The sand crunched under Undikai's boots as she made her way off the wooden dock. Her eyes had yet to leave the castle, her eyes locked on the waving flags in anticipation. The Captain tipped his hat as he pulled up the anchor.
"You take care of yourself now, Majesty." The captain spoke, placing his cap over his chest.
"I will. Thank you, captain."
Undikai spoke back, saluting the captain as the boat drifted away. Once the boat seemed far out, Undikai pulled herself onto her horse, taking the reins before riding out into a clear trail of grass.
This was nerve-wracking. Undikai hadn't been to Hyrule since she was a young little thing... which was over a century ago. She had no maps recorded, and she dared not send out some explorers or botanists, for fear that something dangerous could be encountered. She would rather herself encounter such a thing than her scientists.
Her horse trotted along the path, or what path it could walk on. Overgrown with flora it was, the horse having to watch its feet constantly. It seemed it would take a long ride to arrive at the mainland. Undikai looked up at the sky, attempting to judge how many hours she'd have to make it to her destination.
"Hm.. I think I may have time." Undikai mumbled to no one in particular. She flicked the reigns once again, pacing her horse faster this time. After about 20 minutes or so of riding, a building came into view. It seemed to have lights up inside, which signaled there were awake individuals in the building. It was round with a pointed base, and many flags and crates surrounding the structure. It seemed to have a counter and two doors on the sides.
As Undikai's horse neared the little building, she noticed that the trees seemed to be a bit cooler in color than the vibrant ones of Zelanian. The grass seemed darker as well. But she didn't complain about the change of scenery. It was... nice, in her eyes. She approached the building, and she could see other horses.
"Huh... this is a stable."
She concluded, whispering to herself. She steered the horse to arrive near the front desk do the stable.
Undikai seemed to earn many whispers and looks from the occupants of the area, commenting on her physical attributes, mainly her out-of-the-ordinary grey skin tone. Undikai shrugged it off, knowing it was just some curious individuals wondering about a person they had yet to see.
She approached the front of the stable when a man with an odd-looking hat came and leaned up on the counter. "Welcome to East Akkala Stable! You sure are exotic! Which region are you from?" He asked with a jolly tone.
"I'm not from the area. I come from a neighboring kingdom about 40,000 miles North."
The man's eyes widened, his mouth forming an "O" shape in response to the bewildering fact.
"Well, well, welcome to Hyrule my friend! What can I do for you?"
He asked, leaning on the counter further. He had a smile on his face... Undikai seemed to study him a bit since this man looked different than what she was used to. She normally saw people with hair and skin of rainbow-like colors, from pink to purple, yellow to brown, and more.
"I'd like to know directions to Hyrule castle if that's possible."
Undikai asked, straightening her back. She tried not to draw attention, but her clothing of trousers and vests and jewels may have been giving away she was an individual of status.
"Oh, that way, past the river down through the forest and you'll be able to see your way from there."
Undikai looked the way the man had pointed. She nodded in thanks to him before tugging her horse's reigns, kicking up the dust behind her as she remembered the stable guy's directions, word by word.
"Link, look at this!"
Zelda called out to her knight. Link rushed over, tilting his head as Zelda scooted to the side. She pointed to a picture with murky letters.
"The Zelanian Royals have been a long-living bloodline for centuries. Legend has it, the one in the bloodline who suffers the greatest will be born with immortality."
She read off, before pointing to a sketched picture of a Zelanian king. He wore a black, woven, cone-like hat that was wide and covered his eyes. Charms of pearls and little pieces of paper with lettering dangled from it. He seemed to be dressed in a navy blue robe that served as an underpiece. Over it was a black, white line-covered robe that tied with a huge red wrap at the waist. Over the ending of the sleeves, where the hands should be, was a long piece of cloth with inscriptions exactly to the one that littered the king's hat.
Beside him, was a woman. She had long pink hair that cascaded into purple, her hair littered with silver and gold headpieces. She had light pink skin and magenta eyes, and a thin, youthful frame. She wore a light green robe, which under it was a white one. The wrap that tied her robes in place was a deep purple, with a white ribbon which beads of presumably, obsidian dangled.
And between the two, was a young child. It seemed to be a girl. She had short, fluffy, choppy hair that was a dark grey, and had a green ribbon thing back a braid. She wore a white shirt that had a silver lace-up front, and a jabot around her neck that was a deep red. She wore dark trousers and an ornament-covered belt around her waist. She also wore white and light blue boots.
"Link.. what do you think about this? And what do you think Gannon's malice was doing in this section of the book?" Zelda enthusiastically asked. Link shrugged, tapping his chin. Zelda slid her bookmark onto the page before closing the book.
"This must be important later! I'll keep it tabbed for further use." Link nodded at Zelda's words, affirming that the Queen's tactics may prove useful in the future.
