Been a while since I talked with you guys! So how'd did you like the weekly chapters?
Originally, in the volume version of my script, this Lovers' Mansion part wasn't an arc, just the first half of volume 6.
But, thanks to posting things weekly, I was able to write chapters I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to. I hope you guys liked it as well. Though I have been keeping an eye on the reviews, so from the next arc forward I'll make sure I don't waste so much time with unimportant chapters.
Let's see what I have to comment on…
The prologue for this arc is based on the final scene of the LN. I also wanted to use it to show what people can expect to read in this part. Sure, there is a story going on, but in the end it's an ecchi story with lots of smut. The focus of this part is supposed to be clear from the start.
After that was a bit of general setup for the start and then we went to Miyabi, Rebecca and Maki. I wanted to write Miyabi's first sex with Yuuto and also bring back Rebecca and Maki from volume 2 of part 1. To do that, I inspired myself on sexual stories with nobles and their helpers.
Like I said before, in the volume version of my script, I saw that I wasn't going to have time for Rebecca and Maki, that's why I kinda just left them after volume 2. But, since I had time now with the weekly chapters, I figured I'd give them another chance.
From there, there were a lot of chapters with only small pieces of plot mixed in, like the visit to Seigi and Rikimaru, or going to the Devil World. In my head, I thought it would be fine to "waste" some chapters just by sprinkling a little bit of plot on them. But, as I said before, I'll keep everyone's reviews in mind for the next arc.
The next big plot part was when Lizel showed Yuuto to Lovers' Mansion, and after that he got Rinne as a Card. Oh, and how could I forget, he also got the limitless stamina of a hentai protagonist.
I don't know if you guys noticed, but ever since part 1 I tried to point out how Yuuto was just human, how it was hard for him to deal with all the girls and just keep going indefinitely. That was all so that it becomes one less problem to worry about now.
Then, there was another bunch of generally unimportant chapters with only small bits of plot mixed in. Yes, again. I'll make sure I don't repeat this as much for the next arcs.
The next time we'd actually get a fairly plot-focused chapter would be when Yuuto and Hime (Empress' Candidate) talk. It's generally stuff that will be important for future arcs, but that's also where Yuuto began to prepare to fight against Hierophant… although, was he the one responsible for Yuuto's out of character moment there?
And then… another bunch of chapters that don't really move the plot forward. I should probably tell you guys now that I'm actually ahead on the chapters by 2 months, that's why I wasn't able to immediately reflect the reviews onto the chapters. Again, I plan to take it all into consideration for the next arc.
That said, if I had to highlight 2 chapters from this bunch, it would be the ones where Yuuto has sex with Miyako and Rumi, and also the teacher chapter.
Not much to say about the moms chapter. I look forward to doing oyakodon chapters, and maybe even a double oyakodon one. The only thing I'd like you guys to tell me is: would you guys prefer one looong chapter, or a bunch of short chapters that I would post the same day? You guys can also tell me what you think about fight chapters as well as lemon chapters.
As for the teacher one, it's actually quite interesting. I didn't really plan much for her at first, she was just going to be Yuuto's teacher in Ginsei Academy, but she ended up being unexpectedly popular in part 1. So, when I decided to do weekly chapters, much like how I decided to bring back Maki and Rebecca, I decided I'd do something with the teacher. Hey, if she keeps her popularity, maybe she'll come back in another arc.
And finally, after all that, the main plot of this arc, Yuuto's Party. The general idea of this bit didn't change much from my original plan. The title of "Devil King Academy's Rebel" finally makes some semblance of sense here. After everything he's been through, Yuuto decided that the best way to fix devil society is to break it and build a new one.
I didn't really know what to do for the epilogue. At first, I was just going to parallel the prologue, but then I got the idea that maybe Yuuto would be a bit nervous after what he did. And so the chapter I posted together with this note came into being.
And that's basically it for this arc. Again, let me know what you all thought of it (both with the individual chapters and as a whole) and what you'd like to see in the story as well (both in terms of lewd scenes as well as general story). I already have the story planned out, but I can make room for some things if you guys want to see.
And I repeat, I'll make sure to tone down the unimportant stuff next arc. There is some stuff I'll try "experimenting" with, but I don't think you guys will dislike it.
