So...Having a bit of a stressful few days, the heatwave hasn't been helping my mood but I decided to write this chapter where we don't have any lines from the Mutant Students or any of the Mutant Characters this is mostly just flashback and revealing my head canon Little Mac is an orphan, one Punch Out fanfic had the idea Glass Joe as an orphan, felt that was a little too depressing for Poor Little Glass Joe but it is actually kind of fitting for Little Mac as a way of explaining why Doc Louis is his father figure in absence of any blood relatives and might explain Mac's determination to prove himself and some other things like why he's so quiet
Von Kaiser continued the story…
"Shortly after the Mutant Sharks, Dolphins and other Aquatic Mutants started attacking the humans who jumped in the water...The NYPD fired shots and the Aquatic Mutants which got them to quickly swim off, their aquatic nature meant they couldn't wear any armor to protect themselves...A few of those mutants were killed by the gunshots and the police quickly took their bodies into custody...That was before we arrived at the docks...We were finally able to leave the gym at about 5 PM…"
FLASHBACK
The Boxers timidly stepped out of the gym...It was a ghastly sight seeing the road and sidewalk bloody from all the trampled corpses! Some of the boxers like Disco Kid and Super Macho Man quickly covered their mouths straining not to vomit...Surprisingly...Don Flamenco despite his reputation for drenching himself in perfume...Remained stoic...His past as a matador probably helped desensitize him to blood and gore…
Rather he seems to sense who is waiting for him
"Donato!" Come a familiar voice
Carmen ran to him, practically flying into his arms and they kissed...They quickly began conversing in Spanish...Carmen despite the fear of the 'Monsturos' she knew better than to run out into the stampede, instead she stayed in the apartment even when the power went completely out...It was clear now no one would be able to call anyone because the phone lines are now down...Even if the strange creatures knocked down telephones poles in Queens that should be able to effect Manhattan...No...Something else had caused the massive power outage…
They slowly made their way to the docks where people were camping out, and there they heard about the 'Monster Sharks and Dolphins' who attacked people who jumped in the water...What few were killed by the police their bodies were quickly taken into custody so the Boxers never got to see them.
The Creatures were still on the Warpath in Queens...A great place of smoke could be seen turning the night red and orange...But here in Manhattan things had calmed down they told the Boxers they saw airplanes and helicopters with the letters 'EPF' on them so they knew the Earth Protection Force was taking care of it, the sounds they were hearing were probably the EPF battling the creatures as they spoke!
So as the summer night went on...The people camped out, storekeepers gave away fruits, and bread and candy because now was not the time to insist on payment. Don Flamenco and Carmen mingled with the many Spanish speaking people in New York and together they sang a traditional prayer song.
It was during this time Disco Kid finally was reunited with his family! His Mom, Dad and younger sister and ran up and hugged him! This was the first time Little Mac saw Disco Kid's family, he came from a mixed family his Dad was black, his Mom was white, his sister took after the Mom's side of the family in skin color and Little Mac could see now Disco Kid's blond hair really was natural not dyed.
The family told Disco Kid they knew it would not be safe staying in Brooklyn which is right next to Queens with those creatures on the march, so as soon as they could they made their way over to Manhattan where they knew Michael would be.
Disco Kid turned to Little Mac "Still waiting for your family?"
And that caused Little Mac to bristle for a few moments and he quickly tried to pull himself together.
"Anything wrong Little Mac?" Disco Kid asked genuinely worried he had said something wrong
"Nothing!" Little Mac quickly said "I'm fine! It's just...Too crowded over here...I need some space!"
Little Mac began to walk away...Disco Kid was about to go after him as it's clearly not safe to be on your own with monsters on the loose...But Doc Louis stopped him
Doc Louis sighed "I didn't want to have to reveal this…" He said when Little Mac was safely out of earshot "...But now it might be necessary for his safety…"
He and Disco Kid went to the other boxers of the WVBA huddled around a fire in a trash can and revealed Little Mac was in fact an orphan when Doc Louis met the kid at 17 about to age out of the system...Seeing his passion for boxing, at first merely being his trainer now basically became his father-figure without officially adopting him...Just to not deal with the paperwork…
So this was good practice writing a chapter with only humans no animal characters the animals are just a hostile force then humans are reacting to
