Kitsune was soon packed and was ready to leave sooner than anyone expected. Mr. Aizawa helped her carry some of her things down to the common room. A couple of other teachers came over to help escort her back to her apartment. Uraraka and Bakugo said bye, finally feeling like things were back to normal.
Kitsune noticed Uraraka looked upset that she was leaving and wrote something down on a piece of paper. She gave it to Uraraka, and she looked at it curiously. It was a phone number.
"Please call or text me whenever you want to," Kitsune said to her, "I wouldn't mind having a friend to talk to."
Uraraka felt so good to have found a friend through all of this. Uraraka gave her a hug, and Kitsune soon left. Uraraka held the phone number in her hand, feeling a lot better. But then she noticed Bakugo looking at her and something about it bothered her. She felt like he might not want to hang out with her, at least not like they just did during the hiking trail. She grabbed her backpack and decided to unpack her things in her room.
Everyone noticed Uraraka looking a little upset and thought that it had to do with Kitsune leaving. Bakugo was the only one that felt like it had to do with something else. He didn't know what it was exactly, but he could tell that something was bothering her.
Uraraka was soon in her room and unpacked her backpack. She noticed how Bakugo packed it, and it felt more organized than she expected. For someone like Bakugo, she expected it to be crammed in there but he actually tucked things in there neatly so things weren't toppling inside of it. Something about it reminded her of how clean and organized his room is. She remembered how weird it was to see his dorm room for the first time. She wasn't expecting it to look so clean and organized. She actually expected it to be pretty messy.
Something about it made her kind of miss it, even though she was glad to be back to normal. She definitely didn't think she would actually miss any of this. She was at least glad to be back in her room. Once she was almost done unpacking, there was a knock at her door.
Uraraka figured it was Midoriya and wanted to help her out. She opened her door, and it was Bakugo. She definitely wasn't expecting him to show up. Those feelings came back and worried that he was upset about something.
"Bakugo. What're you doing here?" Uraraka asked him, "I thought you were hanging out with Kirishima."
He didn't say anything and just stood there looking at her. It made her flinch a little and hoped that things hadn't changed between them.
"Can we talk?" Bakugo asked finally.
Uraraka's eyes widened and didn't know what to say. She hesitated for a moment, but soon let him inside of her room. Once he sat down, she felt weird that he had stayed in here the whole time. But based on how clean her room was, she could tell that he was respectful of her space and things. That actually made her feel a lot better. For a while, Uraraka just sat on her bed as Bakugo sat on her desk chair. He didn't say anything for a while, which made her a little nervous. She thought that maybe he wanted to come over to say that things hadn't changed. That things were going to back to the way it used to be between them. She couldn't even look at him as he sat there not saying a word.
"Bakugo, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Uraraka asked him, "You clearly wanted to say something to me. I think I know what it is."
Bakugo's eyes widened, and he straightened up in her desk chair.
"You came here to tell me that things haven't changed," Uraraka said to him, "That things are going back to the way it used to be between us. Whatever happened to us during the hiking trail, it's over. So that means we're going to back to hating each other. All of those conversations that we had and amazing hero training, it's all gone."
Uraraka felt tears come up as she went through all of things that they did together. Something about it felt not quite right. Her vision got blurry as tears came up as she kept going.
"That's what you want, right? You don't see me as a friend. Someone to come to hang out with. Maybe even hero train with," Uraraka said to him, "All of those things were just things that we did because we had to."
Bakugo didn't say anything as Uraraka sat there crying. She looked up to see Bakugo not saying a word to her. He hadn't said anything to her the whole time as she broke down all of things that they did together. She couldn't help but get annoyed with him.
"Bakugo! Just, say something," Uraraka cried out, "You came up to talk, and you're not saying anything! Did you come up here just to see me cry? If that's the case, then you can go!"
Uraraka stood up, starting to get annoyed at him. He stared at her and didn't move. Bakugo stared at her piercing glare and stood up from her desk chair. They stood there for a moment, just staring at each other.
"How can we go back to normal when things have changed so much?" Bakugo asked her.
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock, hearing him say something that she wasn't expecting. Something about it made her stop crying.
"Yeah, we kind of argue a lot, but things feel different now. You can't deny that," Bakugo said to her, "Hero training, cooking dinner, the hiking trail. Hell, we shared our feelings with each other when we were stuck in each other's bodies. All of that wasn't something just because I felt I had to do it. I actually had a good time... hanging out with you. As weird as it is to admit it, I don't mind any of it."
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock and felt something inside of her feel much lighter. She even felt more tears coming as Bakugo said all of those things to her.
"S-So... You would actually consider hero training with me again, or maybe even going hiking?" Uraraka asked him, still letting tears run down her face.
"Yeah. I would," Bakugo said back, "Hero training with you wasn't that bad. I wouldn't mind doing it again. As for hiking, you could work on your stamina for that. I felt like I needed to take a break after barely making it up the hill."
Uraraka couldn't help but laugh at Bakugo and tried to wipe her tears.
"Yeah. I guess my stamina could use some work," Uraraka said to him, "But maybe we could hero train tomorrow. I wouldn't mind beating you again."
Bakugo couldn't help but give her a competitive smirk.
"You think you could actually beat me now? After having my quirk for a while?" Bakugo pointed out, "Don't forget, I hero trained with your quirk as well. I might've picked up a few tricks."
"Yeah? Don't forget, I made my own special move with your quirk," Uraraka said to him in a teasing tone, "I'd say that's pretty impressive since I only had your quirk for a week."
"It was only a week?! It felt like it was a whole month!" Bakugo cried out.
Uraraka couldn't help but burst out laughing at his face. Bakugo noticed and was able to calm down.
"I really don't mind being friends with you, Bakugo," Uraraka said to him, "It's way better than yelling and arguing all the time. You've gotta admit, it was kind of nice just hanging out together... as friends..."
Bakugo hesitated for a moment, causing Uraraka to look up at him. He rubbed the back of his neck as he thought about what to say next.
"Yeah. It was kind of... less frustrating... You're not as annoying as the others in Class 1-A," Bakugo said to her, "I guess... I wouldn't mind... being friends with you..."
Uraraka smiled and felt so much better just from him saying that to her.
"I don't mind being friends with you. As long as you back off Izuku a little bit," Uraraka said to him, "He is my boyfriend after all."
"I don't need the reminder. Especially since that's all I could feel all week," Bakugo said back, feeling a slight blemish across his face, "I guess I could give him a break. He's not bothering me as much as he used to."
"Really? It didn't feel like that when I sat behind him," Uraraka said to him, "Seriously. He's drops a pencil, and it bugged me. That's a bit dramatic, even for you Bakugo."
Bakugo's eyes widened and felt that for some reason. Something about that did seem a bit ridiculous hearing it from her.
"Yeah. I guess I could lighten up a bit," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka felt really good about this and realized what time it was. It was almost time for lunch, and Midoriya wanted to work on some homework with her now that things were getting back to normal.
"I better get ready for lunch. I promised Izuku that I would help him with some homework," Uraraka said to him.
Bakugo understood and headed out of her dorm room. He didn't say anything as he walked out, but Uraraka said something before closing her door.
"Umm... Thanks Bakugo," Uraraka said to him.
Bakugo was confused and wondered where she was going with this.
"Huh? For what?" Bakugo asked back.
Uraraka hesitated, but said it anyway.
"For hearing me out... and for being my friend," Uraraka said to him with a smile.
Bakugo's eyes softened a bit and looked back at her, feeling a sense of relief coming from her.
"...Sure..."
Uraraka closed her door, and Bakugo walked away feeling relaxed. He hadn't felt this way in a while. Ever since him and Uraraka switched back, he's been feeling much more comfortable being around his classmates. Something about being back to normal brought things up that he didn't expect, including how he felt about Kirishima.
He gripped onto his shirt, feeling something coming up.
Then he remembered how good it felt to talk about these things with Uraraka. How natural it felt to hang out with her. Something about it just felt so comforting to have a friend like her.
"...Friends... huh...?"
Here it is! That was pretty interesting! It's all over! That was a fun and different story to write! I really enjoyed writing it, and I even enjoyed adding in a my own character, Mei Kitsune! I wanted to make a character that helped them through all of this, and I thought her quirk was kind of interesting as it kept going. Maybe she'll come up again, I don't know yet! We'll see! I hope everyone liked it! There will definitely be another story to come from this! I don't know if anyone noticed a little hints to other stories, but please let me know down in the comments!
Also, I was kind of inspired by Your Name if anyone noticed! I feel it just had that similar tone to it.
I hoped you like it!
