I do not own…

"The son of bitch left her eyes?"

Richard nodded as he drove his car.

It was 8:25 in the morning and the moment he and his partner Henry clocked in they were called to a crime scene in the countryside. Henry couldn't help sighed in annoyance as it was too early for this. He believed that he was getting too old for this kind of work. While on the road Richard was telling Henry what happened with Kagome.

"Fucking creep. How's the kid doing?" Henry asked

"Shaken. She's thinking of finding a new place to live." Richard said

"You think that'll help? Johnson, you and I both know how stalkers like this will do. Most of the time their victims end up dead if they don't get what they want." Henry explained. "She should have taken the feds offer and hid her somewhere. I know she's been a big help but she needs to worry for herself for once."

"You know how Kagome is. She doesn't want to think of herself as weak." Richard said

"It's not weakness if her life is on the line." Henry said "What if he tries something next week when you and your family are off on vacation. I live all the way across the city. And that fed…Will…was it…lives three hours away."

"Calm down, Henry. Carl and I were on her about this and she had agreed to stay at a friend's place while Jill and I are gone." Richard chuckled.

It was quiet for a moment but Henry could tell that something was bothering his partner.

"What? Did something else happen?" He asked

"I just find it strange that she got those eyes just a day after she had a date." Richard muttered

"The kid got a boyfriend?" Henry asked

"No…they just started dating." Richard said

He made a turn on the road and they saw the farmhouse at the far end.

"Have you met the guy yet?" Henry amused

"Only a few times while I was helping F.B.I with that witch case." Richards said

"So who is this guy? Is he that special agent guy?" Henry asked

"No…his names' Hannibal Lecter. He's a Psychiatrist that helps with the F.B.I sometimes." Richards sighed

When they got to the house their forensic team and a few other cops were already there. Once Richard was able to find an area he parked his car.

"You don't sound like you approve of the guy?" Henry smirked

"I…don't know. He seems like an okay guy. There's just…something about him that's…off. A little too perfect and yet…I don't know." Richard said "Just a gut feeling."

"Hey…what have I always told you. Always trust your gut. Besides…I always believe that the ones that are too perfect are the ones that you need to watch out for. Is Kagome okay with this guy?" Henry asked

"Jill seems to think so." Richard said

They got out of the car and headed inside.

"Hey if you're worried about this guy I can look him up for you while you're gone." Henry smirked, "Everyone has a past after all."

Richard just chuckled.

"Well, If Kagome doesn't kill for looking into her new boyfriend, Jill definitely will if this isn't a quick and close case and I have to cancel our vacation." He said

One of the officers had greeted them and explained what they got so far. The place belonged to the Wells family. From the photo that they saw, it was a family of five. The married couple had three kids: two boys and a girl. Their oldest son Mike was a seventeen year old boy, the middle child Cody was nine years old and the little girl Zoe was five years old. None of the family members were there. From the look of things some of the cops believed a large bear had broken in and attacked the family. There was a struggle. Judging from the blood marks on the floor they looked like they were dragged off. There was some set of footprints that were running away from the scene. Seeing how small they were Richard figured it was one of the younger kids. Richard was thinking of calling Kagome as he had a gut feeling that this was her kind of case. Henry and two other officers went to see where the footprints lead while Richard stayed in the house.

He and Henry highly doubt that this was some kind of a bear attack. For one, there weren't any paw prints anywhere, not even in the blood. Second, they were in mid-winter, so black bears would still be in hibernation.

"Hey Richard, you better get back up here." Henry called on the walkie-talkie.

"What do you got, Henry?" Richard asked

"The footprints lead out to the barn and…I found Cody and Zoe. They're alive." Henry said

Richard and two EMT's hurried and met with Henry in the barn. There they saw Cody and Zoe huddle in one the stables. The EMT's hurried inside and quickly placed blankets over them before checking them.

"Found them here, hiding behind some hay." Henry said

"Are they okay?" Richard asked

"Besides be a little cold, shock and not to mention being fucking scared…I believe so." Henry said

"Did they say anything?" Richard asked

"The kid said that…a monster…came and took their parents away." Henry said

"What about their brother?" Richard asked

Someone else called on the walkie-talkie telling them that they found a body in the woods. The officers stayed with the kids while Richard and Henry headed off to see who it was. They were half way in the woods when they found the body. It was the Wells' son, Mike, dead and was torn in half. From the looks of things it did look like an animal attack but there was one problem.

"Bears are solitary creatures, right?" Richard asked

Henry nodded.

"Then where are Mr. and Mrs. Wells' bodies? I mean…I could see it either taking one body to feed on while leaving the rest. Or leave all the bodies in the house and feast upon them there." Richard said "Why would it take them all."

"You have that look on your face." Henry stated

"Just that gut feeling. Jill's gonna kill me." Richard said

In the morning Kagome had headed over to Wills' house. They had scheduled a playdate with their dogs weeks ago. She was really happy to see Will. It felt like she hadn't seen him that much in the past few days. The two of them started walking the dogs on a trail that was near his house. His dogs were off their leashes but they stayed in clear sight. Bear was off his leash but he stayed near his mistress. When they reached an open area Kagome took out a tennis ball and started playing fetch with dogs. Will and Kagome laughed as the dogs raced after the ball. Winstin got the ball and took it back to Will. Graham took the ball and threw it hard in the woods.

"Jimmy and Zeller tried everything they could to get DNA from the eyes...but no luck." Will said

"I think I know who they might be…but…I'm hoping that I am wrong." Kagome said

The dogs came back and this time Bear had the ball and brought it back to Kagome. She kneels down to scratch his head before the ball and tossed it again.

"Who do you think it is?" Will asked

"One of the doctors was reported missing yesterday by his wife. Dr. Elliet Tanner. He's an adulterer and a creep. He hit on many of the nurses in his department. And many times he's tried to make me go out with him. He even tried again at the Charity event. From what I've heard, that's when he went missing." She said "He fits the Ripper's M.O for me."

Will agreed and his jaw clenched a little. After hearing that it wasn't hard for him to believe that the eye belonged to this doctor. The Ripper will kill those that disrespected or hurt Kagome. In the mind of the Ripper he took the doctors' eyes because they wondered on what didn't belong to him. Will would only admit to himself that this kill he didn't mind. The doctor sounded like a pervert.

"I'll tell Jack about it." He said

The dogs came back and one of the small dogs, Buster, had the ball this time. He took the ball from the little guy and was gonna throw it but saw the worry look on the priestess face.

"Kagome…What's wrong?" He asked

"Richard and Carl are worried for my safety. And I have to admit that I am too but…I'm more worried about them." She said "Would he…would the Ripper hurt them…or me?"

Will understood her concern. Kagome was the type to worry about other people's safety before herself. He didn't know if he should tell her the truth. If the Chesapeake Ripper saw her friends as an obstacle he would kill them to get to her. As to killing her…he didn't think so. If she rejects him there is a possibility that he might kill her or just lock her up until she gives him what he wants.

What did the Ripper want from her?

Will's been racking his brain a lot about this for a long time. He knew the killer felt protective towards her and definitely affectionate. But why?

Will looked back at Kagome before looking back at his dogs.

'Okay that was a stupid question.' Will thought

Not only was Kagome beautiful but the woman was selfless and kind to everyone she met. He could always be himself around her and she wouldn't pity him or be creeped out like others would. The priestess would never be fake with him. She accepts him for who he is and that's what he likes about her.

'Maybe that's why. The Ripper could be hoping that she accepts him for who he is…for what he is.' Will thought

"Yes and no." He said, deciding to be truthful and stood next to her. "If he believes that they're in his way, he will kill them. With you, I don't believe he would."

"What should I do if I do meet him?" She asked

"If it ever comes to it…for your safety on how to survive its best to play along with his delusions" He said and took her hand into his. "But I won't let that happen. I promised you, remember? We'll find him before that ever happens."

Kagome smiled and squeezed his hand.

"Thank you." She said

Their moment was ruined when their phones rang. Kagome looked at the caller I.D and saw that it was Richard. It looks like he has a case that he needs her help with.

"Sorry, looks like I have to cut our playdate short. Richard has a strange case for me to look into." She said

"Yeah, me too. That was Jack." Will sighed

"We should make arrangements to hang out again next time." She smiled

'I swear her smile is contagious.' He thought and smiled back.

He was glad that she turned around as he did blush a bit.

Kagome made it to the house Richard told her about. The place was taped off but Richard was there to greet her. He took her inside and she saw the damage and blood in the house.

"So you got a call yesterday about a homicide case. What made you think I was needed for this?" She asked

"I'm hoping it's not. But whenever I have that gut feeling it usually does." He said

Kagome nodded in agreement. She couldn't help but wonder if Richard was a hunter in another life.

"So what do you got?" She asked as she looked around.

"Well so far nothing much…but Henry believes the husband…James Wells…did this. The blood belongs to the wife, Maratha, and the eldest son Mike." Richard said

"What did the kids say?" Kagome asked

"Neither have said anything since we took them in. But the last thing the boy said was that a monster took their parents away." He said

Kagome put on some latex gloves and started looking around the house. She looked upstairs and checked the rooms. In one of the rooms it looked like the husband's office. On his desk there was a video camera. Curious, Kagome took a look at it. It looked like he and two of his friends went camping and were exploring a cave somewhere. When they went deep inside the cave James (the husband) fell through some flooring and landed in a different tunnel. A tunnel that was filled with strange looking bags hanging above the ceiling. James looked around the place and the camera landed on a skeleton that was charred up. The man walked closer to the remains and the camera started to fuzz a bit. When he got closer the camera went out. Kagome narrowed her eyes and rewind the camera a bit and looked at it again.

"Find anything?" Richard asked as he came into the room.

"I think so." Kagome muttered

She did her best to pause at the right moment. The vision was a bit blurry but with her keen eyesight she was able to spot it. A spirit was coming right at the man.

"What did Mr. Wells do for a living?" She asked

"He was a Geologist Professor from Maryland University." He said, as he looked at his notes.

"He went on a trip. Where to?" She asked

"He and a few of his friends went camping in Canada. A place called… Blackclaw mountain. He just got back three days ago." Richard said

"Has anyone noticed him acting strange?" She asked

"Yeah…we talked to his buddies that were with him. They said after they helped him from the cave incident he was off. He was distant, stared off into nothing and they came back early because they ran out of food." He said "Mr. Wells ate all their supplies that very night. Get this, that very morning they caught him eating a squirrel…raw. They hurried him to the hospital…thinking he caught some kind of tapeworm or something."

"Other than getting salmonella I'm guessing they didn't find anything else." She said

She shut the video camera off before handing it to him to bag it.

"Nope. Not evening that." He said "So what do you think? Is my gut right on this?"

"Yes…I believe it is." She sighed

"I'm gonna Jill and tell her I'm gonna have to cancel our trip to the coast." He said

"What? Why? You two have been planning this trip for months." She asked

"I'm your partner for this stuff. You're gonna need help with this." He said

"Richard, I've done this before. Henry can help." She said "And I have some contact that can help me with this if things get too dicy."

"Are you sure?" He asked

"Yes...you and Jill go out and have fun." She smiled and hugged him before leaving. "I can handle this."

Once Kagome had gathered everything she needed from Richard she headed to the hospital for her shift. She had a few patients that were a bit questionable but she and her team were able to solve their illness right away. There was only one that was easy and it annoyed her but she managed to bite her tongue from saying anything. When it was her lunch time Kagome looked over at the Wells case as she ate her curry. She read where James Wells and his friends had camp out and decided to look up the camping area online.

And nothing.

Nothing like this has ever happened. So she decided to look back further. There was nothing until she searched 200 hundred years back. When the land belonged to the Indigenous people. A lot of blood was spilled on the land. The article didn't explain much about it so she decided to contact a History Professor in Canada that knew that land better. Sadly he couldn't answer so she left a voicemail and an email, asking him to contact her as soon as he could.

When her shift was over Kagome headed back to her apartment with Bear and her bouquet vase of red roses and lilies. They arrived an hour after she started. Her stomach dropped when she thought they were from the Ripper. But this time the delivery man told her that they were from Hannibal Lecter. She looked at the card and it was him asking her out on another date. This made the Priestess blush and decided to call him. She had agreed to another dinner date but this time it will be at her place. When she got off the elevator she was surprised by another vase of roses and lilies by her door. She had to admit that the man was good.

So the first thing she did was open her door and let Bear inside before grabbing the vase of flowers. Once inside she kicked the door closed before placing the flowers on her kitchen Island. After making sure her door was locked she left one of the flowers on the Island and placed the other one on her coffee table. Seeing that she had two hours till her date arrived, Kagome fed Bear first before showering and getting herself ready. Looking into her closet she decided on a red long-sleeve Plain Mini Bodycon dress, with black leggings and black high-heel boots. When she was ready Hannibal had arrived with a small hand carrier cooler strapped on his shoulder and a bag with his fancy copper pan.

"You look lovely, Kagome." He smiled

"And you look dashing as ever." She smiled "And thank you for the flowers. You really are a romantic, Hannibal."

"You have no idea." He said

She smiled more when he leaned in and kissed her. The kiss was a bit long but gentle as he wanted to savor it. When they broke apart she let him in. He placed the cooler and bag on the kitchen Island before taking off his winter coat.

"I hope the weather wasn't bad." She said as she noticed snow on his coat.

"Not at all." He said

He set his equipment out on the kitchen counter before opening the cooler.

"So what's for dinner tonight?" She asked

"Stuffed Lamb Heart, braised with White wine. Over couscous and wilted spinach." He said

"I don't think I've ever tried Lamb Heart before." She smirked

"Trust me, it's a delicacy. I assure you." He smiled

"You're the expert cook. I'll take your word for it." She said "Just tell me what to do to help."

She was his sue-chef once again. While she was dealing with the side dishes Hannibal dealt with the main dish. She told him where her own kitchen equipment were but unknown to her he already knew where everything. He has been in her apartment many times and made a mental note on where everything was. Of course, he couldn't tell her that.

He actually liked her apartment, everything was a piece of her and it calmed him. After what happened he needed it. Jack had called for him, Will and Alana to meet him in his office as Abigail did something completely stupid. Three days ago the girl had the nerve to unburied Nicholas Boyle, letting the FBI to question everything. Just thinking about it made his blood boil. If she doesn't fix it he just might have to get rid of her. He finally had his Kagome and he wasn't gonna lose his priestess because of that girls' mistakes. Hannibal looked over towards the woman with a true smile and went to hug her from behind. The cannibal inhaled her intoxic scent and his anger went away. She looked up at him with a raised brow and an amused look.

"What was that for?" She asked

"Your perfume is amazing on you. Chanel number 5...is it?" He asked

"Wow, that nose of yours is amazing." She smirked

The man chuckled before kissing the side of her head and returned to his task. He would deal with Abigail later. For now he was gonna enjoy his time with his Priestess.
