The Rise of Lotor
ESKK: Time to begin chapter 4 hope you all enjoy.
(Start Castle of Lions comm room)
Kalvin stood in the Castle of Lions comms room as he was in contact with Anderson. After Allura had gotten the knowledge that she needed from Oriande she had started to work on the final Sincline Flyer with Lotor. Plus, with no immediate threats going on Penny, Shiala, and Hector decided to start a D&D campaign while they waited for something to do. Leon was on the extra net surfing the Paladins fanbase no doubt to feed his ego a little bit.
"Shepard." Anderson greeted when his hologram appeared. "I was able to get your request put through a SPECTRE should be in your area." Anderson said which made Kalvin smile.
"Thank you, sir." Kalvin said and thus Anderson nodded.
"One last thing... it's been a year... how are you holding up?" Anderson asked as he looked to Kalvin a look of concern.
"Honestly... I'm just trying." Kalvin said as he recalled how it all came apart. The Normandy crew broke apart after his father had been spaced. Wrex went back to Tuchanka, Tali returned to her fleet, Garrus was trying to become a SPECTRE, Liara had been on again off again when they tried to contact her, and Kaiden was doing what he could. Kalvin had been staying with Ashley and her family leading up to the funeral and a bit afterwards. "I miss him." Kalvin admitted as he blamed himself for not being fast enough.
"We all do son, we all do." Anderson said as he lost a surrogate son in John that day. "Keep up the good work." Anderson said and thus the call ended with Kalvin nodding. Kalvin knew he had to get ready and that meant prepping his Lion for a trip to the Quantum Abyss. Whatever Lotor was hiding it had to be there.
(Later at the Black Lion's den)
Kalvin was loading his last bit of supplies into the Black Lion. Putting the crate down he took a breath and dusted his hands. It was then that a familiar voice called to him. "What are you doing?" Allura was heard as she caught Kalvin off guard.
"Allura?!" Kalvin cried out as he was shocked by her.
"Kal why are you stocking up on supplies are you going somewhere?" Allura asked with concern for Kalvin.
"Lu... the Council asked for me to help one of their SPECTRE's in an investigation of theirs." Kalvin said lying through his teeth. "I'm actually on my way to meet with them and..." Kalvin began but Allura cut him off.
"Kal... is something wrong?" Allura asked with concern for Kalvin.
"What makes you think that?" Kalvin asked as he was worried Allura saw right through him.
"You've been out of sorts ever since we met Lotor and his crew." Allura said making it clear that she did see through him.
Kalvin saw that he could not lie his way out of this. "Your right." Kalvin said knowing Allura would get upset. "It's been bugging me you know he's been awake for a whole year and chose now to ask for our help." Kalvin said as he looked to Allura. "I know I sound paranoid but it's this gut feeling that's scratching the back of my head." Kalvin said as Allura saw what it was.
"You still don't trust him." Allura said as she saw what Kalvin was saying.
"Yeah... I'm going to meet with a SPECTRE to help me look into his base." Kalvin said referring to the Quantum Abyss. "I rather look into it and be wrong then to let it slide and be right." Kalvin said showing that he wanted to be careful.
"Kalvin he's helped us a great deal and..." Allura trailed off but then sighed. "Look Kal your right about the wait time and if this will give you some peace of mind, I won't stop you." Allura said knowing Kalvin was like his father like that. "But if your wrong I expect a profound apology." Allura said but then Kalvin smirked.
"I'll take you to the Citadel for a romantic dinner as an apology." Kalvin added and thus Allura smirked.
"I'll hold you to that." Allura said and thus Kalvin gave Allura a kiss on the cheek before taking the crate and heading into the Lion.
(Later)
The Black Lion took off and was now flying through space. With Kalvin in the cockpit, he sat there for a moment before he let out a sigh. "So, are you going to stay cloaked Kasumi or are you going to show yourself?" Kalvin asked and thus Kasumi appeared from the shadows undoing her cloak.
"How long did you know?" Kasumi asked as she was shocked when Kalvin called her out. Seeing the shocked look Kalvin smirked a bit before he focused on driving.
"Since Omega, if you had avoided raiding Penny's pudding I would not have known." Kalvin said as he knew how Penny can get with her pudding. "Plus, Leon was complaining that our instant noodles were running low that also tipped me off." Kalvin added making Kasumi pout for her sloppiness. "Anyway, I'm actually glad you're here, I might need you to help hack an advance door from an old species." Kalvin said as Kasumi heard this.
"And what's in it for me?" Kasumi asked and thus Kalvin smirked.
"You don't get locked in here as the autopilot takes you to an Alliance ship for attacking me, stowing away, and your previous attempt at stealing the Red Lion. Not to mention escaping Alliance custody." Kalvin said as Kasumi glared at Kalvin for that.
"Well played." Kasumi said and thus she sat down on the chair, activated her omni-tool, and began playing a game she downloaded to pass the time.
(Meanwhile over with Leon)
Leon was in the training room as he had several drones firing at him. With his Bayard rifle active he fired upon the drones as he was improving his skills with it. This was the scene Allura walked in on as she saw Leon hard at work. Moving to the side Leon switched his rifle to its sniper form and began making shots while keeping from being hit.
Of course, it would not last as Leon got hit forcing him to bring up his shield. Growling he tried to hold his ground as he knew that he needed to improve. Those bug things from before got the upper hand on them it bothered Leon. He knew they were the ones to shoot down the Normandy making Kalvin an orphan and it infuriated him.
He hated it he hated to see those he cared for suffer. The beams echoed in his head the battles the wars Leon growled and soon his Bayard responded. It glowed and soon enough with a roar Leon swung revealing his Bayard had become a broadsword. Using the new weapon Leon sliced through the drones taking them out with a powerful swing.
Once he was done the training program turned off and Leon looked at his Bayard. "Wow." Leon said seeing what became of his Bayard.
"I haven't seen that weapon in over 50,000 years." Allura said amazed at what she was seeing.
"Princess." Leon greeted as he saw Allura here.
"It's an Altean broadsword." Allura said as she walked over to admire the sword. "My father used one just like it." Allura said as she recalled it to be her father's Bayard.
"I think your Bayard has shown you what we've all been seeing, your growth." Allura said as she smiled to Leon.
"Hey, I can be mature." Leon said with a smirk on his face.
"Sure, you can." Allura quipped but then walked close to Leon. "But Leon if you are planning to control a weapon this powerful." Allura began as she showed herself to be helping Leon with his grip. She then knocked his feet out from under him disarming Leon and sending him to the ground. "You're going to need to wort on your stance." Allura said holding the Bayard before it reverted to its base form.
"Good to know." Leon groaned as he then began to get back up.
(Scene Break over with Kalvin)
The Black Lion was making the first stop at the coordinates Anderson sent to meet the Council SPECTRE. From what Anderson told Kalvin this SPECTRE was good at her job and knew to keep a low profile. She was an Asari by the name of Tela Vasir, and they were supposed to meet her at a club in Illium called, Eternity. If all goes well, she will help Kalvin out. Kalvin hoped however that this SPECTRE will be willing to work with Kasumi.
When they first arrived, there were a lot of people that were surprise that one of the lions of Voltron had come Illium as it fly in and landed at the Port area where the lion lean down and let Kalvin and Kasumi out with the thief girl was stretching out her arms a bit as she said, "That was quite a nice ride within these lions, and I know the red lion is supposed to be one of the fastest lions out of the 5, but I think that more of an exaggeration."
"Well, the black lion is pretty fast on its own, but the red lion can handle speed like hyper Mach 2 with ease, and still out maneuver at least some if not all of the best fighter ships around, but I wouldn't count the Black lion out as well," Kalvin said as he and Leon have done races with the lions before and it always been close calls on crashing a lot, and thankfully they never did, but always came close of doing so.
"Interesting, so where is this SPECTRE you're supposed to meet at?" Kasumi said as Kalvin came to the nearest terminal and downloaded a map to his omni tool and look for this Eternity place, which he soon found as he said, "Keep close, and keep your hands to yourself, as I maybe bringing you along to help, does not mean my paladin status is the same as a SPECTRE to keep you out of trouble."
"And where's the fun in that?" Kasumi said as kelvin shot her a glare as she gave him a playful smile as they walked around soon finding The Eternity club, as a bouncer saw them, he was about to stop them until he saw who one of them was being a paladin of Voltron and by the color of the uniform, he knew it was the head of Voltron itself, as they let them on through without problems as Kasumi said, "It seem you have a lot of influence here regardless of your age."
"Not like it matters all that much to me but being let in without question is helpful I guess," Kalvin said as they walk into the club and Kalvin was thankful it wasn't a strip joint as Allura would kill him, as it not like the club at Omega, but it still had near naked Asari girls dancing, with some sweet and smooth techno dubstep music, not wild but not soft either with Kasumi enjoy the feel of the place as she said, "Fancy place, isn't it."
"Yeah, let find this SPECTRE and get going fast as we can," Kalvin said as he and Kasumi looked around for this SPECTRE they need to meet up with as suddenly Kalvin spotted someone that seem out of the ordinary, seeing an Asari in full gear and packing heat who wasn't a commando, and given the limited laws of Illium on having firearms unless your security, military, or a law enforcement, you cannot open carry weapons, unless your also a SPECTRE.
"Over there," Kalvin pointed the Asari out as Kasumi just smile at this as she thought this may be interesting as they approach the Asari's both as she was enjoying a drink for the moment until she spotted Kalvin coming up to her as she smile and said, "Do you need something kid? As I don't think the bar serves minors here."
"Given I'm almost eighteen, and everything I've been through I'm hardly much of a kid." Kalvin said as he joined the Asari. "But I'm not here for a drink, I'm looking for an Asari SPECTRE that was assigned to help me out with a problem and given how this place is with its gun laws, you must be the one I'm looking for," Kalvin said as the Asari girl give a small laugh to that as she then said, "Well at least you're not simple minded."
The Asari woman then stood up as she gave Kalvin a calculated look. "The name is Tela Vasir, the one you've been looking for, and you must be the famous black paladin of Voltron, Kalvin Shepard." She said as Kalvin nodded to this. "Your quite famous you know, almost make me want to ask you to sign my chest plate."
"I get that... a lot," Kalvin said as he rolled his eyes at the small jab she made there. Judging by the tone of his voice it was clear that Kalvin does not enjoy being famous as much as Leon does. Tela could only laugh at that as she said, "So what's this investigation that you're doing anyways?"
"I'm about to break into a well secure facility within the Quantum abyss and find any evident of someone who I believe isn't telling the whole story," Kalvin said as Tela looks at him and said, "You serious, that place is a death trap if you go there."
"Maybe, but I know a safe route, thanks to a certain someone, they showed me a safe passage through it," Kalvin said as Tela looks at him for a moment before smiling as she said, "Well I guess that is something, but still one thing, who this person you're talking about anyways?"
"A guy named Lotor, as he is the son of Zarkon, the Prince of the Galra from 50,000 years ago," Kalvin said as Tela soon ask, "So what the problem with the, he hitting on your Princess?"
"In a way I almost wish it was that," Kalvin said as royal prince hitting on princess, as both are the last royalty of their kind with the prince would try to woo the princess to marrying him, typical stereotype which is given, but he also hated that idea as well, but it wasn't that he doesn't trust the guy for as he went on saying, "He told us he's been awake for over a year, and he help save the Alteans 50,000 years ago, and make a mistake of putting them in a cryogenic sleep as well, and needed our help to save them now."
"So, what you're saying, you think he's not trying to save them?" Tela said as Kalvin tile his head off a bit as he went on saying, "Maybe, he could be, but also something else as well, but until I know for sure, I need to find what he is hiding."
"Alright then, I'll help you out. I've been getting a lot of dull mission lately, maybe this could help me get the rush off of me, but just one question" Tela said as she then pointed out to Kasumi and said, "What up with this one?"
"An acquaintance of mine that knows their way around with Hacking, and also as back up if needed, I hope you don't mind," Kalvin said as the Asari SPECTRE shrugs a bit and said, "Not really my place to ask question, only get results."
"Alright then, lets head out," Kalvin said with Tela said, "Well I was done anyways with my drink."
(scene break)
Kalvin, Kasumi, and Tela soon reach the black lion with Tela and Kasumi strap into the passenger seal within the black lion as Tela said, "So how are we going to get to the Quantum abyss, it would at least take us 2 days by Mass relay to get near, and maybe another week to get their by normal speeds, unless you got a wormhole ready."
"No wormhole, but we're not taking the normal route either," Kalvin said as Tela soon ask, "If we're not going by wormhole or mass relay, then what are we taking?"
"By my lion of course," Kalvin said as suddenly the black lion took off at great speeds as the ladies suddenly get push back in their seats as they felt the pressure on their bodies, the G-force going against them as Kalvin held on tightly to his control as he focus is control before he give a roaring sound as the wings on its back suddenly glows brightly summoning forth wings of light as the lion flag its wing sending it across space at light speed and beyond.
Light flashes on the screen as the lion passes many- many stars as they were just zooming by them until it was nothing but streaks of light with Kalvin keep it up as much as he can, pushing the lion energy to the max as the girl held on as much as they can with Kasumi soon yells out, "How much more of this?"
"I can't keep…awake… much longer," Tela said as she struggle to stay awake with the G-force pushing down on her causing to have some difficulty breathing as Kalvin said, "Almost there, just a little… more."
The ladies were about to pass out until Kalvin pull back on the control slightly causing the lion to slow down and ending the light speed travel as the lion came out of hyperspace as it flew near the destination as Kalvin said, "We made it… the Quantum abyss."
"Whoa," Kasumi as she could not believe they made it to the Quantum Abyss in such short time, and the site of it was no words can explain to the site, with Tela said, "Well I got to say this is impressive, as I never thought I would see something like, and I heard all John Shepard had done, and don't get me started on Jane either."
"Wait, you know my mom?" Kalvin said as he was surprised that his mother had actually met a SPECTRE.
"Yeah, I knew her, we meet each other during a Batarian Slave raid, and we gotten in a fight or two, and some other stuff," Tela as she blush a bit to the thought of what She and Jane did in the past then Kalvin said, "What sort of stuff?"
"I Don't want to talk about it," Tela said as she tries to avoid conversation as Kasumi took a guess of what happen as she soon said, "Maybe she got you so hot and bothered but when you tried to do a melding with her, she pulls a fast one and leaves you… Blue balled."
"Hey! Keep your nose out of my personal life," Tela said as Kasumi just laugh at this as she enjoyed that with Kalvin speaking up saying, "I agree, the last thing I want to image is my mother doing… that."
He wanted to keep the image of his mother in his mind as is and not what Kasumi is suggesting as she said, "Ah, spoil sport."
"Anyways I'm going in, and don't worry I'll take it slow this time," Kalvin said as he head around to find the safe passage route that Lotor had showed him before hopefully it still safe.
(at the castle of lions)
Allura was already working on the Sincline ships with the 3rd one almost completed, Allura decided to work on the first two ships first as she infusing the ships with Quintessence bit by bit she was getting it done using the knowledge she had gain from Oriande while lotor started to explain something as he said, "Your father, King Alfor, was a gifted alchemist, whose unique ability allowed him to infuse the Voltron ore with Altean energy, granting it and the paladins access to the Quintessence field. Now you, Allura, possess that same gift."
Allura stop for a moment speak as she said to Lotor, "Our visit to Oriande has taught me more than I ever thought possible. Thank you."
"No thank you Princess, with your help, we can finally revive the Altean race, and gain an advantage over the reapers. You are the key to bringing peace to the universe," Lotor said as Allura thought about the word peace as she said, "My father wanted the same thing when he built the lions. It is an honor to follow in his footsteps and continue his work and to do so alongside my friend and family, and alongside you as well."
"Like the days of long ago our royal alliance will inspire others," Lotor said as he held Allura at her arms as he thought there was a spark that was about to happen as he lean in close to Allura and almost about to kiss her until Allura pulled away as she said, "I'm sorry, but I can't."
"You can't?" Lotor said a bit surprise by this as Allura turn around and put her a hand on her arm and said, "I'm sorry to say but... my heart belong to another."
"I see." Lotor said as he stepped back before anything could happen. "My apologies." Lotor said as the way he spoke showed he was being understanding.
Just the Leon was heard clearing his throat and looking to the source the duo saw Leon standing there with Hector and Penny. "Are you guys starting without us?" Penny asked with a raised brow.
"Yeah, didn't think to call the engineers before you started to build your inter reality Quintessence field magical Altean super ship?" Hector asked as he had his hands on his hips a bit annoyed by this.
"We have an engineer team on standby." Leon added pointing his thumb behind him gesturing that they can call said team at any time.
Allura sighed for a moment before getting to what she needed to say. "I appreciate that you want to help, unfortunately there's not a lot for you to do." Allura said as Lotor smiled upon the group.
"Infusing the common ore with Altean Alchemy is quite different from building a ship." Lotor said as he looked to the three Paladins.
"Magic." Hector and Penny both said as they had been around Allura long enough to become believers.
"We'll certainly call you and the engineer team if we are in need of assistance." Allura and thus Leon shrugged.
"Works for me." Leon said and thus they got leaving.
"Well, we got other things to do, like upgrading our armor." Hector said as he walked off.
"I had a few ideas we can try to utilize." Penny added as they headed out of the room. But then Leon stopped as he glanced back at the Princess and the prince noting them opening a projector. Lotor was oddly close to Allura and more so looking at the ships he also noted what seemed to be weapon armaments on the Sincline ship.
Raising a brow Leon thought bac to Kalvin and began noticing things were out of place. "Why does a Quintessence Harvesting ship need weapons?" Leon wondered as he felt something was wrong with all of this.
(Back over with Kalvin's team)
The Black Lion was flying through the path that Lotor had led him in before. "So, you took a big risk asking a SPECTRE for help." Tela said as she looked to Kalvin.
"I know." Kalvin said flying the path that was safe to travel. He should thank Lotor for this but only after Kalvin confirmed his guilt or innocence. "But I'm following my gut and right now it's telling me there's something more going on." Kalvin said as he flew the path.
"Or maybe your jealous and paranoid?" Kasumi asked and Kalvin glared at her.
"I got a SPECTRE here and I'm not afraid to let her arrest you." Kalvin threatened the thief causing her to ease back. Just then Kalvin's view revealed creatures in white and large eyes. "The fuck!?" Kalvin asked when he saw it and in turn the creatures snarled and attacked the Black Lion. Thankfully, Kalvin spin through them as he avoided their attempts at attack.
"What are those things?!" Tela asked as she saw them.
"No clue but their going down!" Kalvin responded as he maneuvered his Lion to fire off its beams at them. He managed to take two down before a third vanished into energy. Caught by surprise Kalvin could not find it when it suddenly appeared inside the lion's cockpit.
"SHIT!" Kasumi cried out and in turn Tela used her Biotics to hold it in place. Kasumi acted fast and fired her gun into the things eye causing it to break apart on contact.
"Thank you." Kalvin said and thus focused on the last one. The Black Lion then grabbed it before throwing it into the Quantum Abyss where it was torn apart after being stretched by the gravitational pulls.
"What were those things?" Kasumi asked shocked by this. After all monsters capable of breathing in space just do not exist, not like that.
"Dead." Kalvin said as he focused on flying for now. HE knew those things did not contribute as evidence but still they were not there before. Did Lotor know about them or was this just a coincidence for them? Kalvin was not going to find out anything staying around here. So, increasing he speed Kalvin continued his path towards Lotors hidden colony.
(Back at the Castle of Lions)
Leon was sitting at a console as Penny and Hector were working on some new upgrades for their Paladin Armors. He could not stop thinking about the Sincline flyer and the weapons it had. Why was Lotor equipping weapons to a vehicle that was meant to harvest quintessence? Something didn't add up and it was eating at Leon the more he thought about it.
"Leon? Hey Leon!" Penny cried out and thus Leon was brought out of his thoughts.
"What is it?" Leon asked looking over to Leon.
"Dude your distracted something up with you?" Hector asked as he looked to Leon.
"Guys... these ships are meant to harvest Quintessence, right?" Leon asked as he voiced his concern.
"Allegedly why?" Penny asked with a raised brow.
"Ok but if that's the case why is it armed with weapons?" Leon asked as Hector shrugged to this.
"I don't know self-defense?" Hector asked as he looked confused.
"What's going on?" Penny asked with concern over what Leon was thinking.
"I don't know and that's what's bugging me." Leon said before Hector had a response.
"Come on dude you're starting to sound like Kalvin." Hector said and thus Penny noticed something.
"Speaking of where is he?" Penny asked noting that Kalvin had been missing all day.
"Looking into something, which I should be doing also." Leon said taking his leave to check a few things. Something about all of this stank and Leon wanted to get to the bottom of it.
(Back with Kalvin's team)
They soon made it to the planet's moon where Lotor has his base at, but that no where they were heading at as Kalvin wanted to investigate the other facility as he had landed the lion at a distant just in case lotor had any sensor that could alert him, as he look through a bare of digital binoculars and zoom in as he saw the facility was dome like and wonder why would Lotor had a dome building as most idea for dome are used for setting up civilization living which Kalvin knew Lotor never mention any stuff like that.
"So where do we go from here now?" Tela question as she had her weapon ready for action just in case, they come across another one of those eyeball things as Kalvin said, "We go on foot, the path is stable enough to travel across, as long as we don't run into any more of those creatures."
"Well, I suppose that ain't too bad to do," Kasumi said as Kalvin said, "Let's move."
"You're the boss," Tela said as she was mostly following Kalvin due to orders but interested where this mission may lead too as they walk across the moon surface as gravy was stable enough so they don't go jumping all over the place, and there was air as no doubt Lotor had somehow put an atmosphere around the moon and made it breathable but he cannot shake this feeling something was going to happen as there was an animal cry of sort as Kalvin stop for a moment and saw something unexpected as nearby Kalvin saw more of those eyeball thing and they were moving fast, as if they were chasing something while he also saw something like a flash of blue as Kalvin said, "What the?"
Suddenly he found himself being tackled when the blue flash appear before him and saw… an alien wolf pup? Being slam to the ground hard as he groan a bit as Kasumi said, "Well that's unexpected."
"What the hell?" Tela said as she points her gun at the wolf alien as Kalvin put his hand up and said, "Wait stop!"
Kalvin look to the wolf creature as he saw the look in his eyes seeing it was hurt and afraid, as he slowly raise his hand to the wolf and pet it a bit as it flinch a bit to the touch but froze as Kalvin pet it more as it seem nuzzle into his hand as he said, "It seem he was scared and running away from those creatures."
"And speaking of heads up!" Tela said as those eyeball creature came at them as Tela started shooting with Kasumi doing so as well, with Kalvin held the wolf pup in his arms and pull out his mother pistol and fire upon the creature as well as he can't risk melee attacks given how the creatures are, as the three of them quickly took them out fast, as they exploded into a paste before catching their breath.
"I Think we got them all," Kalvin said as he look at the wolf pup as he slowly put him down and give him a bat on the head and said to him, "Your safe now little buddy. Go on home, alright?"
The wolf looks at him as it's did a cute puppy look and title its head to the side as Kalvin could not help but laugh at this as he pets the alien wolf puppy a bit and said, "Be safe little guy."
With that Kalvin and the two ladies continue their journey to the facility as Kasumi said, "Cute little thing."
"It was, but I can't take him with me, we're on a mission and don't want to hurt the little guy," Kalvin said as Tela said, "Yeah, and a little less messy to clean up after too if that thing came along."
Unaware to them as the wolf look to Kalvin as he walks away, the wolf pup teleported close behind and follow in silent.
After a little bit they soon were upon the dome facility as Kalvin said, "Almost there, once we get in, we need to find anything out of the ordinary."
"Should be too hard, hacking it one of my specialties," Kasumi said as then suddenly Galra drones, similar looking to the one that penny used to have that held the A.I, suddenly appeared around them as they charge up their shots as Kalvin said, "Move!"
Kasumi and Tela took cover as the drone started firing at them with Kalvin brought out his shield and tank the shots while summoning forth his Bayard and got up closer to them as he cuts one down before bash another with his shield with two more drones suddenly came up behind him, he quickly turn and held up his shield blocking their shot before throwing his dagger at one of them causing it to die as it fell before he rush the other one and stab throw it with ease, before more showed up.
With Tela and Kasumi watch this, they were impressed how the black paladin was fighting against the drones with ease, as Tela knew kelvin could be one hell of a SPECTRE himself if he ever come of age, then suddenly one drone appeared behind Kalvin as it was about to shot him until a familiar blue wolf pup appear to the side of it and grab it in its teeth before biting down on it hard which cause it to spark a bit as kelvin was surprise to see the little guy again and helped him out a bit.
"Huh." Kalvin mused as he went over and kneeled down by the pup. Kalvin then picked up the wolf in one hand and then proceeded to grab the drone in the other. "Drop it, drop it." Kalvin said sternly as the pup put up a fight but let go none the less.
"Well looks like someone has a new pet." Kasumi said noting what was happening.
"Animals form pact mentalities and by the looks of it, this thing likes you." Tela said as the Asari SPECTRE noted how the creature was oddly comfortable. Kalvin then reached into his person and pulled out dried preserved meat for the pup. It sniffed the offering and then took the meat from Kalvin and savored the first taste of real food in a long while.
"Case and point." Kasumi added and thus Kalvin put the wolf down and focused on the facility.
"Let's keep moving." Kalvin said focusing on the mission. "The wolf can stay." Kalvin said as the wolf was already following him like the lost puppy he was.
"That is what we call man's best friend." Kasumi said as she personally preferred cats over dogs... or wolves as the case may be.
Tela rolled her eyes and followed after Kalvin because if he was right about this Lotor fella then chances are the Citadel might be in danger. They still had yet to fully recover from the crap that the Geth pulled a year ago.
(Back at the Castle of Lions)
Leon was in the lounge area with a data pad in his hand. He was scrolling through the Castles daily logs trying to find something out of the norm. So far all he found was regular reports nothing strange and noting out of place. Yet that itch in the back of his head was bugging him just like a bad lunch. Scrolling through the files Leon kept looking trying to find some evidence.
Just then the mice came in and saw what Leon was doing before running over to him. As they climbed the seat, they began crawling on him causing Leon to push them aside. "Not now." Leon said as he focused on what he was doing. In turn one got on his head and then proceeded to jump into his mouth to get his attention. Leon spat the mice out and grabbed them. "DO YOU RODENTS MIND!?" Leon yelled as he glared at them. They stayed there before Leon sighed and put them down before going back to the data pad.
"Look something fishy is going on around here, who puts heavy grade weapons on a harvest ship?" Leon asked as he got to work. "For the Reaper's maybe but not at this stage." Leon said as he kept his work going. "And is it just me or does Lotor seem to be getting way to close to Allura." Leon added as he scrolled through the files. "Like dude she's seeing someone already find another fish in the sea because... wait a second." Leon stopped as he zoomed in on a security image. "What the heck?" Leon asked as he then projected the image of the big screen.
There was a volunteer worker on it moving towards the main security terminal. IT was like he was in some sort of trance which confused Leon. He soon got the reason why when Narti appeared behind him holding her hand to his back.
"Narti?" Leon asked when he saw one of Lotor's Generals on the screen. The volunteer worker then accessed the computer terminal before he stepped aside to allow Narti access to it. Once that was done Narti produced a flash drive and plugged it into the terminal. But before he could see anything else Kova the cat appeared hissing at the camera before Narti pulled a silenced gun and fired at it leading to static.
"SHIT!" Leon cursed and thus he got up and ran.
(In the Security room)
Leon arrived at the room and in turn looked around for the missing camera. He had a copy of the image on his data pad and using the image to match up the view he soon saw where the Camera was or where it used to be. The Camera had been replaced since then, but it was clearly a; new one.
"This is not good." Leon said as he needed to find Penny to scrub the system for any missing files, copied files, or added programs.
(Back with Allura and Lotor)
Allura was seen channeling her power into the Sincline ship as her hands glowed against the metal under her touch. Infusing it with Quintessence was a difficult process but Allura was enduring so her people can be cured of their affliction. Lotor was on another console as he continued to work on his own tasks.
Just then Allura collapsed falling to her knees trying to catch her breath. Lotor saw this and made his way over to Allura. "You've done much today princess you need your rest." Lotor said not wanting Allura to overexert herself. "We'll continue tomorrow." Lotor said once he was sure Allura was stable on her feet.
"There is still a long way to got but I'm proud of what we've accomplished together." Allura said as she knew it won't be much longer now before the Sincline was completed.
"None of this would be possible without you." Lotor said as he smiled upon Allura taking her hands into his. "The Black Paladins is most fortunate to have you in his life." Lotor said happy for Allura's aid in all of this. Allura smiled back
(Scene Break later in Allura's room)
Allura entered her bedroom and sighed when she saw that Kalvin had yet to return. No doubt he was still investigating Lotor and if not possibly keeping his promise for a romantic dinner. Heading to her vanity table she sat down and saw the mice there. "Well, hello there, what have you been up to?" Allura asked and thus the Mice saw her.
Allura's smile turned into a frown when one of the Mice impersonated Leon while another impersonated weapons showing Leon found weapons at the Sincline area. "Weapons? Why would Lotor be attaching weapons to his Sincline?" Allura asked as she found that odd and wondering how she failed to notice that.
The Mice then continued and showed through their actions a view of Lion finding an issue in the security footage. "Narti was here?" Allura asked as that didn't make sense. The only ones who had been on board the Castle of Lions from Lotor's ship had been Lotor himself and Acxa. "Surely there was some kind of mistake." Allura said and the mice already had their response to her. "Leon already looked into it and found the camera had been replaced?" Allura asked and thus with a nod Allura saw something was wrong.
"Was Kalvin... right?" Allura asked as she began to grow concerned over what Lotor was doing. Lotor had defended the weapons were mainly there for spare parts to apply to the Sincline and Allura took him at his word more so when he did in fact dismantle some of the weapons for parts. "What's going on around here?" Allura asked and thus she hoped Kalvin was ok.
(Meanwhile with Kalvin's team)
Kalvin, Tela, and Kasumi arrived at the exterior of the base Lotor had told Kalvin about. "This is the place where the Colony and sick colonists are located." Kalvin said as the trio had their rebreathers on and had isolated their suits to avoid being infected or infecting the Altean's with foreign contaminants.
"Alright then let's get inside." Tela said as she wanted to see exactly what this Lotor was hiding behind closed doors.
Heading to the door they found a console and with a nod Kasumi got to work. As she began hacking into the system, she saw how complex it was and was a bit worried. "Well, this is complex." Kasumi said as she started hacking.
"Will that be a problem?" Kalvin asked as he looked to Kasumi.
Kasumi smirked as she then saw the red light turn green. "Nope." Kasumi said and thus the door was open. "After you." She said and thus they entered the facility.
(Later inside)
The trio made it inside and were sneaking around noting a distinct lack of security. Either Lotor was cocky, or he thought no one would be crazy enough to make it this far. With guns drawn the trio moved through the hall until they got to the next door. Kasumi hacked into it having taken care of a few other tasks on the way and in turn the door opened up for them.
What they found caught them completely off guard. They found themselves right outside a line of trees in an open field. "What the hell?" Kasumi asked when she saw the world passed the door.
"What is all of this?" Kalvin asked at a loss over what they had found.
"Ok this is... mildly concerning." Tela said as she knew this was not normal. You don't hide something like this out here unless you have a reason to hide it.
(Later in the forest)
After regaining themselves from their previous stupor the group made their way through the forest trying to find something sentient. "Wait I hear something." Kalvin suddenly said as the trio stopped upon hearing humming. Kasumi activated her cloak while Kalvin and Tela hid behind the trees. Looking past the tree Kalvin was wide eyed upon what he found.
Down by the river with a basket of clothing was a young woman in clothing similar to what Allura had originally been found in. She had long blond hair pulled into tails and from what they saw she had pointed ears. Turning around upon the noise the girl revealed herself with life skin and clear Altean markings on her face.
"An Altean." Kalvin said shocked at what he found. Not only was this Altean alive but she was also healthy showing no signs of the ailment Lotor had claimed they were suffering from. "I knew he was hiding something." Kalvin said as he now had proof that Lotor was hiding something big from them.
