Ch 3

After school, Billy saw Freddy getting cornered by Brett Breyer and Burke Breyer when he hit them with Freddy's crutch. Billy ran into a subway train where he was teleported to the Rock of Eternity by the Wizard.

"Billyt Batson." the Wizard said, his voice echoing in the room.

"Who are you?" Billy asked.

"I am the last of the Council of Wizards, keeper of the Rock of Eternity." the Wizard explained. "But long ago, we chose a champion and we chose recklessly."

The Wizard then showed a hologram of a man with a black cape shooting lightning bolts, then some shadowy monsters that dove into the city and people ran and scream.

"He used his powers for revenge, releasing the Seven Deadly Sins into your world. Millions of lives were lost. Entire civilizations erased from existence. That is why I will never pass on my magic until I find one truly good person, strong in spirit and pure of heart."

Billy blinked and took a step back.

He wasn't good and he certainly wasn't pure of heart.

"Look, man, maybe this is magic. I-I don't know, but, the people you're looking for, good, pure people... I'm not one of them." Billy said. "I-I don't know if anyone is, really."

"You, Billy Batson, are all I have. All the world has." the Wizard said. "Lay your hands on this staff. And say my name so my
powers may flow through you. I open my heart to you, Billy Batson. And in so doing, choose you as champion."

"Thanks, but I really gotta get going."

Billy didn't even know anything about superheroes so why was he here?

"My brothers and sisters were slain by the sins. Their thrones lie empty!" the Wizard shouted in frustration. "My magic must be passed on. Now...Speak my name!"

Billy blinked again. Huh?

He didn't even know who this guy was!

"I-I don't know your name, sir. We just met."

"My name is...Shazam."

Okay, what?

"Wait, for real?"

"Say it!"

Then Billy did and suddenly a burst of magic lightning erupted. He fell on the ground but when he got back up, he was in a full-grown adult body with a bright gold and red suit along with a long white cape, golden boots and golden gauntlets.

He now had the power of the gods and he was now Philadelphia's original superhero.
