Chapter3: Enter, Wormwood!

Turning his cap backward, he shouts "Go, Pokéball!" as he throws it towards its target. The ball lands on the Caterpie and it opens up capturing the Worm Pokémon.

The ball shakes once. Crash stares at the ball in a mix of excitement and uneasiness, practically sweating with anticipation.

The ball shakes twice. Misty and Mark both stare attentively. One from the desire for its trainer to succeed. And another from the anticipation.

The ball shakes a third time. Crash closes his eyes, hoping that the Worm Pokémon would stay in its ball.

Please stay in the ball, Please stay in the ball, Please stay in the ball, Please stay in the-

DING

Crash opens his eyes and spies the Pokéball and grabs it. Crash then began to cheer and dance around, celebrating his brand new capture.

"Ah-hah, I did it! I caught it. I really caught it!" Crash cheered "I caught- Caterpie!" Crash posed as he held out the Pokéball containing the captured Worm Pokémon. Running over to Misty, Crash locked elbows with her and proceeded to dance with pure joy. Mark stood by as he stared at his trainer dancing around with Misty.

When Misty was able to pull herself away from her overjoyed companion, Crash started to shove the Pokéball into her face with a wide grin.

"This is my first capture! My first step on my way to becoming a Pokémon Master!" Crash cried out, triumphantly.

"Yeah yeah, that's great," Misty replied, trying to keep her distance. "Now could you keep that outta my face?"

"What's wrong Misty? You're not scared of a harmless little Caterpie in a Pokéball, are you?" Crash gave a mischievous grin as he pushed it closer to her face.

"Bugs just bug me out!" Misty complained "Even if they're in Pokéballs, so keep it away from me!"

"But I think bug Pokémon are pretty cool." Crash frowned "Like my new Caterpie! I just love my new Caterpie!"

"Guess it takes a worm to love a worm." Misty scoffed.

"You're an absolute comedian Misty." Replied a sarcastic Crash.

Misty simply turned away.

"Hey, Mark!" Crash called out. "We have a new friend joining us from this moment onward."

Mark took a sniff at the Pokéball before cheering alongside its trainer.

"I knew you'd be happy too buddy." Crash smiled before getting an idea. "Hey, why don't I send out Caterpie so we can introduce ourselves?"

"Do what now?" Misty asked, giving an incredulous look.

"Alright! Caterpie, come say hello!" As Crash released the Caterpie from its Pokéball. Meanwhile, Misty had hid herself behind a tree.

Caterpie, finally released, gazed around curiously. Crash smiled and approached his first capture

"Nice to meet you Caterpie, I'm your trainer from here on out. I'm Crash," Crash pointed to himself. "And that's Mark the Pikachu," Crash points to Mark who had hopped off its perch on Crash's shoulder to say hi. Caterpie gave a happy squeal, happy to meet its new friends.

"Now that introductions are over, let's pick a nickname for you." Crash sat down and crossed his arms in thought. Mark, seeing what his trainer was doing, decides to do the same. Caterpie scans its surroundings as its trainer and Mark are sitting down, and spies the shirking Waterflower. It immediately rushes over to where she was hiding causing her to scream. Crash is snapped from his thoughts as he hears Misty scream in fright. Turning to where he heard the noise, he sees the Worm Pokémon affectionately nuzzling against her leg.

"Guess he likes you Misty." Crash smiled.

"Please get this disgusting bug away from me!" Misty quailed in fright.

Caterpie tilts its head in confusion.

"You really hate bugs that much?" Crash asked.

"Yes! Yes I do!" Misty replied.

Caterpie attempts to approach Misty, but the redheaded tomboy scrambles away.

"Don't come any closer!" She squealed.

As Caterpie gives a bereft look as it hangs its head, Mark attempts to cheer up the saddened bug Pokémon.

"I have an idea, why don't you be friends with that nasty Bug and I'll be friends with Mark?" Misty suggested as she grabbed the electric mouse.

"Look Misty, you're being mean," Crash said with a semi irritated tone "and besides, Mark doesn't like being suddenly grabbed by-"

Crash cuts himself off as he sees Mark being pet by Misty, when the electric mouse wouldn't allow Crash the same luxury during their first meeting.

"Markus…" Crash growled.

Mark immediately hops out of Misty's lap and runs to his trainer's side.

Crash clears his throat and continues. "Besides, you're making Wormwood cry."

"Wormwood? Oh, you mean-" Misty turned to the bug Pokémon she had run from moments before, and noticed it had tears in its eyes.

Misty felt guilty for being rude, but she couldn't help that she didn't like bugs. She then noticed the bug-type wriggling towards her.

"Crash, please put it back in its ball! Bugs are one of the three most disgusting things in the world!" She cried.

"Aside from you, what are the other disgusting things?" Crash asked with a bit of scorn in his voice.

"Look who's calling who a comedian." Misty scoffed as she continued. "Carrots, Peppers, and Bugs! Everyone has something they don't like and those are the highest on my list!"

"Well jokes on you!" Crash replied. "I like Carrots, Peppers, and Bugs! But that doesn't mean you gotta be so rude to Wormwood!" Crash turned back to the dejected Worm Pokémon and comforted it. The bug-type crawled up its trainer's arm and perched on his shoulder.

"Don't worry, Misty won't be mean to you anymore." Crash reassured the Worm Pokémon.

"I won't?" Misty asked, confused.

"That's right, because you're on your own." Crash answered as he, with Wormwood still on his shoulder and Mark, who decided to walk side by side, leave Misty behind.

After walking for a good 3 hours, Mark picked up footsteps from behind. Looking back, Mark noticed Misty tagging along.

"Pika Pi!" (Crash! Look!)

"Huh, what is it buddy?" Crash asked as his starter tugged on his pants. Mark pointed at Misty who wasn't so far behind.

"Why are you following us?" Crash asked, annoyed.

"You still owe me my bike, Mr 'Pokémon Master'." Misty replied.

"Get over that bike already! I said I'd pay it back, didn't I?" Crash argued.

"Well I can't risk you wiggling out of that promise! And besides, this is the quickest way out of the forest." Misty shouted back.

"Whatever floats your boat." Crash shrugged and walked on.

"Hmph! Whatever!" Misty scoffed and continued down the same path.

Meanwhile, Mark looked at the two kids and just sighed.

It soon became dusk, so Crash started a campfire, pulled out a sleeping bag and used his backpack as a pillow. As Crash lay in his sleeping bag, he gave a joyful sigh.

"Wow, a lot really happened in 2 days. I start my journey, I survive a swarm of Spearow, I make it to Viridian City, I beat a gang of Pokémon thieves, and I catch my first Pokémon." Then, Crash shouted out loud, breaking the near silent ambiance of the forest. "I WONDER WHAT'S IN STORE NEXT, I JUST CAN'T WAIT!"

A rock hits him in the face as an irritated Misty glares at him. "Will you shut your mouth already?" She asked in a tone that Crash would describe as, 'a voice a Nidoking would have if they could speak like humans.'

"Don't let the Weedle bite." Crash snapped back as Crash turned away from Misty.

"Hmph!" Misty scoffed, as she did the same.

Mark and Wormwood (the latter, who hasn't gone inside it Pokéball since Crash had caught it.), stood up staring at the stars talking to one another.

(Translated)

Wormwood: Hey Mark, what are those?

Mark: Oh those are just stars. They come out every night.

Wormwood: Really?

Mark: Yeah!

Wormwood: Huh. Well they shure are purty.

Mark: No arguments there.

Wormwood: Hey, Mark.

Mark: Yeah?

Wormwood: What d'ya think bout evolution?

Mark: Not any way in particular, why do you ask?

Wormwood: I'm thinking bout evolvin' myself.

Mark: Really?

Wormwood: Yeah. There ain't much to do here, 'sides crawling up trees n' eating ev'ryday. So I decided to evolve and fly 'round the world. Y'know, do some travelin'.

Mark: Really? Same here actually. Besides the whole evolution thing. Traveling sounds nice. I'd love to travel with Crash.

Wormwood: Speakin' o' Crash, how'd you meet anyhow?

Mark: We met back in Pallet Town.

Wormwood: Pallet Town?

Mark: Yeah! I didn't like him at all when we first met.

Wormwood: Really? Why didn't ya like him?

Mark: I just didn't like humans. But when I saw that he risked his life multiple times for me, despite me not liking him, I grew to like him too.

Wormwood: Golly.

Mark: Yeah, and I've only known him for 2 days, but I'd do the same.

Wormwood: Hey Mark. I've just one more thing to ask you.

Mark: Yeah?

Wormwood: Do ya think Misty would like me if I- became a Butterfree?

Mark: Why are you asking me?

Wormwood: She seemed real scared and disgusted when she looked at me. And that hurt my feelings an awful lot. So I've decided to evolve real quick, and maybe she'd like me a lot more. What d'ya think?

Mark: Hmmm. I'm not sure. But I do know one thing…

Wormwood: Y'know what?

Mark: That me and Crash would care for you, if you choose to evolve or not.

Wormwood: Really?

Mark: Really, Really. *yawn* I'm getting a bit tired, I'm just gonna go to sleep. Good night Wormwood,

Wormwood: Night… Mark.

(Translation end)

Crash was fast asleep when he and Mark woke up to an all too familiar scream. Literally hopping to his feet whilst still in his sleeping bag. Crash looked over to see what was wrong.

"Ahhhh! Get this slimy thing away from me!" Misty squealed as she inched away from Wormwood.

"Misty, Wormwood just wants to be your friend," Crash sighed as he continued. "Though why with you, I'll never know."

"I don't care!" Misty retorted. She turned to Wormwood. "Now if you're really a Pokémon, you'll go back to your Pokéball. NOW!"

Wormwood began to sob and dejectedly crawl towards its Pokéball. Crash frowned as his first capture approached its Pokéball, pushing the button in the center, allowing itself back inside. Crash turned back to Misty and spoke in a disappointed tone.

"I could care less if you were scared of bugs, that's no reason to be mean to Wormwood. Pokémon have feelings too Y'know!?"

Misty frowned, but turned away. Crash picks up Wormwood's Pokéball and speaks to it.

"Don't you worry. We'll show her just how cool you can be."

Misty looked back, feeling guilty.

But the temporary silence was broken by wing flapping as a large bird Pokémon landed nearby. It looked similar to a Pidgey, but was much larger. It also had a crest of pinkish-red feathers on its head and black, angular markings behind its black eyes and had plumage of its tail alternating red and yellow feathers with ragged tips.

"Wow, it's a Pidgeotto!" Crash smiled as he pulled out his Pokédex, wanting to get more information.

"Pidgeotto, the evolved form of the Pidgey. It is armed with sharp claws and dives from the sky to catch its prey. Unlike the more docile Pidgey, Pidgeotto are territorial, so exercise extreme caution."

"Oh, if any Pokémon needs to exercise extreme caution, it's Pidgeotto." Crash grinned as he grabbed an empty Pokéball, preparing to throw it.

"GO, POKÉBALL!" Crash cried as he threw the ball towards its target, but Pidgeotto swatted the ball away with ease leaving Crash in shock and Misty in embarrassment.

"Don't you get it?" Misty facepalmed. "You can't just throw a Pokéball at a wild Pokémon and expect it to stay in! You have to weaken the Pokémon first. The reason why you caught that Caterpie so easily is because it was already a weakling.

"I know that!" Crash barked "I just got a little excited, that's all. And stop picking on Wormwood!"

Crash picks up Wormwood's Pokéball "We'll show her. Go, Wormwood!" sending out the Worm Pokémon to do battle against the Pidgeotto, to Misty's and Mark's surprise. As Wormwood is sent out, it's immediately on the run as the Pidgeotto tries to eat it. Crash, remembering that bug Pokémon are weak to bird Pokémon, immediately returns Wormwood to its Pokéball before it could take any damage. Crash turns to Mark. "Alright buddy, it's your turn!" Mark nods in agreement and hops in front of the bird Pokémon.

Pidgeotto immediately turns to attack the electric mouse with a Tackle, knocking the mouse Pokémon on its back. Pidgeotto flies back into the sky, readying another Tackle.

"Mark, watch out!" Crash calls out, as the bird Pokémon dives at the electric mouse. Hearing its trainer's warning, Mark is able to bounce off the Bird Pokémon, causing it to hit the dirt floor.

"Now use Thundershock!" Crash shouts. Mark fires an electric shock at the bird Pokémon, causing the bird Pokémon to twitch as it's hit by the attack. Crash grabs a Pokéball and it meets its target, hitting the Pidgeotto back and containing it. After wiggling about for a few moments before eventually stopping as a DING sound is heard from the Pokéball.

"Yes! We caught- Pidgeotto!" Crash cheered as he posed with a peace sign.

"Pikachu!" Mark cheers as he copies his trainer's gesture.

"What'd you think of that Misty?" Crash asked with a smug look on his face. Misty sighs and replies, "Well I think you're a complete idiot."

"What?" Crash gave a puzzled look.

"Why did you send out Caterpie to fight a Pidgeotto? Bird Pokémon like Pidgeotto eat Bugs like Caterpie." Misty corrected.

"I just wanted Wormwood to prove himself." Crash frowned.

"Well unfortunately for you, Mr. 'Pokémon Master' you could've lost your Caterpie, due to you wanting to make it feel better. You can't let your Pokémon's feelings dictate your judgment! A trainer's judgment is one of the most vital things to become a good Trainer. If you don't have that, you'll never become a Pokémon trainer, let alone a Pokémon Master!"

"I know that but-"

"Found you!" A familiar voice sing-sang.

"What?" Crash asked, turning to where he heard the voice, seeing three familiar silhouettes.

"To protect the world from devastation," the female voice started.

"To unite all peoples within our nation." The male voice added.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love." the female voice continued.

"To extend our reach to the stars above." The male voice finished.

"Jessie." The woman said. "James." her partner in crime continued.

"Not those guys again." Crash facepalmed.

"Team Rocket! Blast off at the speed of light!" Jessie posed.

"Surrender now or prepare to fight!" James posed as well.

"Meowth! DATS RIGHT!" Meowth jumped in.

"What do you guys want?" Crash asked, annoyed.

"For your information, we're after your Pokémon." Jessie answered.

"We're after your Pikachu, so hand it over and make it snappy!" James ordered.

"Why do you want Pikachu?" Crash asked, raising an eyebrow. "You guys said you were after rare Pokémon, which 'doesn't describe my Pikachu at all,' so what gives?"

"We only look for rare and valuable Pokémon, kid." James replied.

"And your Pikachu is just the Pokémon we need!" Jessie finished.

"Will you two shut your mouths already, you're gonna give away our secrets!" Meowth snapped, as he jumped up to use Fury Swipes on his comrades.

"Is Mark really that special?" Crash asked, turning to Mark who looked at him with the same amount of confusion.

Meowth immediately turns back to Crash answering, "Kid, your Pikachu's power impresses even me! After getting a charge outta its Thundershock the last time we met, we deduced its power surpasses its evolutionary levels! Your Pikachu would be able to-"

Meowth was cut off as Jessie and James proceeded to stomp on him. "Now who's revealing our secrets?" They roared as their heels pressed into the Scratch Cat Pokémon's head.

"You hear that buddy? You're incredible!" Crash smiled. Mark turned and smiled back, scratching his head in embarrassment.

"Did you two forget whose da top cat is around here!? I'm in charge!" Meowth roared.

Jessie and James turn back to the ten-year old boy.

"Now, as we said before, hand over that Pikachu!" Jessie ordered.

Crash narrowed his eyes. "No."

"Fine then, we'll just take it by force!" James said as he and Jessie sent out their Pokémon at the same time.

"Wait, two vs one? That's dirty battling!" Crash shouted.

"Well it's like we say, all is fair in love and Pokémon battles." Jessie cackled.

"If that's true then you're just as rotten."

"Of course we are. We're Pokémon gangsters, we don't play by the same rules." James answered.

"Well if they can use two, there's no reason you can't do the same, right Crash?" Misty asked.

"But it's against the official Pokémon League rules." Crash nervously replied. "Besides, can't you help me?"

Misty gave a weak smile. "Funny story actually…" Misty began scratching the back of her head nervously. " Goldeen is the only Pokémon I have with me at the moment."

"What?!" Crash asked, with an incredulous look.

"I left my other Pokémon at home! And besides, they're after your Pikachu, if anything it's up to you to stop them."

"Koffing, Sludge Attack!"

Koffing spits a mouthful of sludge at Mark, blinding him.

Crash quickly grabs his starter, protecting him from further harm, and hands him over to Misty.

"They'll do anything to get him, but no matter what happens, don't let them get Mark."

Misty takes the blind mouse and looks at the battle unfolding from the sidelines.

"What're you gonna do now?" Jessie asked.

I can't send Wormwood in, he's too weak to fight two Pokémon at once. But I know who can!

"OK! Jetstream! Help me out!" Crash throws a Pokéball revealing his Pidgeotto.

Jetstream twitches as he enters the battlefield, but shakes it off and takes to the sky.

"Koffing, it's grime time." James smiles as his Koffing starts to spew Sludge at the bird Pokémon. Jetstream is able to dodge the numerous globs of sludge being spewed at him, before knocking the Poison Gas Pokémon down with a Tackle.

"Ekans, go get your dinner!" Jessie orders as her Ekans sprang up to grab Jetstream, but the bird Pokémon nimbly dodges, and lands another attack.

"Alright Jetstream!" Crash cheered. "Now, aim your Quick Attack at Ekans!"

Jetstream dives from above, ready to strike.

"Ekans, go underground." Jessie ordered. Her Ekans is able to dig underground, avoiding the Quick Attack. Jetstream is able to pull up before he hits the ground, but is intercepted by Koffing, who uses Smog. Jetstream is able to counter the Smog with a by flapping his wings to disperse the poisonous gas. But Koffing switches to his Sludge attack, which the bird Pokémon easily avoids. Ekans pops up from the ground to strike at Jetstream, but the Bird Pokémon flies up, narrowly avoiding Ekans's sneak attack.

Koffing and Ekans immediately give chase, not giving the bird Pokémon time to breathe.

"Jetstream, escape with Quick Attack!" Crash commanded. The bird Pokémon begins to glow with white energy before starting to twitch mid-air, causing his wings to lock in place. This gives Koffing and Ekans a chance to knock the bird Pokémon to the ground with a double Tackle, rendering it unable to battle.

"What? What happened? Jetstream was stopped in the middle of its move." Crash gasped as he returned his injured bird Pokémon. He immediately turns to Team Rocket. "Did you three have something to do with it?"

"Sorry twerp, but we didn't do anything." Meowth shrugged.

"Stop lying. Jetstream was perfectly fine until he took to the sky." Crash retorted.

"It was because it was paralyzed." Misty answered.

"Paralyzed?" Crash's eyes widened in realization "Ah, that explains why he was so much slower and began to twitch when I sent him out!"

"Face it kid, with your Pikachu blinded, and your Pidgeotto pummeled, there's no way you can win." Jessie smirked.

"So just give us Pikachu and you and the girl will be unharmed." James said, moving his hand in a "give it to me" gesture.

"No!" Crash answered defiantly. "I've got one more Pokémon left!"

"Pika! Pika Pi, Pikachu!" Mark shouted, trying to make his way out of Misty's arms.

"Mark, you're in no condition to battle." Misty said, continuing to wipe off the sludge that got in Mark's eyes.

Crash looks at Wormwood's Pokéball, with Misty looking worried.

"Crash, no. Wormwood can't-"

"He can."

"Those Pokémon are way stronger than that Caterpie, we should just."

"Shut up!"

Misty gasped, one hand on her mouth. Team Rocket looked on in shock too.

"Running won't do a thing, so I've gotta beat 'em right here!"

Crash looks back at Wormwood's Pokéball.

"I know you probably stand a Magmar's chance at sea, but you're all I've got!"

Crash turns his cap around and throws the Pokéball.

"Wormwood! You've got this!"

The Worm Pokémon enters a battle ready stance.

"What're we looking at?" Jessie asked.

"A bug. A measly little bug." Meowth replied.

The three Team Rocket members begin to laugh at the Worm Pokémon, as Koffing and Ekans glare at it intensely, causing it to huddle its head in fear.

"Crash, what are you doing? Wormwood can't fight them!" Misty cried.

"He can. Because I believe in Wormwood." Crash replied, giving a confident smile.

"Didn't you listen to a single thing I said earlier about using your brain?!"

"Alright, enough games." Jessie started.

"Ekans, Koffing. Attack that pathetic Worm!" The two Rockets ordered. The two Poison types begin to sprint towards the Worm Pokémon. The terrified Wormwood begins to turn around to run but its trainer calls out, telling it to stand its ground. The bug Pokémon quivered in fear and looked back at its trainer in worry. But saw nothing but determination in his eyes, reassuring the bug Pokémon, and allowing it to stand its ground.

"What!?" Misty gasped.

I just gotta wait for them to get closer…

"Crash, you gotta call Wormwood back, it just can't win with those odds." Misty shouted.

"I'm not calling him back!" Crash shouted back.

The Poison types were five yards within Wormwood's reach. The bug Pokémon held fast, still shaking in fear but not moving from its spot.

Wait for it.

"Crash, it can't take an assault from two Pokémon at the same time. Call Wormwood back!"

"Not yet!"

Wait for it!

"We're gonna get that Pikachu, we're gonna get that Pikachu!" Team Rocket cheered at their supposed victory.

Ekans and Koffing were one yard away from Wormwood. The bug Pokémon shook in fear even more, but looked back at its trainer. With Crash looking as determined as before, Wormwood turned back to face its Poison type adversaries with just as much certainty.

NOW!

"Wormwood! String Shot!" Crash called out. The Worm Pokémon shot out a sticky silk from its mouth, completely blinding the two Rocket Pokémon. The Rockets look in disbelief, thinking that they couldn't be beaten by a mere bug Pokémon! Jessie and James began barking orders, calling for Tackles and Poison stings and Sludge attacks, with half of the attacks being too slow to hit and the other half of them hitting their ally Pokémon.

"Come on Ekans, do something!" Jessie shouted.

"Koffing, watch out!" James yelled, as his Koffing Tackles into him.

"Alright!" Crash smiled. "We got 'em right where we want 'em! Wormwood, completely cover Koffing with your string shot."

Wormwood fires more string at the Poison Gas Pokémon, causing it to fall to the ground. Ekans lunges at Wormwood, only to end up getting another string shot, completely covering the Snake Pokémon's face.

"Nice one! Now Wormwood, use your best Tackle on Koffing and knock it into Ekans."

Wormwood charges at the downed Koffing, knocking it into Ekans. The two Poison types go flying into a nearby tree, resulting in a Double KO.

"What just happened?" James asked, staring at his webbed up Koffing in disbelief.

"I think we just lost." Jessie replied, equally as shocked.

"Ok, now it's time to let a real Pokémon battle," Meowth said, brandishing his claws.

Wormwood immediately wraps up the Scratch Cat Pokémon with a string shot, causing him to fall as the strings held his legs together.

"Looks like you've won this time, twerp!" Jessie growled as she retrieved her Ekans.

"But we will be back!" James said, retrieving his Koffing and picking up a tied up Meowth.

"Sure! We'll be glad to beat you again!" Misty taunted.

Crash stood in disbelief. "We won?" After registering that he did indeed win, Crash began to celebrate, and rushed over to Wormwood, picking up the Worm Pokémon and hugging it.

"Wormwood, you did great! Because of you, we chased off the bad guys!"

"I guess I underestimated both you and Wormwood. I also didn't see that strategy coming. Using String shot to make them miss their attacks and make them easier to dodge was a good idea."

"Thanks Misty, but I'm not the only one you should be thanking. So, why don't you give your proper thanks?"

"Proper thanks?"

"Oh, not much, you'd just have to pet Wormwood on the head, and tell him he did a great job." Crash replied, holding out the bug Pokémon towards Misty.

"P-pet a bug? On the head?"

"Yeah, it'd mean more because Wormwood likes you alot. So will you do it?

"Well…Ok."

Misty slowly lowered her hand to the Worm Pokémon's head, but a spray of string shot up in the air caused Misty to jump back.

"Hey, Wormwood. What's going on?" Crash asked.

"It's evolving!" Misty replied.

"Pika."

Crash, Misty and Mark all stare silently, as their eyes are glued to Wormwood's metamorphosis.

As Wormwood finishes evolving, Crash pulls out his Pokédex for more information.

"Metapod, the evolved form of the Caterpie. Its shell is as hard as an iron slab. A Metapod does not move very much because it is preparing its soft innards for evolution inside the shell."

"Whoa! Wormwood, you evolved! You're a Metapod now!"

Mark looks at the former Caterpie in amazement, and gives a wistful smile.

"He has more skill than I thought." Misty said to herself. "He might just be able to achieve his dream, as vague as it is."

"Alright Misty."

"Hmmm?" Misty answered.

"You still gotta keep your promise." Crash sing-sang as he held out his Metapod.

"Uh, well I…"

"You're not gonna go back on your promise are you?" Crash asked, giving a playful smirk.

"N-no, I didn't but-" Misty was cut off as a Beedrill flew by her.

"AWWW! I WANNA GET OUTTA HERE! NOW!" Misty wailed.

"Gonna be awhile till that happens." Crash frowns, it immediately turns into a wide smile as he tilts his cap upwards. "And besides, there's still more Pokémon I wanna catch!"

Crash races off in the direction of the Beedrill, Wormwood in his backpack and Mark trailing behind.

"Hey, don't just leave me here!" Misty calls out, attempting to keep pace.

"Then make like a Doduo and use your Agility!"

End of Chapter 3
