Chapter Two
"Alright! Dinner time. Hope you guys enjoy!"
Both Dojima and Nanako had their eyes wide open once the food entered their mouths.
"So~" Naruto grinned with a few pieces of food stuck to his apron. "How do you like my cooking?"
Dojima finally snapped out of it while Nanako moved her spoon even faster.
"I'm surprised." Dojima spoke as Naruto grabbed a few tiny sliced up pieces of steak and some vegetables. "I mean, I lent you my kitchen to use, but I wasn't expecting the food to taste this good."
"No problem, Old Man." Naruto chuckled as he tasted his own food. His tongue rolled as he chewed while stuffing his cheeks with broccoli as well. "It's the least I can do. I mean, with you allowing me to stay here and all."
Dojima gave a small smile before setting down his plate. He looked over at Nanako who was enjoying the food and chuckled.
"Still, I thought the day would be the same as usual then out of nowhere my sister who I haven't spoken to for a few years called up?" Dojima picked up his spoon. "I'm surprised, but with the line of work Kushina is in I could see why she wouldn't be home, but what about Minato?"
Naruto froze up, his smile a bit hesitant, "He's… busy with his other job." he bent his head down and ate his food silently.
"Is he though, hm." Dojima had his eyes on the television, but if his eyes were on Naruto for a split second, he would have been slightly surprised by the sight of him clenching his fists and teeth.
"Well…" Dojima turned to Naruto.
The blond quickly forced out a smile.
"It's just me and Nanako here so it'll be nice having someone like you around. So long as you're here, you are part of the family, so make yourself at home. I already gave you a tour around the place, and don't be afraid of getting into the fridge. I'll be stocking up on groceries soon anyway."
Naruto mumbled something.
"Hm," Dojima raised an eyebrow, "What's that?"
"I said, thanks uncle. It really means a lot."
"No problem," Dojima nodded, "That's what family is for anyway."
The two stared at each for quite a bit with a smile.
"You know if you keep looking at me in that way…" Naruto looked to the side, cupping his cheeks like a shy schoolgirl, "I'm afraid I might have to lock my door while I sleep."
"Oh. Ha ha. Very fun." Dojima snorted, "Just finish eating your food. And don't forget you have school tomorr-"
Pipipipi
Nanako removed her gaze from the tv. Her expression turned a bit sad.
She placed down her food, "You have to pick it up, right? Since it's for work."
Dojima looked a bit guilty, reaching out to rub her hair before standing up. "I'll be quick… promise."
"Mmkay." Nanako nodded with dull eyes.
Dojima, seeing her look sad, opened his mouth to say something when his cell phone started ringing again. He gave her one last smile before heading to the kitchen.
Picking up his cellphone, his 'work' face was on, "Dojima speaking…"
Naruto looked between the busy father and the gloomy daughter and did the only thing he could think of.
With his fork, Naruto, in a very very slow motion stretched out his arm.
"Wheweeeee~grsh~"
In Nanako's dull eyes, the piece of steak she was going to eat was scooped off from her plate.
She opened her mouth, her eyes regaining light as she watched her supposed cousin shove her food inside his mouth.
To make it even worse, Naruto moaned loudly, wagging his eyebrows at the little girl.
"H-Hey.."
"Wheweee~ mama~"
Naruto struck again, stealing not only Nanako's steak that she spent time to cut, but also a few pieces of vegetables that she placed on the side.
"Y-You…" Nanako raised her hand.
Then she picked up her spoon and tried to snatch a piece of food from Naruto's plate.
"Whahaha!" Naruto, the thief of a thousand steaks, parried Nanako's spoon with the back of his fork.
Nanako couldn't hold it in anymore, "No fair! You stole mine! So it's only fair if I have some of yours!"
"Oh." Naruto arrogantly snorted, "You think you can just get away with doing that! Remember my name, Nanako. It is Uzumaki Naruto, the handsome prince who steals from the poor and gives to the rich!"
This time he aimed, but was immediately blocked by Nanako, who surprisingly, rotated the spoon in her hand to rebound Naruto's fork.
"Ha… hahaha!" Nanako giggled, blocking a few more strikes, "B-But you stole from me first! And you got it wrong! It's 'steal from the rich and give to the poor'."
"Huh." Naruto rubbed his chin in thought, "Was it that? Wow, I spent all my years without knowing." he gave the most gentlemanly bow he could to a 6 year old.
"Thank you~ Thank you very much~"
"Ah," Nanako rubbed the back of her head and bowed as well, "I-It's no probl-hey!"
She was stunned to find Naruto's fork speeding beneath her to her bowl.
"I won't let you!" a girl's voice full of righteousness tore through the air.
"Bring it on!"
The two went mad as they went back and forth.
In the kitchen, Dojima hung up the phone. His face grew more tired by the second. "Looks like I made the right choice to skip the booze…"
He shook his head with a sigh.
A job was a job after all.
He entered back to the living room with an ache in his neck, "Sorry guys, but I gott-" and then, the detective's eyes widened slowly as he witnessed the sight in the living room.
In front of the tv, on the table, both Naruto and Nanako had food stuck to their faces.
Dojima wasn't worried about the mess.
But right now his gaze was on little Nanako's who had the brightest of smiles.
"Huh, when was the last time I saw her smile so brightly before…?" Dojima stayed quiet, staring with relish.
Nanako giggled, she took her bowl into her hands.
Slapping away the approaching fork that wants to steal her dinner.
"Hahahaha!" Naruto closed his eyes, laughing loudly.
"Maybe inviting him over is a good thing, not just for me, but Nanako as well…" Dojima gave a wry smile.
He walked up to the two with a tired look, "Sorry, but I gotta go take care of some business. Go ahead and eat without me… and don't forget to clean up, geez, look at all the mess. It seems like a tornado just ran through here."
"Got it!" Naruto gave a thumbs up, missing the sad look on Nanako's face. "Take care of what you need, I'll look after Nanako-chan!"
That alone gave Dojima a bit of closure, "Thanks. I'll be counting on you."
He turned to Nanako, wincing at her expression. He opened his mouth to say something, a bit hesitant, "I don't know how late I'll be, so be a good girl. Alright, Nanako?"
Nanako nodded, fiddling with her hands, "Okay. Be safe."
"I will…"
Naruto and Nanako stood up. Both seeing Dojima off at the door.
Naruto rolled his shoulders nervously, the atmosphere in the room seemed so gloomy.
"H-Hey! How about we-"
"... It's always like this." Nanako looked down at her feet. "My dad's a detective so the office always calls for him. He's busy all the time, and by the time he comes home he is so tired. Tired of his job… and tired of me too, I guess…"
Naruto stayed quiet before snapping his fingers.
"Wait, I got something that could turn that frown of yours upside down!"
Nanako watched as her strange and loud cousin ran upstairs.
And then her mouth dropped when she saw the amounts of sweets in Naruto's hands.
"Hehehe~" Naruto came to the living room, dropped several bags of the sweets on the table.
He looked at Nanako's eyes that were practically glittering.
"Come on! Get some here, or…" Naruto opened up a bag of caramel popcorn, the scent of honey and caramel sweetening the air. He reached in and stuffed a handful into his mouth, "or I'm gonna finish everything!"
It took a few seconds for Nanako to respond.
She ran to the table with her hands cupping her cheeks.
Caramel popcorn, red licorice, bubblegum, chocolate…
… lollipops, sour drops, rainbow-gummy rings..
… jawbreakers, and so much more!
She pointed to herself, looking at Naruto with eyes full of wonder. "Y-You mean, I can have some?"
Naruto grinned back in response, "Have as much as you want!"
Then the two were back on the table eating sweets both left and right.
"And now for the local news." On the tv, an Announcer spoke as a close-up picture of a man in a suit popped up on the corner of the screen. "City council secretary, Taro Namatame, is under fire for an alleged relationship with a female reporter."
"His wife," a picture of a lady wearing a red kimono popped up. Her hair was tied up, and on her face was the smallest of smiles. "His wife, enka ballad sensation Misuzu Hiragi, revealed to this station that she will likely pursue damages. In response, Eye Television has decided to cancel all of announcer Mayumi Yamano's television appearances. Until allegations of an affair with Mr. Namatame are resolved, she'll remain off the air and out of the public eye."
"Oooo~" Naruto had his eye glued on the tv, "a cheating scandal? Spill the tea. Spill more of the tea… what the heck am I saying! Damn it, I blame my mom for being a gossiper!"
Naruto was very familiar with people gossiping. Every person gossips whether it be something interesting or they just want to talk about it.
He was also the victim of gossip.
That… and his mom likes to hold gossip meetings with a few of her fellow housewives back in the city.
Nanako pursed her lips at the tv.
"This is boring."
She turned the channel.
If she turned her head, she would have seen Naruto gawking at her. He was watching that!
Naruto raised his hand to complain, but fell into a sigh.
Her house, her rules…
Naruto grumbled, resting his cheek on his hand.
On the tv, a commercial started playing. "At Junes, every day is Customer Appreciation Day. Come see for yourself, and get in touch with our products!"
"Every day's great at your Junes~!" ending the commercial was a little song.
A song that was so catchy and good that Nanako felt the need to join in and sing it too.
Nanako sat up straight, her twin tails bobbing.
She waved her finger back and forth, as she sang.
"Every day's great at your Junes~!"
"Is this thing on…" Nanako jumped in surprise at the sound just to see Naruto lying down on his side, propping himself up with his arm, the other hand holding a microphone.
Nanako blinked.
Naruto smirked, he flipped a switch on the microphone as a catchy tune was being played.
"Every day's great at your Junes~ A place where friends gather. A beautiful sight no matter. Laughter ringing in your ears like celebrating the 4th of every year. Sunshine streaming, your heart be beating~!"
Naruto's rap was so fire that Nanako was just blankly staring at him, unable to react.
"... each and every day, a brand new chance. To dance 'n sing in this delightful trance. Well I gotta say is that 'Every day's great at your Junes~'!"
Ending it on a note, Naruto gave a confident smirk.
Nanako, being the child that she was who saw something silly, started off slow before giggling loudly.
Her cheeks were flushed red, she giggled and laughed to the point of snorting.
"T-That. Hahaha! That's so weeeeeird!"
Naruto pouted which caused Nanako to laugh even harder.
"Hey! I sang with my heart, yo! Your laughter makes me want to sing again!" to prove the point, Naruto brought the microphone near his mouth.
Nanako then lunged forward.
Large and small hands wrestled to hold the microphone.
"N-No, haha! You're not allowed to e-ever rap again!"
"What are you talking about! My rap is a 10 out of 10! See, watch!... beatboxing by Uzumaki Naruto, beginning now. A-one-a-two-a-three…" Naruto breathed in a large amount of air. Preparing to beatbox like his life depended on it.
"N-No!"
"Oh shi-"
Nanako body slammed Naruto into the ground.
As dinner time passed, Naruto and Nanako cleaned up, ate a bunch of candy, joked around before watching cartoons on the tv.
Naruto cooed as Nanako's body shook lightly, her eyes opening and closing. Her face was sleepy.
"Is little Nanako-chan sleepy~" Naruto teased.
"N-No." Nanako weakly retorted, "I'm not sle-sleepy~"
Naruto just shook his head with laughter.
The next thing Nanako knew, she was being carried into her room.
"Night. Night, Nanako~"
"Mmm." Nanako yawned cutely, lying down on her pillow. Her blanket over her and her stuffed teddy bear.
"N-Night… night."
Unknown to Nanako, the little girl was sleeping with a large smile on her face as she hugged her stuffed teddy bear.
The stuffed bear responded with a still smile under its black beady eyes.
After making sure everything was locked, Naruto shut off the lights before walking upstairs into his room.
Naruto closed the door, looking around at the many boxes scattered about.
"Alright. Time to unpack."
Naruto lifted up a box before setting it onto the ground.
He sighed with a smile.
Then Naruto swiftly changed into his orange pajamas before jumping into his bed. He wrapped himself all around with his blanket. "I'll unpack tomorrow. Hehehe…zzzz."
"... ga. What the hell…" Naruto groaned, shaking his head.
He got up only to blink at his surroundings.
Mist, haze, fog or whatever it was was all around him.
"The hell am I?" He looked down to see he was stepping on a red tiled road crossed with black lines.
The road stretched until it was completely shrouded in the thick fog.
Naruto frowned, rolling his shoulders as he walked forward.
He placed his hands in front of his mouth, "Hey! Is anybody here!"
No voice answered him back, all that greeted him down the road was just fog.
"Yup. Definitely having nightmares about this when I wake up."
"Do you seek the truth…?" suddenly out of nowhere, a voice that sounded neither male or female spoke out.
Naruto swung his head, but didn't catch anyone.
"Seek the truth of what? How I keep flunking my tests!" He called out.
No voice answered him back.
Naruto frowned. His feet moving forward as his body tensed.
He didn't know how long he walked, but the voice from earlier called out to him again.
"If it's truth you desire, come and find me…" this time the voice was coming from up ahead.
Naruto sped up into a fast walk then into a run.
"Who are you?!"
He ran forward until a large block was in front of him. The block had black and red cube designs imprinted on it.
He tapped against the wall.
Pressing his ear against it, Naruto's lips thinned, "Hello…"
Naruto jumped back as the cube suddenly jerked. The cube spun as the center of it opened up to him.
Entering through the hole, Naruto was taken aback by the silhouette standing before him in the fog with crossed arms.
"So… You are the one pursuing me…" the voice seemed distorted, neither manly or feminine.
"Hmhmhm…" the stranger muttered while stepping forward to Naruto. Figure is shrouded by the thick fog.
"Try all you like…"
"Huh?" Naruto scratched the back of his head. "Listen here lady, man… or whatever you are. I don't know what's going on, but-!"
In a burst of speed, the silhouette appeared in front of him before reaching an arm out.
Surprisingly before the hand could touch Naruto, the blond disappeared.
"Hm…" the stranger muttered.
From behind, Naruto gritted his teeth and swiftly punched out into the fog, his right fist made contact before backing away with both fists raised.
"Just for a second… I definitely felt someone's hair. Soft hair, almost like a woman's own…" Naruto raised his fists to his chest.
His eyes never leaving the stranger.
The stranger, covered in fog, stopped in their place. It lifted up a hand to smooth out the place where it had been hit.
"Hmmm…" it spoke up, "You surprised me with that hit. It seems that you can see a little, despite the fog…"
Naruto's body grew tense when the figure turned around.
He can't see it, but he feels a pair of eyes staring into him, as if staring into his soul as well.
Naruto clicked his teeth, he felt something wet running across his forehead.
He quickly wiped at it before realizing.
"It's my sweat… I'm sweating."
Naruto shook his head before glaring.
"Who are you! Where is this place! I swear if you laid a hand on Nanako, I'll…!"
Just like before, the silhouette moved, without leaving a single sound from their footsteps.
Surprised, Naruto's legs sprung up.
But to Naruto's shock, he found himself so high above the ground.
As he fell, he gritted his teeth as his legs made contact with the ground. From that height alone, upon landing his legs should have been broken, but besides being stunned he was okay.
"What the hell is this place.."
He ducked his head when a fist flew over him.
The stranger didn't seem serious as they quietly popped right next to Naruto swinging an arm or leg out.
Almost as if in a playful manner.
"I see… indeed… That is very interesting information… You seem so different compared to the rest…"
Naruto breathed as he parried a few hits before reeling his right arm back.
"Raaaaaagh!"
He punched forward with all his strength, aiming at the person's chest.
Upon impact, the silhouette actually flew back into the fog.
Naruto, instead of following, stayed in his place with his eyes wandering everywhere for any hints of the stranger.
"...Nice hit. But… You will not catch me so easily… If what you seek is 'truth,' then your search will be even harder…"
"Just what… the hell are you?" Naruto asked.
His body tensed as the figure was enveloped by a red glow for a few seconds.
To his dismay, the fog became even more thick. So thick that he couldn't even see his hands anymore.
Naruto's ear tensed as he ducked again.
A hand swiped by before retreating.
"Everyone sees what they want to… and upon that, the fog only deepens…"
Then Naruto jumped up, and a leg was kicked out.
Naruto grabbed a feel for the leg, using it for his balance, swung his body and kicked out.
Making contact, the figure flew back while Naruto landed on the ground.
Naruto crouched while tugging at his neckline. He breathed in and out.
Was it him? Or was it getting hard to breathe all of a sudden?
"...Will we meet again…?"
Those were the last words Naruto heard before he lost conscience.
"Are you okay, Naruto? You don't look so good." Nanako asked with worry as Naruto ate his food silently.
Nanako woke up early this morning to make breakfast, her father already went to work.
She wanted to surprise Naruto with a large breakfast, but Naruto doesn't seem as happy as she thought he would.
"Oh. Sorry about that, Nanako." Naruto scratched the back of his neck before giving a stiff smile towards the girl. "I had a bit of a nightmare last night."
"Oh." Nanako looked worried, "Is this about your rapping skills, Naruto? I agree. It might cause the world to go into flames…"
Naruto nodded as he silently ate his breakfast.
And then he snapped his head towards Nanako, "Huwha? Wu shey?!" he was so stunned that he didn't finish chewing his food.
"Eeeeeeew~" Nanako giggled. "Don't eat with your mouth full."
As Nanako feasted on her fried toast and sunny-side up eggs, Naruto swallowed his food.
"Nanako? You don't mean that do you? Your cousin's rap was so fire, but in a good way. Right?"
Nanako nodded, her lips curved upwards as she bit into her toast.
"Mmmhm."
"C'mon. Give your cousin one more chance! I'll rap so good your sunny-side eggs will turn scrambled!"
"Mmmhm."
"... You don't believe me! Well, back in the city I rapped for breakfast, lunch and dinner!"
"Mmmhm."
Naruto kept trying to convince his little cousin that his raps were 100% awesome, Nanako kept smiling. Keeping herself from giggling by nodding her head and eating her food.
By the time they both finished, Naruto was pouting.
"Nanako-chan~" he whined.
Nanako giggled as she and Naruto began washing dishes.
The two exited the house while Naruto frowned, tugging at his uniform.
"Can't believe I'm starting school so soon. I literally just got here." Naruto grouched, "Can't I just slack off at home and watch tv? Ugh. I thought I would have a small break from homework and exams…"
Nanako smiled, "But you look nice at least."
"Hey, yeah. You're right." Naruto stood up straight winking in one direction. "I do look handsome don't I?"
Naruto and Nanako both watched as an orange cat that was passing by, looked in Naruto's direction.
The cat looked at Naruto and made a puking sound before wandering off.
The area fell silent.
Naruto dropped his head, a heavy rain cloud could almost be visually seen hovering over him.
Nanako held her stomach, and laughed out loud.
"C-C'mon." Nanako pulled her cousin's arm with glittering eyes, "My school's on the way, so let's go together."
Naruto, full of depression, nodded with teary eyes. "O'kay…"
And then it started dripping before actual rain came down.
Naruto and Nanako quickly pulled out their umbrellas, his was clear white and hers was small and yellow.
"And it's raining! Ugh! This sucks!"
"Hehehe." Nanako then pulled Naruto as she walked hand in hand with him.
On the way, Naruto saw many other people walking along the road.
It was until entering the Samegawa flood plain that Naruto started to see other students, some wearing his school uniform and little kids being followed by their parents.
Nanako let go of his hand when she spotted a few of her friends. She pointed forward, "You keep going straight from here, Naruto. My school's this way. Bye bye."
"Ah wait, Nanako!... and she's gone."
Naruto sighed before looking down at the large river.
Accompanied with the sun rising in the background made Naruto smile briefly.
Arriving at the intersection in front of the school, Naruto narrowed his eyes.
"Shouldn't be far from here…"
"Whoaaaa!" a loud voice shouted behind him.
Naruto turned back to see a guy wearing the same school uniform as him, drove his bike in a zig-zag like pattern.
Naruto winced as the poor guy crashed into a pole.
He looked around as other students stared at the biking guy who crashed before going off in their own ways.
"What the hell? You guys aren't gonna help him or anything?" Naruto asked, but nobody was there to answer as they all headed up the road.
"Ngh… urrrrghhhh…" the biking student groaned on the ground.
"Hey, need some help there?"
The biking student without looking grabbed onto the hand. "T-Thanks." With some effort, the boy was pulled back onto his feet.
The biking student picked up his bike and his umbrella before turning around, "Thanks for the assist, man. This actually happened a couple times, surprised someone actually lent out their hand to help me."
Naruto gave a friendly smile, "No worries. Always glad to help out."
The two fell silent as they both stared at each other.
And then the biking student's smile turned thin before looking all over at Naruto's face. Before looking up and down.
"Uuh…"
"Bro… You're so…" the biking student slapped his own face. "Calm down. Calm down. I'm straight! Remember that!"
Then the biking student turned to Naruto again.
"Uh. Sorry about that, names Hanamura Yosuke. Nice to meet you." he lifted his hand up.
Naruto gave a hesitant smile, "Uzumaki Naruto. No problem at all." the two shook hands before letting go.
Yosuke kept staring at Naruto's face.
Naruto fidgeted in his spot.
"Wh-What's wrong? Something the matter with my face?" Naruto touched his face. He could have sworn he washed his face before getting dressed up.
"Dude… you don't know?" Yosuke looked hella confused.
How do you not know you look so hot?!
Yosuke was a ladies man. He is and will forever be straight, but looking at this guy named Uzumaki Naruto, had him almost second guessing his own outlook on life.
Although they were both wearing the same black uniform, Naruto was wearing an inside orange shirt. A ceremonial necklace with three jaded magatama stones.
With that exotic tan skin, those eyes kissed by the sky and ocean themselves as well as that flowing golden spiky mane that flowed in the wind…
As well as those weird whisker-like marks on his face, and that smile that was begging for attention…
He's not gay, but if he was a woman. Emphasis on the 'was' a woman then he would have been head over heels for this guy upon first sight.
First sight!
"Ugh. Anyway, nevermind." Yosuke turned to his bike before grimacing upon seeing another dent.
"Great. Another dent. Just what I need this week. Sigh. I bet you laughed seeing me drive like an idiot on the road." Yosuke joked as he turned to look at Naruto.
Only for him to freeze up as a hand rested on his shoulder.
"Hey, it's alright." Naruto's smile entered Yosuke's eyes. "Your driving was alright in my book. Man, you own a bike like that? That's awesome! I wish I had a bike, I did ride on scooters before but they weren't the same…" a jealous look was put on.
"But…" Naruto tilted his umbrella back, revealing a happy face. "I think you look so cool when you were riding it down the road!"
Then the area was silent again until Yosuke finally spoke up.
He looked at Naruto with a serious expression on his face.
"... If I turn gay, it's your fault!"
Naruto blinked before yelling, ruining whatever beautiful moment that was going on.
"Gay! What do you mean gay? Why would you be gay?! Wait! Gay… for me?! I just got here!" Naruto gasped before covering himself up with one arm, backing away while looking at Yosuke with disgust.
"Come within a foot and I'll send ya home back to yo mama in a casket." the blond warned.
Yosuke's lips twitched before sighing in relief. "Whew. Good thing your mouth was there otherwise I'll be transfixed on the spot with the curse."
He bowed towards Naruto with a clap of his hands. "Arigatou!"
Naruto, even more confused, wildly waved his arms and the umbrella.
"The hell do you mean?!"
"Welcome to Yasogami High School!" Yosuke presented as he and Naruto walked past the main gates.
"Still I can't believe it. Another transfer student from the city popping up around here." Yosuke patted Naruto on the shoulder, "Looks like that makes you the new kid."
Naruto looked up, "The building is big, but a bit smaller than the ones in the city."
"Yeah, but what you see is what you get. If you have any questions, just direct them to your fellow city-man, Yosuke Hanamura! I'll show you the ropes around here, rookie!"
Naruto sweatdropped at the look of confidence on Yosuke's face.
"I have a bad feeling about this school already…"
Hearing this, Yosuke nodded with a look of 'understanding' on his face.
"Same here. Same here. I was in the same boat as you when I first arrived. Hell, it took me awhile just for things to turn back a little normal around these parts. You just gotta give it time, look around a little. Trust me, it won't be long until you start calling this place home."
Naruto thought about it before nodding.
"Guess you're right. Thanks for the advice, I'll be counting on you for any information, Yosuke!"
"Aye! That's the spirit!" Yosuke slapped Naruto's shoulder before walking forward.
"Come on, I'll show you the locker area around here. You don't have an assigned locker yet right? Well, for that you gotta get your own locker number from the main office of the school."
Entering the building, in the locker area, Yosuke closed his umbrella, shaking it back a bit to remove any water from it.
He turned to Naruto to say something before his lips twitched.
Naruto closed his umbrella and set it off to the side. Because he didn't notice the rain earlier, a couple of splashes managed to get the hit on him from above.
Standing by the entrance of the school, Naruto shook his hair that was drenched from the rain.
It was like in one of those slow motion flicks where the sudden stud of the movie was wet so he slowly shook his body to dry himself off. The camera lens focused on the manly guy as he shook the water droplets off himself.
And that scene was being played right in front of him.
Naruto ran a hand through his hair as it slicked back before spiking forward again, giving it one more shake ending it altogether with a smile.
Naruto grinned at Yosuke, "Damn rain. Am I right, Yosuke?"
Yosuke's lips twitched, "Y-Yeah, dude."
Hearing murmurs around, Yosuke looked around and finally noticed the many students looking in their direction.
Even the students who walked past the pair to head to their lockers stopped and stared.
Even got to the point where a few female students walked into other students because they weren't paying attention to their own surroundings.
All eyes were on Naruto and Yosuke.
Yosuke looked around before smirking, running a hand through his hair. "Us, city guys, truly are the definition of dangerous in this town."
Then he almost fell down when retorts flew in his direction.
"Hanamura-san. We're looking at the blond, not at you."
"Yeah, keep dreaming, Yosuke."
"We're more interested in your friend…"
Yosuke fell onto his knees, pounding the ground. "Why?! We're both transfer students from the city so why?!"
Naruto sweatdropped, reaching a hand out.
"Um. You alright there?"
Yosuke sighed before getting up.
Sad and depressed, he grabbed Naruto's arm and pulled him away from the entrance.
"Yeah yeah. Just feeling peachy is all. C'mon, I'll show you the cafeteria. If we make it there on time we could even have a few extra servings."
At this, Naruto's eyes widened. Although food from his cute little cousin Nanako was fine, he still has room for more.
"Alright, time to see what this school has in store for breakfast!" Naruto pumped his fist up with a smirk, "Dattebayo!"
A few eyes looked at Naruto before swooning.
"Wha?!" Yosuke stopped to look at Naruto with an unbelievable expression. "You even got your own tick? Your own catchphrase! Ugh!"
Naruto cutely blinked with a tilted head.
An image of a fox and a cat split through his mind for a sec, Yosuke glared at him before stating with the most nonchalant of tones.
"I'm serious. Me - a ladies man. If I turn gay it's your fault."
"HUH?! WHAT DATTEBAYO?!"
Suddenly breakfast for Yosuke Hanamura got a lot more louder than usual with the new transfer student coming to town.
