Chapter Two: Bakari's Distrust
The Lion Guard stood in silence after their encounter with Bakari, still trying to process what had just happened.
Kion: "That was weird." He remarked, breaking the silence.
Bunga: "I don't think I've met an angry baboon. It's Unbungalievable." He added, shaking his head.
Ono: "I don't think any of us have met an angry baboon before." He chimed in.
Beshte: "I thought that baboons were supposed to be mischievous." He said thoughtfully.
Fuli: "Apparently, not Bakari." She replied, still feeling the sting of Bakari's harsh words.
Kion: "There must be a reason why Bakari doesn't like us." He pondered aloud.
Meanwhile, back at the baboon family tree, Amara and Bakari were deep in conversation about his reaction.
Amara: "Bakari, what was that about?" She asked, her voice filled with concern.
Bakari: "Amara, I don't trust The Lion Guard, not one bit!" He replied firmly.
Amara: "But Bongo adores them, especially Fuli. She's his best friend." She pointed out.
Bakari: "Why? Why of all animals, does Bongo choose a cheetah to be his friend?!" He exclaimed.
Amara: "Bakari, Fuli has been such a great friend to Bongo, as well as the rest of the Lion Guard." She said softly.
Bakari: "Well, the Lion Guard, especially Fuli, are nothing but a bunch of troublemakers!" He insisted.
Amara: "The Lion Guard keeps the Pride Lands safe, even Bongo and Bobo." He countered.
Bakari: "I just want to set a good example for Bongo and Bobo. I think the Lion Guard are a bad influence on both our sons!" He said, his voice rising in frustration.
Amara: "Hopefully one day you'll get to see that the Lion Guard mean well and that they're not troublemakers," He said gently.
Bakari huffed and went to his branch of the tree, still fuming.
Bobo, having overheard the conversation, approached his mother.
Bobo: "Mom, why does Dad hate the Lion Guard so much?" He asked, his young voice filled with curiosity.
Amara: *sighs* "I don't know, Bobo." She sighed, feeling the weight of the situation.
Bongo, listening nearby, felt a pang of guilt. His dad thought his best friend, Fuli, was a bad influence. The thought made him feel bad for Fuli and even more confused about what to do.
