When Harvey returns from Donna, he decides to check a few emails before heading to bed. He notices a new detail on the recent case that infuriates him. He immediately calls Mike.

Mike picks up, his voice tinged with concern. "Harvey, hey, what's up? It's late. Are you alright?"

"Mike, yeah, I'm fine. Sorry for the late call. I just got an email— Tanner is back."

"Tanner? What's he doing here? I thought we got rid of him. We haven't heard from him in years."

"He's taken over a case I was working on because the other guy had an accident."

"Bad?"

"I don't know. What I do know is that Tanner is an even bigger jerk than the last guy. I hated dealing with him before, and now I have to handle this idiot, who's a thousand times worse."

"What do you need me to do?"

"I need to know what he's been up to these last few years. Everything."

"I'm on it," Mike says, turning to leave.

The Next Morning – 7:30 AM

"Did you sleep at all?" Rachel asks as she enters the living room.

"No, not really. I made coffee if you want some," Harvey replies.

"You're the best," she says, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Good morning."

"Morning," he answers, kissing her back.

"Did you find something?"

"Enough, but nothing about his personal life. I'm waiting for a friend to get back to me. He wanted to dig into Tanner's life."

A few minutes later, Mike receives an email from his friend and opens it. "Oh my god. I don't believe it," Mike says, shocked.

"What is it?" Rachel asks, confused. "That bad?" She approaches him.

"Worse." He looks up at his wife. "Did you know about this?" he asks, turning the display to her.

8:00 AM

"Donna, what are you doing here?" Harvey asks as she enters his office.

"We need to talk, Harvey."

"Yeah, I know, but not right now. I'm really sorry."

"Please, it's urgent. I should've told you weeks ago."

"Donna, I understand, but if it could wait until now, it can wait a few more hours. I have a meeting with a real jerk who's willing to do anything to win."

"But—"

"Remember when I told you Hardman was the worst? I was wrong. It's Tanner."

"Tanner?" Donna repeats, shocked, looking at Harvey with wide eyes.

Just then, Tanner enters Harvey's office with a huge grin. "Harvey! I'd say it's nice to see you again, but I'd be lying. Donna?" He looks surprised. "What are you doing here?"

Harvey looks just as confused as Tanner.

"God, I missed you so much," Tanner says, approaching Donna, placing a kiss on her cheek, and hugging her. Donna stands there, frozen.

"You two know each other?" Harvey asks, his voice unsure and confused.

"Better than you think," Tanner answers. "Donna is my wife."

Harvey feels as if he's been stabbed in the heart. "Wife?" He looks at Tanner in shock, then turns his gaze to Donna, who is still standing there, her eyes filling with tears. "You're married?" he manages to ask.

"Harvey, I—"

"Get out of here... both of you."

"Wait... you two?" Tanner realizes, shocked. "Donna, are you serious? HIM?"

"We are apart," she defends herself.

"You said you needed time?" he yells.

"I don't care about your marriage problems. Leave my office now!" Harvey yells. Just then, Mike enters the office, already knowing what is going on.

"What kind of person are you?" Mike asks Donna, shaking his head.

"Mike, I—"

"You heard him... get out!"

"Harvey, I—"

"I want to be alone, Mike." The younger lawyer nods and is about to leave when Harvey speaks up.

"You knew?"

"Yeah, I just found out a few minutes ago."

"Why didn't you call me?"

"I didn't want to tell you that on the phone."

"You did great, Mike," he says sarcastically. "This way was much better," he says in an accusing tone.

"Harvey, I— I'm sorry, I didn't know he was already here."

"Anyway," Harvey states, "what's this?" he points at the papers Mike is holding.

"Uh, proof for the case and details on... his personal life."

"I need them."

"Harvey, the case, it's not important—"

"I have a job to do and I want to know everything about them."

"Okay," Mike agrees, placing the papers on Harvey's desk. "If you need something, just give me a call," he says before leaving.

10:00 AM

Harvey, who can't bear being inside anymore, gets out to get some fresh air as Donna calls his name. He ignores it, walking straight ahead.

"Harvey, please, wait."

"What?" he snaps at her.

"Let me explain."

"There's nothing to explain. You're married and you didn't mention it. What do you want to explain?"

"I am sorry."

"Yeah, you already said that, but it's not an explanation."

"I was scared. Between us… everything went so fast and it was so perfect that… I missed the right time."

Harvey laughs sarcastically. "You missed the right time? Are you listening to yourself? There was a man waiting for you to come home, while you pretended across the country to another man you were single and happy kind of person are you?" he shouts.

"I am sorry."

"No, I regret trusting you. This," he gestures between them, "was the biggest mistake of my life… and it's over now."

"I never meant to lie at you, let alone hurt yoo," she says, her voice trembling.

"Well, you did, and now leave me alone. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore… or better yet, get your husband and go back to where you came from."

"Not before I beat you in this case," Tanner responds from behind.

"Travis, just go," Donna warns angrily.

"No, I'm going," Harvey shakes his head. "Not caring about anyone else, hurting innocent people, thinking only of themselves… you two truly deserve each other."

"Harv—" she trails off as he walks away.

At midday, Mike goes home. He forgot some files in the morning when he wanted to get to Harvey asap.

"Hey, your files are on the table," Rachel tells him as she hears him coming in. She and Donna are sitting on the couch, Donna recounting her attempt to talk to Harvey.

"Hey, Rach— what are you doing here?" he snaps at Donna the second he sees her.

"Mike… is he okay?" Donna asks.

"As if you'd care."

"Mike," Rachel calls softly.

"What? If she cared about his feelings, she wouldn't have lied to him all these weeks."

"I am sorry."

"I don't care. Pack up your things and leave my condo."

"Donna, you don't have to—"

"Yes, she has to!" Mike shouts. "It's my condo and I don't want her here."

"It's my condo too," Rachel contradicts.

"Well, either she leaves or I do."

"It's okay, Rachel, he has a point. I'll go."

"That's a bit too harsh, don't you think?" Rachel accuses him.

"How can you be on her side?" Mike asks, not understanding his wife's behavior.

"She's my friend."

"And Harvey is my friend. I thought he was yours too."

"He is my friend!" Rachel shouts.

"Yeah, your actions are saying something else… you know what, do whatever you want, but I don't want to see her here anymore," he snaps, making his way to go back to the firm as he almost runs over their daughter.

"Are you mad at each other?" Lucy asks sadly, they hadn't seen her standing at the kitchen counter listening and seeing everything.

Mike takes a deep breath. "No, honey, we're not."

"But you yelled."

"I am just mad at Donna and let it out on Mom, I am sorry," he explains, looking at Rachel when apologizing.

"I am sorry too," she approaches them, placing a kiss on each of their cheeks.

"I am mad at Donna too, but she's my friend too and she has no one else here."

"She can go to Tanner. I'm pretty sure he's good at comforting her." Rachel throws him a 'we just made up' look.

"I should better leave," he states and kisses them. "See you later."

"Mom, is Donna not Uncle Harvey's friend anymore?"

"No, honey, she's not. She lied to him and now Uncle Harvey is mad because, you know, lying is something bad."

"Yeah," she nods. "Can I go and comfort him?"

Rachel smiles. "Later, honey, when we go to the party at the firm," she tells her in hopes Harvey will show up, despite what Donna did.

Late afternoon, 6:00 PM

Harvey sits alone in his office. It's already 6 PM, and since there is a firm celebration, most employees have left early. Only a few lawyers remain. Mike and Rachel have brought their daughter, Lucy, with them. There is a child area, and they have no babysitter.

"Is Uncle Harvey coming too?" Lucy asks her father.

"No, he can't," Mike says, his voice tinged with sadness and anger toward Donna.

"Why not? It's not as fun without him," she says as they pass Harvey's office.

"But Daddy, he's here," she says, stopping in front of Harvey's office and looking at him through the glass wall. Her godfather doesn't seem to see her. He is looking at some files, his eyes teary.

"I'll go ask him," she speaks up quickly and starts walking toward Harvey's office.

"No, honey," Mike stops her.

"Why not? Doesn't he like me anymore? He always wanted to spend time with me before Donna was here," she says, her voice on the verge of tears.

Mike takes a deep breath and kneels in front of her. "Uncle Harvey loves you more than anything in the world, honey. But today, he is sad, and I think he wants to be alone."

"Can I go and give him a hug? He always says people who are sad need a hug for comfort, and he always gives me a hug."

Mike smiles, hesitantly looking over to his friend. "Okay, go and try to comfort him. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you," he tells his daughter, hoping it's really what Harvey needs right now. Harvey hasn't talked the whole day, and every time Mike tries, Harvey manages to get rid of him.

"Hello, Uncle Harvey," the little girl greets him as she enters his office. He flinches, not having heard her, and swiftly wipes a tear away.

"Lucy?" He looks up at her with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "What are you doing here, sweetie?"

"The party. I wanted to ask if you would come with us."

Harvey smiles softly. "No, not tonight, honey. I am really busy. Would you come back tomorrow?"

She approaches him, ignoring his request. "Why are you crying, Uncle Harvey?" she looks at him with wide blue eyes.

Harvey looks at her, not knowing what to answer. "I am... just tired," he lies.

"But you're crying. Is it because of Donna? Because she's not your friend anymore?"

Harvey looks at her, surprised. "How do you know that?"

"Mommy and Daddy were really loud, and I heard it. Daddy was really mad at her and told her to leave our condo."

Harvey's heart fills with brotherly affection upon hearing what Mike did for him."

"Yeah, it is because of Donna," he admits.

"Do you want a hug? You say hugs help when people are sad."

The lawyer chuckles softly. "That's right. I do say that. And I always want hugs from you," he tells her, picking her up onto his lap. She circles her arms around his neck while he wraps his around her upper body, holding her tight. But as soon as he does so, he can't hold back the tears, and they flow freely.

Lucy pulls back, looking at him. "I didn't want to make you sadder," she says sadly.

"You didn't. These are happy tears. You always make me happy," he reassures her quickly.

"Please stop crying," she tells him, wiping his tears away.

"Uncle Harvey?"

"Yeah, honey?"

"I am always your friend, I promise," she hugs him again.

Harvey's heart overflows with gratitude for her presence, which he hadn't realized he needed so much, while being profoundly moved by the depth of her love for him.

"I never liked Donna anyway."

"I don't like her anymore either," he tells her, tightening his hug.

"But why didn't you like her?" she asks curiously.

"Because you liked her more than me."

For Harvey, it feels as if someone kicked him hard in the gut, and he gulps.

"I could never like someone more than you," he tells her in a gentle voice.

"You're my cupcake," he smiles at her, putting her brown curly hair behind her ear.

"Really?" she asks, her voice hopeful.

"Yeah, honey, really," he confirms, pulling her in a hug again.

Mike stands outside watching the scene with a smile on his face. Harvey finally spots him and nods slightly, thanking him for sending her inside.

"Are you sure you don't want to come to the party? It's so boring without you," the little girl asks, looking at him with a hopeful look that Harvey can't ignore.

"You know what? I'm coming. I don't want you to get bored," he smiles and puts her down again. Lucy rushes towards the exit.

"Daddy, Daddy, he's coming too!" she tells her father, beaming all over her face.

"Really?" Mike smiles and is really surprised. "How did you manage that?" he asks.

"Secret," she answers lovingly.

"Oh, okay, I understand," and looks at Harvey. "Are you alright?"

"I'll get there. It's not like we were married or anything," he says and changes the topic quickly. "Lucy, let's hurry, we need to get the best ice cream before it's gone."

"Oh yeah!" she cries out and takes Harvey's hand.

Later in the evening, as Harvey steps outside for some fresh air, he spots Donna entering the building. He immediately turns away but hears Rachel's voice.

"Donna, what are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to him."

"No, not here, not now."

"Rachel, please."

"Donna, I risked a fight with my husband and one of my best friends by letting you stay at our condo today. I did it because I know you're sorry and because you're my friend, but so is Harvey. I won't hurt him by letting him think I don't care about his feelings. I invited you before all of this happened, and you should have known better than to show up here. So please, just go and don't make things worse than they already are."

"Rachel, please—" Donna pleads, her eyes filling with tears.

"No, Donna," Rachel shakes her head. "I'm glad Lucy somehow managed to get him to come. You've already ruined his day, and I won't let you ruin his evening too."

Donna swallows, nodding in agreement. "Okay."

As Rachel turns to go back, she stops abruptly. "Harvey."

"Thank you," he says with a sad smile.

"I'm sorry for what she did, and just so you know, I really didn't know about Tanner. I would never have hidden that from you."

"I know," he assures her.
