic chemistry. There's an oil polymer and another chemical that we can use. Come on."
