Time: 3:13 P.M.

Ram pulled on Nepgear's arm while Rom pulled on Uni's. The twins guided the purple and black candidates to a gigantic contraption. Nepgear and Uni both turned pale as the metal rails went up and down, loops and swirls as the tiny open cars filled with passengers, screaming, zip past them.

"Let's ride that!" Ram pointed. "The line isn't long, come on!"

"I-It looks so much fun," Rom happily voiced.

The twins giggled as they waited at the end of the line. Nepgear and Uni stood frozen as they stared at the contraption.

"I-It can't be that bad…" Uni nervously said as she turned to Nepgear.

The purple-haired girl only looked at Uni with fear in her eyes as she forced out a smile. "Y-Yeah… you're right, Uni. I-It can't be that bad…"

"Come on you two!" Ram screamed at them.

Uni and Nepgear both took deep breaths and walked into the line to wait for their turn. Rom and Ram squirmed with excitement while Uni and Nepgear quivered with anxiety. When it was their turn, the four younger CPUs sat in the carts and were locked in place with the other passengers.

When everything was set, the ride began to take off. Rom and Ram cheered with joy, however, Uni and Nepgear, remained silent, trying to keep their sanity.

You're gonna be fine. You're gonna be fine, Uni kept thinking to herself. You're a goddess, Uni. You're smart, you're brave, you're invincible, you'll be fine…

"Uni…"

Uni turned to face Nepgear when she whimpered her name. "W-What's wrong, Nepgear?"

"Should we have waited instead of riding it with Rom and Ram?"

Now that Uni thought about it, they could've done that, but there's no going back. Uni and Nepgear turned their heads back to the front and felt their chest pound as the ride ascended up its first hill.

Uni's heart rate began to increase and her breathing quickened. Crap! Nope, nope, nope! I'm not gonna be fine!I'm not gonna be fine! She began to tell herself as the ride began to descend downward, increasing speed with each passing second.

Uni and Nepgear screamed in terror as Rom and Ram cheered with their arms above their heads. The ride went up and down, then it twirled around, going upside down. As the ride finally ended, the twins happily skipped out of the contraption, but Uni and Nepgear sluggishly moved their way out, trying to get their footing.

Nepgear hunched over a bit as she held her onto her stomach. "I-I don't feel so well…"

Uni felt the same as she covered her mouth, trying to keep her lunch down. "I feel like… puking…"

"Same…" Nepgear whimpered out.

"We fly at top speed in our HDD, even faster than that damn rollercoaster, so how come we feel like this?" Uni annoyingly questioned.

"Maybe…" Nepgear groaned a bit. "Maybe it's a different experience?"

Uni took in a deep breath and was able to calm her insides. She stood up straight and looked around, unable to see the twins. "Oh no… Where did Rom and Ram go?"

"Huh? Aren't they over-" Nepgear stopped herself when she didn't see Rom or Ram anywhere. "That's weird… they were here a minute ago…"

"Crap… We need to find them…"

Uni and Nepgear walked through the crowd of people, hoping to find the twins, but they were nowhere in sight. Nepgear suddenly caught sight of a pink winter coat.

"I think I saw Ram!" Nepgear announced as she tried to make her way over to one of the twins.

"Wait! Hold on!" Uni reached and grabbed onto Nepgear's wrist, but then some people walked by and knocked into the black candidate. Uni yelped as she tripped over and fell onto Nepgear. "Sorry, Nepgear!"

Uni pushed off the ground and blushed at the position they were in. Nepgear was on the ground with her hair spread out and Uni was straddling her hips while her hand was on both sides of Nepgear's head. The Purple candidate's face was flushed red by their close proximity.

Uni scrambled to get up. Her body felt hot and her heart was beating so fast that it began to hurt. "I'm so sorry, Nepgear! I didn't mean to fall on you."

Nepgear stood up and dusted her knees before reassuring her friend. "It's okay, Uni. I'm fine, are you hurt?"

Uni shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for asking…"

"A-Anyway, I think I saw Ram go that way." Nepgear pointed to the open space with fewer people.

"Lead the way," Uni said.

Nepgear blushed and hesitantly took Uni's hand, setting the other girl's chest into a frenzy. The purple goddess led Uni through the crowd toward the area where she last saw Ram. They came to a semi-empty playground with swings and slides.

They immediately found the twins. They were collecting golden coins floating above the ground. Both Uni and Nepgear sighed with relief that they had found them.

"Uni, Nepgear!" Ram called out. "Where were you?! You missed all the coins, look how much we collected!"

Uni angrily growled, "Tell us where you're going next time! I honestly thought we lost you!"

Ram only giggled as she ran towards Rom. Uni huffed in irritation and sat down at a nearby bench with her arms crossed. "Really, kids these days…"

Nepgear sat down next to Uni and giggled, "You sound like an old lady."

"Hey!"

Nepgear snickered, "I'm joking."

Uni sighed and watched the twins trying to reach for a golden coin on top of the slide. The Black candidate glanced over to the girl on her right. She couldn't help but admire her. The beautiful smile she fell in love with and the sparkle in her eyes made her feel alive. And those soft-looking lips, how much she wished to kiss them.

Nepgear looks so beautiful…

Uni quickly forced her eyes away before she was caught staring. She could feel her cheeks warming up. She has it bad and doesn't know how much longer she could hold back her feelings. Should I… do it now? Should I just confess? There's no one here and the twins aren't nearby… But, would I really risk our friendship?

Uni couldn't bear the thought of not having Nepgear in her life. She was her best and first-ever friend. Could she really risk it for… love?

Glancing back at Nepgear, she felt her heart sing. Every time she was near the purple girl, her body would come alive and dance. She'd do anything for the girl. If Nepgear asked to have some space, then Uni would gladly give it to her. She wanted to get this off her chest. Nepgear was too kind and wouldn't cut their bond just because Uni told her how she felt… Would she?

Uni took a deep breath and took a leap of faith. "H-Hey, Nepgear?"

Nepgear turned to look at her friend with a big smile on her face. "Yes, Uni?"

"W-What would you do if I said I want to be more than just friends?"

Nepgear gave Uni a confused look. "We are more than friends. We're best friends!"

Uni smiled at Nepgear's cuteness. "No Nepgear, I meant… more than best friends…"

"More than best friends?"

Here goes nothing… Uni inhaled and exhaled and said, "We've known each other for a long time and we hung out a lot. You've helped me so many times and I don't know what I'd do if you were to leave me. What I'm saying is… I need you in my life, Nepgear." Uni could feel her face burn. Her heart was painfully beating in her chest as she tried to get her feelings across. "I want to always be with you, to hold you, to tell you how much I… I…" Uni suddenly felt her throat close up as her mouth turned dry. She swallowed hard and forced it out. "How much… How much I like you…"

Uni didn't stop staring into Nepgear's lovely purple eyes. She made sure to keep eye contact when pouring her heart out. Now, all she needed was to hear Nepgear's response.

Nepgear face was tinted pink as she said, "I-I like you too, Uni…"

Uni knew what Nepgear meant by that and shook her head. "I don't mean I like you as a friend, Nepgear. I genuinely like you more than a friend, more than a best friend… I like you as in…" Please don't hate me Nepgear, Uni internally pleaded as she voiced, "love…"

"…You mean… like Neptune and Noire love?"

Uni nodded her head, "Yes."

Nepgear's face was now flaming hot. She felt all the blood go up to her face and she was sure she could feel steam coming out of her ears. Uni had just told her that she liked liked her. Not as a friend or a best friend, but as in…

Nepgear suddenly sprung up from the bench as she looked at Uni's red eyes. She wasn't being messed with, she thought Uni might be teasing her or playing a trick, but Uni's eyes showed sincerity. She had just put her heart out in the open for Nepgear.

"I-I…" Nepgear opened and closed her mouth multiple times as she tried to find her voice. Her brain was a jumbled mess and she couldn't think straight. She needs to think, she needs to clear her head. "I-I… I need a moment!" Nepgear instantly ran away to get some space.

Uni watched her go as she stayed where she was. She didn't even try to go after Nepgear. She knew that the purple CPU needed time to think and decided to sit there and wait as she watched the twins instead, but she couldn't help but feel like she had just ruined her friendship with Nepgear.

Uni felt her eyes start to sting as her throat burned. She took deep breaths trying to calm herself. Nepgear wanted time, she didn't really reject the Black goddess, but it felt like she did and Uni couldn't stop a single tear from slipping down her face.

Time: 4:25 P.M.

Nepgear had run off somewhere out of panic. She wasn't sure how far she ran, but she found herself in a quiet park with very few people. Here, she should be able to think clearly.

The purple candidate slowed down her pace and deeply breathed. Her face was still hot and she couldn't calm her beating heart. Uni had just confessed her love to her and Nepgear doesn't know what to do. Did she feel the same way? She always saw Uni as her closest and most precious friend, she never thought of Uni as anything more than that.

Nepgear found an empty bench and sat down. She organized her thoughts and her own emotions. Uni's… cute and pretty… she's also hard-working… She's easy to talk to and hang around… She's nice too… and very reliable…

That's right, Uni was really reliable. She was always there for Nepgear. Uni always had her back, no matter what. She even went out of her way to take care of Planeptune in her place when she was in the Ultradimension. Without Uni, Nepgear didn't know what to do. It's because of the black candidate that Nepgear could keep going. Could keep doing her best. Everything she did was so she could stay by Uni's side.

Nepgear found herself grinning. Thinking about Uni calmed her down. Uni made Nepgear into a better CPU. She wouldn't be here if Uni wasn't by her side. Her chest was still pounding and her cheeks still burned, but she was able to think now. Uni was more than a friend, more than a best friend, she was her world.

Knowing her answer, Nepgear stood up from her seat. She needed to get back to Uni. Nepgear felt bad for leaving Uni so suddenly and hopefully, the girl didn't take it as a rejection. Uni's a smart girl. She wouldn't think that.

Taking her first step, a loud explosion occurred and the ground shook below. Nepgear almost lost her balance as she fell back onto the bench. Looking up in the sky, Nepgear could see grey smoke rising. "What the goodness?!"

"Miss Nepgear!"

Nepgear stood up and saw a blue-haired girl flying towards her. It was Rom in her HDD form. She landed in front of Nepgear with panicked eyes. "Rom? What's going on?" Nepgear questioned.

"Miss Uni… and Ram… We… We…" White Sister breathed heavily as she tried to speak.

"Calm down and explain," Nepgear said as she held onto White Sister. She then noticed blood oozing from her waist. "Rom! You're injured!"

"I-I'm fine, but… Miss Uni and Ram are still fighting!" White sister claimed. "Some weird people attacked us! Miss Uni told me to come to find you."

Nepgear's eyes widened in fear. Uni!
