Yes, I know the title isn't that original.
You're still here?
Okay, okay, I guess it isn't as important to people as I thought...
Enjoy then.
Chapter One (Draco):
Expect the Unexpected
He slammed me into the wall, and I grunted as I felt the force of it hit me. My breath was hitching, and I felt pools of blood in my cheeks start to form. This 'he' only smirked at my reaction, seeming to find pleasure in my uneasiness. He slowly leaned forward, his lips angling up to mine, and I tried to concentrate on other things other than how his ink black hair fell onto his face, how his eyelashes were so long and thick, how the corners of his plump lips were narrowing to create a form perfect for kissing...
Then finally our lips crossed the divide and met, mixing together into one savory mess. It felt amazing, and I tried not to dwell on how we were eventually going to get caught, how this was such a stupid, stupid idea, and how things had even gotten to this point, because to be kidding someone I previously found disgusting, someone who was my mortal enemy...
...Someone called Harry Potter... well.
Let's just say I found myself in a situation I never thought I would be in.
Chapter Two (Draco):
All's A Matter of Perspective:
We finally broke off for air, and the boy in question in front of me dug his fingers into his hair, rumpling it in the process. It was a habit of his whenever he was thinking hard, a habit which had at first annoyed him to no end, further cementing into his mind that this boy was nothing more than vain and arrogant, but which he now looked upon fondly, making a small smile form around his lips.
Still.
This usually meant he had something important to say.
Which he wasn't ashamed to admit made him extremely nervous.
Harry looked up at Draco from under his eyelashes. ' Merlin, he must be seriously unaware of the effect he has on people,' thought Draco, slightly stunned. Harry's lips parted, and he delivered some news that made Draco wish he'd ignored his lungs and had simply kept on kissing him.
Harry blurted out, 'Draco, I think we should break up.'
He pretended not to understand. Because he knew what they had wasn't permanent , but he hadn't expected things to end this early.
He still managed to force a whispered 'why?' Through his lips though.
Harry responded, 'because I think if people find out about what we've been doing, it'll only hurt you. Me, I'm used to this. I've been bullied and jeered at since I was a toddler, by people I'm forced to call my family and by everyone in Hogwarts at some point. But you? You're a Malfoy. Long line of pure bloods, basically nobility. Not that I believe in that shit, but to say that you've got more to lose than me if people were to discover about this. Take Rita Skeeter. That lady would skewer you alive, and you'd probably get sent howlers from the whole magical community of Britain for 'playing me'. Which we both know isn't true, but still. I don't want you to have to deal with any of that, because it's not something anyone should have to get used to. '
Harry stopped to take a long shuddering breath, and then continued. 'Look, I like you, I really do, but I just think at some point we're bound to get caught.'
Draco bit his lip, mulling over how to articulate his many conflicting emotions into physical words.
It was true that the entirety of the time they'd been together they'd never been able to be out in the open together, and so had to be creative in order to not get caught. Like using Harry's invisible cloak, taking Polyjuice potion just to be able to duck into an empty classroom and snog, etc.
Not to mention how much they'd had to up the hostility towards each other when in public, too. Malfoy sneered and jeered at Harry whenever they crossed paths in the hallways, and Harry would narrow his eyes and pretend to be trying to control himself from rushing over and punching him in the nose. All of Hogwarts knew about Potter and Malfoy, the pair you would want to skirt around when in the same room with, because a fight; physical, verbal or both was bound to break out, and either way you were bound to get to your class late. To be fair, it was true that there had been a time when they had genuinely hated each other's guts, but...
Things had changed.
And it all started on one sunny day during Detention.
