And now we are back to when they were still in the early days of their relationship. As well as another story about her usual lateness.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Prompt: "You look…"

"Beautiful, I know. Can we move on?"

Jacoba continued to swear under her breath as she knelt to look under her bed for her missing earring. She was now, officially, about ten minutes late for her date with Gunnar, whom she knew was waiting down in the main area of Tool's Tattoo Shop. He was probably very impatient by now, but she couldn't really be sure, since most of the team was used to her tardiness by now.

"What are you doing, Jacoba?"

Startling, Jacoba was able to just stop herself from hitting her head on the bottom of her bed. Turning slightly towards the door, she shot an unamused glance at Lacey, who was standing there, before returning to her quest to find her missing earring. She heard Lacey huff and walk over to where she was kneeling. In fact, Jacoba could almost swear that she could hear Lacey cross her arms and take up an unamused stance next to her, even though Jacoba was most definitely ignoring her.

"Are you going to answer me?"

Jacoba sighed as she kept looking. "No offense, Lace, but I am already later than I had planned to be and I really need to find this damn earring! It's one of the ones that Gunnar gave me and I really wanted to wear them tonight."

She heard Lacey begin to chuckle. "Jacoba."

"Stop laughing at me, Lace, I need to find this."

"Jacoba, look at me."

Sighing and rolling her eyes at her best friend's insistence, Jacoba turned to see Lacey holding said earring out to her. Eyes widening, Jacoba quickly got up and took the earring out of Lacey's hand. "Where did you find it?"

"On the bed. How long have you been looking for it?"

"Longer than I'd like." Jacoba sighed as she put the earring in and then turned in a circle for Lacey to see. "Well, how do I look?"

"You look…"

"Oh, you know, beautiful as usual. Can we move on?"

Both women turned towards the door to see Gunnar leaning against the door jam with an amused smile on his face. Jacoba sheepishly walked over to him, a very apologetic look on her face. "I couldn't find one of the earrings that you gave me."

"I figured. You ready to go now?" Gunnar pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead before nodding at Lacey.

"Yeah, I am. Wait. What do you mean 'you figured'?"

Gunnar rolled his eyes as he began to lead his girlfriend down the stairs. "I just know you and your wish for everything to be just perfect. So, why don't we just let this night go however it is supposed to, alright?"

"You've got a deal."
