Me: hey there, my fellow Yugioh fans
Now, as you know, I'm going to completely rewrite this story as I can't remember the previous ideas I had for the squeal to this story.
The ages: Yami, Seto and Kisara are 16; Yugi, Joey, Tristan, and Tea are 15; Jaden is 7; Mokuba is 11; lastly, Mana is 14.
Yes, I'm adding Jaden in this story, but no Yubel.
Yami wouldn't get that punished, but only when he protects Jaden. You'll see why Jaden is with the gang.
Well, I think that's all. If you guys have any ideas throughout the story, please feel free to PM me and I might put it in the story.
Well then, I think that's about it so – enjoy the new version of Save Me Brother and I hope you will enjoy it like the previous one.
Right, I don't own Yugioh, but if I did, I would have allowed Yami to stay with Yugi as I see them like brothers. Enjoy!
Chapter 1
A small, five-year-old boy with tri-color hair was running around with other boy like him, but a bit older. Both were at the park, playing, however, the sky turned dark, and the small child was getting scared and wanted to leave. He was about to tell the other boy, but when he turned around, he was gone.
"… Brother… Brother, where – BROTHER, WHERE ARE YOU?"
That's when Yugi opened his eyes, waking up sweating and panting. He took a few deep breaths before covering his face with the covers.
For nearly ten years, Yugi has been waking up from nightmares which was the day when he lost his older brother and sometimes his screams would wake up his family.
Even though they were living in a mansion.
Yes, he and his grandfather were living with his cousins.
Seto and Mokuba were adopted by the president of KaibaCorp, Gozaburo Kaiba when their parents died in an accident. When Senior Kaiba died, Seto took over the company at such a young age.
It was then that Seto allowed his family to life in the mansion.
Yugi sighed before looking over at the clock which read, 5:55 am.
The small teen sighed, heavily before getting up and changed into his uniform. He walked around the mansion as he didn't want to go back to sleep, fearing that he would have the nightmare again.
Yugi walked into the kitchen and saw his older cousin, Seto was typing in his laptop while on the side, was his breakfast.
"Morning," greeted Yugi, softly.
Seto looked up and saw his small cousin at the doorway. He frowned a bit, "Morning. A bit early to get up for school."
Yugi sighed, "… I… I had that nightmare… again…"
"…I see," murmured Seto. He watched his cousin getting some cereal when he got an idea that might cheer him up a bit. "Yugi?"
"Mm," said Yugi, softly.
"Do you want to visit his grave today?" Seto asked, calmly.
"What about school?" Yugi asked.
"I'll notify the school that you're not feeling well," replied Seto.
Yugi looked down at his breakfast before agreeing to go.
"… Do… Do you want to talk about it?" Seto asked.
Yugi sighed, "It's no different than the last few hundreds of nightmares I had… I hate reliving that day…"
Seto sighed, sadly before recalling the day he lost someone important.
Almost ten years ago, there was a storm where Yugi's older brother went missing, and their father died while trying to find him.
When the storm was over, they found Mr. Muto dead and Yugi's brother was nowhere to be found. However, looking at Mr. Muto's injuries, it looked like it wasn't related to the storm.
A search party was sent out.
It was a long week, but none of the officers could find his cousin.
His aunt and Yugi were hit the most.
Mrs. Muto was sobbing nonstop as she wouldn't be seeing her husband and oldest son anymore. As for Yugi, who was a year younger, barely understood anything was what was going on, but what he could understand was that he wouldn't be able to see his brother again.
Young Yugi would wake up from a nightmare and would sob as he would relive the day his brother went missing…or died.
"We will leave when it's seven," said Seto.
Meanwhile, far from the town of Sapporo, in a warehouse, a teen with tri-color hair was on the floor and his body was covered in bruises. A few were light while others were dark, and his back had a few scars.
"That will teach you a lesson brat. Next time, pay attention!"
The teen waited until the man left and let out a sigh of relief.
That's when a young child with brown hair but the top of his head was lighter and has brown eyes, went over to the fallen teen.
"Yami… are you okay?"
Yami chuckled before wincing a bit, "I'm… fine. This… This is nothing compare what he does if he gets furious… are you alright, Jaden?"
The young brunette nodded, "Y-Yea…"
Yami smiled a bit, recalling the day when the brunette came to the warehouse. His father's men went to a kill spare where they killed off a few bystanders and kidnapped a couple of kids including Jaden.
His father has plans to train the kidnapped children, but if they misbehaved, they would get punished heavily to the point that they would die from their injuries.
Today, however, they planned to invade a house and steal anything worth selling and killed the couple that was living there. But their escape didn't work out how it should be.
Jaden and Yami were on the lookout but failed to identify a few disguised cop cars and the police swam into the house. Yami, not wanting to kill, threw a smoke bomb with sleeping powder.
The officers coughed from the smoke before all of them dropped down to the ground, asleep.
His father's men were able to get away and make it back to the warehouse with a few stolen goods. However, one of the men grabbed Jaden's arm and throw him to a room and was about to give his punishment when Yami stopped him.
The tri-color hair teen convinced the man that he was his fault for not identify the cop cars.
The man grabbed the brunette and throw him to a corner.
Jaden watched the man whipping Yami's back and kicking him on his arms and legs. After a few minutes, he stopped and left the room, locking the door behind him.
Yami took a deep breath and slowly, but painfully, got up and walked over to a worn-out bed. He sat down, ignoring the pain and laid down.
"Go and get some towels Jaden."
The brunette nodded before dashing to the bathroom and grabbed a few worn-out towels. He went back to the older teen and helped him clean his wounds.
"Do… Do you think that your father will…" Jaden stopped and bit his lower lip.
Yami sighed, "Most likely. His punishments are way brutal than his men dish out."
Jaden looked at him with a worried look on his face.
Yami smiled forcefully, "Don't worry, Jay. I'll be fine."
Jaden stared at him before nodding, slowly.
"Come on, it's getting late," Yami pointed to a bed that was next to his, "Bed. We need to get some rest for tomorrow."
Jaden sighed before going to his bed and within a few minutes, the young brunette fell asleep.
Yami watched the young child before taking out a duel monster card pendant. He opened it and inside there were four young children in a picture.
On the right was a child that looked like him but younger and below him was a young child with the same tri-color hair as him, but his eyes were much softer than his.
Next to his doppelbanger was a child with brown hair and blue eyes and below him was another young child with a bit long black hair and grayish-purple eyes.
Yami sighed, "…who am I?"
Staring at the picture for a while before hiding the pendant beneath his shirt. He stared at the only window with bars and stared at the night sky before falling asleep.
Meanwhile, the Muto's and Kaiba's were returning home when Yugi spotted his friends waiting for him by the entrance. The young Muto got out of the limo, "Hey guys, why are you all here?"
"Just stopping by to give you your homework," said Tea.
"And what's the deal for you not going to school, man?" Joey asked.
"Yea, you don't look sick or anything," Tristan pointed out.
Yugi sighed, "Let's go to my room and I'll tell you there."
"We'll let you know when dinner is ready," said his grandfather.
"With the mangy mutt here and his lackey, I need to warn the cooks," said Seto.
"Hey! Watch it, Kaiba!" Joey snapped.
"And with that we'll be going to my room. Let's go guys," said Yugi.
Tea followed him while Tristan dragged Joey away from Seto before it gets ugly. Once in his room, Tristan let go of Joey before the four took a sit on the couches.
"You know that he was egging you, right?" Tristan said.
"So, what! I never back down from him," Joey snapped.
Tristan sighed, "You and Kaiba have been in each other's throats since we were kids. When are the two of you going to let it go already?"
"Until he stops being a jerk!" Joey said.
Tea sighed, "So, why didn't you go to school, Yugi?"
Yugi looked down at his hands, "…I had that nightmare again…"
Tea, Joey and Tristan looked at their friend with sadness in their eyes.
"…it's going to be 11 years since he disappeared… and the nightmares… have been getting more recent each night," explained Yugi.
"So, you visit his grave today then," stated Joey.
Yugi nodded, "…you know, I don't know why, but somewhere in heart tells me that he's still out there…looking for me…"
"Yugi," murmured Tea.
"Maybe that's why I'm getting these nightmares. It's telling me that my brother is out there…somewhere," said Yugi.
That's when Joey snapped his fingers, "Hey, if that's true than that means that you and your brother have some sort of psychic powers or something."
Tristan and Tea looked at their friend before Tristan started to laugh at Joey's idea.
"Oh man, yea, right? Yugi and his brother having psychic powers," said Tristan before making a face, "You really need to stop watching those paranormal shows, man."
Joey grabbed his friend's shirt, "Hey, it can be true. I mean their birthday is on the same day, a year apart but still!"
While the two were arguing, Yugi was thinking about Joey's crazy idea.
'Could that be it? Could my nightmares be telling me that he…'
That's when they heard a knock on the door and came in was a maid. She smiled, "Young masters, dinner is ready."
"Thanks Mary," said Yugi as the maid bowed before leaving.
"Come on, let's get something to eat before dumb and dumber die from hunger," teased Tea.
"Hey!"
Yugi laughed a bit before the four headed to the diner room.
As they were walking, Tea looked over at Yugi.
"Hey, Yugi."
"Yea, Tea?"
"If for some odd reason that Joey is right, the next time you get that nightmare, pay attention. It might give you some clues about your brother."
Yugi thought for a moment before nodding.
"Then I need to pay attention tonight. I just hope I can find anything in those dreams."
Tea smiled, "I know you will."
Yugi let out a small smile as the two entered the diner room to see Joey and Seto arguing again.
