As Optimus led Lancex and the others back to the Autobot base, Optimus was desperately trying to hide the strange pulsing he felt in his spark as well as the emotions running through him as he spent time so close to Lancex. Optimus could only hope that no one noticed even as he made note to seek out information from Ratchet. What Optimus didn't realize that while Lancex seemed somewhat oblivious to how Optimus felt, Ratchet and Prowl had picked up something more, while Bee and Bulkhead didn't know why but for some reason, the boss bot was acting unusual since Lancex showed up.
Meanwhile, soon enough for some but not for others, the five Autobots and Lancex returned to the run down building that had turned into the Autobot base. Even so, Lancex was impressed as he observed all of what was around him while the others transformed back to their robot forms. "Alright, after that ordeal, I want to see everyone in the med bay in the order I choose – Lancex and Optimus you two are first" Ratchet announced, secretly sensing something but still protecting the two In front of the others. Optimus and Lancex nodded and followed while the other three wandered elsewhere for now, with All three surprised that Lancex showed no fear of Ratchet and with Prowl feeling even more certain Optimus may have feelings for Lancex as well as that something was up with Lancex's unusual sword.
Back with Ratchet, Optimus, and Lancex, the three were now in what passed for a med bay. Ratchet barked at Lancex to get up on the berth. Fearlessly, the bot took off his sword, handed to Optimus and then sat on the berth. Optimus didn't show it, but he was impressed. Very few had little to no reaction when Ratchet barked at them. But the sword drew Optimus' attention. It was light yet heavy, sharp yet not too sharp. It seemed to have a life of its own. Optimus was careful, as one never knew what a strange weapon could do. Ryu, hiding in the sword at the time, was grateful and impressed, as Ryu knew that this mostly plain looking and unassuming sword held great power, not including himself.
And while it seemed Optimus occupied himself with the sword, Ratchet made several scans and fixed a few things on Lancex. Ratchet was surprised by some of the things he found, such as a lack of a T-cog and the huge sparkling chamber buried deep inside. Ratchet did another scan and found that Lancex was indeed a submissive, well a mech capable of carrying sparklings, and one that would not be able to be satiated with one mate alone. The bot would need at least two powerful bots to care for his needs. Ratchet also discovered that because of the previous, Lancex was able to heal quicker than most bots and stronger than most bots to fend off unwanted suitors. This was going to make things quite a challenge, as if the Optimus was drawn to the bot, who in the universe would be the potential other mate. Ratchet wasn't sure he even wanted to think about that right now.
