Not the story I promised to come back with but this plot bunny came to me while I was trying to sleep and wouldn't let me sleep until I wrote it, so enjoy!
I do not own anything you recognize. Dick Wolf owns the characters, I just play with them.
Olivia hung up her phone and looked at her screen. She pulled up her messages with him and typed a quick Where are you? I need to see you. It's important. and sent it off. She started walking through the park towards the exit. It was dark and even with a gun on her hip she got the chills being here. That's when his reply came through.
I'm at the office finishing up some paperwork. You okay?
Olivia took a deep breath and hailed a taxi once she got out to Central Park West and went to his office. She took the elevator up and knocked on his office door.
He walked from his desk to the door and opened it, seeing Olivia. "Liv, come in. You look like hell."
Olivia let out a dry chuckle. "Gee, thanks Trev." She walked into his office and plopped into one of the chairs across from his desk.
Trevor closed the door and sat back at his desk. "That's not how I meant that. You look beautiful, as always."
Olivia looked up at him. "You were right," she said gently.
Trevor smiled. "Not that I don't love hearing that, especially from you. But what exactly was I right about?"
Olivia sighed. "Burton Lowe." She sunk into the chair. "He uh… he threw a glass at me as I was leaving his hotel room tonight."
Trevor raised an eyebrow. "His hotel, huh?"
Olivia rolled her eyes. "It wasn't like that… at least not tonight. We did have sex a couple nights ago, for old times sake, but I was there tonight confronting him about the accusations against him from these women… and for what he did to me."
Trevor furrowed his brow, and although he felt a jealousy rise within him, he pushed it down. "What he did do to you?"
Olivia nodded and took a deep breath. "He was my first real boyfriend, I was 16, he was 21… He was the first man I had sex with, 40 years ago. I loved him Trevor, but looking back, with all the sex crimes I have now… that was stat rape. He asked me tonight if I wanted an apology, and I said that I wanted an acknowledgment because I was so young. He told me I wasn't going to get it. When I left and the door shut I heard a glass hit the wall."
Trevor looked at her. "Liv, I'm so sorry." He got up and walked around his desk sitting next to her. "Are you okay?"
Olivia put her head in her hands. "I'll be fine, I just… I needed to talk about it, and I didn't want to go to anyone on the squad because I'm not in the mood to hear 'I told you so' tonight. And I don't want to go out, I just… I needed to see a friendly face."
Trevor gently touched her shoulder, expecting her to pull away, but she almost nuzzled into the touch. "Can I walk you home?"
Olivia smiled gently and blushed slightly. "That… that sounds very nice. Thank you, Trev."
Trevor smiled. "Let me just gather my things and we can go." With that, he put a few files in his briefcase and grabbed his jacket and they were off.
Olivia walked next to Trevor as they slowly meandered through the city towards her apartment. Olivia was on the side of the sidewalk closest to the shops and apartment, he was closest to the road. "This is nice." She smiled.
Trevor nodded. "It is. Hey, I was wondering… if you want, you don't have to, but could I maybe take you out to dinner sometime soon?"
Olivia stopped. She was taken aback. "Uh, yeah, I'd like that." She took his arm as they continued their walk back to her apartment. "This isn't a pity date because Burton threw a glass at my head is it?"
Trevor chuckled a little. "No, not a pity date. I've wanted to ask you out for some time now, I've just been… hesitant?"
Olivia smiled and looked up at him. "Why hesitant?"
Trevor shrugged. "I did used to kind of be an ass. And I did use to defend the scum of the earth."
Olivia smiled. "Yeah well, you were doing your job. And I wasn't exactly Mother Teresa to you, especially when you defended me."
Trevor nodded. "Those are fond memories I like to hold onto," he joked. "When? And where would you like to go?"
"Why don't we plan for Friday at 8, we can go to Conmigo Madison, if you like Mexican?"
Trevor smiled. "Love it."
Olivia bit her bottom lip quickly before letting it go. "It's a date." The pair walked up to Olivia's apartment building and she turned to face him. "This is me." She smiled and looked into his eyes. "I should get up to see Noah before he goes to bed. Thank you for walking me home."
Trevor smiled. "The pleasure was all mine, Olivia." He leaned in and kissed her cheek.
Olivia closed her eyes and allowed them to flutter open when he pulled away. "Goodnight," she smiled let go of him, and walked inside the apartment building, past the doorman. She turned and looked out the window once she was significantly into the building and smiled at him watching her walk away. She waved and walked to the elevators.
Once he saw her get on the elevator safely he hailed a cab and went home. He took a shower and changed into pajamas. He lay down in his bed and scrolled through the news on his phone before he opened his texts with her and sent a quick Can't wait for Friday. Have a good night.
Olivia had just entered her en-suite bathroom and turned on the shower when her phone dinged. She read Trevor's text and she smiled. Looking forward to it. Goodnight Trev.
Trevor got her text back and he smiled, putting his phone on the charger and then on his nightstand he rolled over, pulling the covers over him, and closed his eyes, quickly drifting off to sleep.
The days passed quickly, but for Trevor and Olivia, they felt like an eternity. When Friday finally arrived Olivia left work at 5, telling Fin he was in charge for the weekend. She made sure she wasn't on call that night, or at all that weekend. She needed some much-needed and deserved R and R. She drove home and walked up to see Noah. "Hi, sweet boy!" She hugged him and kissed his temple.
Noah smiled. "You're home early!"
Olivia smiled back. "I am, I'm gonna hang out with you a little tonight, then I have a date, and then all weekend I'm home with you!"
Noah grinned. "I love it when you have weekends off."
Olivia messed up his curly hair. "I do too, sweetheart." She looked at her watch. "Hey, I'm going to take a quick shower, why don't you finish your homework and we'll spend some time watching cartoons until I have to get ready. How's that sound?"
Noah nodded. "Okay, Mom."
Olivie kissed his forehead then took her shoes off and padded into her bathroom to take a shower. She washed her hair and her body, and though she knew it was likely unnecessary she shaved her legs. She liked to be prepared, and stubble wasn't something she found sexy. She rinsed her legs wrapped a smaller towel around her hair and wrapped a towel around her body. She changed into comfy clothes and then walked back out to the living room. "All done?"
Noah smiled at her. "All done!"
Olivia sat down next to him and turned the TV on to Cartoon Network. They watched cartoons until about 7 and she got up. "Okay, I need to get ready. I'll call Martha in a little bit to come over while I'm out and stay with you, okay?" While she still had Lucy for the time being, she was getting ready to move, so she used Lucy sparingly, and since Lucy had been there earlier, she didn't want to call her back. Olivia walked into her room and put on a blue maxi dress that showed just enough cleavage and a pair of booties, she did her hair and makeup and put on some perfume. She then called up Martha and asked her to come over for a little bit while she went out. Martha said, of course, she was happy Olivia was getting out. Olivia then walked back out to see Noah still watching cartoons. "Want me to make you some Mac and cheese for dinner while we wait for Martha?"
Noah nodded. "Yes please!"
Olivia smiled and made Noah some Mac and cheese for dinner, it was quick and easy. Not gourmet by any means, just a box of Kraft, but Noah liked it and she served it with microwave-steamed peas so he had a vegetable. Just as Olivia served Noah the doorbell rang, it was Martha. Olivia let her in and gave her the rundown. "We're just going out to dinner so we won't be too long. Thank you so much for coming over tonight."
Martha smiled. "Oh, Miss Olivia, you need to get out, I'm happy to help."
Olivia smiled and just as she was about to say something the doorbell rang again. She looked through the peephole and saw Trevor. She smiled and took a deep breath and opened the door. "Hi," she bit her bottom lip.
Trevor looked at her and handed her a bouquet. "Wow, you look… amazing."
Olivia accepted the flowers and smiled. "Thank you, please come in while I put these in a vase."
Trevor stepped inside. "Nice place," he said looking around.
Olivia smiled as she got out a vase and put the flowers in it with some water. "Thank you." She put the flowers on display and walked over to Noah. "I'm going out with Trevor for a little bit, you may be in bed by the time I get home, so I'm gonna say goodnight now, okay?" She saw him nod and she hugged him tight. "Okay, goodnight sweet boy," she whispered and kissed his temple. "I love you."
Noah looked up at her. "I love you too, Mom."
Olivia smiled. "Be good for Martha okay?" She walked over to the coat rack and got her coat. "Goodnight!" She slung her coat over her arm and walked out with Trevor, hearing him close the door behind them. They took the elevator down and walked out onto the street. "Thank you for the flowers, they're lovely."
Trevor nodded and smiled. "Of course."
Olivia looked at him with a furrowed brow. "Are you okay, you're kind of quiet."
Trevor let out a nervous laugh. "Sorry, I'm nervous."
Olivia looked at him. "You? Nervous? Why?"
Trevor held out his arm for her and she took it, walking at a nice pace. "I'm on a date with Olivia Benson. How could I not be nervous?"
Olivia blushed a little bit. "Trev, I'm not that special. I'm just me."
Trevor smiled. "Olivia Benson you are the single most special woman in the world. There's no other woman quite like you. You're amazing."
Olivia looked up and over at him. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Counselor."
Trevor chuckled a bit. "It's not flattery, it's the truth. Liv, like I said I've wanted to ask you out for a while now. Since Noah's adoption really, and I'm just so thrilled you're giving me a chance, I don't want to mess it up."
Olivia stopped, causing Trevor to stop. "All you need to do to not mess it up is not be an ass like you were all those years ago. And I promise not to be a bitch like I was all those years ago."
Trevor brushed her hair behind her ear. "Deal."
Olivia smiled. "Now come on, I'm hungry," she winked.
