Chapter 21: Old and New

It was late, a lot later than Moroha had planned to be out. The full moon was shining bright above her head as she finally neared her home. She and Towa had just returned back to the village from a tough job that they had taken from slayers guild that day. It had just been the two of them on this mission and the demon that they were supposed to slay ended up being quite strong but it was nothing that the two of them couldn't handle together.

A bat demon had been causing trouble for a nearby village but the two girls had taken care of it as soon as they were able to find where the bat demon was hiding. Moroha and Towa both returned to the village exhausted after a tough fight and headed their separate ways. Towa went back to the slayers guild to report to Kohaku about their job and Moroha went home.

It was late into the night when Moroha returned home so she knew that she wouldn't be eating dinner with her family.

It always made her mother happy when the 6 of them could eat together at the end of the day. Her father enjoyed their family dinners too but her mother especially enjoyed that time almost every night when she got to hear about what her children were doing all day.

They were all likely asleep now so she would need to be quiet once she came in. Moroha perked up as she went to open the door, she knew that her mother probably set some food aside for her, for whenever she would get home and she was starving.

Moroha opened the door to her family home and was surprised to find both her mother and father still awake.

Her mother was sitting down at their small table and her father sat cross legged with his back against the wall next to their fire place.

"You're finally home." Kagome smiled as she looked her daughter up and down as she eyed her for any visible injuries.

Moroha smiled, she didn't have any major injuries. Just a few cuts and bruises. "Everything went well mom. The demon was just very well hidden and then we lost him the first time that we found him so today's mission took Towa and I a long time to get done." Moroha said while scratching the back of her head.

"See, I told you that you didn't need to wait up for her. Moroha is like me so there's no need to worry about her if she's running late at a job." Inuyasha said reassuringly to Kagome.

"She's reckless like her father too. So I've got the two of you to be waiting up for." Kagome said low.

"Hey I heard that." Moroha said.

"Are you hungry honey? Why don't you come and eat before taking a nice bath? Your father can heat some water for you." Kagome smiled sweetly at her daughter.

"Thanks mom. That would be nice." Moroha said thankfully.

"Go ahead and eat and I'll heat up the bath for you." Inuyasha said with a sigh.

"Thanks dad."

"Yeah, yeah." He sighed.

Kagome fixed Moroha a plate of what she had made earlier for her family before bringing it to her daughter.

"Tell me more about your job today. Did Kohaku have you and Towa go far from the village?" Kagome asked Moroha who happily got into what had kept both her and Towa out so late.

Moroha was always surprised to find Kagome awake whenever she occasionally ended up being out later than expected but Kagome always waited for all of her kids to come home before she went to bed. Unless she knew that they were going to be away from the village overnight. Kagome typically would always wait but tonight was different now that she knew that Naraku's successor was out there and was looking for revenge.

Kagome listened to her daughter's tale of what had happened today with ease as Moroha went on.

"Towa and I had made a bet about who would deal the finishing blow on the demon and we got a little too competitive today when it came to that. That was part of what was taking so long too." Moroha said as she ate her food.

"And who won? Was it Towa like the last time that you two made a bet?" Her mother asked with a smile.

Moroha shook her head. "It was me today." She said with pride.

"That's my girl, and what was this week's wage if you won?" Kagome asked.

"Towa owes me anything that I want at the market. I think that I'm going to ask for a trinket that caught my eye last week if I can find something similar." Moroha told her.

The two continued to talk and Inuyasha came back to the front of their home about halfway before Moroha had finished her food. She told him about her job that day and how she had dealt the finishing blow to the demon.

"I would expect nothing less from the most skilled demon slayer in the village. Just like your old man." Inuyasha said proudly.

"Dad, I'm not quite the strongest yet." Moroha said.

"If you keep this up you will be. You and I should go practice tomorrow. I'll teach you a new technique." Inuyasha said and Kagome smiled at him she really did love him especially when he was being a good dad.

"I told Towa that I'd train with her and Setsuna tomorrow at the slayers guild. If they go to the market I need to be there so Towa can give me what she owes me." Moroha told him.

"That's okay, we'll train together later on." Her dad reassured her.

Moroha finished her food soon enough. Kagome hugged her daughter tightly before she left the room to go and take her bath, after she put her dishes away.

"That kid is slowly and slowly spending less time with her dad. I've got to think of something to change this. Thank god the other three aren't like this yet. The boys never turn down an opportunity to train with me." Inuyasha said.

"She's a teenager, this is just how they are but don't worry she still loves you very much." Kagome reassured her husband.

Inuyasha looked around the room making sure that Moroha had left before he closed the gap between him and his wife taking her hands in his.

"Are you feeling better now?" Inuyasha asked sincerely with soft eyes as he spoke.

"I am… I was just worried that's all. After all, Naraku attacked you and Kikyo when the two of you were the happiest. He wiped out Sango's whole village just on a whim, who knows what his son will do now that we've got children that he can attack." Kagome said somberly.

"The past won't repeat, I'd never let anything happen to you or the kids." Inuyasha told her seriously.

"I know." She looked at him for a long moment as she squeezed his hands firm before softening her grip on his hands and he let he hands slip from his so that he got closer to her, folding her in his arms and giving her a tight hug before pulling away enough to still hold her while cupping her face with his left hand.

Kagome closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Finish saying what you had to say." Inuyasha urged her.

Kagome opened her eyes after she exhaled so that she could be grounded by his golden gaze.

"Miroku's family fought Naraku for generations. I don't want our kids to have to fight like that or to have to witness that type of cruelty. I don't want them to have to fight in an endless cycle against Naraku. If his son is like him and he thinks that he can use them he will, especially if it's against us." She said low while Inuyasha ran his thumb in a circle over her cheek.

"The kids will never have to worry about fighting Naraku and we don't need to worry about his son trying to find new ways to deceive us because we'll stop Naraku's heir just like we stopped Naraku and then we'll never have to think about either of them ever again." Inuyasha said strong and sincere.

Kagome sighed before pressing closer to her husband hugging him again her burying her face in his chest this time as she calmed down and breathed in his scent that had become her home.

"I suppose you're right." Kagome said into his chest as he held her back.

"I won't let anything happen to you or our family. I promise to protect everyone even if it costs me my life." Inuyasha said.

Kagome pulled back and met his eyes again. "This won't cost you your life." She said seriously.

"I didn't die against Naraku so I won't let his son kill me either. I promise that we'll always be together." Inuyasha reassured her and Kagome kissed her husband sweetly in response. Both of them completely unaware that Moroha was standing on the other side of the wall after she had forgotten something in that room and she had heard almost the whole of their entire conversation.

XXXX

Moroha's eyes slowly fluttered open. What a dream to have she thought as she felt the sunlight hit her face. That was the first time that she had heard her parent's talk about Naraku.

Moroha sat up now, rising from the soft grass underneath her trying to remember where she was. She knew that she had been injured because she could feel bandages and wraps around her body that hadn't been there before. Which meant that someone had treated her wounds but she didn't feel super achy.

She surprisingly felt better than she expected that she would after fighting against Rain and….

She stood up fast disregarding any lingering pains that she might have felt as she moved so suddenly and as her mind caught up to her.

"Yuki?!" She called frantically as she stood.

Where was everybody? She thought as she looked around and no one was near her.

"Ohh so she's finally awake." Her fathers voice rang through her ears. As he stated his sentence and Moroha froze in her tracks.

"Inuyasha." Her mother said. "Go easy on her, she's been through a lot."

"What? I haven't even said anything yet." Inuyasha said to his wife.

"You didn't need to." Kagome said.

His tone said it all. Kagome sighed.

Moroha turned to face her parents.

"You're both here." Moroha gasped as so many thoughts crossed her mind.

For so long she had been putting off this moment and now here her parents were both in front of her and she had no idea what to say. Moroha looked past her parents and saw her cousins and Hisui not too far away from them sitting down around a campfire.

They must have set up camp here, she noted to herself. Relief shot through her as she saw the three of them but she was still anxious as she only saw the three but didn't see Yuki or Jade.

Her mother looked at her for a long while. Neither her mother nor her father said a word and neither did Moroha for a long moment. She could only imagine how this must look to them. All of the teens had been injured and Moroha knew that she just had to be looking less than 100% in the aftermath of her battle with her hair all messy and around her shoulders free from her bow.

Despite everything her mother's eyes still looked at her kindly and she looked as if she were holding back tears before she pulled Moroha into a fast hug.

Kagome held her tight and Moroha fell into her embrace. She hadn't realized just how much she had needed a hug from her mom until her face hit the inside of her mother's shoulder and she held her back almost feeling like she might cry too.

"Damnit Moroha you can't scare us like that. You were asleep for 4 days straight." Kagome scolded as she hugged her daughter.

"Had we not been there all of you kids could have been killed." Inuyasha said.

"I'm sorry." She told her parents while her mother continued to hug her for a a while longer before finally letting her go.

"So you two saved us? All of us?" Moroha asked her parents as an anxious expression made its way in her face.

"Everyone's safe, you don't need to be worrying over that." Kagome said.

"Yeah just think about healing, you're not in the best shape after your fight." Her father told her sincerely.

"Thank you." Moroha told her parents. "I was so scared… I was so scared that Yuki was going to die." She said not even trying to hide the genuine fear and then the relief that she was feeling now.

Inuyasha looked at her with a stern expression.

"That kid's got you this riled up even after he called you his natural enemy and knocked you down the bone eaters well?" Inuyasha asked.

She knew that he didn't mean for it to come off harsh. He just couldn't help himself especially after seeing her hurt like that.

"Dad, Yuki is important to me. I haven't known him for very long but I know that he could never really be someone who would hurt me."

Both Inuyasha and Kagome looked at her with serious expressions.

Moroha could feel her eyes get puffy as she looked at her father and he wavered the slightest bit at seeing his daughter about to cry.

"Where is Yuki? Before…" Moroha started but the memory of Yuki's lips on hers flashed across her mind scrambling her thoughts as she clenched her fist and continued.

"Before I passed out he said that he was going to let Ryukotsusei kill him. Is he alright?" She asked her parents.

"We didn't stick around for long after your father killed Ryukotsusei but Yuki went with Koga's son. I'm sure that his injuries weren't too bad since he was up and walking around." Kagome said.

"Did the two of you chase them off? Yuki was supposed to come home with us. He and Jade both they—" Moroha started.

"I told him to stay the hell away from you and our village. I didn't kill him because Hisui and Setsuna pleaded for his life but he's the one who got you all into this mess. I'll never give him the chance to hurt any of you again." Inuyasha said.

"Why would you do that! I promised him that he could come back and now he's all alone. He's not who you think he is! Yuki is my friend. He'd never hurt any of us." Moroha said angrily.

"Moroha, your father and I left to investigate the last place that he had been before he decided to go to our village. The place was devastated and overrun with terrible demons. By the time that we got there very few people had escaped his long term visit to their village with their lives and everyone described to us how unrelentingly cruel he was. I love you and I know that it seems harsh but I just can't let you travel with him." Kagome said calm and evenly.

"He's changed, he's not really like that. Not without Rain." Moroha said.

"Maybe he was influenced by Naraku's acolyte but his actions are his own and no amount of excuses will ever change what he's done or what he tried to do." Inuyasha told her.

"No but he's not who he was back then. People change, you changed dad. Do you honestly think that I would have stayed with him if he was a bad person? I'm not giving up on him I—." Moroha told her parents.

"This is not about me." Inuyasha cut her off.

"That boy is dangerous, look what happened to all of you. You and Towa were both out cold and on death's doorstep because you followed him."

"That wasn't his fault. We risk our lives anytime that we fight against demons. Ryukotsusei was just strong, you know that. You fought him before."

"Enough about Ryukotsusei." Kagome said.

"I wasn't expecting to find you and the others gone when your father and I returned home. We trusted you to watch over your sibling and to make sure that everyone was taken care of while we were gone. You didn't just worry us by leaving the way that you did, you broke the trust that we had placed with you. Yuna told us everything." Kagome said seriously.

"What were you thinking letting that boy stay in our home while we were away?" Inuyasha asked.

"He had no place to go and I knew that I could handle it if he ended up being dangerous. He's a half demon dad. I didn't know it back then, but he was a human when I first met him and I knew that he couldn't hurt me back then."

"But he was dangerous, he was pretending to be weak so that he could kill you, kill all of you. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with him. He's just like his father." Inuyasha scoffed.

"He is nothing like his father. The two of you aren't listening to me! Yuki just wanted to do what would have made his father proud at first but then he met me. You don't even know him. I wish that you hadn't chased him away." Moroha told them.

"Inuyasha." Kagome said, trying to calm the situation.

"I'm sure that Yuki isn't as bad as we thought. I believe you Moroha. I saw how adamantly Setsuna and Hisui defended him. Even Towa was concerned about him after she woke up." Kagome took a deep breath.

"He probably has changed but that doesn't mean that we're going to let you run off with him. Moroha I think that the best thing that you can do for Yuki now is to let him go be with the wolf demons. If Koga accepts him that's fine but it's time for you and everyone else to come back home. Letting you stay out here alone is out of the question after everything that's happened. You left the village after we had asked you to watch over your siblings. We were counting on you and you left without our permission. There will be consequences for that and part of those consequences is having to come back home for now."

Moroha clenched her fist there was nothing that she could do to convince them and she knew that she couldn't run away anymore.

"I am not giving up on Yuki." Moroha said. "If you're going to make me go home then I will, but as soon as I can I'm going to go find him again whether he's welcomed back home or not. I know who he is even if you can't see it." Moroha finished before storming off.

Her parents exchanged looks. This had been the first time that they had ever had to punish any of their children over something this big.

"Well that went better than I thought." Inuyasha said as the flashback of his previous conversation with his wife came back to his mind.

"Have you thought about what we should say to Moroha once we find her? There's a pretty good chance that Naraku's son will be with her." Kagome told her husband.

Inuyasha shrugged. "She's our daughter so we're bringing her home. There's not much more to it."

"You know.. She's not going to be very happy with you if that's how you approach things. You're supposed to talk to kids about why they're in trouble." Kagome said.

"That's for minor things like arguing with her siblings or swiping Tessaiga while I'm sleeping." Inuyasha said.

"No that's for everything Inuyasha, she needs to know why what she did was wrong."

"That should be a given." Inuyasha said annoyed.

"I know but it's not, she's only 16. They think that they know everything so you have to explain. Don't you remember what it was like to be that age?" Kagome asked her husband, annoyed by him as well.

"I would have listened to my parents." Inuyasha said. "If she thinks she knows everything then she should know why I'm dragging her home."

"We are not just going to drag our daughter home without talking to her, that is not how you should discipline your teenager." Kagome scolded him now.

"Well aren't you just the perfect parent Kagome."

"Well my love I'm glad you are acknowledging that. Just let me do all the talking. okay?" She sighed.

"I was being sarcastic." Inuyasha said and Kagome smiled.

"Sit."

Kagome now sighed in the present. "As good as we could hope for." She told her husband.

XXXX

Kagome and Inuyasha walked ahead of the teens who all lagged behind as Setsuna filled Moroha in on what she had missed while she was out. Kilala even choose to rest on Kagome's shoulder while they all walked as if she had missed the two of them.

Yuki had been determined to go through with his sacrifice but Moroha's parents had arrived just in time to kill Ryukotsusei. After the fact Jade and Yuki went back to the eastern wolf demon territories together and they all had gone their separate ways.

Towa had woken up the next day and was beating herself up over what had happened but after having a discussion with her uncle she decided that there was no use in dwelling on the past she'd just have to get stronger.

"You know we could make a run for it. Uncle can't catch all of us." Towa said.

"I heard that!" Inuyasha called. "Don't even try it. I'd catch all 4 of you in less than a minute." He called back.

"What are you talking about?" Kagome asked her husband. As she couldn't hear what was being said from this far like he could.

"They're just plotting up an escape plan." Inuyasha told her.

"Wow, we really have become old people. I've never had anyone try to escape from me before." Kagome said disappointed.

"Damn." Towa said. "Looks like we've got no choice here."

"To be fair, running away isn't the best option anyway. Your uncle has a good nose so he'd just track us down again and we'd end up going back to the village anyway." Hisui told Towa.

"We can't just leave Yuki. This is exactly what he thought was going to happen, that we'd abandoned him." Moroha said.

"He's with Jade and the two of them seemed fine together as we went our separate ways. Jade didn't want him to be alone either so I really wouldn't worry about Yuki for now. And besides it's not like we don't know where they're at, we can go get the two them as soon as we can." Setsuna told her cousin.

Moroha sighed. "You're right I just feel like things would have been different had I been able to talk to my parents that day"

Moroha's hair blew in the wind and into her face before falling around her shoulders again.

"Did any of you find my red bow? I think I lost it during the fight." Moroha asked.

Setsuna shook her head.

"Towa was out too and I didn't think to look for it, sorry." Hisui said.

"It's alright. Mom can always make me a new one." Moroha said hiding how disappointed this actually made her.

Inuyasha stopped as he smelt something coming from ahead of them.

"You kids stay on guard! There's something coming." Inuyasha yelled before taking out Tessaiga.

Two mantis demons ran at them one in the front while another ran at them from behind attempting to box them in.

Inuyasha effortlessly cut the mantis clean in half at the front of the group while Moroha shot a single arrow clean between the eyes of the other demon and it was purified.

Kagome looked at Moroha impressed and so did Inuyasha.

"I learned from the best." Moroha told her parents with a sad smile.

"That wasn't the best idea to try and corner us like that. We might be on their hunting grounds." Setsuna said.

"There would have been more of them if that were true. They probably just thought that we were a group of humans and would be an easy target." Hisui shrugged.

"Moroha, Towa why don't you walk closer to Inuyasha and I so that you can tell us all about your travels." Kagome said.

"I haven't heard much about them from any of you." Kagome added and Towa looked to Moroha for silent permission to go to her aunt first.

Towa loved to tell stories about her own heroism and usually Moroha did too but she was upset with her parents right now and Towa didn't want it to feel like she wasn't on her side.

"You wouldn't want to hear about it. Yuki was with us and you and Dad have already made it clear that you don't care how well any of us know him." Moroha said.

"I don't know Yuki, so why don't you come and tell me about who he is since I don't know him the way that you do. I can try to understand if you tell me. I read the letter that your grandmother wrote to me too. What was it like for you to go there and meet them Moroha?" Kagome asked her daughter.

"I'm glad that you got the letters, grandma was very happy to see Haru, Sora and I. I didn't know that we had such a loving family on the other side of the well. I'd like to see them again someday." Moroha told her mother as she smiled.

"That makes me happy that you want to see them again. Mom missed time with you all when you were babies so she really couldn't help herself but wanted to catch up with you three when she finally met you, her and gramps both. I couldn't believe that Sota is married now too. When I left he was the same age as Yuna."

"Uncle Sota is doing very well. His wife, Aunt Moe. She teaches music and is really pretty." Moroha told her mom.

"Sounds like that kid's all grown up now, back when he was a kid he used to follow me wherever I went when I would come into that world. He was a good kid back then." Inuyasha said.

"I can't believe that he's married." Kagome exclaimed. "He was only 13 the last time that I saw him, I can't imagine how grown up he is now." She smiled.

"See, falling down the well wasn't the worst thing that could have happened while you were away." Towa said.

"That's probably the only thing that didn't turn out as bad as it could have but still." Inuyasha said.

"Did you read your letters too dad?" Moroha asked and he nodded.

"Kagome's family has always loved me too. It was nice to hear from them again."

Kagome smiled at her husband. "Those letters were truly a gift. I had your brothers and Yuna bring mom and the others back some letters as well. Haru in particular really likes it over there."

"Yuna went too?" Moroha asked surprised.

"She's gone 3 times. After going once she tried to pretend like she wasn't interested but she couldn't help herself." Kagome told her daughter.

"I'm glad." Moroha siad. "Grandma and everyone else are worth knowing."

"So tell me about what happened with Yuki Moroha." Kagome asked. "How did you all become friends?"

"I went to the sacred tree to clear my head after Shinji had been bothering me that morning."

"Your siblings didn't say much about Shinji before your mother and I left. The next time that I see that kid is going to be the last." Inuyasha said.

"It's okay, I'm not worried about Shinji dad. The day that I met Yuki, I went to the sacred tree to clear my head and as I sat down I smelt Yuki bleeding out. I thought that he was out cold but once I got closer to him he grabbed my wrist before I could touch him to look at his wounds. He didn't think that I was trying to help him and I didn't like the way that he was speaking to me, so I acted like I was there to poke at his wounds before I healed him. After he insisted that I let him repay me somehow, we went to the market together and he bought us some bread. After that I let him stay with us for a night because he had no money left after buying bread for me."

"Okay, you helped Yuki for one night, what happened after?" Kagome asked.

Moroha smiled. "Well he told me that he was a traveler and that interested me. Yuna didn't want Yuki to stay with us and Yuki said that he wouldn't stay where he wasn't welcome but Haru, Sora and I all really wanted him to especially because he had no where else to go so Yuna gave in. Afterwards Yuki got along well with Haru and Sora and he told us about how he was a skilled fighter so I invited him to our demon slaying job the next day."

"Can I say what happened next?" Towa asked and Moroha nodded.

"So the next day, Yuki comes to the slayers guild with Moroha and the two of them arrived earlier than the rest of us and with Kilala. Hisui gets there before Setsuna and I and of course he lectured Moroha about taking his cat without permission before Setsuna and I get to the guild because turns out Kilala was around the village that early because Setsuna and Hisui spent—"

"Towa! How is that relevant at all to the story!" Her sister interrupts.

"It's what happened." Towa said.

"It may have happened but how is this necessary for everyone to know?" Setsuna stated.

"I agree." Hisui said quick.

"You would." Moroha told him.

"Now I'm curious what happened back home to have you in the village so early, Hisui?" Kagome asked as Kila purred on her shoulder.

"He and Setsuna spent the night together." Towa said.

"Spent the night together?" Inuyasha repeated.

"Doing nothing but sleeping! We fell asleep watching the stars, it's not what you think." Hisui explained.

Kagome clapped her hands together with a smile. "I knew this was coming, I'm glad that the two of you have finally decided."

"Yeah, they kept it secret for 3 whole months." Towa said.

"I had just broken off my engagement with Princess Aiya. If we told everyone that we were together right away imagine how scandalous that would have been. We wanted to take things slow."

"That's okay Hisui, if you're not going to marry Moroha then I'm happy that you fell in love with Setsuna." Kagome smiled.

"Mom! I have never once been interested in Hisui, he's like Haru and Sora to me gross." Moroha said.

"Why was my mother hoping for the same thing?" Hisui told them as he face palmed.

"Sango and I always wanted to be in-laws and share grandkids one day but I guess we raised the two of you to be close in a different way. Nonetheless, I'm glad that things turned out this way because I can tell how much the two of you love each other." Kagome said to Hisui and Setsuna.

"You lost me on that one Kagome. Moroha doesn't need to be concerned with marriage or anything like that." Inuyasha said.

"Yes I know how you feel." Kagome said to her husband.

"Doesn't sound like it." Inuyasha told her right before slapping his hand onto his neck.

"That hurt." Myoga said as he fell to the ground.

"Well, well ,if it isn't Myoga the traitor. What are you doing here?" Moroha asked.

"Traitor?" Myoga questioned. "Lady Moroha I haven't even said a word to your parents yet, though I do believe that you should tell your parents that you are in possession of the red rainbow pearl."

"Rainbow pearl?" Kagome asked.

"This is what I met your a traitor." Moroha said.

"What the hell is a rainbow pearl?" Inuyasha asked.

"It just helps me to fight better." Moroha said.

"There are 7 rainbow pearls in existence. The demon zero created them after the death of Inuyasha's father. She used the Shikon jewel to cast out her pain. The pearls are pieces of her soul." Myoga said.

"And you just happened to pick up one of these pearls huh? How did you even get one?" Inuyasha asked.

"Easy, I slayed a demon who had it first and now it's mine." Moroha said.

"The rainbow pearls are powerful objects that amplify demonic abilities similar to how the Shikon jewel did but the rainbow pearls are not nearly as strong individually as the jewel was. Moroha is only a quarter demon so she can only utilize its powers for a minute at most before it takes a toll on her body and she sleeps for a full day after because her body can't handle its powers." Myoga said.

"One minute that's a hell of a cap, why use it at all then?" Inuyasha asked her.

"Not always, the last time that I used the rainbow pearl I managed to use it for much longer than one minute." Moroha defended.

"You used the pearl last time and now you slept for more than 4 days this time around." Inuyasha said concerned.

"Maybe you should let your father and I take care of the pearl for you. Can I see it?" Kagome asked.

"No, it's mine and I can handle it. I'll let you look at it but I know what I'm doing and it's never gotten me in trouble before. It's actually helped us multiple times during our travels." Moroha said before getting out her rouge and handing her mother the red pearl.

Kagome held the red pearl in her hands as she looked it over. Its presence wasn't as strong as the sacred Jewel but she did feel an unnatural aura coming from the stone. She could tell immediately that the rainbow pearls were more demonic in nature vs. how the jewel could be as pure or corrupted as its owner. The rainbow pearl seemed to be a mostly neutral source of power.

Kagome then sighed before giving the pearl back to her daughter.

"So what happened next, With Yuki?" Kagome asked.

"We went on our Job together and even as a Human he was stronger and much more skilled than I thought that he would be despite being injured and he looked out for me the entire time even though I didn't need him to. He was minorly injured during our fight that day. I went to treat the injury later that night and he took his shirt off which was how I saw that he had a spider on his back. The same spider mark that granny Kaede had described to us when we had asked about Naraku. Yuki explained himself to me and he had planned on taking me hostage but it didn't go as planned after we fought and I fell down the bone eaters well. I had been knocked unconscious when I fell but once I came to I met our family on the other side mom. During my time there I thought about Yuki a lot because as I fell he had reached out to me with a terribly hopeless expression on his face. It was the last thing that I could remember. After I got home I was determined to go and save Yuki before anyone else could get to him."

"The night that we fought, I could tell that he didn't want to. I could see it in his eyes and the moment that I fell he tried to reach for me. After we left I didn't meet up with Yuki again for a long time but when I did he adamantly told me to go home and to stop following him because he wanted to protect me. And it was just like you had always said mom. When someone cares about you they want to protect you no matter what." Moroha told her mother seriously.

"Moroha." Her mother started.

"Yuki wanted to make sure that we all lived even at the cost of his relationship with the person who raised him. After we started traveling together he became comfortable enough to be himself with us. I was kidnapped once during our travels and he came falling down from the sky and crashing into fight even as the building started to burn. And then before I fell asleep four days ago. He told me that he would gladly give his life if it met that me and everyone else could live on just as we were. He understands that he's done bad things in the past and because of that he doesn't think that he deserves to be with all of us but he does. He deserves a second chance because he wants to be good and we all chose to let him become our friend. So I will never give up on him and I will show him that he doesn't have to sacrifice himself over and over to prove to us that he was worth everything."

"Moroha." Her father said.

"What?" She asked.

"Yuki doesn't sound all that bad." Kagome told her.

"Looks like we're here." Inuyasha told them changing the subject as they saw a village begin to appear in the distance.

"We'll stay here for a night or two before continuing home." Kagome said following her husband's lead.

"Lodgings for all of us are going to be expensive but we've got the means after slaying Toktosu." Hisui said.

"Don't worry about the money." Kagome smiled.

XXXX

"It really is you!" The village headman said. It had been so many years since he had seen the brave people who had saved him and his friend back when they were kids.

"Wow Taromaru you sure did grow a few inches, it won't be as easy to punch your head now." Inuyasha joked.

"I am the village headman now that my father has grown too old, such actions would be criminal." Taromaru smiled.

Inuyasha and Kagome took the teens to the biggest manor in the village and requested an audience with the village headman who saw them immediately after his soldiers rushed all of them inside.

"How do you know the village headman?" Moroha asked.

"Your parents saved my best friend and I from being eaten by a water demon when we were kids. I owe them my life. They saved this whole village. As soon as you both left here we experienced a great era of peace and prosperity. Our village truly flourished thanks to the four of you back then." Taromaru the village lord said.

"Awe that was so long ago. We'd really just appreciate it if we could have lodging for a few nights while my daughter and her friends recover." Kagome asked,

"You can have lodging for as long as you need, all of you are my honored guests. I'll personally make sure that you've got everything that you need and more. Had I not have already taken a wife. I would have even offered you an arrangement as well."

"Now don't be too gracious, we're not interested in arrangements like that. Not unless you want the village to be looking for a new headman." Inuyasha said.

Taromaru laughed before saying. "I understand, you would be such a loving father Inuyasha. I am truly happy for both you and Lady Kagome. Trust that all of you will be taken care of."

The lord then had some of his servants show them where they would be staying for the next few days.

"Why is it always me who gets the unwanted marriage request?" Moroha said.

"I think everyone just knows better than to suggest such things to me and Setsuna is not an option." Towa said.

"Everyone must know better? You're not that scary Towa." Moroha said.

"Scarier than you." Towa smirked.

"Hey, cut that out, we're in public." Setsuna scolded the both of them as the servant led them to what would be their room while they were staying here.

"If the three of you would like a bath before the feast I can arrange for that to smooth some of your injuries." The servant said.

"That would be nice, thank you." Setsuna said just as they got to their room and the servant went to set up their bath.

The room was nice and spacious with more than enough space for the three girls. Towa and Moroha had already claimed where they each would be sleeping as well.

The three quickly got situated before meeting the servant outside of their room so that she could take the three of them to the bath house.

The bath house wasn't as big as the one that they had gotten to use after slaying Tokotsu and Jakotsumaru all of that time ago but it was still a decent size and the water was well kept and clean.

"Let me know if you need anything else. The servant girl said before giving the girls their privacy.

"I guess it's not too bad that your parents are here. We wouldn't have gotten to stay here if they weren't with us and we get to take a bath too." Towa smiled as she started to undress for the bath.

"I still would rather Yuki be here with us." Moroha said.

Moroha got undressed too before sinking into the steamy bath water. She could see her reflection as did so. Her body was covered with bandages.

She had bandages covering the spot where she had been deeply cut by Rain and layers of bandages covering where she had been bitten by Ryukotsusei.

She couldn't believe that she had been so badly injured in the aftermath of both battles.

She looked to Towa whose skin looked flawless as always and then to Setsuna whose neck was now completely healed after their fight with Corvus. They were lucky, she thought.

They always healed quicker than she did but at least she typically didn't scare as much either. Moroha thought as she sank her shoulders into the water.

Thoughts of her last moments with Yuki flashed through her mind. His kiss and then his words of I love you played over and over again as she tried her best to think about anything else while she was bathing.

All of the times that she had been close to Yuki had felt natural. All of the times that she had hugged him and held his hand had felt like what she was meant to be doing. All of the times that they had slept next to each other had given her peace. How could she not have seen that he was falling in love with her?

"Are you okay?" Setsuna asked Moroha as she had been quiet for a long time and that was unlike her cousin.

"Can I tell you two something?" Moroha asked.

"What is it? Are you still having problems thinking about Yuki?" Towa asked. "I'm sure that we'll see him again someday." Towa said doing her best to reassure her cousin.

Moroha shook her head. "It's not what you think." She said as she contemplated whether or not to share what had happened with the two of them.

"Before I used the red pearl Yuki kissed me." Moroha said.

Setsuna looked at her wide eyed and so did Towa.

"He's got some nerve doing that." Towa said.

"He kissed me and said that he loved me. He apologized and said that if he was going to die he wanted to at least have kissed me once. That was the last conversation that the two of us had before I woke up." Moroha said.

"I'm sorry Moroha, no wonder you were so upset that he wasn't here, especially after he was so willing to die." Setsuna said.

"How do you feel about him kissing you? Are you upset?" Towa asked.

Moroha shook her head. "I'm not mad at him. I don't know how I feel." She said honestly.

"I never thought that a relationship like that would be for me. Love changes people and Shjinjis affections had always made me feel suffocated but when I'm with Yuki I've always just felt free. I didn't even realize that the two of us were falling down that path until I thought about him dying that day."

"Well he feels that way for you, do you feel the same?" Setsuna asked.

"I don't know, I'm just confused." Moroha said honestly.

"It's okay to think about how you really feel for a while but don't think that you have to return his feelings just because the two of you are friends. How you feel is up to you even if it might hurt Yuki's feelings." Setsuna said.

"Thanks Setsuna, I didn't feel like this was something that I could bring to mom since her and dad don't like Yuki." Moroha sighed.

"I can't believe that Jade was right." Towa complained. "He told me on the beach how Yuki felt. He's going to think that he deserves to say, I told you so next time we meet." Towa groaned.

"You knew and you didn't tell me!?" Moroha asked surprised at what she was hearing.

"No it was just something that Jade said, I didn't think that it was true." Towa shrugged.

"It would be like you and Jade to get into it as soon as you see eachother again." Setsuna said.

"Don't worry I won't tell him anything." Moroha smiled.

"That would be appreciated." Towa said.

"Unless Yuki tells Jade." Setsuna added.

"Maybe we should leave those two where they are." Towa said and Moroha splashed water at her.

XXXX

Kagome and Inuyasha were shown to their room and Kagome immediately broke the silence.

"We've got a problem." She sighed heavily before flopping down onto the large futon in the center of the room.

"What's with you?" Inuyasha asked.

"Couldn't you tell?" Kagome asked and Inuyasha just looked at her quizzically as he waited for her to explain.

"Moroha is in love with Yuki. Just listen to how she talks about him." Kagome gasped. Kagome knew all of her children well and she knew this without Moroha telling her.

"No that can't be true he tried to kill her." Inuyasha said trying to reassure his wife.

"You tried to kill me when we first met." Kagome said.

"I was just upset about being bound to that tree for so long, I wasn't really going to kill you. I just wanted to scare you." Inuyasha said defensively.

"Well it worked." Kagome said.

"Come on Kagome, that was over 20 years ago." Inuyasha told her.

"He loves her too." Kagome said. "He thought that he was going to die and all he asked was that you tell Moroha what his last words were."

"Ughhh, no." Inuyasha sighed. "What are we going to do? Force her to never leave the village again?"

"We can't do that." Kagome told her husband.

"But she's our daughter." Inuyasha said.

"Yes but we can't just disregard her feelings. I suppose it was just a matter of time, most girls her age are married over here. I just didn't expect it to be Naraku's heir."

"We weren't married at her age." Inuyasha said.

"I'm not from here." Kagome said.

"Well in that case I would have preferred Hisui to this Yuki kid." Inuyasha complained.

"I would have always preferred to share grandchildren with Sango but Moroha cares a lot about Yuki and if we try to keep her from him overtime she'll shut us out."

"What exactly do you want to do then? Just let her run off to go find him?" Inuyasha asked.

"No I don't want to do that but I trust Moroha. It's hard to acknowledge but she isn't a little girl anymore. She's 16, she's two years older than I was when I met you after I fell through the well. Even though 16 isn't quite there yet she's old enough to know right from wrong. We can't keep her from Yuki if she really does love him. Just like my mom accepted that I loved you. She let me choose you and to live here because she knew that it would make me happy. Even if we wanted to, we can't keep her away from him forever."

Inuyasha sighed. "Let's talk about this later. We can't keep her away forever but maybe if she meets someone else—"

"She'd never go for that, she's our daughter, she's too stubborn for that to work and you know it."

"Yeah." Inuyasha sighed, "I know."

"What about this business with the rainbow pearl?" He asked.

"I don't think that it's as dangerous as traveling with jewel shards. I think we should leave her alone about that and besides, her cousins are here to look after her when she needs help. I think that that's the least of our problems overall." Kagome said.

"Yeah, you're right about that one." Inuyasha added.

XXXX

Hisui was shown to the room that he would be staying in alone and immediately he felt the absence of both Yuki and Jade's presence.

He had gotten used to not being the only guy in their group anymore.

He looked around the spacious room.

Yuki would have quietly made himself at home while Jade would have had a million things to say about the host as soon as the doors were closed.

Hisui walked deeper into the room as he smiled to himself while recalling his friends and making himself at home as it was just him alone.

Hisui quietly sat his things down before slipping out and going for a walk around the village.

It was sunset now but even in the late hours of the day a lot of the village people were out doing work tending to their fields and running to mercent stands last minute. From the look of it this was a very prosperous village.

Hisui walked through the village and ended up at a lake that held some of the clearest waters that he had ever seen. He stared across the large body of water as the sun painted the water orange and Hisui took out his water container to fill it with some fresh water.

In the aftermath of their battle both he and Setsuna had tried to tell Inuyasha and Kagome about how Yuki wasn't who they thought he was but all they could see was that both Moroha and Towa had been left injured and unconscious in the wake of traveling with Yuki.

Setsuna was still shaken up after almost leaving Yuki behind so she could barely explain at the time why they shouldn't be wary of Yuki. Hisui was also shaken but he could tell that Inuyasha and Kagome weren't going to change their minds easily so he decided to focus on making sure that Setsuna was alright while Towa and Moroha recovered.

His mind recalled their talk the day that they had all split up. He was lucky to get a small moment alone with her, that's when he asked.

"Are you alright?" Hisui had asked her.

"I'm fine, I wasn't injured half as bad as Towa and Moroha." Setsuna said.

"That's not what I mean." Hisui looked at her more seriously now.

"Are you alright?" She asked him and she broke eye contact with him as he spoke.

"We just fought against an extremely powerful demon and I was virtually helpless. It doesn't feel good to not be able to help at all when everyone else is fighting so hard." Hisui said.

"Hisui, we— "

"I didn't tell you that for sympathy. I understand my limitations, that's why I stayed back and did what I could but I'm going to remember today so that something like this never happens again. Even if we meet a strong opponent that we can't defeat. If I can't contribute anything to the fight I'll figure out a way for us to all survive even if we have to run away." Hisui told her.

Setsuna stayed quiet for a long time. "When I saw Towa bleeding and unconscious, I was afraid. My entire life my sister has always protected me when things got too tough. When we were kids, I was scared of the smallest things and even when I was afraid of things that a kid should be afraid of she always met everything that frightened me with a brave face. Towa has never needed my help before but when I saw her like that I knew that it was my turn to take care of her." Setsuna said and her strong expression wavered.

"Even if it meant leaving Yuki behind." She said the last part as if the words tasted bitter on her tongue as she spoke.

"I don't blame you for choosing that Set, I should have said it first." Hisui said.

Setsuna shook her head. "No, you're too good for that. It's as you said you'd always want to save everyone. I saw no way for us all to win or to live if running was all that we could have done and yes it hurt to leave Yuki behind but to see all of you die too would have hurt more."

She said and Hisui hugged her, holding her tight in his arms as she tried not to shake in the aftermath of her choices.

"Moroha and Towa would have hated me if Yuki had died. The two of them would have never given up like I had." She said.

"Yuki didn't die, we're all okay." Hisui said while caressing the back of her head.

"But still, I was going to, I would have left." She said

"And so was I, so was Jade. You are not the only one who would have been to blame. You made a decision to save the four of us or none of us and both Jade and I understood that. Stop beating yourself up over this." Hisui said.

"Easier said than done." Setsuna told him and they held each other for a long time that night before going back to where Kagome and Inuyasha were.

After that Setsuna had been mostly quiet as they traveled with her aunt and uncle. The next day Towa had woken up and Setsuna had let her know what had happened. Everything that had happened.

"I would have never left Yuki alone even if he told me to, I would have rather died fighting than to run away but you've always been more cautious than I am. I know you Setsuna and if all of us dying no matter what was inevitable, I know that you would have never ran. You would have fought with Yuki until the end if that were the case, but Yuki wanted to save us and you respected his wishes because you saw no other way for all of us to survive. I can't be mad at you for doing what you thought you had to protect us, especially when we all made it out alive anyway. " Towa had told Setsuna and she finally let her mind rest after Towa had reassured her.

Hisui sighed in the present as he got up from his place on the edge of the lake. Maybe he did need this alone time to clear his head.

If his Aunt be Uncle weren't here he would have asked Myoga if he knew anything about Corvus the demon who had killed Rain and attacked them.

It seemed like all 4 of them were in silent agreement about not bringing it up to Moroha's parents, as to not worry them any further.

"Hey you."

Hisui turned his head towards where the voice had come from.

"Hello." He said.

"It's getting late travelers like you shouldn't really wander around alone, someone might think that you're looking for trouble." One of two men said they were bigger than Hisui and looked to be bandits or hired swords.

Hisui immediately turned his head without saying another word to either of them and walked the way opposite of the two men.

"What the hell! You looking down on us?" The one who spoke first said.

"I'm not in the mood for this right now, get lost." Hisui said still not even turning to look at them.

"Alright give me everything that you've got on you. We're not even going to give you a chance now." One of the men ordered with anger.

Hisui just continued to walk and the men both ran at him.

Hisui side stepped just in time and one of the men fell over his feet while he grabbed the second one and flipped him over his shoulders and onto the ground.

"You two need to go get a real job. If this is how you fight, robbery is never going to pan out for you." Hisui criticized.

"You asshole!" Both of the men got up again and Hisui swiftly took the both of them out once more as they took out their swords.

Hisui ducked under one sword and moved left to avoid another as he was unarmed.

He was slashed at again and this time as he evaded the swing he hit the first man square in his face and the man passed out from Hisui's punch. Before Hisui jumped and then kicked the other guy hard to the side of his head.

"As I said this is not the right business for either of you." Hisui told them again before leaving the two men unconscious by the lake.

When Hisui got back to the headman's manor he met back up with the girl's before the feast was ready and the six of them all went to eat with the headman.

"I invited Suekichi over too since it's been so long since we've all seen each other." The village headman said.

"Welcome back." Suekichi said with a bow and smiled at their guests.

"You've grown up so much too!" Kagome said.

"Look at how adorable the two of you are now." She smiled.

"I can't be adorable, I'm that much bigger now." Suekichi smiled. Kagome was still just as pretty as ever and it made him blush to get praise from her.

"You kids are just trying to get more compliments. It is good to see you both alive and well." Inuyasha said.

"Thank you Inuyasha. Suekichi let me introduce you to everyone." Taromaru said.

This is Lady Kagome and Inuyasha's daughter, Moroha, and this is the son of Miroku and Sango the other two people who saved us. His name is Hisui and these are the twins Towa and Setsuna, Inuyasha and Kagome's nieces." Taromaru said and everyone exchanged hellos.

"You and your friends really did do so much for our village and ever since then the water goddess has protected our village and given us exceptionally fertile fields." Taromaru said.

"It was nothing really." Kagome told them.

"Not to us, Suekichi and I almost died that day and because of the four of you back then we got to live to see today please east as much as you'd like old friends." Taromaru smiled.

"Your parents have quite the reputation around here." Hisui said to Moroha.

"Yours too, did you not hear the headman say "the four of you."" Moroha said.

"I wonder what kind of reputation our father had amongst different villages." Towa said.

"Sesshomaru isn't the biggest fan of humans that aren't your mother. Especially back then most probably didn't live to tell the tale if they crossed him." Inuyasha said.

"Awe so it was like that." Towa sighed disappointed. "Looks like Setsuna and I won't be getting any favors because of dad then."

"Master Taromaru." A soldier gasped as he barged into the dining hall"

"Ian! What are you doing back?"

"We couldn't do it, the five of us, we were no match." The man passed out and Kagome went right to him.

"What's going on?" Kagome asked?

"I was trying not to burden you this time." Taromaru said.

"Spit it already." Inuyasha told him.

"We've been dealing with demons on the outskirts of our village. Mantis demons and we have no idea where they are coming from."

"Is that all? You should've just said. These kids are pretty strong demon slayers, you know." Kagome smiled and of course Myoga made an excuse as he sat on Setsuna's shoulder as to why he had to leave before things got too dangerous.

"We couldn't possibly not after everything you did in the past." Taromaru continued.

"Don't worry about it, we'll be back before morning." Inuyasha told Taromaru.

"You kids coming?" He asked and everyone agreed.

They all left the dining hall soon after to get ready to slay the mantis demons. Hisui, Setsuna and Towa all changed into their demon slaying gear. While Moroha found a normal hair tie to pull her hair from her face for the night.

"Are you alright to go with everyone?" Her mother asked her quietly in the front of the manor before they all set off.

"The two of us can stay behind if you still need to rest. No one would judge you for that."

"Mom I'm fine, I've gotten back up before." Moroha said.

The group followed Ian to where the rest of the men had been picked off from. The forest was quiet and eerie in the dark of night as they headed to their destination that was lit only by the half moon and starlight.

"We're almost there." Ian said.

"It's not often that they come back." One of the demons said loud enough for everyone to hear.

"And while bearing such nice gifts too." Another said.

Inuyasha moved first, swinging his sword fast and cutting down a large bunch of trees that had been obstructing their view.

Once he did so 10 giant mantis demons were now visible.

"There's most likely more of them, you all stay alert." Inuyasha said.

"We'll protect you from the scary bugs, Hisui." Towa smirked and he rolled his eyes.

"I have long grown out of that fear, Towa." Hisui said though he was no longer afraid of them, bug demons still gave him the creeps.

"My hand is always open should you need it." Setsuna added.

"Not you too." Hisui huffed as the girls smiled.

The mantis demons attacked at once. Rushing the 6 of them while Ian left to safety while they took care of things.

Inuyasha quickly scooped up Kagome while Hisui jumped on to Kilala with Towa as she was the closest to him and both Setsuna and Moroha evaded the other demons on their own.

"If you 4 goof off like this in battle, no wounder you got your asses handed to you last time." Inuyasha called.

"Just give them a break this time." Kagome smiled.

Inuyasha put her down and used his wind scar to wipe two of the demons out.

Hisui threw down Hiraikotsu and it cut off one of the mantis demon's arms before Towa jumped down and finished it off.

Setsuna used her scourge of swallows attack to take out another.

Inuyasha tore through three more mantis demons easily. While Towa took on another.

Moroha used her crimson dragon wave next to easily overcome her opponent as well.

Another mantis demon shot up from the ground right underneath Moroha almost as quickly as she had taken out the first and she barely had time to react.

She moved fast as the ground crumbled underneath her hopping from rock to rock as the mantis demon emerged but was suddenly halted once Kagome's arrow hit its head and it evaporated into dust as it was purified.

Moroha got back on to stable ground and Setsuna moved to fight close to her.

"You alright?" Setsuna asked.

"Never better." Moroha reassured her.

More mantis demons fell from the trees and the two girls jumped to take on more of them Moroha was cutting through another when he father complimented her.

"Looks like you were ready to get moving again." Inuyasha told her.

"I know not to push myself too hard, dad." Moroha said before cutting down the demon that was behind her father.

Inuyasha smiled at her with pride before he slashed another demon that was coming down from the sky and it's remains fell on either side of them.

Moroha then sheathed her sword before pulling out her bow and using her heavenly arrow barrage attack and the forest shone like starlight in the aftermath.

The ground then shook for a long while and everyone did their best to stay grounded. Hisui and Towa took to the air again.

The last wave of mantis demons shot up from the ground and the biggest one grabbed onto Moroha's red cape and flew up high into the air with her.

Inuyasha moved fast as this happened, going to cut off the leader's head right as it grabbed Moroha but 4 mantis demons intentionally took the hit for it instead.

Hisui and Towa went to chase the demon that took Moroha but they were blocked from the air too.

Moroha felt herself flying higher and higher into the sky and she squeezed her bow tight as the mantis demon shrieked loud and shrill into the quiet of the night.

She kept her focus and stayed calm enough to grab a single arrow as she was being flown erratically.

She grabbed her arrow and aimed it at the demon's head but it dropped her right as she let her arrow fly. The demon had caught on to what she was doing and this ruined her aim but despite that her arrow flew up and just narrowly destroyed the demon's wing, now they were both falling down into the trees.

Moroha turned her body as she fell and she looked for a safe place to land so that she wouldn't be hurt as the demon fell from the sky behind her. She was just a few feet above the trees and she tried to shift to land into its leaves the best that she could but the impact still didn't feel good.

The mantis demon landed with a loud crash moments after and Moroha stood fast pulling out her sword.

The mantis demon swung its large claws at the tree that she had fallen in, cutting it down and making her jump to the next tree.

"I was aiming for the strong one with long silver hair but you're not disappointing me, I'll destroy that village for sending the lot of you out here." The demon said.

"Only the living can follow through with their threats." Moroha said cold and the demon attacked her more violently.

Moroha jumped to the ground and then ran fast behind another tree as she avoided the demon's stray attacks again.

Should she use the rainbow pearl? She thought as she hid.

"What a cocky little girl you are for someone who just runs and hides." The demon mocked.

No, she was alone here and even if she wasn't, her parents didn't need to think that she was overly dependent on the rainbow pearl. Moroha told herself this as her resolve strengthened.

The demon attacked where she was hiding and this time she was ready moving back from the tree that she was behind. She held her sword in front of her and summoned the largest crimson dragon wave that she could and sent it flying right at the mantis leader. The attack hit it head on and the demon flailed for a while befre being completely overtaken by her attack.

Moroha caught her breath heavily before putting her sword away and following her nose until she was face to face with her parents again.

They looked at her almost like they were suthat she hadn't needed their help and she asked them.

"What?" She didn't know why they looked so surprised.

Kagome shook her head and Inuyasha smiled,

"I knew we didn't need to worry about you." Was all that he said.

"Tell us how you finished off the mantis leader?" Towa asked excitedly and they all went back to the village with Ian who had managed to stay out of the way for the entire fight. They returned back to the village before sundown just like they had promised.

Three days passed after that and Kagome and Inuyasha had made their decision once it looked like Moroha was mostly healed.

Moroha's parents pulled her aside after she had finished training with Towa on the third day.

"We don't like that you left the village when we were depending on you but the two of us understand why you did it and we trust you Moroha. We raised you to know right from wrong and to be able to tell who's worth your friendship and who's not so if the four of you want to go after Yuki then you can." Inuyasha told her.

"What!? Really?" Moroha gasped.

Kagome nodded her head. "I was younger than you when I first fell through the well. I would have done anything for my friends. You get that from the both of us, you know. Just go ahead and find your friend sweetie and when you're ready you can all come back together this time." Kagome smiled.

Moroha hugged her parents. She couldn't believe that she was getting their permission after fearing their reaction for so long.

"Thank you, I love you both so much. Thank you for always letting me be myself and for teaching me how to be strong." She said and she hugged her father one last time.

"Of course you're strong, you're our daughter. I knew that from the moment that you were born so go tell your friends that you can finally ditch your parents and go on adventures again." Inuyasha smiled.

A.N: Sorry for the update coming a day late. I ended up being busier than I had planned to be. The next update will come next week on Saturday or Sunday. Thank you for reading.
