Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book II. Last time, seemingly moments after arriving at the morgue, Spyro, Cynder, Batwoman and Flash were jumped by a new Killer Croc. They managed to fight the creature off and trapped it behind a wall of fire generated by Flash. But just as they left it to continue the search for Beth Kane's corpse, Joker arrived with Mad Hatter and seemingly a new Mister Freeze, the latter of whom released the new Killer Croc, also one of Joker's pawns, and the quartet went in pursuit of the heroes. So, what awaits ahead? Read on to discover...
(Our scene opens with the slamming of a door, as Spyro, Cynder, Batwoman and Flash enter a room, shutting the door behind them just in case the new Killer Croc comes after them)
Spyro: You think this door'll hold if that Croc thing escapes it's flaming prison?
Batwoman: If the original one is anything to go by? Not even remotely.
Cynder: (Looking at the wall) We won't need it to hold out forever. We're here.
(And now the quartet sees the room they're in. It's lined with drawers, morgue freezers undoubtedly.)
Flash: Talk about lucky.
Cynder: The Element of Shadow is in one of these drawers.
Batwoman: Then we'd best get looking. (To Spyro) Barricade this door with whatever you can find, just to be on the safe side.
Spyro: On it.
(While Spyro starts to barricading the door by pushing a desk that's for some reason down here against it, Flash, Batwoman, and Cynder start checking the drawers, hoping to find Beth Kane's body quickly. And soon enough, on the actual last drawer in the room, Batwoman spots the chart for the body within, and it's the only one with an alias.)
Batwoman: I got her!
(Flash and Cynder rush over just as Batwoman opens the morgue freezer and pulls out the table, revealing the body of Beth Kane, still riddled with bullet holes from the Joker)
Cynder: That was pretty fast. How'd you...?
Batwoman: The identifying chart. (Holds it up for Cynder) It's the only one with an alias on it.
Cynder: (Reading the chart) "Alice"?
Batwoman: That's a long story. But we don't have time to get into it. We've got what we came for.
Flash: Cynder, can you reabsorb your Element?
Cynder: I really hope so.
(With that, Cynder scans her paw over Beth Kane's body, trying to find where the Element of Shadow centered itself. But just as she finds it, a banging can be heard on the door, with Spyro trying to reinforce it with all his weight)
Spyro: I don't mean to panic you three, but we really need to get moving! It looks like we've got company and I can't keep them back forever!
Cynder: We shouldn't need much more time.
(Not wasting a moment, Cynder places her paw on Beth Kane's body and begins to slowly reabsorb the Element of Shadow, but before she can finish, the door is thrown open, revealing Joker, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, and the mysterious figure with the freezing mist)
Mad Hatter: (Seeing what Cynder is doing as she turns to look at him) Stop!
(As soon as he says that, the light in his hat glows again, and involuntarily, Cynder removes her paw from Beth Kane's body, stopping the reabsorption much to her confusion)
Cynder: (Noticing what just happened) What the?! What sorcery is this?!
Batwoman: It's the hat. The original Hatter built technology into it that makes anyone looking at it immediately comply with an order from the wearer.
Joker: Something I've ben able to use to my advantage so far. (Pulls out a Tommy gun) Now then, back away from the corpse, so we can get what we want. Or you'll be as full of holes as your Swiss cheese friend.
Batwoman: (Entering a battle stance) Not a chance.
Joker: Oh I was hoping you'd say that.
(And with that, Joker just starts shooting. Flash is able to stop some of the bullets with a shield of Fire somehow as Batwoman gets Cynder to some degree of safety underneath the extended freezer drawer. But just as she gets back up, Batwoman makes contact with Beth Kane's hand, and begins the transfer again, this time into her. Mad Hatter sees this and attempts to issue an order)
Mad Hatter: Sto...
(But before Mad Hatter can finish that statement, Spyro gets up and punches Mad Hatter in the face, knocking off his hat, preventing him from controlling anyone. But just as he does this, the Element of Shadow finishes making it's way into Batwoman, with the voice of Ignitus echoing in her mind just as it did for Flash earlier)
Ignitus: Ryan Wilder, you have been the light in the shadow in your darkest hour. You have proven worthy of the Element of Shadow.
(With those words, the transfer has completed, Batwoman is now the host of the Element of Shadow, as evidenced by tendrils of Shadow emerging from all over her body.)
Joker: You've got to be kidding me. She's got it now?! Looks like I'm going to have to kill another Bat to get what I need!
Spyro: (Tail-thwacking Joker across the face) Not a chance clown!
Batwoman: (Seeing the Shadow eminating from her body) Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Cynder: This might be better than you think! You've got our way out of here!
Batwoman: How?!
Cynder: I just need you to concentrate on getting the four of us out of here! It'll make sense in a moment!
Joker: Virgil, stop them!
Virgil Getty: Gladly
(Realizing they don't have much choice, Batwoman tries to concentrate on what Cynder just said, and before she knows it, the shadows of herself, Cynder, Flash, and Spyro become conjoined, and sooner rather than later they disappear into it, vanishing from the scene just as Virgil Getty unleashes a blast of his freezing mist which ultimately misses them.)
Joker: Lord Malefor is not going to like this.
(As the four try to regroup from what just happened, our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So, now Batwoman is host for the Element of Shadow. Because of course the Dark Knight is going to get that one. Now Cynder gets to try and teach someone who's never used Elemental energy before how to use it effectively. Let's just hope Cynder is as successful with Batwoman as Spyro was with Flash. So be sure to tune in next time to find out if she might be! Same time... same channel!
