Avenging Angel

Chapter 7

They had been in the room for what felt like hours. No sound came from outside. The room had one dim light. Angela frequently looked over to check on Lucy. Lucy had decided to go to sleep while they waited. She had said they did not know what Elijah was going to do and that they should rest in case they were able to fight. She wasn't wrong. But Angela didn't want to wake up to him in the room. She didn't want anything to happen to Chen, so she watched over her as she slept.

Elijah finally came back into the room. As the door closed, she could hear music from the other room. So she knew the room was sound-proofed. She wasn't happy to learn this detail. If they couldn't hear out, then most likely no one could hear what happened within. That didn't bode well. She knew he must have been planning this for awhile to think of details like this.

Elijah strolled over to her and grabbed her by the hair. He ran the gun down her cheek because he wanted to see the fear in her eyes. He knew how strong of a woman she was and he wanted nothing more than to break her spirit. Since Officer Chen was an added bonus, that he wasn't expecting, he would get to do it in front of her. The only thing more satisfying would to be able to do it in front of Wesley. He thought that sending his wife back as damaged goods would be a good enough alternative. He'd left them in the room for three hours to let them sweat it out. What he hadn't expected was to find the other woman had fallen asleep.

"Do you want to keep this quiet so you don't disturb your friend? Waking her up would be rude." ,he breathed harshly into her ear.

"Leave her out of this. It's between you and me.", she kept her voice low hoping Lucy would stay asleep.

Elijah pulled back his hand and slapped her across the face with enthusiasm. She let out a slight grunt and pulled her head back up. Lucy shot up to as much of an upright position as she could manage.

"Ang!", she screamed in horror at what had transpired.

"I'm fine." Angela said in the most monotone voice she could muster. She wasn't about to let him see how much it hurt.

"I've been hit harder by weaker men.", she said while standing up.

She recieved another slap to the face. It staggered her for a moment. Elijah was no lightweight. This man could hit, and he could hit hard. Angela didn't have time to make another whitty retort before his fist collided with the side of her cheek. Now that was going to leave a mark.

"Does it make you feel like a big man to hit on a woman?" Lucy interjected before he could throw another punch.

"We both know Officer Lopez here is the strongest woman in your whole station. She can take a few hits.", he grinned and started to move toward Chen.

"Yeah so make the fight fair and I will kick your ass right now.", Angela had to try to get him away from Lucy. This was her mess and she had to deal with the consequences.

"Don't fight over me ladies. There is enough to go around. Besides we have so much time to play together."

Angela didn't like the sound of that. She had been a cop far to long to know the gravity of the situation. He was going to be as ruthless as possible. She just had to keep him busy long enough for Wesley and Tim to come for them.
