Family Feud: Can Harmony Prevail in the Chaos?
Ch VI: Loud vs. Quiet: A Clash of Personalities
Quote of the Day: "He shows a failing in that superb courage which impels action because it is right, even at the cost of self-sacrifice. His greatest fear is not to do wrong, but of being caught doing wrong." - Former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon
Robert was still fuming as he passed by the Loud residence, ever since that day, he gave Lincoln's family the stink-eye. Whenever he saw Lily, he would just storm off away from her. It was different with Michael, he always adored Lincoln's youngest sister, her blue eyes looked exactly like his father, he also had his mother's skin tone.
Stephanie didn't know why Robert would seem so cross everytime he saw the youngest member of the Loud family. After all, she was just a cute little baby after all. The teenager held the baby of the Loud clan in her arms, pinching her cheeks a bit.
Lincoln also knew Robert would be very angry with his sisters and parents when they hurt him, it's like the older lad would take him under his care and turn him into his new brother or something.
With Lincoln in the hospital…
Being confined in a hospital bed sucked for the poor little man. It would be very nice reading comics in his underwear once again, but since he had serious injuries, he had to sit in the hospital for some time. He slumped down on his bed in boredom, as he watched the TV. Nothing interesting was on, it was just some rerun of Tom and Jerry.
Later, the door opened, and it showed Henry and his family at the door. Sammy, not containing his excitement, runs into the hospital room, when Charlotte lifted him up in her arms.
"Sammy, don't just run off like that, you might've gotten hurt…" Charlotte said.
"Hey, Lincoln, look what I brought for you." Henry said as he smiled while holding up a bag, which contained some of Lincoln's comics.
"Hey, thanks, Mr. Emily!" Lincoln said, grateful, as he grabbed his comics and started reading.
Charlotte was still glad Lincoln was still the same old comic geek he was.
Valerie took Sammy from Charlotte, and put him in a chair near Lincoln's hospital bed. Later, a surprise visitor came through the door. Cassidy covered her mouth in shock and sadness, as she saw her own best friend in bandages, his leg was bandaged, hanging upwards.
Cassidy ran to him, wrapping her arms around Lincoln tight. Louise came in, along with her younger brother, Simon.
"Geez, Cassidy's been an emotional mess since she got into that fight with Lincoln's athlete of a sister." Simon said, concerned.
"They're close friends…" Henry said.
"Close friends?" Simon said, confused.
"They've been the closest friends since we set foot here in R.W." Louise explained. "They met each other while we were unpacking our stuff."
"Oh…" The younger boy said, convinced.
At the Loud residence…
Lori looked at a photo of her and Lincoln while they were holding each other's shoulders. That was taken a few days before Julius's death. She smiled weakly, chuckling as tears flowed down her cheeks.
Her weak chuckles turned into sobs, crying into her shirt which covered her wrists. Rita, acknowledging her daughter's turmoil, goes into her room and pokes her shoulder.
"M-Mom?" Lori said, her voice choked in tears. "I-I thought you were cross with me and my sisters…ever since that—"
Rita interrupted her, hugging Lori tight. "No…I'm not cross with you or any of my daughters, we're just disappointed..." She soothed the crying teenager. "Shh…it's OK, let it all out…"
Lori cried into Rita's arms, while Lynn Sr. watched as she cried. Lynn Sr. sighed deeply, and turned his eyes to look at Luna, who was looking like a husk of her former rockstar personality.
With Michael and his friends…
"Ugh…" Robert said. "Them? Lincoln's dunces for parents and sisters?"
"I don't understand why you're always sooo cross with Lily." Stephanie said, holding Lily in her arms. "She didn't do harm to Lincoln, it was her nine bird-brains for sisters…"
"Yeah…" Elijah said.
"Hand Lily to me, Stephanie." Michael said as Stephanie handed Lily to him. "Well, she has blue eyes just like Father, and she has fair skin just like Mother."
Later, at Freddy Fazbear's…
William went into his office, and dialed Lynn Sr.'s phone. He held the handset near his ear, as the dial tone sounded.
A few minutes later, Lynn Sr. came into the line. "This is Lynn Loud Sr. on the phone, who's this?"
"It's me, William Afton, and I'm here to talk about something…" William responded, his tone being serious and grim.
"Why? What is it?" The Loud patriarch asked confused.
"When Henry said that you weren't quick to step in when your daughters were fighting, is that true?"
"Well…" He cleared his throat. "As a matter-of-fact, Rita and I were quick to step in when our children were fighting over a mere quarter…but that one time, they fought over a dress, and the others (minus Lily and Lincoln) got involved, we just hid in our bedroom like cowards…just like Henry said."
This made William yell. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
Lynn Sr. pulled the handset away from his ear.
"WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK DID YOU THINK THAT IT'S OK TO NOT DEAL WITH YOUR DAUGHTERS' CONFLICT?! THEIR PROTOCOL WAS JUST A PILE OF FLAWED THINKING COMBINED WITH STUPIDITY!" William shouted, making Lynn Sr. flinch. "THIS IS EVEN WORSE THAN THE 'BAD LUCK' FIASCO, WHERE YOU KICKED YOUR OWN SON OUT OF THE HOUSE!"
"I can explain…" Lynn Sr. said.
"EXPLAIN." William ordered, his anger rising.
"Well, ahem…it all started on a peaceful Friday evening, when Lori bought a dress from the mall and showed it to the rest of her siblings, Leni comes in with the absolutely same dress…and they started fighting, they then bring up a sibling meeting, and decided to implement the Sister Fight Protocol. They decided to block off the kitchen and bathroom, and when Lincoln was reaching for the remote, Junior, along with her other sisters, beat him up."
"And?"
"They, ahem, uh…told him that him watching a Monster Truck Rally is not going to help Lori and Lent. That night, we dined separately with our two first daughters, so as to avoid unintentional rivalry…"
"That is outright stupid, dining separately, because 2 of your daughters are at conflict?" The co-owner of Fazbear Entertainment said, unfazed. "Oh, please, if I were you, I would punish them and force them to be together until they learn to get along."
"Um, sir?" The security guard, Joseph Brown, asked. "Is there something wrong?"
"No, no, everything is absolutely fine, Joseph." William said.
"Alright, if you say so…" He left.
"Now, back to our conversation, what were you talking about when you said you and Rita dined separately with Lori and Leni?"
"We were dining separately with our two first daughters, to not cause any unintentional rivalry. Later that night, Lincoln was fed up of his two older sisters' fighting, they tell him why, and he told them that he and Clyde wore the same shirt on picture day. He then goes to resolve the problem, when Lynn told him that he should butt out, and he revealed what Lori said about Leni behind her back, and what Leni said about Lori behind her back. This causes them to fight, and later on, Lincoln's room was used to house either Lori or Leni." Lynn Sr. explained.
William shook in irritation. "Tomorrow, I'm going to set foot in your house, and give your daughters an earful. Understand me?"
"Y-Yes, Will…" Lynn Sr. said, fearfully.
William slammed the phone back in its receiver.
The next day…
Lincoln was in his hospital bed, lying down while reading his comics. He felt the urge to pee, so Olivia helped him go to the bathroom in the third floor. Good thing, the hospital has a bathroom for each floor. Lincoln lied back down on his bed, and opened his comic.
The sound of cars whooshing down the road were heard outside of Royal Woods General, not even minutes later, the boy heard the telephone ringing beside his bedside table. It kept ringing and ringing, until he answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, son…" Lynn Sr. said, his tone distraught.
"Dad? What happened?" Lincoln asked.
Suddenly, a booming voice was heard behind the line.
"WHAT WAS THAT?" Lincoln said.
"That's…that's William…" Lynn Sr. said. "He's giving your sisters an earful (except Lily)."
At the Loud residence…
"You're supposed to look after your siblings, Lori, but you're even too occupied with Roberto to even care!" William said, lecturing Lori.
Lori opened her mouth to make a counter-argument, but closed it.
"You, Leni, I thought you were one of the nicest sisters among the ten, but seems like I was wrong."
William pointed at the girls (except Lily). "You dunces laughed at Lincoln's costume, and then you frame HIM for clogging the loo. If you were wondering how I knew about it, I heard you guys from our window." He said with a cross tone. "You were quick at pointing a finger at him, he DIDN'T clog the loo. It was Lucy, with her stupid book thrown down the pipes."
Lucy hung her head down in shame.
"Why do you laugh at 2 of your siblings? Is it because they don't have the SAME interests as you all? Or is it because their hobbies don't sit in well with yours?"
The silence was his answer.
"See? Told 'ya so…" William said. "Your two sisters won't shut up about the dress…" He looked at his watch. "Henry must be calling me at work now…you better change your habits or you'll face a more serious punishment."
William walked away. The girls looked at each other, with looks saying, 'We have to do something.'
Lynn Sr. and Rita looked at each other, with somber looks on their faces. Never has Lynn Sr. felt any sympathy for his daughters, he's always been cross with them ever since Lincoln was admitted to the hospital.
To be continued in Ch VII…
A/N: Sorry that chapter six took so long to write, procrastination is getting on my way, and the final exam is coming up on first week of May so I'd have to hit the books. I go to That-Engineer's DA user profile for inspiration just by looking at his gallery. Now that William has given the girls an earful, they have been working to get Lincoln to think that they are his allies.
BTW, I mentioned Sleuth or Consequences in this chapter, seeing that episode made me want Lincoln to grow a pair and stand up for himself. I read an FF based on that episode, but I don't remember the title, or when did I read it. I also had a shortened name for this story, Family Feud, so you know that when I say it, I am referring to the story itself.
That's all I can tell you, and goodbye. Enjoy reading! :)
