Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or The Legend Of Korra
'I think l'm getting the hang of this dad stuff.' Naruto thought with a smile as he finished signing the documents for his new mailing box at the post office. It had been a suggestion that he had welcomed gladly.
Eagle hawks weren't exactly the more common form of mailing anymore from what he was told when he got a stunned reply from the electrician.
Of course he had already gotten his more important affairs in order or at least started before going off to spend time to do this.
"Here ya go Ms. Ako. Thank you for helping me out with this." The young man picked up the papers with a single hand before pushing it under the glass to the older woman with a black hair bun dressed in work robes.
Adjusting her glasses the woman glanced over the many forms quickly making Naruto wonder if she was really checking them. Perhaps she had some reading bending he didn't know about?
Food for the thought.
"It was no issue Mr. Uzumaki. It was my pleasure to help you out today. I hope you and your children enjoy your time in Republic city." She nodded indicating that everything was okay, her face still stern as Naruto exhaled gladly.
"Thank you again. Then have a good day." Naruto nodded to her getting one in return as he spun on his heel making his way out.
Walking down the steps of the building he saw his chaperone who he couldn't help but think had grown a bit on the family. Honestly it just felt like everything was moving at a pace he could finally accept. A far cry away from when they were living in a abandoned temple of an annihilated group of people of all things.
'It really has been a good couple of days. I can get used to this.'
"Hooo? Would you look at that?" Was the first thing Naruto heard as he got inside of the Sato Mobile. Something he was still a bit surprised at. Like a mini train really.
Naruto raised an eyebrow, putting on his seat belt as he saw the man's eyes looking at him in the rear view mirror.
"Lee? What do you mean-"
"I haven't quite seen you smile like that yet Mr. Uzumaki." He paused as if he couldn't believe it himself.
"Finally looking like a kid your age, without all those stressed wrinkles. In fact you had more than me! It's comforting to see you winding down in the little time I've known you. " The man finished as Naruto confirmed the admission himself.
Raising his hand he felt for his lips, along the curve and realized that yes what he said was true.
He was smiling. Without his children present as well to lighten his day which was a surprise. It was small but it was an achievement all the same for him.
Still-
"Oi oi what do you mean kid? When have you ever seen any kids with kids?"
"..."
Naruto had 3 seconds to reconsider that phrase before a slight red hue dashed his cheeks when the elder man busted into boisterous laughter, completely stripping the teen of his recently gained stoic nature.
'Ugh-' Naruto massaged his nose, annoyed with himself feeling like he was with Jiji again.
"Hehe. Well I won't prolong your pain by acting like I don't know what you meant-"
The man snickered one final time as he started the car up, the engine revving loudly.
"-but you shouldn't be in a hurry to grow up you know? I wouldn't consider half these brats running around at your age adults with the way they're acting." The man shook his head as Naruto denied it.
"I understand what you're saying but…" He didn't not truly anyway. Not anymore. It felt alien to really act like how he used to before.
"-considering I have people so important to me depending on me, I can't afford to be laid back like that. Not until I've secured everything I can for us."
It just wasn't practical nor safe. What kind of failure would he be if his kids didn't have the best they could with the power he had?
"...hmm." He heard the man making a sound of contemplation as he pulled off out of the parking lot clearly thinking on his words.
"That is true isn't it? Those kiddos definitely need a mature hand to guide them considering how mischievous they are. They'd kick up quite a fuss without you around."
Naruto scratched his head a tad embarrassed knowing his children made quite the impression on the man the past few days.
"Still, I can't say I can completely agree on that. Not in a bad way of course but…well I won't bore you too much but listen to an old man this one time yeah? I'll tell you something I wish someone told me when I was younger." Naruto dropped his hand and bobbed his head seeing the man glancing at him in the mirror.
Lee took a heft sigh as if a load weighed on him.
"Your younger years are precious, kid. So precious like you couldn't even dream. Like no one can, not a single one until it's gone. Then you can accurately realize exactly what you had. When it's gone."
Naruto glanced outside feeling a bit uncomfortable at the deep longing and melancholy in the man's tone but listened all the same.
"You don't need to do anything grand or the like but atleast make sure that when you're grown up, you could look back and say your younger years weren't a waste. Okay kid? Can you do that for me? Spicing up your life with some action."
Naruto wished he was a normal human for a split second. That way he wouldn't have heard the tightness of the wheel as the man clenched it with all his might.
Naruto exhaled from his nose.
"I can't promise anything but I'll at least try Lee."
A wiry smile rested on the blonde's face.
"Though I will say I think I've already seen enough action to last me for a long time."
'Enough to write a novel like pervy sage,' he added jokingly to himself.
Though perhaps he didn't convey his meaning well enough as the man all of sudden bellowed loudly.
"I bet you have seen a lot of action, didn't you kid?! Enough to have twins at that! Gahahah!"
Naruto closed his eyes feeling a red hue on his cheeks as the clearly perverted man ran with the misinterpretation. Though he wasn't exactly wrong-
'Ugh.'
"Hah! Now I have seen it all. A blushing Casanova." The man ended his chuckles slowly as he grinned.
"Now where to, Young Master Uzumaki?"
Naruto who was pondering his poor word choices rolled his eyes as the quirky old man went at it again.
'Did I just feel something?' Naruto glanced around as he observed his surroundings, wondering what on earth just brushed past him like a chilly wind in the middle of December.
It was faint and he wouldn't realize it if he wasn't resting himself previously but he was and he couldn't ignore it now. Not when it was clearly deliberate. He didn't have the luxury to be lazy with threats anymore.
Narrowing his eyes he only saw children and teens making their ways to their parents instead of anything truly ominous.
Turning his head slowly he made sure to keep an eye out for anything unusual as he dispelled the clone hiding on the roof like he always did at this time.
There was no need for him now that he was here.
'Ah- sorry. Again.' The teen felt a bit of pity at the clone that seemed to be going crazy little by little.
'Maybe it's time I've stopped that? I can't be paranoid for so long. It isn't healthy but-' He shook his head as he walked through the crowd ignoring the glances.
Navigating his way throughout the campus he soon arrived near his children's class. He had already long memorized the route.
"31, 32-" Turning the corner Naruto nodded seeing the other parents already there picking up their own children.
"Good afternoon." The young man spoke loudly, getting the regular strange looks and greetings as he knocked on the door.
Stepping back he watched as the door was opened about 20 seconds after and tired brown eyes met blue.
"Ah Naruto! Give me a minute. I'll get them right away." Ta'lia spoke softly, not even giving him a second before the door was quickly shut.
Closing his mouth with a loud snap having been about to greet her the blonde waited for her to come back as it was all he could do.
Zip
"Here you go. I think they're a bit tuckered out." The woman's voice was strange as she handed back the children to the blonde man having been holding them in her arms.
Naruto too felt a bit strange seeing her hold them but didn't focus on it looking at his kids snoozing. These small balls of energy were…tired?
"Is there something I need to know…?" Taking them, easily balancing their weight, Naruto glanced at her, a bit concerned.
Her black tresses shook in negative.
"No no. Just a couple of coincidences. Impossible really." She spoke as if she didn't know herself before hand waving it all away clearly not wishing to focus on it.
"Enough about that, however. We are having a field trip next week Monday. Would you like to have them participate?"
Taking out a paper from behind her she gave it to him as he took it between his fingers.
Shifting the kids constantly he finally got to read it as his eyes gained a strange light at the strange assortment of words he read.
'The Avatar Exhibit Museum? In what planet would a kid little older than a toddler want to-'
"It sounds lovely to me Ta'lia. I'll let them know when they're awake." He answered seeing the woman look down at his silence. Loathe as he was to lie, the blonde didn't quite say they'd be thrilled to go.
Her eyes lighting up, she smiled brightly at him, a sweet smile curving her lips.
"Great! It had been my idea for them to go and it felt a bit strange admittedly but I'm glad you agree it's a lovely outing for them!"
'When the heck did I say-'
Nodding Naruto stretched hjs head glancing at his watch before deciding it was time to go home.
"Well I'm sure it'll work out great. Now I need to get home and settle these guys in. Cya!"
Giving her a small wave with his less than free hand he started walking away before pausing hearing the clacking of heels follow.
'Hmm? Usually it's a simple exchange between us. I wonder why-'
"Oh and Naruto-" He glanced at the dainty hand that touched his bicep slowly before looking at her strangely.
"Would you still like for me to help you learn how to drive? I know I rejected before but-" she smiled apologetically as if hoping he didn't dig too much.
Of course Naruto hadn't taken it to heart. She had seemed genuinely troubled at the time so he let it go easily.
Still he did wish to drive himself around even if just to have the extra skill.
After considering it he nodded slowly.
"Splendid. Then how about after the field trip?"
"I should be free during that time, sure but why then? Wouldn't you be tired after dealing with these tykes?" He nodded again, adding in his mind that his mobile should be at home by then as well.
"A girl needs time to prepare, you know? Can't exactly rush these kinds of things." She chuckled and he sighed knowing she picked it up from Boruto. He had really hoped that wouldn't spread.
"That makes sense. Okay then-
Chuuu
"Mmm. Then it's a date."
Dazed blue eyes watched as the lady walked back inside the classroom with a sway finally understanding.
"Ah shi-
'Okay this is getting far too annoying.' The Uzumaki had a vein bulging on his forehead as he felt the gnat-like sensation gnawing at him again like a leech.
His kid's heads were in his lap as they were driven back home, the foliage of the recently made forest now surrounding them as he caught a glance at the spirits welcoming them back.
He didn't acknowledge them of course having no wish to be seen as a crazy person. Of course that simply meant their antics got even wilder to catch his attention but he simply tuned them out.
Back onto his little ghost. It was perhaps one of the most annoying feelings he had felt yet in this world. The constant buzzing inside his head along with the undistinguishable sound that seemed just out of his reach was enough to drive him up the bend.
The chilling sensation that constantly seemed to crawl on his neck as if someone dumped a bucket of ice down his back before removing it and repeating it again.
And again.
And again.
Massaging his forehead the Uzumaki decided to resolve it as soon as he got home just knowing it had something to do with his recently named 'Spirit Bending' or something of the spiritual nature.
Hopefully it didn't affect his children, otherwise-
Soon enough they reached the mansion without fanfare.
Getting out of the car Naruto inserted the kids under his arms like potato bags, closing the door with his foot before stepping away watching as Lee took off again waving back at the family.
Naruto watched with amusement as the man swiveled in an evasive manner wondering why the air in front of him shimmered.
Soon Naruto turned his attention downwards, his face now deadpanning.
"Can you guys stop rubbing me? You're creeping me out y'know." He watched as the peacock monkeys startled at his voice before taking off into the forest, hiding inside.
…
"I can still see you…all of you. You aren't sneaky, none of you. In fact, why are you all here at once gathered like this? Why do you look so…" Naruto pursed his lips finally feeling a tad concerned as he casted a glance towards the gathering spirits in confusion feeling the unease.
When he said all he wasn't exaggerating seeing them gather, nearly blocking out the immediate forest around him. Flying above as well looking down at him silently.
Sending him concerned eyes oozing with something akin to unease. It was hard to pin it down when it wasn't especially negative but he got the jist of it.
After observing for a bit he sighed before closing his eyes making his way towards the new gates of his home. It wasn't much but just a simple perimeter around the entire mansion at the height of 10 feet to keep some privacy.
Well more privacy than a mansion so far away already did.
Walking forward he easily transitioned into earth bending, sending the chi down to his feet intentionally as his next step opened up the gates silently yet quickly.
Pink flooded out as the wind from the stone gates made an upheaval via gust.
Naruto gazed at the new decorative Sakura Blossoms with hazy eyes and a small smile. It wasn't much but at least he could remember one friend with this huh?
Feeling a pang in his chest he shook off the bout of depression that descended.
'Shadow Clone Jutsu.'
With a poof a clone appeared far easier than it had been to summon before, approaching him and taking the key from his pocket.
Soon enough Naruto was inside the mansion as the lights turned on courtesy of his clone.
The bottom floor was just as sparse as before, Naruto not really having gotten to furnishing it unlike the more important parts of the mansion.
Luckily the mansion didn't have many electrical issues so he didn't have any hang ups on getting it cleared for no problems. Like always with money he was easily able to get help down to check in record time. It was a surprise to him when the team of 20 arrived on his door but he had welcomed it all the same.
Naruto pushed off the floor as he soared towards the stairs landing at the top before with another jump he reached the third floor.
Making sure he had a good grip on the two twins he walked down the corridor to their shared room.
It was finally time to confront this little menace.
Fooooo
Hours later the Uzumaki took a deep breath in as he slowly sat down with his feet crossed.
Feeling for the grass beneath him he opened his eyes glancing at the silent spirits watching him, their forms prone on the ground.
Worried, was what Naruto felt for the vibrant mischievous little beings to be so still, so lifeless that it obviously meant something truly horrible was happening.
'Right up my alley.' Cracking his neck loudly the Uzumaki slowly got into his mediation position.
Hands clasped together, his feet locked each other down and his back straightened like a needle.
Staying in that position for a bit he took a silent breath out.
Foooo
His spine relaxed and the Uzumaki first tested his hypothesis. He had a decent grip on the energy as it was so-
Slowly oh so slowly a golden radiance glinted in his palms. It was small and minuscule but brought a smile to his face all the same.
For it was his chi. In the most raw form he could extract. He could feel the regulation of Chi flowing through his body easily due to his past healing ventures.
He knew that most of it was stored away while more miniscule amounts flowed through the body at all times.
Except when bending occurred. Then it became a wild surge spiraling through the body in a torrent of energy.
He was no different than everyone else in this regard but the problem came up here.
The constant buzz in his ears was small and weak. So small that he couldn't even begin to pinpoint it accurately. Like a fading dream that one forgot everytime they woke.
A particularly annoying foe that could not fight him due to how weak it was, yet could still gain strength at a moment's notice to affect him subtly fluctuating in intensities.
He had a solution. One he had thought of using his battle with Nagato as a blueprint.
Naruto clasped the tiny orb in his hands before spreading it open as it accumulated more and more.
'It feels a bit playful.' He looked at it with surprise seeing the misshapen orb struggle before he gripped it properly.
Soon enough it was twice as big as his own head floating up condensing itself before at least a good portion of his chi was extracted.
He looked down at the grass beneath him seeing it being crushed under the sheer weight of its power.
Or rather it's passive aura buzzing slightly pulsing every time his heart beated.
Naruto observed it wishing he could experiment just a bit more before shaking his head resolutely.
Finally he got to the meat of the matter.
With a pulse the chakra in his body was roused like an engine. Fluctuating wildly for but one second due to its lack of proper use before stabilizing into a gentle flowing river that was needed for the next step.
Calmness. Complete calmness.
Naruto's chest stopped rising unnaturally. His eyes dilated and all activity, the little there was stopped as for a moment nature observed the anomaly.
The trees, the birds, mammals, insects, spirits all watched in daze as something beyond their senses warped in the air.
The serene forest, once vibrant and full of life, now seemed to hold its breath. As a profound shift began to take place at the very center of the event.
Ripples appeared in the very fabric of the physical plane, distorting the air and caused the leaves of the trees to flutter erratically.
The ground trembled slightly, and the animals, sensing the immense power, retreated cautiously yet stayed just as their spiritual counterparts.
Then…it stopped.
Then it began.
Then it stopped.
Began.
Stopped.
Began
Stopped.
And this pattern continued as the Uzumaki regulated the flow of natural energy and chakra. Stopping just before it began combining to make sage chakra.
For that wasn't what he wanted. No.
Today wasn't the day for Sage mode. Not now.
'I can feel it-' He stubbornly kept still even though he felt pangs of victory inside his chest.
The weight of the orb of chi-
His chi. He could describe it in so many ways and yet he knew it wasn't time for it now.
'Now. Let's continue.' Naruto finished off the process of his reverse engineering as the orb of chi slowly reduced in size and it fizzled away into golden particles.
Those particles then became beams of light as they targeted his stomach, quickly moving towards it before they disappeared completely.
Naruto knew better.
It took some time before it settled down. Understandably, it was something completely new he was trying. The two energies were not the same at all and while he was loath to treat them like such he didn't have the luxury for any other avenues.
Slowly he felt the stream regulating itself.
"This is easier than I thought. Is it because they're already coexisting inside me?" Naruto mused aloud his body relaxing as the chi circled his own chakra system following its exact path but not meeting each other.
He likened it to Yin and Yang. Two sides of the same coin. Two separate streams on the same path.
Unlike how the chi was before, a rather middling amount that flowed through him, Naruto could now feel the full immensity of it alongside his chakra.
It wasn't the perfect solution but it did the job well enough. After chi was not chakra.
"Man that feels good." He shivered, feeling the pleasure of it permeating his every cell as he regulated the flow already feeling much of it burn off from his distracted state.
He didn't know but he could feel something thin coating his body like a warm blanket.
Opening his eyes he took in the outside world for a second, very deliberately ignoring the feeling of crossing over, resisting it with all his might.
Slowly the otherworldly sight of gargantuan purple trees with fruits that looked like glowing lamps that had first greeted him left and he was back inside his own world.
'Dangerous.' Naruto pondered feeling rather complicated about the immense amount of natural energy he just felt before focusing on more important matters.
Like the many conflicting colors that drowned his sight everywhere he gazed and the many spirits he most definitely hadn't seen before gazing at him as if gaping as he stripped them from their concealment.
In fact the lights hurt so much he immediately began looking for his enemy so he could stop whatever this was he uncovered.
"There you are, you damn bastard!" The Uzumaki feeling much lighter than before located the wispy child like shape floating above a tree as he tucked in his feet before-
"I've become stronger than I've thought!" Having experience with being even stronger it took less than a second for him to right himself mid air from his over shot, gripping the wisp by its strangely humanoid…face?
'Let's see your true appearance!' He smiled savagely, feeling it wiggling trying to free itself before he channeled his own chi/chakra mixture into it, forcing it to gain form in the material world.
It was a simple deduction by the Uzumaki. He observed that the more chi spirits had the stronger they were and the more materialized they were in the physical realm.
Err…well that wasn't correct.
If that was the case he wouldn't need to try his best to combine both his chakra and chi at the same time.
No spirits seemed to be a make up of mostly spiritual energy and a smattering amount of chi so tiny that it may as well not exist.
So not knowing which one would work, Naruto simply decided to give it both! It was foolproof!
Ehehm! Well he thought so! The result remained to be seen of course.
So even if his energy didn't stay inside permanently he should be able to deal with it in that split second-
"Mpfhhf-!"
Slamming into the ground creating a crater as the sound abruptly stopped, Naruto eyebrows furrowed in bafflement.
"That sounds a lot like-!" His head snapped up sensing the approach of 2 small humanoids being led by what looked to be spirits.
'Wait- Hima and Boruto?! Why hadn't I sensed them before they- no wait! I haven't felt them the minute I-'
"Neh neh. Daddy~! What are you doing to Jin-ora and why do you look so weird?" Himawari asked, dragging her large teddy innocently as his two children came towards him without a hint of fear now changed into their night pajamas.
"Yeah Dad. You look silly. And you made noise! A lot!" Boruto squeezed Julien the little lemur as it squeaked like a rat.
Naruto, feeling his children play with his hair as they came closer could only look down in shock as he gazed at the little girl he left so far away at the temple.
"Jinora you're the annoying little mosquito?" The young man breathed out a sigh of deep confusion, getting up picking up the dainty girl so she didn't lay on the ground as he looked down at the little hand that tapped him.
"That's not very nice daddy. Bad daddy." The man who had begun healing the little girl raised an eyebrow smirking down at his daughter.
"Eh~ but she was pretty annoying though Hima. Buzzing around like a fly." Naruto frowned, realizing the strange flow of Jinora's Chi wasn't receptive to his healing as he wondered how she got here.
No wait that wasn't chi but-
"Wah really?" Boruto gasped looking up at the girl as they walked back to the mansion following behind him.
Naruto who nodded about to explain exactly how annoying it was paused.
His eyes dilated as the voice reverberated throughout the entire forest!
"You know not what you have done, blonde interloper and the consequences will be dire!"
"Get behind me now." His voice lost all traces of playfulness as he scolded himself harsly for his lack of foresight.
He didn't once contemplate not dropping the strange state he pioneered for a second before entering sage mode with naught but a breath.
His changed eyes cut across the forest watching the blue mist rush across the greenery like an angry tidal wave.
Already working towards getting out, Naruto took a massive heaving breath in before the mist rushed all at once towards his mouth like a vacuum before he-
Swoosh!
-blew it all far away, scattering the remnants into small pieces as they dissipated.
The thunderous gale blew away some of the smaller spirits as they squealed, smashing into trees being thrown around into the air.
The ground in front of him uprooted before the powerful force as Naruto kept his eyes on his foe.
….
"Dad….that was soooo coool."
"Soo cool Daddy."
He fought the smile back hearing the hushed exclamation but otherwise didn't acknowledge it as the figure draped mist made their way towards the Uzumaki family arms outstretched.
'Confrontation it is then-' Deciding on a course of action the Uzumaki formed a single hand sign.
Poof
"Take the kids back home. Jinora too. I'll deal with this and if not-?" He trailed off as the clone nodded, picking the girl out of his arms before scooping up the children.
"Weeeeeee!"
"Wah She's Soooo pretty!"
Naruto heard the naive squeals from his children as they soared away taking a circle around the conflict before making their way home.
The mist coated stranger touched down onto the ground with their bare feet, staring the Uzumaki down with deep menace as if not knowing whether to strangle him or not.
The corner of Naruto's eyes tightened.
"...I don't not quite know what I did to anger you but I would hope for a explanation for this-"
"Of course you wouldn't know. Even if it's right in front of you!" Naruto paused at the heated rebuttal trying to figure out what that meant.
Opening his mouth to question again he was beaten to it this time.
"All you had to do was keep quiet and allow nature to take its course but no! You had to pull a stunt l-like this! Is it truly so hard for you to simply be normal?! You did not even give me time to inter-"
'Give you time to do what exactly?' Naruto shifted seeing them quickly catch their words as if misspeaking.
They took in a deep breath as if they hadn't even started.
"You have made a grave mistake, you whiskered anomaly. Your first appearance already threw the world's balance through a loop with the sheer amount of potent energy you forcefully expelled with your entry! Scattering chi across the globe in proportions almost never seen! Do you think such a thing went unnoticed?! That it will not affect the world at large?!"
Naruto blinked slowly as realized this felt awfully familiar.
Was he…
Was he being scolded? When was the last time he-
"After your catastrophic actions, I had thought for a moment that you would lie under the radar, live a normal life, allow the commotion die down, for you and your children-"
"Woah lady! Hold on there! Have you been spying on me-" Alarmed Naruto tried his best to keep up but this floating lady seemed to come with an agenda in mind.
"But no! Instead you randomly decide to open another one of those in the middle of Harmonic Convergence no lesss using that strange power of yours! Exposing yourself yet again!" She hissed, her entire body exploding outwards as she flexed her whitesh aura.
Naruto's eyes dilated as the muscles in his arm flexed.
Swoosh!
Like a spring loaded and ready his entire arm rocketed towards the woman's face before it even appeared right in front of him, at speeds he didn't even know he still had in him.
Boom!
The ground behind the woman cracked and shattered as gales from the Uzumaki's fist impacted her directly.
Naruto who hastily diverted his frog kata kept his palm in front of the woman's face watching her glowing hand unbidden from his aggressive action still rise above her head.
Right after a small bird landed onto it and she brought it back down looking at it with a smile before frowning looking at him.
Naruto felt like he was having an out of body experience at this point. This was certainly the strangest thing that had happened to him yet in this world.
'She doesn't fear me? Not even a little? No hostility, no aggressiveness, she didn't even flinch. Like she already knows I wouldn't-'
Was it power or-
Realizing this woman wasn't his enemy or at least that he shouldn't treat her like it yet, he began thinking of her past actions without his protective father lens on.
As he did so the woman reached up, slapping his hand down before poking him harshly in the chest.
"Do you truly not understand what you have brought upon those poor children now? If before you could get away intact no there is no doubt those millenia old monsters sitting on their lofty perches will be interested in you now thanks to this feat! How will you defend yourself against their onslaught with this meager power you flaunt wantonly should they pursue you?! Their many powers at their disposal?!"
His eyes widened.
It was like a light switch went on in his mind as the puzzle came together.
When she first appeared she had pressed down on him with some kind of aura that he had immediately thrown off but it had never been directed towards his kids. He could tell when he had covered them as well.
She hadn't attacked him yet either, unless you counted the mist.
Nor was she displaying any negative emotions as he would have sensed them. Spirit or not.
Finally her words while they meant little to him knowledge wise-
"-and unlike the Avatar who is protected by a powerful being they all fear and respect, you are not! You are simply a human who they will think is easily controlled and-!"
-were deeply rooted in concern….
"Woah woah woah. Miss, are you worried about me and my family?" Naruto blinked, astonished, his eyebrows raised feeling like he hit the nail on the head.
….
Like a bad dream the mist that had been encroaching closer paused before fizzling in the air, along with the strange hint of moonlight that shone down onto their position.
The spirits that had been panicking running around crashing into each other looked around with relief.
Naruto however was busy watching the ongoing spectacle before him finding his amusement deepening with every second as he watched the irregularities.
Her face was as stern as it was when she came here and her back was still propped up all high and mighty yet it seemed she was completely unaware of the pretty blush that scrawled her dark cheeks highlighted by her glowing aura.
Or how her eyes seemed a tad more dizzy than before, unable to keep contact with his looking at his nose instead.
And the shifting of her hands hidden by her robe as well.
He caught it all.
He watched as she blew the hair from her face, the ornaments having been blown away by his fist.
She then glared at him.
"Whiskered menace. Bane of spirits everywhere! I have no idea what you're talking abou-"
"Mhm. I'm sure you don't." Naruto gave her a long look that channeled "You are the worst liar I have ever met and there is no competition."
She caught it and he sensed her hands clenching in her robes into fist.
Sighing deciding it was a false alarm Naruto walked forward getting the spirit/lady whatever to regain her steam.
"So you have finally decided to- wait why have you exited your battle state?! We are having a confrontation-" She froze as he laid a hand on her shoulder having deactivated his sage mode.
"Lady? I have had a long couple of months that I'm sure you know well. I have children that need my attention so if you didn't come here to fight me then don't pretend otherwise. Now if you want to talk like normal people you're welcome to come along with me. Otherwise the door is that way."
Patting her shoulder feeling the strange layer of energy Naruto made his way to his home sighing wondering what else was next after this craziness.
After a couple of seconds he rolled his eyes sensing the shift in the air behind him of his new hovering companion.
'Well at least I didn't have to beat her ass to come to an understanding.'
There was a first time for everything he guessed.
Jiiiiii
"Daddy?"
"...yes sweety?"
"Why is the pretty lady staring so much?"
Naruto who was laying down the air bender child on the couch glanced back looking at the spirit.
Vhrrrm
A streak of one way lightning sparked from her eyes as the man sweatdropped at her appearance.
Apparently his kids had thought the clear, not human, was cold when he told them she was the reason the mist had come over the forest.
Now she was wrapped in about 5 blankets completely swaddled holding a cup of piping hot cocoa not complaining once when they had done so.
And yet every time he even so much as looked at her he got this kind of unfair treatment. He had even picked up those hair ornaments of hers!
Did she even know who paid for those things she was using now?! This damn freeloader-
"I don't know. Sweetie. I don't know."
I myself have no clue whats going on.
