A Japanese Weresheep in Mutsuba Town

Pairing: Developing Yuhi x Chupataro.

Summary:

There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.

Chapter 123: Mama's Turn

"That's…surprisingly logical. Defeating me is another matter. Dark Meister."

"Chupataro!"

"GO RUSH!"

"GO RUSH, CHUPA!"

"It's Mama's turn. Mama's turn~!" Bruyea celebrated.

"My turn. I draw. I set two monsters in shadow."

Face-down? Why, chupa?

"I send a card from my hand to the Graveyard. Dark Matter Parallel Pod, activate. I send the top three cards from my Deck to the Graveyard, and add two monsters with the same Level among them to my hand. And since I have two shadowed monsters on the field, I also draw one card."

"Ch!"

"I release two to Advance Summon! Darkness that closes in. Pressure that closes in. Come forth! Dark Matter Pressure Wurm!"

Dark Matter Pressure Wurm (Level 7 DARK Galaxy/Effect ATK 2400 DEF 1300)

"I summon Dark Matter Masca."

Dark Matter Masca (Level 2 DARK Galaxy/Effect ATK 0 DEF 1300)

"By sending Dark Matter Masca itself to the Graveyard, its effect activates. I Special Summon Dark Matter Power Lizard from my Graveyard, and if I control another monster with 1300 DEF, I draw a card."

Dark Matter Power Lizard (Level 4 DARK Galaxy/Effect ATK 1300 DEF 1300)

Yuamu simply let Chupataro see the Fusion card in her hand, and swiped Pressure Wurm and Power Lizard off her Monster Zones as materials.

They fused.

"How is a tyrant formed? Wasn't that your road before? I take it away from you and become the tyrant in your stead. It's no use saying anything. Fusion Summon, Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon!"

Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon (Level 8 DARK Fusion/Galaxy/Effect ATK 2900 DEF 2500)

"Mama's new Dark Mama Fusion!"

"Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon. Respect. Dark Meister," Sabyuas put succinctly.

"I set a monster in shadow, and Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon's continuous effect begins applying."

Tyrant Dragon spread its wings and showed its teeth.

"Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon's continuous effect. Is to stop destruction by all Trap effects when I control a shadowed monster."

"Trap protection, chupa?"

"And if I set another monster in shadow, Dark Matter Tyrant Dragon's effect will grow stronger. With one more shadowed monster, Tyrant Dragon will be able to attack twice each turn."

"Twice? Then…during Yuamu's next turn…"

"IMMUNITY FROM TRAP DESTRUCTION AND DOUBLE ATTACKS! OSU!" Zeyet cheered over Yuhi's dread.

"I set a card. Turn end."

A rogue wind blew across the field.

"Yuamu…Are you really okay with this, chupa?"

"With what, Chupataro?"

"Are you really okay using Resurrection of the Dead to erase your own memories, chupa? Do you really want to sacrifice yourself, cabra?"

"I am. Putting himself last is what Ohdo Yuga would do."

Yuhi tightened his fist.

"Yuga was all by himself. There was nobody who'd stand in his corner."

"He stood in the way of the Velgearians being revived!"

"To stop Resurrection of the Dead from being created!"

The twins cooled their jets.

Yuga tried, and look at the mess they were in.

Resurrection of the Dead was completed (these series' Super Fusion, as Kuaidul would advertise).

Yuhi activated it. They saw Yuga's memories, and Yuamu was more convinced than ever of it stirring within her. Her Otes.

"Yuga, he…As the father of Rush Duels, he felt the responsibility was his. For the children of the future, he was even prepared to become what he hated."

"And so you take his place?"

"I'm his ancestor. I wanted to lighten the load. No one else would."

"That doesn't make it o –!"

"If you couldn't see Chupataro anymore, Yuhi, what would you do? Can you imagine the pain Yuga was in? He came back, and was alone. How could he go through that? Repeat time and again he couldn't see his friends."

"If you acquire Resurrection of the Dead, isn't that what'll happen? Tazaki-san and the others. Me. You'll never see us again."

The unsaid subtext was that he didn't have to imagine. Losing his sister and losing Chupataro were essentially one to one.

"Yeah, you're right. That's why they're in the way. My memories…"

"Yuamu, someone will put a stop to this. One of us is gonna stop you, same as we stopped Yuga!"

"Yuga made the game. That doesn't mean he was the best at it. He kept bumping into walls, didn't he? Walls that were a challenge to carve through, even for him."

His time in their time, losing to Phaser and Yuhi, did his duelling record no favours.

"Unlike Yuga, I have the power to make the future happen as it should. I will do whatever it takes. That's my resolve. That's my road!"

"Have you changed that much, chupa?"

Yuamu paused. Like this was a question she'd long thought about. It wasn't just the one month in Dark Matter Space. She'd been thinking about this since before that.

"Mama?" Bruyea became concerned for his mommy.

"People change, don't they?" she answered dolefully. "They're allowed to change."

Her brother and de facto brother-in-law listened.

"It was less than a month, but I got a taste of what it was like to be alone in the universe."

"Chupa understands, chupa."

"No. You and I are different cases."

"Chupa?"

"Are you really okay with this?" Yuamu threw the question back at him. "Have you changed that much? No…Sorry. That's the difference between you an me."

Chupataro didn't understand.

"After all…You haven't changed at all."

Chupataro blanked.

"What're you talkin' 'bout, Yuamu? Chupataro is a totally different person from when we met!"

"He isn't a 'person' in the first place. Right, Chupataro?"

There was an element of play at play. A dark playfulness in Yuamu's mannerisms. To be told by the twin of the boy who first insulted him as such…Yes. Yuamu had truly gone dark.

"Chupataro! Snap out of it!"

"Y-Yuhi?"

"You've changed lots! You're in this Duel so I don't hafta be, aren't ya? The old you would've never done that for me!"

He's right…Chupa wouldn't have. Chupa changed because of Yuhi, cabra! Chupataro slapped both his cheeks to wake himself up, and stared down the Dark Meister with renewed purpose.

"Looks like you still want to go. Let's continue the Duel."

"Sa. The Rush Duel. Resumes."
