Marinette had a plan. Marinette always has plans, which is why she is the perfect ladybug.
In fact, Marinette had lots of plans and Alya went through them with her, because sometimes Marinette makes life harder for herself than it needs to be. That's exactly why Alya is the perfect best friend for Ladybug.

"So; I'm going to meet them one by one and tell them that they might become a father. Then I'm going to put three folders in their hands."
She pointed at her desk. A total of 9 of folders, divided into 3 colours, lay there.

"If they don't want to know anything about your possible child, they'll get the blue folder. I've drawn up a waiver with my lawyers. Just to be on the safe side." She held a blue folder right under Alya's nose, who took it and carefully leafed through it.
This was definitely the work of a whole team of lawyers, someone must have had fun dealing with something other than copyright lawsuits. Alya raised her eyebrows and placed the folder with its two blue counterparts.

"If they want to be involved, they have to take a paternity test. The consent form is the first page of both the green and yellow folders." Marinette waved the two folders in front of Alya's face and she hesitantly took them from her hand.

"For the person who tests positive, there are then two options; visiting rights with the possibility of taking over full supervisory responsibility every second weekend from Friday 14:00 to Sunday 18:00 or co-parenting. This is the yellow folder. It's a bit thicker because there's more to negotiate." Alya opened the yellow folder. Oh yes, someone was definitely having fun wrapping up an entire family life in clauses and rules.

"M? Don't you think you're being a bit too, um... structured? A child is chaos and needs spontaneity. With co-parenting, you even set the times for dinner together. And are these blueprints?" Alya shook her head.
She knew that nothing she said was helping at the moment. She would have to give little nudges during the execution of the plan. But she tried anyway
"What if the father would like to try a relationship with you? Adrien always wanted a family, you've been friends, heck you've fancied him for years, wouldn't this be your chance if he's the father? Have you ever thought about his feelings?"

Marinette fell silent, Alya briefly hoped that her words had got through to her stubborn friend, but then she replied:
"You're right, I haven't thought about his feelings at all! Do you think I should bring a psychologist to the talks?"

If Ladybugs Yoyo had had an Outlook calendar, she would have simply sent Cat Walker appointment requests. So it became messages in which she asked Chat to tell Cat Walker to meet her at the Eiffel Tower next Friday and she let Chat know that she should "tell" him from Marinette that he should meet her at her flat on Saturday evening.

When she messaged Adrien as Marinette, she hesitated briefly. Cat Walker was okay, but a stranger, Chat was her best friend, together against the world, with him she could imagine all the possibilities, but Adrien had been her first love and the teenager in her was fully on Alya's side.

She took a deep breath and blew a loose strand of hair out of her face as she exhaled. He had made the suggestion, but he wasn't ready yet, he had made that clear to her. She didn't feel like waiting any longer.
Lady Luck simply had no luck with timing when it came to love affairs.

Adrien read his messages on his communicator and his mobile phone. He had to smile. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, his lady probably didn't want to waste any time. That was fine with him.

Of course, Nino hadn't known that he had 3 attempts, Adrien had told Nino that he knew the other potential fathers from work and wanted to be kept up to date by them.

So on Friday as Cat Walker he was prepared. As discussed with Nino, a bouquet of flowers for his beloved. Nino had suggested a lot more, but Adrien had to remember that Catwalker hardly knew Ladybug.

8pm at the Eiffel Tower was agreed and he was there on the dot. Ladybug was already there, sitting on the ground with a pencil tucked behind her ear and looking through some papers, mumbling to herself.
Adrien had to smile, now that he knew, he wondered why he had never realised how similar Marinette and his lady actually were.

He cleared his throat briefly, bowed and greeted her with his best model smile; "Good evening, lady!"
She startled and looked at him, then smiled; "Good evening Cat. Thank you for coming! I don't want to beat about the bush. Would you like to sit down?"
Cat Walker knew that he wasn't supposed to know what it was about, so he put on his most confused face possible as he sat down with her. "Is something wrong?" he asked innocently.
"Oh, um, no, yes, yes, everything's fine!" she stammered to herself, then took a deep breath. She recalled the text she had prepared and said, "Well, here's the thing. I'm pregnant. Wow, I know it's a difficult subject, but don't worry. I don't want anything from you. You can just leave, I'd just need a signature here." She slid him a blue folder.

"But of course you can wait for the paternity test. Then I'd need a signature here and this is the kit for a saliva sample." She slipped him a yellow folder and a test kit.
Then she put down another green folder.

"In case you are the father and want to have contact with your child, these two folders contain the options of visitation rights and co-parenting. So, what should it be? Today you just have to decide whether you want a paternity test or not and you can keep the folders. Take your time to look through them, I should have the results in a month."

After this monologue, she took a deep breath, tilted her head and looked at Cat Walker with a friendly smile.

Adrien had known that she wanted to tell him that she was pregnant, but he was completely overwhelmed by this amount of information. So the confused look on his face when he replied was by no means an act: "Um, thanks?"
She seemed to be waiting for more.
"So, yes please, I'd like to do the paternity test."

She pulled the pen from behind her ear. "Then please sign here and open your mouth!"
He couldn't even realise what was happening so quickly, as he already had a test stick in his mouth.

"Perfect. Then take a look at your options and get back to me. Well, I've set up an anonymous mobile phone for this case. The number is on the second page of each folder in the contact details. If you are the father and depending on your choice, we will have no option but to reveal our identities with each other, but it's all in the folders. Read through them, if you have any questions, get in touch!" she paused briefly, he looked confused, in normal circumstances she would have taken the time to talk to him, but she didn't want to influence him, he should make his own decision.
So she simply asked: "Do you have someone you can talk to? I've added the contact details of my psychologist on the last page. He doesn't know anything about our civilian identities but he's trustworthy!"

With that she was done for her part and after Catwalker looked at her with his mouth half open for a minute, he seemed to be too.

"All right, thanks for the chat, see you later! Bug out!" and she was gone.

If he hadn't been sitting, he would have been on his knees by now at the latest.

That was a lot to take in and Marinette had a plan, how was he going to deal with it?
Time for a crisis meeting!
