(small note originally i wasnt gonna splice up the conversation with arcellious and kurenai going into their pasts but once i saw it was over 2000 words i decided to do so to make it easier to read)
"Grandpa we're here" Arcellious said as he and Jane walked in. "What the hell is your problem!" Rachael said, marching over to Arcellious angrily. Arcellious knew exactly why Rachael was mad at him and chose to say nothing. "What did he do" Jane asked. "Jane… dumb question" Arcellious said hinting at the duel. "Oh…" Jane said in a low tone. "You know Kurenai was on the verge of tears when she came in here? Both me and grandpa had to try very hard to convince her to not quit her job because of you. I know you're an asshole but there's already a lot of shit going on with us and the school as is. This just adding more fuel to the fire" Rachael said.
"Wait… what?" Jane said, confused. "Come here, I'll fill you in while she yells at your brother" Chancellor Sheppard said. "But-" "go!" Rachael said in an aggressive tone. Jane quickly scurried past Rachael and Arcellious seeing the rage building like a thunderstorm. "I know you don't like Kurenai and that the feeling is mutual. But we're supposed to be here for help, not tear down the walls and destroy the school Arcellious" Rachael said. Arcellious said nothing knowing that if he did anything he said would be looked at as an excuse for his actions in Rachaels eyes. "Here's what you're going to do. You Arcellious sheppard are going to go to Kurenai's office, and apologize to her for embarrassing her in front of the class and tell her what you did was wrong and tell her she needs to stay" Rachael said. Arcellious chuckled nervously at what Rachael wanted him to do. "I'm sorry did I start that with the words 'if it pleases your highness'?" Rachael said in a somewhat sarcastic tone. Arcellious saw no patience in Rachael's eyes which told him he needed to do it and do it now. Arcellious looked over at Jane and chancellor Sheppard and saw them talking in a low tone. "NOW!" Rachael yelled at the top of her lungs. As she did Jane jumped from being startled by the sudden yell and tensed up and closed her eyes. "Rachael Aurora Sheppard!" Chancellor Sheppard said in a stern voice, getting her attention.
As Rachael turned to look at the chancellor and saw Jane had her eyes closed and knew she was reliving past trauma and immediately walked over and hugged Jane tightly. "Ssh ssh ssh… it's ok… it's ok… i didn't mean to yell like that" Rachael said trying to comfort her sister. Arcellious looked and saw Jane having a panic attack and couldn't help but think back to all the times their grandmother would scold them whenever they did something wrong while Rachael was at school. Arcellious walked out and over to Kurenai's office and walked in. Arcellious heard crying coming from her bedroom and walked over and opened the door a little. Arcellious saw Kurenai with her looking at a mirror talking to her reflection. "I am not weak… i am strong… i have to be strong… I cannot lose…" Kurenai said trying to motivate herself. Kurenai saw Arcellious's reflection in the mirror and turned to look at him. "Come to relish my misery?" Kurenai said. "No… i actually came to apologize" Arcellious said in a somber tone. "May I come in more?" Arcellious asked. "No, you may not" Kurenai said. "Kurenai… i know… in the past i've always given you a hard time and have been a massive pain in your ass just like at times you were a massive pain in mine. But we've both helped each other grow. And you are in fact strong. You're a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for and you're definitely a lot stronger than I'll ever be. These kids need you. Jane needs you, Grandpa needs you-" "Cut the crap arcellious! You've wanted me gone since day one" Kurenai said.
"That… was true. I did want you gone, yes. But you also wanted me gone too. Believe it or not… you actually did save me" Arcellious said. Kurenai looked at Arcellious confused. "Yeah, because if it wasn't for you… I wouldn't be where I am today" Arcellious said. Arcellious saw Kurenai shift her eyes down to the floor. "I only did what I had to. Believe it or not… part of me is glad I did that stuff with you your last year here" Kurenai said.
