(sorry for the lengthy dialogue a lot of backstories and stuff referenced in another story is mentioned here so i do not blame you if you do not follow any of this)
Kurenai scratched her head and turned to look at her reflection. "You know… you and I were a lot alike" Kurenai said. "How do you figure?" Arcellious asked. "We were both lousy students, showed up late often, turned in assignments long after they were due. The only difference between us is you only had two friends you could hang out with whenever you wanted. I on the other hand… had a class that was like a family because of the hell we all went through but you wouldn't understand" Kurenai said. Arcellious walked in and sat on the edge of her bed hinting he wanted her to continue talking. "When I was in school and I was acting the way you did… I was bullied because I was held back a grade and was looked at by one classmate as 'a waste of space' and that I had no hope or no future. But my teacher… my sensei... he didn't see that in me. And because of him… he was able to help me right after graduation to get a job. Because I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps and help make a difference in people's lives.
My first year here was rachael's last year here. And she was so kind and compassionate I didn't want her to leave. She told me 'don't worry, my little brother will be here' and I thought you were going to be just like her. But when I first saw you walking down the school halls like you owned everything I thought to myself 'this kid is extremely entitled'. And at first when you were turning in your assignments late I thought 'ok maybe he's having a hard time and just needs help'" Kurenai said and started shaking her head. "But that wasn't the case at all. You were too busy fucking around with your friends and doing shit it just told me you weren't taking school seriously, and i ignored it. I figured you'd eventually grow out of it but you didn't. By your third year you were very popular with the after school hour radio thing you did but… you still didn't take things seriously. And on your final year here you still did not change one bit. And I knew without a shadow of a doubt if you didn't change... the world you would've eaten you alive and you would've been homeless. And that failure you would've been going through, would've been a reflection of my effort to help prepare you for the life ahead of you. And I didn't want that. I didn't want to know that I didn't do everything in my power to help prepare a student to succeed in life.
So i went to your grandfather and begged him for a week 'please let me tutor arcellious. Let me work with him to get his grades up'. And he did. Your grandfather looked at your report cards from the previous years and agreed. I did those lessons for you. because I wanted to help you… the same way my teacher helped me when I was your age. And as a result of those private tutoring lessons we did look at what you turned into. You matured enough to the point you took school and life seriously." Kurenai said and turned to look at Arcellious.
"Why exactly did you try desperately to get me expelled?" Arcellious asked. "That… was mostly because of how much you made me angry" Kurenai said. "Well… during our last duel… I used the eye and heard your thoughts. You were saying you need to be strong. Why? Why do you have to become stronger when you're already strong now?" Arcellious said. Kurenai turned to the mirror and looked at an old class photo hanging in the corner dated several years ago. "Because I went through hell… we all did… we barely managed to escape…" Kurenai said in a low tone. Arcellious furrowed his eyebrows a little confused. "I have to be strong. Because being beaten that badly and made helpless reminds me and showed me I was weak back then... I cannot be weak arcellious. I have to be strong! Strong enough to overcome any obstacle that came in my way. And if you knew the hell i had been through seven years ago… you'd understand why i need to be strong. So if that man ever tries coming here I am prepared, And i will be strong enough to defeat him. Not just for my sake, not for your grandfather's sake but for the sake of this school and everyone in it. I will be damned if I let anyone inside this school… now until the day i retire or leave… go through the hell i went through in hells high seven years ago. So that is why I have to be strong. for their sake and my own..." Kurenai said, staring at the photo and touched it for a moment.
"Do you feel better getting all this out in the open?" Arcellious asked. "Oddly enough… yes… honestly i thought it'd be rachael or your grandfather i'd be telling all this stuff to… but sometimes it's best for the people involved to hear the truth" Kurenai said and gave a small smile. "You know… it's not just computers I'm good with. If you need help with your deck I don't mind helping. For old time sakes" Arcellious offered. "You don't know six samurai's like I do" Kurenai said. "Stern used them. I learned a lot from him" arcellious said. "I'll think about it" Kurenai said and looked at Arcellious. Arcellious saw Kurenai wanted to be alone and walked out and went back to the office.
"you can come out now Ecclesia. he's gone" Kurenai said. A few moments later a girl with pure white hair and red side burns going down her jaw appeared in the mirror. "I thought he'd never leave" Ecclesia said. "there's something i need to know" Kurenai said as she stared at Ecclesia's reflection. "what is it?" Ecclesia said. "have you truly moved on from everything that happened in hells high seven years ago? or do you still hold on to the painful memories like i do?" Kurenai asked in a somber tone. "It's hard to forget what Mikado did to us... especially to Alex... honestly if i could go back in time and redo it... i definitely wouldn't have helped him knowing how things turned out" Ecclesia said sitting on the bed. Kurenai turned and looked at the bed and saw the bed dented where Ecclesia was sitting in the mirror and saw nothing was there. "Do you regret making your deal and becoming a ghost?" Kurenai asked. "sometimes... but... it's not something i can take back... i do know you guys did everything you could to try and talk me out of the deal and to end it and stay human. i just didn't know i couldn't back out of the deal without losing myself to the void when i made it" Ecclesia said. "that's why you kept going wasn't it? because you couldn't back out?" Kurenai said. Ecclesia nodded in response. "i need to get some rest" Kurenai said standing up. As she did she saw the bed dent move and heard footsteps go to the wall. "you know how to find me" Ecclesia said and walked out of the room.
