Hiya everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I've been having some fun with this new fanfic and coming up with what I want to happen. It's also a nice break from my Demon Slayer fic too. Worry not for that story will be updated soon as well. Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 3: Spider What?

A few weeks have passed since Izuku's quirk check up. The boy has spent most of his time training himself on getting used to climbing and walking on various surfaces. Inko on the other hand has been spending a lot of time in her bedroom after coming home from work or picking up Izuku from school. Sometimes the boy can hear his mother muttering in her room while he stands on the other side of the door. He wonders why she's been acting strange since his check up.

Whenever he tries to talk to her about her mood she'll change the subject or say he'll understand when he's older. That left the boy a lot of alone time that he used go work on training his quirk. He is currently walking in circles on the ceiling while writing in a notebook. The hero news is playing on TV talking about a villain attack happening somewhere in the city. The boy unsticks from the ceiling and lands in a crouching position with his notebook and pen in hand.

The notebook is full of information about how his quirk works and how to apply it to hero stuff. He goes over to the TV to turn it off but suddenly feels a tingling feeling in his head. The doorbell rings and a loud voice is heard from the other side of the door. Inko comes out of the room to open the door with Izuku following behind. Once the door is open a blonde toddler runs inside the apartment.

"Hi Kacchan! What are you doing here?"

Izuku asks his friend while the other blonde boy runs up to him. Katsuki gives Izuku a curious look as the boy inspects the other. Izuku is confused on what the other boy is doing.

"I heard my mom talking on the phone with your mom and she said that you finally got your quirk!"

Izuku nods enthusiastically at what his friend said. A thought popped into his head to show Katsuki what he can do. He crouches much to the confusion of the blonde. Not a moment later Izuku jumped into the air and twists his body so that he is sticking to the ceiling. Katsuki is shocked at seeing Izuku attach himself to the ceiling and falls into his behind.

"Look Kacchan, I can climb on things and I'm really strong too!"

Katsuki looks up at Izuku and points at the boy with an impressed grin. Izuku unsticks his feet from the ceiling and hangs by one hand before falling back to the ground on his feet.

"That's cool, but it still doesn't beat my quirk. You'll make a decent sidekick for me."

Izuku tilts his head at what the blonde said. Inko is talking to Katsuki's mother as they both walk to the kitchen. Izuku leads Katsuki to the living room where they can watch the hero news. They sit on the couch while the TV shows a woman talking to a hero called Death Arms.

"I keep telling you that I don't want to be a sidekick Kacchan, I want to he a pro hero too."

Katsuki lets out a chuckle after hearing Izuku say that. The blonde holds out his hand and small explosions spark out with popping sounds.

"How will you be a pro by crawling up walls like a creepy spider? At least my quirk can beat up villains."

Izuku is taken aback at what his friend said to him. He has noticed that Katsuki has been acting differently since he awakened his quirk. The boy that he called his best friend has been slowly getting meaner to him and others who have quirks that aren't as strong as his. The greenette points at his own arm and flexes a bit.

"I'm also super strong too. I can crush a metal cube with only my hands."

He picks up the cube that Dr. Tsubasa gave him and showed Katsuki. The blonde takes the cube into his own hand and overs it with the other. Izuku wonders why he covered the cube until more explosions are heard and smoke is coming out from his hands. He frantically tries to get the cube back but Katsuki runs away still blasting explosions onto the cube. After a minute the blonde shows the cube to be melted and almost completely black.

"Yeah but can you do that?"

Katsuki asks smugly while tossing the cube back to Izuku. The boy looks at what has happened to his momento from the hospital and sniffles sadly. Katsuki notices the tears in the other boy's eyes and laughs.

"Why are you crying like a baby? What are you, some kind of spider Deku?"

'Usless spider?'

Izuku couldn't help but start to cry at seeing the destroyed piece of metal. He suddenly feels a foreign sensation in his gut. Katsuki is still saying mean things but Izuku can barely hear what he is saying. All Izuku can hear is the quickening of his heart beating. Inko and Mitsuki are talking in the kitchen about their husbands until they hear something hitting Izuku's bedroom door and Katsuki shouting.

They both rush into the bedroom to see Katsuki getting up and rubbing the back of his head. Izuku is standing in the middle of the room with his arms pushed out and palms open. Both mothers are surprised to see the boys in this situation. Inko goes over to Izuku while Mitsuki is checking on Katsuki.

"What happened here Izuku? Why was Katsuki on the ground and what was that noise?"

Katsuki pushes his mother's hands away from himself and points at Izuku angrily and starts to shout loudly. Izuku is still looking at his own hands with a surprised expression.

"He was being a baby and crying about a stupid metal cube and pushed me!"

Inko instantly knows that the blonde is talking about the cube that Dr. Tsubasa gave him. She smells the burnt metal and notices the melted cube on the floor. Izuku slowly looks from his hands to Katsuki with a worried look.

"I'm sorry Kacchan, I didn't mean to push you that hard."

The boy tries to apologize but the blonde only waves his hand. Katsuki is angry that the boy he has been better than suddenly has the strength to push him around. No one is better than Katsuki Bakugo.

"You just got lucky! It's not like you're better than me!"

Mitsuki saw the melted piece of metal in Inko's hand and looked back at Katsuki. She had no idea that his quirk would get so strong. Izuku is hurt that his friend is being so rude after finding out about his quirk awakening. Mitsuki walked over to Inko and took the melted piece of metal from her hand, looking closely at the object. She turns around to face Katsuki and points to the metal.

"Katsuki, what was this before you destroyed it?"

Inko was about to answer before the blonde woman raised a finger to silence her friend. Mitsuki stared her son in the eyes and the boy felt a shiver go down his spine. He looks at Izuku who is still standing in the same spot watching them.

"It was a stupid piece of metal. The idiot already broke it so why does it matter what I did?!"

Izuku tries not to cry at the blonde's words and runs to his mother, hugging her legs. Mitsuki tilts her head with a look of annoyance at her son. The greenette looks up at his mother who is watching her friend deal with her child.

"Grrr, I'd wack you over the head butt I don't know if you hit it hard enough already!"

She shouted at Katsuki who only glared back at her. Izuku couldn't believe that this is how his best friend treats his own mother. That foreign feeling started to come back in his stomach. Before he could do anything Mitsuki grabbed Katsuki by his head and made him bow to both him and his mother.

"I am sorry for my son's behavior Inko and Izuku. I will make sure that his father and I talk to him when he is off work tonight."

Inko nods her head not saying much as she goes to the entrance door and opens it for them. Before the blondes leave Mitsuki apologizes to Inko again who accepts and closes the door. Izuku looks at the metal sitting on his desk and takes it in his hand. He can hear his mother preparing dinner.

'I am not a useless spider. Hmmm...spider?'

Izuku thought for a monent and realized that his quirk is that of what a spider can do. Instead of being upset that his mother didn't defend him or try to cheer him up, he decided to go research anything he can about different spiders and other insects. He goes to the room that they keep the computer in and starts to fall into his obsession of hero studies. Inko took out the paper that she secretly took from Dr. Tsubasa's office and reread everything for the one thousandth hoping that by some miracle that it said something different.

-A Few Hours Later-

Izuku is still on the computer reading information about jumping spiders. Based on what happened when Katsuki first showed up, he can jump high enough and twist his body on instinct to stick on the ceiling. He read that because spiders are so small they sustain very little damage when falling from high distances. He didn't hurt his legs or his feet when he unstuck from the ceiling either. On top of that if his leg strength can launch him into the air than he could also send strong kicks to attack villains. He thinks about the things that he could do with his arm and hand strength as well.

'If my quirk is like any other one it could get stronger the older I get.'

He thought to himself while writing the information down in a green notebook. While he continues to write information down he suddenly gets a familiar tingling sensation in his head again. While trying to figure out what the tingling is he can feel his hand shoot up and grab someone's wrist before they touched him. He turns his head to see his mother looking at him in surprise. Izuku also looks surprised and lets go of Inko's wrist muttering an apology.

"Are you ok Izuku? I haven't seen you since aunt Mitsuki and Katsuki left."

Izuku nods his head not wanting to focus on his mother ignoring his earlier reactions. He closed his notebook and turned off the computer. Inko watches as he makes his way to the kitchen.

"I made miso ramen for dinner."

A bowl of ramen with a large piece of meat is sitting on the table. Izuku's stomach is growling loudly so he gets on the chair and his mother scoots him closer to the table. His mother pours herself a bowl of ramen and sits at the table as well. They both eat in silence not wanting to bother the other.

After dinner Izuku put his bowl in the sink and went back to his room. Inko is cleaning the kitchen lost in thought. The rest of the night is spent with mother and son doing their own thing. The apartment is filled with an odd feeling of neglect and worry.

Izuku lays in his bed having changed into his All Might pajamas. He stares at the ceiling and sees the tiles that he ripped off during his quirk awakening. Thoughts about how to better use his quirk pop into his head as he slowly drifts off to sleep. When he opens his eyes he sees that he is back on the platform floating in space. The webs are still stretched out as far as the eye can see.

'What is this place?'

He thinks to himself as he watches the webs move around from the floating rocks. From out of no where a voice that sounds like his mother starts talking. Izuku looks around trying to find the source of the voice but only sees the webs and the void of space.

"What will it do to our baby?"

He hears his mother say in a scared tone. He looks around even more to see the webs forming together like the last time he was there. This time he hears a man that sounds like his father talking. He can start to see images of his father and mother in the gigantic webs.

"It will save him and cure your illness Inko. I won't lose you both, I can't."

Izuku is confused on what he is hearing and seeing. It doesn't help that the tingling feeling in his head is back, making it hard to think about anything. He puts his head into his hands and takes a deep breath trying to calm down. He can hear the voices of his mother and father but can barely make out what is being said. Out of nowhere he can suddenly hear Katsuki's voice.

"What are you, some kind of spider Deku?"

Izuku frowns at what his friend, no used to be friend said to him. He wants to prove to the blonde and to his mother that he can be a pro hero in the future. The same feeling from his gut came back and he now recognized what the feeling is. He is angry that his ex best friend and even his mother don't think he can be a hero. He falls to his knees and punches the platform he is standing on.

'I am not weak. I'll show everyone how strong i can be. I'll be a great hero and save everyone with a smile like All Might!'

He thinks to himself as tears start to fall down his cheeks. Then something popped into his head that he hope will work. He started to walk to one end of the platform to get more distance. In one motion be ran across the whole platform and leaped off of it. He landed on one of the webs and stuck himself to the silky substance. With out thinking he let his body go on auto pilot as he crawled and lept from web to web.

The boy shouts with glee as he makes his way from one web to another. He can feel his heart pumping more as he moves faster throughout the web jungle. The way that he moves is not that of a human but more like a spider or insect.

'If only I could shoot webs like a spider. Mobility and combat would also be better as well with webs.'

Izuku thought to himself as he made his way back to the platform. He jumps from a floating rock back onto the platform and notices that he is only slightly winded. The tingling comes back again but this time Izuku knows whats about to happen. He can feel the void fading away as he hears a ringing sound from far away. The next moment he feels like he is falling from the sky.

His eyes snap open to reveal that he is on the ceiling again with his alarm clock ringing. The funny part is that his alarm clock is sticking to his hand showing that he missed the snooze button in his sleep. He finally turns off the alarm with his mother knocking and entering the bedroom.

"Oh Izu, not again."

I've actually gotten onto a roll making this fanfiction. I'm already planning so far ahead for this like the other fanfic. The best part is that I really want to make this different from all the other spider man stories that are already out there. Please leave a review on what you all think and see ya in the next chapter.
