Transformers Prime: Crosswire Dimensions

Chapter 01: Convention Con!

We see a car driving across the wide open highway before zooming in to see who's there. Turns out that June Darby was driving, and we spot her son Jack Darby in the passenger seat. And in the backseat we spot Miko watching out the window and Raf using his lab top to pass the time.

"Jack I'm glad you decided to come with me on this trip." June smiled to her son for the thoughtful invite to join her.

"No problem mom, I'm sure being invited to partake in a medical conference is a huge step." Jack exclaimed on knowing how important this was for his mom who's a nurse.

"I know, right?" June smiled from sounding excited. "I'm just surprised your friends wanted to tag along?" She looked to the back at those finding ways to be distracted.

"No biggy! And it's happening in NEW YORK CITY!" Miko grip her hands from sounding super excited. "I've wanted to see the sites for a long time." She admit the suspense was killing her.

"I thought you guys already saw New York?" Raf looked to Miko and Jack, recalling they been to the state on a mission.

"I'm not sure exploring the subways beneath the Big Apple is what tourist talk about?" June shrug off her shoulders to feel how that time her son went was anything but a work trip for the Autobots. "But thank William for getting me the chance to expand my career." She change the subject on who she's thankful on why they are going to a medical conference.

"You deserve it mom, I know things have been rough during…" Jack was trying to figure how to phrase this part but…

"The Decepticons…Jack, now that the Autobots have won their war, peace can begin." June smiled to pat her son's shoulder to ease the tension. "And let me tell you, we can all use a break." She tried to sound optimistic and funny about the timing.

"Yeah, but it's been majorly boring without them." Miko drop her shoulders to feel like the excited life they had vanished: about the time when the Autobots went back to their home planet.

"Well Agent Fowler is having the Autobots visit from time to time rebuilding their world and to help deal with some secret agent work." Raf pointed out a matter of what the Autobots do on rare moments.

"Which WE outta be getting into? Agent Fowler even offered us a spot as Unit: E." Miko protest from feeling like they are missing out on the action as secret agents.

"That is still up for debate." June firmly protest about letting children join a secret agency full of unknown danger.

"Come on guys, let's not get into it. Besides, we're here." Jack stated to cut the issue when seeing something ahead of them.

Soon the car passes a sign saying 'Welcome To New York' as everyone drove over a bridge. After a few hours of driving through traffic, June pulled her car near a bus stop by a hospital area to let the kids get out and approach the driver side.

"Alright, I better get going. I know the conference might bore you, so Jack will be in charge." June gave a little pep-talk while asking her son to be in charge. "Meet back here around dinner time, until then….enjoy the sights." She smiled while setting up a date for them to come back later today.

"Thanks mom, see you soon." Jack smiled as he waved his hand when his mother drove off. "Okay, I guess we decide where to go?" He turns to the group to figure their next move.

"Oh-oh! Let's go see the spot with the really big cannons!" Miko raised her hand wanting to see something really cool.

"Seriously? You wanna go where there's been a battle?" Jack looked to Miko with an odd look: perhaps they really have been around the Transformers too long. "What about you Raf?" He looked to the youngest, hoping for an easier suggestion.

"There's actual a convention going on, they'll have a lot of stuff I wanted to try some computer skills on." Raf stated to have his lab top display a con convention: costumes, TV shows, games, tournaments, etc.

"Oh, do they have any video games we can try?!" Miko asked from having become slightly intrigued.

"Well, I suppose that probably beats seeing big cannons….and other sorts of stuff tied to war." Jack lightly smiled from seeing how things developed. "Okay Raf, you're our GPS, lead the way." He asked to have the little genius show them the way.

The three children soon take a cab that brought them straight to New York Marriott Marquis. The place was 100,000 square-feet of dedicated events space and design to bring one's meeting or even conventions to life. And boy was there a HUGE convention happening that so many areas were occupied by different types: Film Events, Television Events, Game Events, Tournament Events, Fantasy Events, Science Events, Role-Play Events, Costume Events, and the list goes on. Jack, Miko and Raf acquired a map guide to show them from bathroom, restaurants, and exit spots, they were debating while browsing of what's around them.

"Hugh, you know after hanging with alien robots, this place kinda grows on you." Jack stated from looking at the giant size figures; some resemble science-fiction robots. "You know, dealing with all kinds of crazy stuff and all that." The guy tried to explain this as best he could.

"And check out all the cool stuff they got!" Miko points to the map on events and places to shop. "Ohh, what if we get some costumes and go around cosplaying and win contestant!" The girl sounded very excited about trying something new. "I wonder if Agent Fowler still has that Apex Armor I could borrow?" She tap her chin to ponder a loan of such 'costume' to go as.

"No way he let you have that." Raf stated on how crazy that sounds.

"And besides, that's cheating. It's a costume you wear for fun, not an alien mech suit to smash stuff." Jack points out another matter of importance.

"Pff, nobody would know a real alien product if it was staring you in the face." Miko brushed off the matter like nobody would know the difference.

"That and you be walking around almost three to five times your actual height." Jack pointed out what could draw a crowd.

"Fine. But I like something exciting to happen, you know." Miko moans with cross arms while wanting anything that could thrill her heart out.

"Hey you guys!" Then a big muscular black man with black buzz-cut hair and brown eyes, and was seen wearing dark boots, light blue jean pants, white short-sleeve shirt. He also wore an orange construction sleeveless vest jacket, black fingerless gloves, and a yellow construction hard hat.

"Vogel!?" Jack and Miko replied surprise of who they ended up meeting here.

"Hey Vogel, how you been…?" Jack smiled nervously from not expecting such an encounter after their last meeting.

"Great, I been doing my part towards investigation of things the government wants to keep on the down low." Vogel stated on what he's been up to since he last saw Jack and Miko.

"Right, you were deputized as an honorary agent for the department of interstellar relations." Miko lightly moved her right index finger on stating how that event happen.

"Yep, I been doing my part while keeping on the down low." Vogel proudly stated his work on doing his part.

"Right, Jack and Miko brief me up about your involvement." Raf lightly stated on having heard about Vogel; and trying to not get him too involved about the Transformers existence.

"Wow, you're involved too. You sure are lucky little guy." Vogel stated on meeting Raf for the first time. "So what are you doing here? Another alien secret mission?" He whispered this to keep talks quiet.

"Ugh, you could say?" Jack sheepishly shrug off the shoulders: not gonna say the truth of the matter.

"Oh that reminds me, while you guys been off the grid, I been doing some research lately." Vogel stated on wanting to tell the kids something important.

"You're…research?" Raf raised an eyebrow when hearing this.

"I been searching for anything that looks suspicious, you know, alien like things. And so I came here to inspect everything that's being blended to the surroundings." Vogel explained what he's doing here; doing a little investigating act of any alien objects in plain sight.

"You do realize this is just a convention, right? All special effects and such? They may have some pretty convincing fake stuff?" Jack raised an eyebrow to explain what to expect might not be real.

"Ahhh, but that's what others wants us to believe. But you never know who can be secretly selling alien gizmos for a black market gig." Vogel issued from having the perfect conspiracy theory to back his claim. "So far I've taken pictures of everything this place has." Vogel pulled a phone to begin showing the pictures he's taken.

"Wow, you really went all over?" Miko lightly stated to pretend to be impressed. ""

"Hmm?" Raf saw something from a photo but didn't see enough of it. "Hey, Vogel, can you maybe go back a bit?" The boy asked for a favor on what he wish to see.

"Sure thing." Vogel replied to back track it up on the pictures on the phone.

As Vogel moved the pictures on his phone, Raf stopped him and borrowed it to enlarge a certain area; the children saw something very familiar. A large size oval capsule case almost big enough to be 8-10 feet tall and weight maybe 400 pounds. It has a familiar design and an inner turquoise metal color. Being with the Transformers, the humans recall those were capsules from Cybertron that sent objects to Earth: many were relics, artifacts, even dangerous weapons.

"Guys, is that a…" Raf was about to say with a worried look.

"Yeah, it's one of those cases that contain objects from Cybertron." Jack firmly nods the head, knowing this was serious.

"But I thought there were no more of them?" Miko raised an eyebrow, thinking they found them all.

"Must have missed one. Vogel, where did you take this picture?" Jack stated before asking the man for his help.

"Oh that's easy, I'll show you." Vogel replied to eagerly help those show his findings.

SOMETIME LATER

Jack, Miko and Raf follow Vogel as he shows them the spots he was in while retracing his steps. It wasn't long before reaching a science fiction con location. Many things are here that one expects to find at a science theme con conventions. There were outer space star ceilings with dangling planets and spaceships, followed by alien theme worlds and creatures. And they approach a both with what appears to be a display of mechanical weaponry and armor plating, along with certain binders with pictures of other things. But there was a large pickup truck with something covering a large object.

"Well, where is it?" Miko asked from not seeing the alien metal container.

"I think it's underneath that tarp." Raf points from suspecting what's left conveniently kept hidden.

"Okay, we need to inspect to find out if it's really…" Jack whispered to the group on how to approach this…

"Really what?" Then another voice was heard that made the children turn to see a lightly tan with silver comb hair and blue eyes. Wears a gray jacket with the sleeves rolled up, under the jacket has a brown vest with a white collared shirt underneath it. The collared shirt is unbuttoned and goes down to the knees. Under the vest and collared shirt wore a partially tucked in yellow shirt. Appears to have long sleeves that go past the elbows. Over the jacket wears a hexagonal pocket watch. Has grey pants, but has a gun holster on the right thigh. Has brown sneakers with a yellow stripe down each side. Has a watch on the left wrist. "Can I help you?" The man asked with some friendly expression but looked like he has something to hid.

"Yes, mister…" Jack replied with a nervous expression when meeting this stranger.

"Jack, but I go by the name Handsome Jack." The guy introduced himself as a man of business. "You dig?" He showed a sly grin that seems very sneaky.

"Wow, huh…same name as me?" Jack lightly stated to rub his back head when hearing the guy's name match his.

"Oh, you're a Jack too? Well, maybe not as handsome, but you're young." Handsome Jack lightly stated while making some sarcastic joke. "So what are you folks doing here?" He asked from getting down to business here.

"Ugh, yes…we came to check out your booth…." Raf tried to put up a face to show they are curious of what's for sale.

"Right, our friend here was talking about your amazing stuff that looks so real." Miko pointed to Vogel nearby who was busy taking more pictures of other 'weird' stuff.

"Oh I got plenty of stuff, see anything you like?" Handsome Jack offered the stuff around his booth.

"Um, yeah…what's behind that sheet?" Raf asked from pointing at the big mystery kept hidden.

"Ohhh, sorry to bust your bubble there. But I already got buyers for that beauty that's kept under wraps." Handsome Jack exclaimed from shooting down the eagerness of those with curious minds. "I got plenty of other stock, but first comes first serve, and late buyers gotta deal with the leftovers." The guy had a very strange sales pitch on running business.

"Wah, are you sure? I mean, we can double the price if it's really nice?" Jack yelped a bit while trying to show their interest.

"We'll even TRIPLE it if it's something rare and unique!" Miko eagerly offered they raise the buy to purchase the goods.

"Hah, that's cute. And how exactly are a couple of kids gonna afford my biggest and most expensive merchandise?" Handsome Jack laughs off while rhetorically asking a question on the spot.

"Um, are you maybe selling it through online? Maybe then we could out bid them with legal credit money and…" Raf was about to suggest another way, but…

"Look, you seem nice kids, but you gotta know the ropes of business. And my sales are FINAL!" Handsome Jack cuts the moment down without batting an eye. "Come by again later or tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I'll have something else. Hahahah…." The guy waved off before laughing as he went behind his booth to do some work.

"Tch, what a jerk." Miko frowns at the rudeness of the guy. "And to think he turn down extra cash. Who does that?" She complains about how the guy turn down more money then who was buying first.

"Yeah but why would he have these things here and keep something out of sight while waiting for buyers?" Jack scratch his chin from thinking this seem a little too suspicious.

"Maybe we can check it out. We just need a distraction." Raf suggest a way they can get answers.

"Hmmm, I got it!" Miko smiled with a sneaky expression on having an idea. "Hey Vogel, wanna help out on this secret undercover mission?" She called out to Vogel nearby to join them.

"For the cause, you bet'cha." Vogel smiled from willing to play any part to help.

Now the children whispered their plan to Vogel while Handsome Jack was checking his phone for any message updates. But what he didn't know, was that Vogel picked up one of his products and approach him.

"Say buddy, how much is this thing going for? 100 Bucks?" Vogel asked from waving around some alien tech rifle product.

"My name is Handsome Jack. And that thing is worth 1000 dollars." Handsome Jack exclaimed from firmly explaining a brief topic.

"No kidding? Ain't that a bit much for a prop?" Vogel raised an eyebrow from thinking the price was a little outrageous.

"That prop is well made. It's value is the same as real rifles, only more authentic and well made." Handsome Jack explained that the product is worth as much as the real thing it's based from.

"So…did you spend like what, a 1000 bucks making one and all you ask is 1000 instead?" Vogel asked from thinking that's no different from spending and earning the same price range. "You know mach, I think you're making a pretty poor sales choice?" He states that maybe Handsome Jack needs help in the business.

"And why would I care about the ideals from a construction worker?" Handsome Jack raised an eyebrow to debate with someone who's not a businessman.

"First off, I'm a Street Sweeper in New York subway underground system. Completely different from construction." Vogel points out the major difference of what he's dress on his career.

While Vogel was distracting Handsome Jack, the man never saw the three kids slipping behind the booth to go under the large sheet in the pickup truck. They found the Cybertronian container, and Jack and Miko try to open it up from the top, but it's really sealed tightly.

"Urrrgh….no good. It's stuck tight?" Jack groans from having a hard time getting this open.

"Come on, it's like opening a jar of pickles." Miko brushed off thinking it's like opening a tough jar on a daily basis.

"Yeah, if we were bots. But this thing is not so easy." Jack exclaimed to remind Miko this was a container for Transformers to open, not human beings.

"Hey guys, how about this." Raf brought some oil can product with a racing car theme. "It's a special oil from that motor con we passed earlier about racer's top quality engine care, thought it might help open this thing." The boy explained why he picked up such a thing.

"Way to go Raf. You the man!" Miko cheered for the little guy bringing out the surprising helpful aid.

"Let's quickly apply it and then see if this is the real deal." Jack quickly has them act so they can finish this.

Once applying the said oil, Jack and Miko worked to pull the top container's lid…until it finally pops off. Slowly the kids use a large blanket they took nearby to help them conceal whatever's inside the container. But as they moved the lid to slip in to get to work, the lid was moving slowly until it began to fall when the kids noticed it. "CRASH!" A heavy impact from the top of the metal capsule hit the ground near the unseen side of the pickup truck.

"What was that?" Handsome Jack looked to where he found that noise suspicious.

"Ohh, maybe that's a demonstration of the metal mole men happening. Have you heard about it?" Vogel exclaimed from sounding excited to talk about something he's got a field in.

"Metal Mole Men? Does that even make sense?" Handsome Jack raised an eyebrow on having heard such a silly thing.

"Well you never know?" Vogel shrug off the shoulders to admit, it could be real.

Back with the kids, they managed to quickly haul something covered in a blanket: Jack lead front, Miko in the rear and Raf in the middle. They were struggling to carry something heavy and kept it conceal. And luckily Vogel saw it before the guy he's distracting did, and knew what needed to be done.

"Hey, I gotta get going. Say, you free to talk about conspiracy theories?" Vogel issued to say while offering the guy a chance to talk more later.

"Haha…some other time, if you're not gonna buy, then it's time to say bye-bye…" Handsome Jack slightly smiled while showing an annoyed tone of a businessman at work.

While Vogel takes his money out to pay for the item, the big man slips away while Handsome Jack checks his phone. Once Vogel spotted the three kids, he approaches them in a hallway and spots the blanket covered object they carried. The kids seem tired out, mostly because the object was heavy for them.

"Hey you kids manage to get your secret mission done? I help purchase one of these alien gizmos." Vogel asked this while showing off the prop tech rifle he got from Handsome Jack.

"We did, thanks Vogel." Raf smiled to thank the big guy for his help.

"But it's….really heavy." Miko exclaimed from struggling to continue carrying the object.

"Oh here, let me get that." Vogel stated as he helped put his muscle figure to the test and haul the blanket object on the shoulder. "There you go, where too?"

"Okay, let's find someplace a little bit with less people around." Jack suggest what they do next in a place without crowds.

"I know just the place, follow me." Vogel issued to say on having thought up a place.

The kids followed Vogel for a while making sure nobody noticed them go through a no entry spot. And then went through a door that lead them straight towards…a hotel's pool!

"A pool? That's your idea of a secret spot?" Jack raised an eyebrow, finding this place might not be secure enough.

"Yeah, with everything going on folks don't have time to go swimming." Vogel replied from thinking that folks wanna browse conventions so the place be closed.

"He's got a point there." Miko shrug off to optimistically agree on the argument.

"Okay, I guess if no one is up for any swimming lessons, let's take another look at what we got." Jack rubs his back head to accept the hiding place and focus on what they retrieved.

Slowly Vogel placed the blanket down and unfolds it to reveal the hidden object it's self. It looks like an alien tech yellow disc platform that's wide enough for at least four adults to stand on. And in the center was a red sphere glass which contain a strange ancient gem-like artifact inside.

"Woah, this thing is something else? It's even got some alien writing on it." Vogel points to see some strange written marks on the alien tech.

"Raf, any luck translating this?" Jack asked the smart one of their group who was looking it up on his labtop.

"Um, I went through the old Cybertron databanks on Transformers spelling, and…" Raf stated from having browse through enough to come to a conclusion. "The only words it makes out says…D.M.V.?" The guy fix his glasses while sounding puzzled.

"Wait, like Department of Motor Vehicles?" Miko raised an eyebrow completely disbelief on what she heard. "Seems kinda on the noise for bots that turn into vehicles?" She rest her hands on her hips when commenting on such a quota.

"Sorry, I need more time to figure it out?" Raf apologize from having just started to translate what the DMV device is.

"Well let's just hope we have enough before someone notices we took this?" Jack firmly stated with a serious tone, knowing time was ticking because of what they done.

MEANWHILE

The scene reopens to where Handsome Jack closed his booth while checking his special cargo. Only to discover under the large sheet he yanked off, the large container was opened. And when the guy climbs up to inspect, saw the thing inside was gone. This upset the man, but then his phone was ringing and he saw who it was before answering.

"Yes?" Handsome Jack answered his phone on who's calling.

"Is the item secured?" A male voice was heard on the other line.

"Yeah, it seems like someone else got a bit snoopy and opened the container." Handsome Jack grimly explains this when looking at something of his that was mishandled.

"What?" The male voice replied with an unhappy tone.

"But don't worry, they couldn't have gone far. It took a forklift to put this thing on my ride." Handsome Jack smiled to ease the caller's worries. "So whatever was inside would take either a few people or someone strong to lift the contents." He assures his buyer that whoever took the prize couldn't go too far.

"Considering what you had in your possession is what our agents in the field report are containers from the Transformers home world that came to our planet." The male voice sounded furious while making a firm point about the topic of their discussion.

"Yep, I read the intel report too. Got ways of hacking government networks to learn about powerful tools that fetch a heavy price." Handsome Jack exclaimed to talk about his ways of knowing stuff he can use for business.

"Which is why we had only a few of our agents look into finding them, and you stumble into one. Until it was taken!" The male voice argues the problem they have to deal with.

"Look, all we gotta do is find the unique signature of materials that my instruments detected." Handsome Jack assured his buyer that he can find the missing prize. "If you're that worried, send in a couple of your boys to help out. I'll pay up with my products if you provide the muscle." The guy was making a sweet deal on what they each get out of this.

"Very well, whatever the cost…MECH must have the alien tech to revive our organization." The male voice issued on not wanting this chance to slip away.

"Consider it a done deal." Handsome Jack stated while hanging up his phone's end. "Alright my little thieves, I hope you enjoyed the merchandise…" "Cause Handsome Jack is coming to pay you a visit."

Now Handsome Jack turns to look at where his vehicle was, and saw something moving by the tunnel entry point. There were men wearing full body military dark suits of grey and dark-grey, black boots, gloves, armor plating behind the long sleeve jacket, and a breathable mask with spec eye covers. These guys are apart of Mech, and Handsome Jack smiled upon seeing their arrival couldn't be more perfect…
