"Branchifer..." Poppy sighed out quietly, her voice carried away by the whisper of a light breeze that swept through the bedroom of their shared home.

Poppy currently was leaning with her back against Branch's chest, the back of her head resting on his shoulder as he laid a sweet kiss right below her ear, his arms tightening around Poppy's waist in reaction to hearing his name.

Branch is silent, as he typically is, preferring his body to act instead. Branch lazily dragging his lips down the side of Poppy's neck before settling over a spot that he often kisses first, then runs his tongue over in a way that makes her toes curl and her body shiver with delight.

Branch grazed the spot with his teeth for a brief moment before returning to simply planting kisses over any skin he could reach, content with just this much she figures and Poppy smiles. Unconsciously, Poppy leans her head away to give Branch all the access he desired and took his hands in hers, curling her fingers over his.

They were settled on the roof of the their pod, the sky dark and filled with the moon and her dreams. They had been silently enjoying each other's company prior to this, having idle chatter and their gazes cast to the stars when Poppy made a comment on the night being chilly. Branch curiously turned his gaze to her, the action in turn making her do the same. There was a mischievous glint in his eyes that appeared and disappeared in the same second before the teal blue troll pulled her into his lap, and, well, here they were. But Poppy wasn't complaining. It wasn't every day that Branch was as open and affectionate as he's being now, and she'd be a liar if she said she wasn't relishing every second of it.

Poppy may be enjoying it a bit too much, though, because a minute later the pop queen lets out a surprised noise when Branch finds a particularly sensitive spot on her neck and bites down roughly. Poppy's eyes shot open wide, a flush blooming over her cheeks and down her nape at the action. Branch is resting his cheek on her shoulder the next moment as she turns her head to face him, pouting, "Not Cool."

Branch lets out a low chuckle, "You were distracted. I helped."

The Pop Queen lets out a huff of air, "I was thinking of you."

When Branch doesn't say anything, she continues quietly, "I-I was thinking of how much I liked this. The attention and—your kisses."

Branch stays quiet and she's furrowing her brow, wishing she could see the look on his face to know what he was thinking but from the unusual angle Poppy couldn't see much past his hair. The butterflies that were floating around in her belly were replaced with slight dread and a bit of fear that she's gone and said something embarrassing. Poppy's biting her lip, feeling her whole body warm and suddenly tense with awkwardness.

Poppy opens her mouth to say something, but it's as if Branch really understands her panic or feels how rigid she's become because his lips are on her cheek an eternity later. Poppy feels his hand leave hers to grab her chin, he's turning her head to meet his and his lips are on hers a moment later. Everything Poppy was thinking of is suddenly gone, washed away the moment Branch's mouth met hers, soft and patient until she began to respond.

Branch's hand moves to the back of Poppy's head as his kiss begins to grow more urgent, the kiss turning needier, his lips hungrier against hers and in turn Poppy reciprocates. She's shifted against him, her body now facing his with her hands on his chest—wanting to be as close as possible as Branch started kissing her roughly. It must have been a while later when Branch finally pulls back, a noise of dissatisfaction leaving Poppy before realizing he pulled back for her sake as she hears herself quietly panting.

Poppy's mind felt fuzzy and foggy, but she's unsure if it was from the senseless kissing or from the lack of air. She finds that she doesn't care though as Branch's nips at her bottom lip before kissing her sweetly for a moment more, finally wrapping his arms back around Poppy's waist again.

Poppy is left at odds, mind blown over what just occurred but not minding the aftermath of it all either.

"Did you also like that kiss?" Branch asks, his tone teasing as his fingers stroke Poppy's waist endearingly.

Poppy stiffens, feeling her ears warm at his question. "Yes, well, that was quite nice." Poppy replies quietly, unable to say much of anything else for the time being and he's aware by the sound of his quiet laugh.
