In Uraraka's room...
Bakugo stirred in Uraraka's bed, feeling himself start to wake up. He felt like he didn't want to get up, which was unusual coming from him. Usually he liked to get up pretty early. Something about being in Uraraka's dorm room, and it being a Sunday made him feel so lazy. He felt so comfy and warm under the covers that he almost fell back asleep.
Then he remembered what he saw last night and laid there thinking about what he saw. Midoriya kissed Uraraka as Bakugo.
Before he could think about it, there was a knock at the door. He was confused as to who could've been at the door. He looked at Uraraka's alarm clock and noticed that it was only six o'clock. He really hoped that it wasn't Ashido waking him up so early. He groaned as he got up and noticed how chilly it was. He quickly grabbed Uraraka's sweater and put it on.
Once he opened the door, he realized that it was Uraraka. She looked like she was already ready for the day, but her outfit seemed a bit different from anything she's ever worn. She looked like she was getting ready to go out for a while, like camping or something.
"Good morning Bakugo! I hope I didn't wake you up," Uraraka said to him with a smile.
Bakugo scratched the back of his head and tried to stretch. He even looked like he was still half asleep.
"Oh! I guess I did. Sorry about that," Uraraka said to him, "Well, I actually came here because I was thinking about doing something different today! Since it's a Sunday, and we don't have school, I thought that maybe you might wanna go hiking with me."
Bakugo's eyes widened in shock, not expecting her to come out and say something like that. Something about it felt weird that she would just up and want to go hiking with him. He thought that maybe she was doing this because of what's been going on.
"You wanna go hiking?" Bakugo pointed out as he crossed his arms, "You don't seem like the type to go hiking out of the blue."
"W-Well, I just felt like trying something different. I heard that you like hiking, and I thought, why not?" Uraraka said back.
Bakugo could already tell that Midoriya told her this. He couldn't help but wonder if they were talking about him during their dinner date.
"Don't you need permission to be doing this? Mr. Aizawa would never just let you do this at the last minute," Bakugo said to her.
"Yeah, but I explained things, and he understood why I wanted to do this," Uraraka said, trying not to go into details, "I just... I wanted to do something to make it up to you. You helped me with my dinner date, so I wanted to do something that you enjoyed."
Bakugo was surprised to see her talking to him so genuinely. Something about it felt like she was telling him the truth, and he let out a sigh.
"Fine. I'll go put on something for hiking," Bakugo said back, "Oh. By the way, you're going to be sweating a lot if you wear that much layers. You should take off some of those. It may be cold, but trust me you'll thank me for it later."
Uraraka smiled and closed his door behind him. Bakugo let out a sigh and got ready for this hike. He had no idea she would even pull something like this so early in the morning. Then again, he was glad it was early. At least she knew to get up early to go hiking. He got dressed in Uraraka's clothes and knew which clothes to put on to make sure he wasn't too hot in them. Then again, he didn't have to worry about it as much right now. He put on what he could and put some snacks, water bottles, an extra shirt, socks and a hat.
Once he got enough stuff for the hike, he looked in the mirror to see if he needed anything else. Something about seeing himself as Uraraka wasn't as weird as it was the first day that it happened. He's kind of gotten use to it, which kind of weirded him out a little. He let out a sigh and walked out of Uraraka's dorm room.
He ended up finding Uraraka no where to be seen. He figured that she would wait for him by the common room so he headed downstairs. He stood in the elevator, feeling a little curious as to what she was planning on doing with this day out. He'd never really done any like this before with any of their classmates. He's gone out with Kirishima to help him study, but that was different.
Something about this felt like she actually wanted to do this with him.
Once he exited the elevator, he spotted Uraraka grabbing something to eat in the kitchen. Some of their classmates were already up and wearing their regular clothes. Kirishima and Iida were doing some of their homework while Yaoyorozu and Jirou hung out in the common room. Midoriya had come back from his morning jog, and he noticed that he tried to avoid eye contact with him.
"Hey Bakugo! Here," Uraraka said to him as she handed him a couple of granola bars, "I figured that you'd want something to eat before we leave."
Bakugo looked at her and then the granola bars. She smiled at him, which for some reason didn't bother him this time around. He figured that he was just used to this by now. He grabbed the granola bars and walked into the kitchen. He grabbed a couple of water bottles and tossed them to her. She almost dropped them, but somehow caught them all.
"Bakugo! I almost dropped these!" Uraraka said to him, " I already brought a water bottle with me."
"Trust me. You're going to need these," Bakugo told her.
Uraraka looked at him and then put her backpack down to put them away. She was able to fit most of them in, but kept two out for the both of them. Then the elevator opened, and Kitsune came out looking refreshed and ready for another day here at U.A. She looked a little upset when she spotted Bakugo and Uraraka.
"Hey Bakugo... Uraraka..." Kitsune said to them a little quietly, "I hope things between you two aren't... you know... I tried my best yesterday, but I guess my quirk... really messed things up this time around..."
Bakugo and Uraraka shared a look and felt a little awkward about it. It was quiet as she stood there looking a little nervous.
"It's fine. I'm sure we'll figure this out soon," Bakugo said to her, "Besides, it's not like this stuff never happens to us. Class 1-A is kind of known for getting into trouble, so it's not a big deal."
Uraraka and everyone else in the room was surprised by how calm and patient he was with her. Kitsune even seemed a little relieved to see them getting along. Uraraka felt like she could relax a bit and felt ready to go hiking.
"Okay. I'll see you guys later," Uraraka said to them with a smile, and then noticed Midoriya, "See you soon, Izuku."
"Yeah. Come back not too late. I'd like to hang out with you before curfew," Midoriya said to her with a smile back.
It surprised everyone that Midoriya was so friendly with Uraraka considering how weird things have been between them. They left, and everyone gave each other weird glances.
"It's still weird that Uraraka sounds like Bakugo," Yaoyorozu said to them.
They all nodded in agreement, no quesions asked.
In the streets of Japan...
Uraraka and Bakugo ended up walking towards a hiking trail that Bakugo didn't recognize. Something about it seemed familiar. They took a subway to get there and then a bus to get to the hiking trail. They sat together on the bus, and Uraraka noticed how quiet he was. He didn't say anything as he drank some water. Uraraka didn't want to eat out yet until after the hike. She thought that a good meal after hiking would feel really good.
Uraraka picked a trail that her and her parents took when she was little. It was the only one that she knew of, so she decided to go with it. Something about it however gave her such comfort as they got closer to it. She could kind of remember going there when she was little. She remembered her dad carrying her on top of his shoulders when she got tired, but that's about it.
"Have you come here before? This seems pretty far from U.A.," Bakugo asked her.
"Actually yeah. I've been here with my mom and dad," Uraraka explained to him, "I don't remember much about it, but I don't think I liked very much since I was carried up on my dad's shoulders for the most of the way there. That might be why I don't usually do this."
Bakugo looked at her and didn't understand why they were doing this.
"Then why do this at all? If you don't like hiking, then we could've done something else," Bakugo asked her.
"Because... I thought you deserved it," Uraraka said to him.
Bakugo's eyes widened in shock and waited for her to say something else.
"I understand why you feel so uncomfortable and weird about all of this," Uraraka said to him, "I feel the same way. I guess because you helped me out so much these past few days that I figured maybe you needed a break from U.A. You know, to get away from it for a while."
Bakugo was surprised to hear her say all of this. Something about it felt genuine, and she wasn't lying to him. She really wanted to do this for him.
Soon enough, they got off the bus and came across the hiking trail. Uraraka looked at it and didn't realize how steep it was. She hadn't been here in a long time, so she forgot to at least check it out online. Bakugo noticed how nervous she was, especially considering she had his quirk. He let out a sigh and started the hike.
"Come on. You'll feel better once we start," Bakugo said to her, "It doesn't look that steep."
Uraraka took a deep breath in and out, and she followed him onto the trail. She noticed that there were some people walking the trail with them. There were some families and groups of teenagers that were having a great time walking up the trail. The little kids were holding onto their parents which reminded Uraraka of her time with her parents. Something about their smiles gave Uraraka so much joy that she felt like she could walk this trail.
They kept walking, and Uraraka felt the trail start to get a little steep. It wasn't as bad as she thought it was, but it still wasn't something she would normally do. Being in Bakugo's body however did make her sweat a little. She drank a lot of water as they kept going.
Bakugo felt like this trail was familiar for some reason. He didn't know why, but something about it seemed like he had been here before. Maybe his parents brought him here too when he was little. He definitely hasn't been here recently. He would've remembered going this far away from U.A. and away from this city as well. As they kept walking, something about the trail gave him a flashback of walking here with his parents, maybe even Deku and his mom.
Something about it felt really weird, but then he felt something else. It felt like Uraraka's feelings were coming up. They felt a sense of comfort walking through this trail. He felt his heart warming up from missing Uraraka's parents even though he had never met them before.
Uraraka was starting to get similar feelings too as they kept going. They weren't as strong, but she did feel something about Bakugo's feelings coming up. She was confused because she thought he has never been here before. Something about this felt like Bakugo either couldn't remember this part of his childhood very well or he just didn't think the trail was that important.
Bakugo felt like he was having a hard time walking, and then he remembered that Uraraka didn't usually do this. Her body was slowing him down, so he had to stop for a moment to get some water. Same for Uraraka, but she felt like she was doing better than she thought she would. Considering she was in Bakugo's body, it made sense that her stamina might be better suited for this sort of thing.
Uraraka waited for Bakugo to catch his breath and ended up taking a longer break. He drank some water, trying to regain his strength. Uraraka felt a little sweaty and remembered to not wipe her hands on her pants. She grabbed some tissues and wiped them off. Uraraka grabbed a water bottle and drank a big gulp of it.
Bakugo wondered what was going on with him as they walked the trail. Something about it felt like he's been here before, but he could've been misunderstanding his feelings for Uraraka's. She did say that she's been here before. He didn't want to say anything until they got a little further up the trail.
Even Uraraka felt the same way, although she could tell that they were Bakugo's feelings. They weren't as strong, in fact it felt a little faded. It was a little bizarre that it felt so distant. Something about it made her wonder if going here might actually help her understand Bakugo better. She was already feeling like she was getting along with him better, so that was a good start. Even hero training helped a lot.
They soon kept going, and Uraraka noticed how quiet Bakugo was. He didn't say a word since they started the trail. She thought he might say something earlier, but something about the trail was calming him down. She really hoped that he was at least enjoying it.
Uraraka kept going and soon caught up to Bakugo. She walked beside him and looked around to notice that the people around them had walked ahead. They were alone, which made things more quiet between them. Uraraka felt like saying something, but she didn't know what. They hadn't talked much since they got here. She just couldn't tell if he was enjoying it or not.
Bakugo kept going, which made Uraraka try to keep up with him. Something about this trail was getting her pumped up. Uraraka noticed that he really wanted to keep going. Then she had another moment that she could swear Bakugo felt something about this trail. She could swear that she felt his feelings remembering something. It was as if she could see him bumping into someone while he was walking the trail. It was faded and barely there, but it felt like she had almost reached it.
Something was connecting, and she didn't know what or who it was.
Bakugo felt something coming over him as he made his way towards his destination. Something he remembered. He walked this trail when he was a little kid. He walked it with his mom and dad, and Midoriya's mom and Midoriya tagged along too. But that wasn't what was bothering him. He started to remember something or someone. He had bumped into someone during that trail. He couldn't remember, but something about it made Uraraka's feelings come up.
Something was connecting, and he didn't know what or who it was.
Then Bakugo finally found it. He spotted that area that he was trying to get to. He picked up the pace, which caught Uraraka's attention.
"Bakugo! Wait up!" Uraraka cried out as she tried to keep up with him.
Bakugo kept going, and Uraraka felt something inside of her swell up with so much comfort and warmth. It felt like Bakugo's feelings were getting stronger as she kept going. She tried to run up to him, and then he stopped. She got to where he was looking, and she had to catch her breath.
"Bakugo, what're you--... doing...?" Uraraka asked as she trailed off.
She spotted what he had found, and her eyes grew wide at the view that he had come across. It was a high view of not just the city, but mostly mountains and trees that blended in with it. The sky was so blue and a few white clouds, but had such a refreshing feeling and look to it. She even noticed that it was a bit misty up here with it being still slightly early in the morning. The air felt so cooling that Uraraka took a moment to breathe that fresh air.
"Wow..." Uraraka let out without realizing it, "I can see why you go hiking. It's pretty amazing seeing this kind of view of the city and mountains."
Bakugo didn't say anything for a little while. He just admired the view, not looking away for even a second. Uraraka couldn't look away from him as he took in the view. Something about him felt so much different from when he goes to U.A. He almost felt like a completely different person as he stared at the view. It felt kind of refreshing seeing him so calm and just enjoying some time alone with her.
"I saw you and Deku kissing last night," Bakugo confessed out of no where.
Uraraka was so thrown off by this that she thought he might either run off or yell at her. He didn't do either of those things. Somehow he kept his cool and didn't even look at her. All he did was stare at the view, which made Uraraka relax a little.
"I'm not mad. In fact, I don't even blame you," Bakugo said to her, "Things are complicated enough. You two at least deserve a break."
Uraraka's eyes widened at how surprising it was to hear him say such a thing. She couldn't even believe that he said that, and with Uraraka's voice it made it even weirder.
"I... I'm sorry Bakugo," Uraraka said to him, "I just... I just wanted to cheer you up. After everything you've been through, I thought you deserved a break. I don't blame you if you hate me."
Uraraka noticed him looking at her, and he looked a little confused.
"Why would I hate you? You didn't do anything wrong," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka couldn't look away from him as he stared at her. Then right at the moment, they felt something.
Something connected.
