Final Exams Part 1
At the Watchtower, Dabi has given them an explanation about the Final Exams which was the first part called 'Written Exam'. Though, the students between Class 1-A and 1-B won't have any problems, this is if they ever get to study. However, the second part of the Final Exams is where the students will get to face someone in actual combat fight. Dabi also told them that they'll be in groups and try working together in either capture or run towards the exit.
"I see. So basically, the Final Exam you told us is where they get to put the skills to the test and see if they pass or not." Shayera clarified. "I don't think it'll be easy if they're going to face some actual criminals in the future."
"It's never easy when I did my part by trackin' down criminals for the bounty." Jonah Hex points out. "Yet, there's still not a single simple 'thank you'."
"So, did we, but we even face worse than the League of Villains." John Stewart adds seriously. "But I don't it matters since the Pro Heroes came along."
"Yeah, but some of the people didn't forget about us. We're still patrolling while traveling around the globe, fighting criminals." Donna Troy told him.
"True, but the Pro Heros only cared about is try to get all of the glory and fame, and money. They're trying to gain a reputation for their work and to gain popularity." William agrees. "That is something that I don't approve."
"Same here, I mean, who would do that?" Barry questioned, but earned a deadpan looks on their face. "What?"
"You did something similar to gain attention, remember?" Toya rhetorically questions. "You may be a hero, but you're also competitive and a bit of a show-off."
"Hey! I resent that!" Barry remarked, feeling offended.
"But he's not wrong though." James points out. "You did try to get some attention during your time with the Justice League."
Barry was about to argue, but he doesn't have the words to say.
"Moving on, considering of what we have witnessed of their powers." John Stewart said while changing the subject as the screen revealed the students Quirks in the Sports Festival while going through some of their backgrounds. "They have talent when it comes to superpowers, however they didn't have any formal training in combat, tactics, nor having to learn how to use it."
"Despite their capabilities, they rely too much of their powers." J'onn J'onzz adds. "Yet, they were to gain experience during the times of the number of incidents by fighting against the Talons, and being captured by the Riddler."
"And in USJ, they watched them fight against the criminals and Batman beat up Nomu." Toya said. "But still, it's not enough to become a Hero. And as far as I know, they still have long ways to go."
"That, and if they don't start getting some actual training and start learning how to use their powers, then they should pack up and leave." John Stewart comments seriously. "Otherwise, they'll get themselves killed if not properly trained."
"Well, all we know for one thing for sure, being a Hero doesn't defined by some school. Actions, compassion, and character is what defines them." William states. "But the world is too stupid to know that."
"Not the entire world, there are some people who knew about us, and learned about us." Black Adam points out. "While it's true that the government and the Pro Heroes don't know about it, they just don't understand what it means to be a Hero."
"Which is why we were making a big difference for the entire world, reminding them that the Justice League are still here." Barry told them, turned to Toya. "So, since the Final Exams is just around the corner, which team are you picking?"
Toya Todoroki can only respond with a smirk on his face, knew who's going to pick.
At U.A. High, the class from 1-A is over, but Aizawa has something to tell his students about the Final Exams.
"Alright, that's it for class today." Aizawa announces with a serious glare, gathering up the papers while walking towards the door and looking back to the students. "There's only one week left before your Final Exams begin. I'm sure you're all studying constantly, right? Don't forget to keep training, the Written Exam is only one element. There's also the practical portion to worry about. Good luck."
Aizawa closed the door behind him.
"I'VE BARELY EVEN TAKEN NOTES THIS SEMESTER!" Both Mina and Denki yelled together.
Having gotten 20th and 19th rank overall on the Midterm respectively, but while Denki was freaking out, Mina was smiling and laughing.
"With the Sports Festival and internships, I didn't have time to read the textbook!" Denki whines in panic.
"It's true that we haven't had very much free time lately." Tokoyami said with a sweat drop, gotten the 14th spot in Midterms.
"We'd barely learned anything when we took our midterms so they didn't seem all that hard, but I'm kinda worried about these." Rikado told him, both he and Koda got 12th and 11th respectively. "We've been through a lot and they probably won't pull any punches when it comes to testing us."
"As someone ranked in the top 10, I'm not all that concerned." Mineta said with a smug look.
Surprisingly, he was able to get 9th place.
"What?! You were 9th in the midterms?!" Mina and Denki yelled, completely flabbergasted.
"Aw, man! And here I thought you were one of us!" Mina said, points at him angrily.
"Don't you know a weirdo little creeps like you are only likable if they're kind of stupid?! Who's going to love you now?!" Denki exclaimed.
"Everyone, trust me." Mineta replied, still wearing a smug face.
"Ashido, Kaminari." Izuku called them, earned their attention and have gotten the 4th place in the midterm. "We've still got time to study! That way, we will all get to go the training camp together, right?"
"Yes!" Tenya agrees, holding up his hand which he's in 2nd place. "As class rep, I have high hopes that we'll make U.A. proud!"
"It's pretty hard to fail if you just pay attention in class, isn't it?" Shoto asked, gotten in 5th place in the midterms.
"Why you gotta cut down with it...?" Denki whines again, felt that one stab right in his heart.
And the student named Momo, got in 1st place in the midterm.
"Hey, don't worry about it, you two." Momo assures them. "I can catch you up to speed on the important topics, if you want."
"You're the best, Yao-momo!" Denki and Mina cried.
"I'm afraid I won't be any help when it comes to the practical, though." Momo said in a gloomy state which it got Shoto looks at her curiously.
"I've been studying, but...could you help me out, too?" Kyoka offered, ranked in 7th place and walking over to Momo. "I'm having some trouble understanding quadratic functions."
"Really?" Momo said surprisingly.
"Tutor me, please!" Hanata pleads, placed in 17th place in the midterm. "Classical Japanese is killing me!"
"Is there room for one more?" Ojiro adds, in 8th place in the midterm. "I'm afraid I'm falling behind a little."
"Pretty please!" Almost all of Class 1-A begged, causing Momo to gasp in delight.
"This is wonderful!" Momo said excitedly, jumped up to her feet and threw her fists in the air. "YES, let's do it!"
"All right!" Class 1-A cheered.
"Okay, then. We can hold a study session at my residence over the weekend." Momo suggested, earned a stunned look from her classmates.
"Seriously?! I can't wait to see your fancy digs!" Mina exclaimed excitedly.
"Oh! I must call my mom and have her prepare the great hall for us to set: it'll be the perfect spot." Momo said, even more excited.
'Great hall?' Class 1-A mentally repeats.
"What kind of tea does everyone like?" Momo questions. "I'll have her make sure we're stocked."
'That's overkill.' Class 1-A mentally thought.
"In my family, we always drink Harrods or Wedgwood, so if you have any other preference, let me know! When we're finished, you'll all be model students! I'll make it personal duty to push forward!" Momo exclaimed as her bubbly, bouncy side of her personality fully showed itself to everyone in the room.
Though, they don't know if Momo might have been humble bragging, or might not even know what she's saying. But needless to say, Momo was so excited and bubbly, they didn't even care.
"About that tea, I'm not so sure about the harry one." Denki said.
"No, it's from Harrods." Momo corrects him.
"Sounds like I should be studying with her." Eijiro told him, who's in 15th place in the midterms.
"You think I don't know enough? Maybe I should beat the lessons into your skull!" Bakugo growled angrily, but was placed in 3rd.
"I'm counting on it." Eijiro said.
"Everyone's panicking right now." Yuga states with a smug, but apparently, he's placed in 18th for the midterm. "But it won't do them any good to cram this late in the game."
"Shouldn't you be more concerned?" Shoji questions, placed in 10th for the midterm. "You didn't do very well in the midterms."
"Are you talking about, moi? I did just fine, thank you." Yuga remarked, but lying through his teeth.
"Well, you better be lucky that Ethan isn't here, but he's watching us right about now." Shoji points out, making Yuga's face pale as a sheet of paper.
At the cafeteria, Izuku and the others were sitting at the table while having some discussions about the upcoming final exams.
"I'm kinda scared about the practical." Izuku said, breaking off his chopsticks and eating his ramen. "I have no idea what it's going to be."
"Hard to believe that they'd give anything too crazy." Tenya said, sitting between Izuku and Shoto.
"The written exam questions will all be stuff from class, so..."
Izuku took a second to have a bite of his lunch.
"...I should at least be able to do those." Izuku finished his sentence.
"Do you really think it's going to be that simple?" Ochaco asks, not feeling confident, but was placed in 13th in the midterms.
"It's driving me nuts, I just want to know what they'll have us doing." Izuku said with a ponder.
"It's a comprehensive test of everything that we learned this year." Toru explains, placed in 16th for the midterms.
"Yep, but that's about all we can get Mr. Aizawa to tell us." Tsuyu points out bluntly, placed in 6th for the midterms.
"Okay, so, then it'll cover Combat Training and Rescue Training...oh, and Basic Training." Ochaco guessed in a ponder.
"We can't just study, we have to stay in great shape-UGH!"
Izuku was suddenly hit in the back of the head by someone's elbow. With a hand clenching the place he was hit, he turned around to see it was Monoma.
"Oh, sorry. Your head's so big, that it's hard to miss." Monoma said with a smug look on his face.
"You're from Class 1-B, um, Monoma right? That really hurt!" Izuku told him, rubbing his head.
"I heard you guys stumbled across the Hero Killer." Monoma said with a faux smile on his face, looking at Class 1-A with eyes filled in disgust and a need to belittle. "Just like in the Sports Festival, Class 1-A isn't happy unless they're the center of attention. But you do realize you're not in the spotlight because people think you're good Heroes, right?"
Some of Class 1-A are starting to glare at Monoma, wanted to beat him. Apparently, Monoma didn't like the idea of working with Class 1-A together in Hero Courses, but only because of the changes in U.A. High. But due to the number of incidents, U.A. High decided to get them stronger as quickly as possible which the Final Exams will play its part. Also, Ethan, his team, Sons of Batman Motorcycle Club, Azreal, and the Justice League are gonna take part of the exam, while testing them in the Practical Exam.
"It's just that you keep getting into so much trouble." Monoma continued as the insidious aura surrounded him, smiling with an unhinged grin. "Here's food for thought: Someday, the rest of us might get caught up in your mess, and then we'll become unwitting victims as well. What kind of horrible villains will you bring down upon us? What demon-"
Until, Monoma finally shuts up when Itsuka karate chopped him on the back of his neck. She grabbed onto his tray as he fell onto his knees. Setting the tray down on another table, so she could deal with Monoma.
"That's not funny, Monoma. You heard what Batman, Robin, and Deathstroke did to Stain! Chill out!" Itsuka scolded him, even though he just fell unconscious.
"Kendo?" Tenya said surprisingly.
"I apologize for him. I'm pretty sure there's a hole where his heart should be." Itsuka assures to them with a smile.
'I think he's out!' Izuku mentally exclaims with his face pale.
"How is it going with you and James?" Toru asks, earned her attention. "Are you two dating?"
"Oh, uh, yeah. We kept in touch on a phone whenever we're busy, but when we're not busy, James ask me out on a date." Itsuka told her with a blush on her face. "And sometimes, he trained me in martial arts to help me get better in combat and with my Quirk."
'No way! She's into him!' Ochaco, Mina, and Toru mentally exclaims in shock.
"But enough about us, I was listening...I know you're worried about what's going to be on the big final practical." Itsuka said, changing the subject. "I heard it's gonna be combat against robots, like the entrance exam."
This surprised the Class 1-A students, with the exception of Shoto.
"Really? How do you know that?" Izuku asked.
"One of my friends who's a few grades up filled me in." Itsuka told him, pointed to her chest with her thumb. "I know. Cheating. But, oh well."
However, Izuku began to mutter which it got the Class 1-A, except Shoto, and Itsuka annoyed as she then bonks him in the head.
"What was that for?!" Izuku exclaims, turns to her.
"I was told that you're creepy at talking, so I bonked you in order to get you to stop." Itsuka answered.
"What kind of idiot are you, Kendo?" Monoma groans, regained his consciousness and was back to his superiority complex self. "You just gave away our whole strategic advantage! This was our chance to finally pull ahead of that class full of idiots!"
Itsuka had enough as she chopped him in the back on the neck again. She then grabbed the tray and dragged him away.
"They're not the idiots! And don't even try saying my boyfriend is an idiot, he can break your bones easily otherwise!" Itsuka scolds again with a scowl, causing both Tenya and Izuku sweat dropped.
'She's like their class's big sister, huh?' Izuku mentally questions.
Meanwhile back at Class 1-A room, Izuku told everyone about what Itsuka told them at the cafeteria and it was a huge sense of relief for almost everyone.
"Alright! This'll be super easy if it's just robots!" Denki exclaims happily.
"Such awesome news!" Mina adds with a big smile.
"Why do you sound so happy?" Shoji questions with his arms folded. "You both having a hard time controlling your Quirks."
"Yeah! But I can let loose with robots!" Denki said with confidence, showing off his Quirk.
"And melting them will be a cinch for me!" Mina adds with a grin.
"Now you just need Yaoyorzu to help you study, and you'll be all set for the finals." Hanata suggested with a reassuring smile.
"We'll definitely be able to go to the training camp now!" Mina and Denki said with a cheer.
Izuku was happy to see them so excited for the finals, but it got him thinking about All-For-One. As the new host, he's going to have to battle him, someone that was the mastermind who stole the Quirks and became the Symbol of Evil. Izuku looked down at his right hand as he clenched it. If he was going to be prepared for a fight, he had to make everything count from now on. But more importantly, he has to keep in good shape and stop breaking his body like the last time back at the Sports Festival.
"It shouldn't matter if it's robots or actual people." Bakugo said, who's getting ready to leave the room. He looked over his shoulder at Mina and Denki. "Why are you morons so excited?"
"Hey, who are you calling a moron?!" Denki yelled, pointing at Bakugo.
"Shut up!" Bakugo snapped, frightening Mina and Denki. "You need to learn how to control your Quirk! You got it?!"
Bakugo turned around and glared furiously at Izuku.
"Hey! Deku!" Bakugo growled.
Izuku looked up from his hand at Bakugo. At that moment, everyone became quiet in the room. So quiet that they can hear a pin drop. Everyone stayed silent as they focused on the two rivals.
"I don't know what's going on with your power, but I saw the way you're using it now, and I want you to know...It's seriously pissing me off." Bakugo said, gritting his teeth.
"Uh-oh, he must mean how Deku was flying around the other day." Ochaco said, walking up to Mina.
"Oh, yeah, totally." Mina said with an understanding.
"I won't have another loss like the festival. We'll be getting individual scores in the upcoming finals...New rankings!" Bakugo growled, points at Izuku. "So, we'll know exactly where we're standing! I'll show you how much better I am!"
Izuku continued to look at him in a state of dread. Bakugo then turned his attention towards Shoto, angry at him for being the one who beaten him.
"And Todoroki! I'll kill you, too." Bakugo said.
Shoto didn't have a reaction as Bakugo walked out of the room, and slammed the door behind him.
"It's been a while since I've seen him that worked up." Eijiro said with an incredulous look.
"Think it's impatience? Or hatred?" Tokoyami asked.
Out of the hallway, Bakugo walked away from the classroom, and Aizawa was hiding behind a corner. He heard everything that happened inside of the classroom, and it was obvious that Bakugo's attitude was getting worse and having a talk with Jason Todd didn't work. It's something that'll need to be addressed in the finals.
After a few long days of studying and working on their Quirks. Shoto extends his training with his brother and the Nakamura twins, Itsuka extends her martial arts training with James, Bakugo has a talk with Jason Todd, and the rest of the students were doing their own in between studying and working on their Quirks.
They're now at U.A. High, the students were back in class taking the exam, which had just come to an end.
"All right, put your pencils down." Aizawa said to his students. "The last person on each row, collects the tests for me."
"Thanks so much for your help!" Mina shouted as she and Denki grinned happily, making Momo surprised and was picking up the papers.
"I didn't leave anything blank at least!" Denki chirped.
And just like that, the three days of the written exams are over. Now it's time for the Practical Exams.
All of the students between 1-A and 1-B geared up in their hero costumes and headed towards the Center Plaza. They were a little surprised to be greeted by all of the U.A. Faculty members. However, they were a bit shocked that the Bat Family, Catwoman, Delta, Red X, Azrael, Sons of Batman Motorcycle Club, Dabi, members of the Justice League, and the founders of Teen Titans were also at the front of the building.
"Look, it's Ethan and his team! What are they doing here?!" Eijiro exclaims in shock.
"And look, the Sons of Batman Motorcycle Club are back from Gotham!" Yosetsu adds shockingly.
"Because we ask them to come here." Vlad King told them. "Also, we are expecting many of you have gathered information and believe you have some ideas of what you'll be face today."
"But before we get this exam started, we should let all of you know this." Aizawa adds with a serious look. "Remember, it's possible to fail this final. If you wanna go to THE camp, then don't make any mistakes."
"Plus, this years test..."
All of a sudden, Principal Nezu popped out of Aizawa's scarf.
"...will be completely different, for various reasons."
"Principal Nezu!?" Most of the students exclaims while Mina and Denki turned white all over.
"You're changing things?" Momo asked, becoming a little nervous.
"Why?" Ibara adds.
Ibara Shiozaki is a girl of medium height with green, thorn-covered vines of hair, one set wrapped around her forehead a couple of times in the shape of the cross. She can grow them at will, but she likes to keep her vines at a reasonable manageable length: just above her waist. Her eyes are dark green with long lower eyelashes. Her hero costume consists of a plain white robe with a knee-high boots.
"The tests now have a new focus. There will be Hero work, of course, but also teamwork and combat between actual people." Principal Nezu explains, climbing down from Aizawa. "So, what does that mean for you, you students will be working together in pairs and your opponents will be one of those group of Heroes! Isn't that fabulous?!"
The students eyes widened in a completely stunned looks with disbelief.
"We're...fighting those guys?" Ochaco asked.
"Additionally, your partners have already been chosen, but your opponents will chose their own partners. It's clear that Batman have gathered his own team and Dabi did the same. Though, it's also going to be based on various factors, including fighting styles, grades, and interpersonal relationships." Aizawa explains, but held up his scarf with a smirk. "First, Yaoyarozu will be teaming with Shoto, Shiozaki, and Tokage."
Dabi then walk a few steps with a smirk of his own.
"You'll be facing against me." Dabi said. "And my group will be...Blue Beetle."
Blue Beetle approaches with a smirk, crossed his arms.
Antonio Reyes is a lean muscular young man with short black hair and blue eyes. He's wearing a Blue Beetle attire with the Blue Beetle scarab on his back.
Antonio Reyes is the son of Jaime Reyes, who's the first Blue Beetle. Antonio is an MMA fighter and a high school student from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Like his father, Antonio has the power on mind link and a bond with the Khaji Da, the scarab. Antonio have learned that his father is a member of the Teen Titans, Kord Industries, Secret Six, and the Justice League, but also learned of his death. Soon as Antonio grew older while learning how to use the power, he took up his fathers mantle and became as the new Blue Beetle.
"...Delta..." Dabi continues when Delta approaches. "And Tarantula."
It got both Shoto and Momo worried along with Ibara and Setsuna.
"Then, we have Midoriya paired with Bakugo, Kaibara, and Yanagi." Aizawa continues.
Reiko Yanagi is a pale-skinned young woman with average height. She has chin-length, pale gray hair parted on her right, which obscures the majority of the left side of her face. She has dark bags under her blue eyes, and a small mouth with full lips. Her hands are usually held up as high as her elbows with her hands draped down. Her hero costume consists of a pale purple, knee-length kimono with a white, furred collar, three dark straps around her waist, black knee-high socks, a black mask that covers her face from the bridge of her nose down.
And now that concern was multiple for himself as he and Bakugo looked at each other in disbelief.
"Your opponent will be...Batman, Red Hood, Robin, and Crimson Avenger." Aizawa adds.
Batman, Robin, Red Hood, and Crimson Avenger approaches them.
Trevor Woods is also a young man with a medium muscular appearance. He wore a long crimson trench coat with a white shirt underneath, black cargo pants, combat boots, black fingerless gloves, a crimson hat, and a crimson mask.
Trevor Woods was born in Annapolis, Maryland. His parents were law enforcers and his brother is a Petty Officer in the Navy. Trevor Woods learned from his parents in combat, law and justice, and his brother taught him in marksmanship, tactics, and extends his combat training. While Trevor grew older, he became a graduate in high school, a Pretty Officer Third Class of the Navy, and a hero known as Crimson Avenger.
"We're up against them?!" Izuku and Bakugo gasped in shock and disbelief, not expecting to fight against Batman, Robin, and Red Hood.
"You should've thought about gathering enough information earlier before jumping the gun." Red Hood points out. "But it's already too late for that, though."
"Earlier, we were having discussions with them. And apparently, Ethan and his team are against it, but they'll be putting all of you to the test, whether if either of you pass or fail." Principal Nezu explains. "Now, let the announcement of the teams and they'll be fighting in order!"

Izuku is completely shocked, but knows that Bakugo won't go very well with others which it gives them time to prepare for a strategy.
"To complete the exam, you'll have 30 minutes. In order to win, your objective is to put these handcuffs on your those individuals." Principal Nezu explains, holding a pair of cuffs. "Or you can win if one of you manages to escaped from the combat stage."
"So, we've either got to capture them or run away." Denki said while rubbing his chin. "It's basically like the combat training."
"Yeah, but is it really okay to just jet?" Mina asked, raising her hand.
"Yep." Principal Nezu answered simply, given her a thumb up.
"But don't think we're making this easy for any of you, because you'll be facing against the ones who're experienced." Dabi told them. "Your exam will be similar to a real fight."
"He's right, this test is also based on your decision making." Batman adds. "It'll be a hard choice whether you fight or flee, even if you're facing against someone who's battle-experienced."
"Which is why you'll be facing them, instead of us." Aizawa told them, smirked. "And...if any of you failed the finals, you'll be in hell with all of us in U.A. for further extension of your training."
All of the students started to wide their eyes in panic, failed to realize that the Final Exam will be a one-way ticket for training in camp. And now, they'll be up for one hell of a fight.
That's for the 30th chapter.
