Hi guys! Today is Larry Day, so here's a short story about him. I hope you all like it! This story takes place after my fanfic "The Crystal Kingdom".

"A game of Tennis?" Ludwig asked Bowser. The Koopa family was in the throne room when they received a letter from Princess Peach.

"Alright! When is it?" Larry asked.

"In two weeks." Bowser replied.

"Great! I should start practicing!" Larry grinned.

"Isn't it kinda weird that the princess invites us to these things even though we attack her kingdom?" Iggy wondered.

Larry chuckled. "Who cares? I get to play my favorite sport! I wonder who my partner will be. I hope it's Daisy!"

"Why Princess Daisy?" Lemmy asked.

"Duh! Because she's, like, the best player ever!" Larry said.

"Well, Luigi did sprain his ankle during our last battle, so you might have a chance." Wendy replied.

Larry grinned and began to run towards the door.

"Where are you going, Larry?" Junior asked.

"To practice! It's been awhile since I've played, so I wanna make sure I'm not rusty!" Larry replied and ran out of the throne room.

The day of the Tennis matches finally arrived and everyone was making their way to Peach Court. Many Toads, Yoshis, Goombas, and other people were buying snacks and making their way to the bleachers to wait for the first match to begin. The players went over to the board to see who their partner was and what team they were playing against.

"Oh sweet. Morton and I are on the same team!" Roy said.

"And we're playing against Peach and Toadette in the first match!" Morton added, giving his twin brother a high five.

Larry impatiently waited in line to see who his teammate was.

"Come on! I gotta see who my partner is. Oh, please let it be Daisy!"

Larry grinned once he made it to the board.

"Finally! Now who's-"

Larry gasped, stopping his sentence. Unfortunately, he was playing against Daisy instead of with her. While her partner was Mario, Larry's partner was..

"Melody?! That puny little mushroom girl!?" Larry exclaimed.

"Hey! This "puny little mushroom girl" helped beat you Koopas and save the Crystal Kingdom!"

Larry turned around to see Melody standing next to him. She wore her normal blue vest and light blue dress, but this time wore white shoes instead of her brown ones. Her long brown hair was also put into twin tails and she wore a light blue visor. Larry scoffed and turned away from her.

"Whatever. Ugh, I can't believe you're my partner!" He grumbled.

Melody rolled her eyes. "Look, I'm not too happy about it either. But, let's just try to get along and have fun, alright?"

"...Fine." Larry sighed.

"Ladies and gentleman! The first match is about to begin!" They heard a Toad say over the intercom.

Roy, Morton, Peach, and Toadette made their way onto the court. Melody looked back at Larry.

"Hey. Since it'll be awhile until we play, you wanna get a snack?" She asked.

"Uh sure." Larry replied. Melody smiled and they walked over to the concession stand.

Larry and Melody watched as the first match started to end. The audience cheered, seeing that Toadette and Peach won.

"How the heck did we lose?!" Roy exclaimed as he and Morton walked off of the court. Larry laughed at this, making Roy hit him when he walked by. Larry spilled a little bit of his juice thanks to Roy.

"Aw man..." Larry grabbed a napkin and wiped off the spilled juice.

"Oh! Looks like Yoshi and Birdo are next." Melody said.

"Who are they playing against again?" Larry asked.

Before Melody could respond, a Boo and a Koopa Paratroopa flew onto the court.

"Oh right." Larry said and ate the rest of his popcorn.

Finally it was time for Melody and Larry to play. The two kids grabbed their tennis rackets and made their way onto the court. Daisy and Mario followed after and walked on the other side. Larry glanced around and saw the rest of his family on the bleachers cheering him on. He waved to them and looked back at his opponents.

"You two ready?" Mario asked.

"Yeah!" Larry and Melody replied in unison.

"Great! Good luck you guys!" Daisy grinned.

"Good luck to you too!" Melody said.

A Lakitu flew by and handed Melody a tennis ball. Melody then served, beginning the game. Mario hit the ball, making it fly passed Larry.

"Shoot!" Larry said. Mario and Daisy cheered as they got a point.

The game continued, with Mario and Daisy getting another point.

"Don't worry! We can do this!" Melody said to Larry.

Larry nodded and focused on the game.

Melody and Larry began to improve as they played, which made them happy. They now have one three points and the score was 40-40. Larry wiped the sweat off his brow and looked at the score board.

"Ok. The game's almost over. We can do this!" Larry snapped out of his thoughts as Daisy hit the ball. He ran and hit it. Mario tried to hit the ball, but missed it.

The audience cheered as Larry and Melody got another point, Larry's family being the loudest. Larry chuckled softly and hit the tennis ball again. Daisy hit the ball once it got to her and it flew towards Melody.

"I got it!" Melody hit the tennis ball and it flew near Daisy. The princess tried to hit it, but missed.

Larry gasped. "We-We did it! We won!"

Melody smiled as the crowed cheered and clapped for them. "Yeah! We sure did!"

Mario and Daisy walked over to them and shook their hands.

"Good job guys! You guys were great!" Daisy said.

"Heh thanks!" Larry replied. Mario and Daisy walked off of the court and went to talk to Luigi and Peach.

Larry and Melody left the court to grab some water.

"You were pretty good." Larry said.

"Oh. Thanks." Melody replied, blushing slightly. Larry noticed this and smirked.

"Well, I guess I'll admit I was wrong about you. Heh. I'd like to play a game with ya again." Larry said and gave Melody a fist bump.

"Yeah! That'd be fun!" Melody giggled.

Larry and Melody sat down to rest and watched the next game, feeling great that they won and glad that they were finally getting along.

I'm not into sports so I had to look up some things on Tennis. I hope it made sense...The next story will be up tomorrow!
