Four A.M. in the morning
Carried away by a moonlight shadow
He fought it as long as he could, in the end, she had him. She was always one step ahead because she knew too much and he, obviously didnt know enough.
"Kag," He growled as his eyes grew heavy. He could not recall the last time he felt this heavy, this, tired. "Ome,"
She sighed as she watched him go limp, lowering her bow. An odd sense of de ja vue rushed over her and she wondered, was this how Kikyo felt?
No, that was different. Very different.
She wasn't in love with this man and she wasn't bleeding to death.
She could leave him like that or free him. The power she had over him, it scared her and so she slowly walked up to him and looked this slightly younger version over. Part of her wondered if she should leave him like this but she knew she needed help, even if the help was trying to kill her, again.
Kagome reached up to the arrow and wrapped her hand around it and then with a simple breath it vanished and he dropped and she was unprepared and fell back and he with her.
Suddenly she was on the ground, on her back and he was on top of her but he caught himself. His hands were on either side of her head and he was straddling her right leg and his hair was all around. The magic was still strong and his golden eyes were not open wide. She thought she would see anger but he just looked sleepy and yet this gaze was still intense. She put her hands up as if his arms were going to give out, but they weren't.
Though it was foggy he knew his eyes had not been closed long.
His hand moved, gently wrapping around her neck. She arched slightly. The sight would make anyone who didnt know what was going on blush.
He squeezed slightly and her hands hummed with power, in warning.
"If I die you die with me," Kagome said bravely,
He growled but loosened his hold on her neck, it was clear, that her threat held truth.
Her power vanished and her eyes drifted to his moon. She had never seen it this close-up.
In the village Kikyo could feel it, both the soul and the demon. Her younger sister tugged on her pants "What is it sister Kikyo?"
Kikyo narrowed her eyes, she didnt like it, she didnt know what it was but she didnt like it. The demon she was feeling was powerful but so was the girl, why was the demon not dead, but more importantly, why wasn't the girl? Why was she here? How was she here and how did she hold part of her soul?
It meant but one thing. That she was to die.
Kikyo eyed the fog of the night, waiting.
Sesshomaru sat back on his heels and Kagome sat up rubbing her neck "I need your help,"
"Very well,"
She looked with slightly narrowed eyes "You gave in awfully fast,"
"The quicker you finish this the quicker you die,"
Her eyes changed, the hurt was quick and evident which baffled him greatly. Kagome huffed and looked away.
"What do you require at this time,"
"For you to jump off a cliff," She said under her breath,
"That would be pointless as this one can fly,"
"I hate you, you know that!" She glared at him,
He stood "It grows late,"
She calmed "I need you to talk to Kikyo,"
"I do not make it a habit of talking to Miko's."
"I want to stop this before anyone dies,"
"She was meant for death,"
"But-"
"If she does not die, you do not live."
Kagome's lips parted as the fog rolled in and then they could not longer see each other.
Sesshomaru looked around but she was gone, but when one Miko vanishes and another shows up.
Kikyo stood behind him and he turned to look at her.
"You let her live,"
He almost smirked. He might not been able to kill Kagome, but this one on the other hand had to die.
She saw the glint in his eye, the thirst for someone's blood.
"It's too soon," She stated and he narrowed his eyes. She didn't know how she knew, but she knew.
"If she is here then I die,"
"Hn," He turns fully to her,
"Why is she here,"
"A soul for a soul," He states,
"Not mine,"
He didnt care.
She turns from him.
"Foolish of you to turn your back on me,"
"I am not afraid,"
"You should be,"
"Perhaps another day," Kikyo vanishes.
Sesshomaru feels heavy again, Kagomes magic was indeed strong. He returns to the West and seeks his bed and at 4 am he rests his head and though he hopes to dream of killing not one, but two Mikos, he finds that he only dreams of one, her under him, with his hand gently around her neck, between his plump breast a jewel.
