Chapter 3: Deadly trap part 1
-Sir Momon behind this hill is fortess city of E-Rantel!-
Said little boy. He looked no less than twelve years old.
-Umu. Finally I'll get some good rest.-
And check out what the hell happened out there.
Or maybe not. I like my skelly head.
Warrior Captain came rushing from behind the column.
What and admirable man. Whole day he was checking if everyone is alright.
He was a true leading figure unlike me. Though for some strange reason villagers seems
to have some misplaced fondness to me.
Well I saved them, but I am not some hero from video game or book.
That's not to my liking I like big lonely tombs and cartoonish villainesness. Well maybe not like Ulbert but I like some.
Touch me would loved that. Sometimes he daydreamed about being a hero in a heroic saga and this is why Ulbert hates him
so much. Well not really, but edgy lords think other edgy lords are edgy not realizing how they are very similar.
Yes that was the case with Ulbert. Good times.
Before I realised we were in front of E-Rantel front Gates.
A lot of startled guards were flowing up the walls.
Then Warrior Captain talked with the supposed leader of those guard.
I seen how poor guy face was becoming paler by seconds.
Not like I was paying attention to anything, while I was wondering how I was still alive, after angering
local neighborhood World Enemy gang.
As they talked, someone on horse came at full speed rushing, probably towards capitol.
Then i realised Warrior captain is showing me some signs to came closer to him.
I quickly came right up to two men which one looked at me like I was some sort of diety and other holding shit-eating grin.
-Wow sir you are really taller up close.-
Grumbled the old guard. Probably some chief of security. I need to be cautious.
-Worry not good man. I prefer to not show my face due to my religion. I have not ill intentions. I only hope those poor
folks will have place to be while we would be dealing with that unforeseen trobules.-
Play it off, play it off...
For a while Warrior Captain looked at me strangely.
Then the tension disappeared. And my emotional suppresion activated.
-Well there is not helping it sir Momon. Our work is basically done here. I will never forget what you done to
the kingdom. I'll make sure His Majesty hears about it.-
Yeah, what ever, just let me go.
-Understandable Sir Stronoff i hope we will found ourselves again, maybe in more amicable conditions.
And without dragons over our heads.-
Warrior Captain let out a hearty laugh.
-That's fine sir Momon, but I must advise you that not matter the culture, you must show your face in His Majesty presence.-
Umu. Understood, avoid royality for now.
I bobbed my head in aknowlegdment and set off towards the city.
-I hope we see each other again Sir Stronoff maybe another time, in another place.-
I didn't cared about long goodbyes so I speed up and vanished behind the corner.
Then I seen it. Adventure guild signboard.
Here comes my chance to blend into my surroundings. Yes, for the time being, I will pose as a simple adventurer.
What could go wrong? This seems like a sound plan.
When I entered Adventurer guild everyone froze on the spot.
Not like I care this is not some manga about "new heroes in town" like touch me loved reading.
I came up to the tired looking woman who looked like she contemplated suicide.
I learned from her about ranks and many rules of this guild. You need a proof of your kill.
So i need to basically give them part of my hard earned loot to get quest done. Great.
Everything was currently stopped beacuse some certain dragons wanted to make a picinc not far from carne village.
Not like I blamed them. Probably adventures from whole country will arrive here to slain those beasts.
But judging by most of those people they wont survive a second and will be fried like steet food.
Street food. Right i need to taste things! I never got a chance at tasting anything because of those damn dragons
and villagers that stalked me constantly in the camp. In postapocaliptic Japan only high members of society could
ate real food because of it scarsity. The best thing i ever tasted was synthetic pastes that some times corporations
gave workers for events or birthdays of some corporate figures.
Shaking off those thought I finally arrived at the inn. It looked like dump. But still much better tha anything
from my old world. When I opened the door, smell of rot and unwashed men hit me like a hammer.
Well you need to start somewhere. This is the place new adventurers start huh?
Its not suprising many quit this job. If the first thing I saw was this inn I would be discouraged as well.
I walked up to the counter. Behind it was gruff looking man in his fifties. He looked at me,
and instantly lost interest in me. I felt i was getting ignored.
I waited for some time then he came up to me and said.
-7 coppers for one room.-
I agreed instantly. I need to went out after todays events.
When i was about to came up to the top of the stairs someone tried to trip me with their foot.
-Oi! oi! That hurts maybe you would give me a conpensation big guy.-
I spinned on my foot in place to face the man that spoke.
He looked like some street punk from manga peroroncino shared with me. but after always were scenes with young flat chested
woman i never understood what connects those two events to each other.
-For what i could see it was you who planted your foot in front of me. So if you could I don't have time
for such nonsense.-
This guy was infuriating. How do I teach him a lesson when I need to stay low?
He stood up at least to my shoulders.
It looks hilarious.
I took my armoured fingers and flicked his nose.
He instantly went limp. If I didn't had a World Enemies on my back i probably would make him fly across the room.
But I do not have time for this.
Everybody was speacheless.
-Ipossible he is just copper!-
-Frank! Oh my god Frank! He got him! Oh wait its not a Frank, never mind.-
-Aeugh-
-What?!-
-I need to stop drinking-
-Im never smoking this again man. Its some foul stuff!-
After leaving them to their rumbling I locked up myself in my room.
-Alright! Lets do this.-
I deactivated [Perfect Warrior] and took off my armour.
My heart started beating again and I started casting my spells.
-[Anti-Information Magic Wall], [Breath ward],[Delay Teleportation],[Detect Magic],
[Magic lock], [Scrying Ward: Widen magic: Nuclear Blast].-
I let out a sigh. Well now I feel a little bit safer.
The waves of negative energy that my heart generates is not as powerful to rot something at least.
And my magic works good to mask it. But i can only use it stationary. Otherwise i would need to cast
it every couple meters. How annoying.
-Soo... now, I have a proof that something or somebody took me away from my world to kill me.-
This was total failure. Mine failure and my assailants. At least not only me is not knowing what the hell is he doing.
From all of this I forgot to order anything.
I let out a chuckle and sitted down on the stinking bed.
-Hmm? Lively. I think its time to take initiative in my hands.-
/o/
-It wasn't supossed to be like that!-
Those damn dragons how dare they intrude upon my sacred mission. I Nigun Grid Luin will not let that slight slide so easily!
When we arrived at Carne village everything was abandoned, but not like we liked it. It was abandoned by villagers and my
men has been slaughtered by some swordsman! When we get ourselves on the situation around. Giant blue scaled dragon arrived
and just stood and mocked us. He had green eyes with verticaly slit irises. His scales reflected the light making him shine.
His neck was absurdaly long in comparison to the rest of his body. He looked like some polished wase for watering plants.
Naturally we fought the monster. But it only laughed at us as we casted barrage of spells upon him. Damn archangel flames
didn't even tickle him. Scratch that. He killed half of my casters, but when we tried to activate the holy relic
he just took off. Cowardly beast. Now we stand here without supplies, horses, half of my men screaming from pain
and in the middle of this mess is me.
I just sit on the rock and draw on the dirt with the stick.
-There is nothing we can do.-
This is first time I failed my mission. The only time I failed was when those pesky Blue roses stopped extermination
of those animals and left me with a scar. At least this is not solely my fault this time.
-Lord Nigun, we finished the preparations and we are ready to depart!-
I dropped the stick and stood up.
The caster that adressed me had one of his arms broken and his bucket like helmet had a hole where i could see his
exposed face.
-Good. Any more Dragon Lords nearby?-
The caster shook his head.
Then i felt it. Something isn't right.
I felt like something wake up in the forest and were going to a single point.
I looked down at my detection amulets. The grey one was glowing in faint purple light.
- Undead. Undead are nearby and doing something.-
Caster started looking around franticaly. Like undead would show up any moment.
-I am sure we burned every corpse we made and seen... that's not it.
This presence is aetherial... perhaps wraiths?
-Take casters that specialize in undead clensing magic, looks like I could redeem myself from this disgrace...-
/o/
Its good that at least [Perfect Unknowable] works. If it wasn't working i would be left without magic.
I can't attract their attention or they will sneeze me out of existence.
And that cannot stand. I am the last remnant of my precious guild.
-Ainz Ooal Gown does not know defeat!-
Its not like somebody can hear me, Im flying at high speed above the ground with [Perfect Unknowable] active.
Why do I fly in the direction of Carne village. The answer is simple. I need information from my summons.
In the game you could see what your summon seen when you use [Undead slave sight] on them.
But it also works in the past. You could rewind what your summon saw couple hours earlier.
And that's what I am about to do right now.
When i was talking with the villagers I ordered my wriaths to stay in the forest and infrom me
about any strong enemies. Of course for past hour my head was beeping like a christmas decoration.
My wraiths tried to contact me without any succes because i was to panicked.
The last order i gave them was to not engage anything and stand by hidden in the ground or trees.
Now I am floating on the hill not far from the Carne village. It looks very disturbing.
But for me it reminds me of my home. I can almost smell the long forgotten tomb.
I need to stop daydreaming or I turn myself into a fossil.
I sighed. Where are they? Oh here they are.
Two ghastly shapes entered my vision, coming up hill.
And they bowed low.
Finally some useful information I was going blind for those past hours.
I touched my wriath in the center and pulled.
I seen dragons.
One had white almost like platinium scales, the other had also white scales but he was more grey than white.
The third had some illusion spell put upon him. He was laughing at the cost of the leading one.
The second and first were argiung. The greyer one was accusing the platinium one of something.
This vision was hazy like in some dream it was hard to navigate memories of this creature.
Perhaps it is due to its low inteligence? Well i couldn't summon more powerful undead, because it will warrant attention.
At least I redeemed myself in that.
A flash of holy magic struk my summons and they died in one hit.
I quickly flew back to prepare and asess situation.
-And why they were grouping here like that. Like they were waiting for someone...-
Behind the trees on my left were three humans. Two of them weared a freaking buckets on their heads and the leading
figure had some dark magical robe that glowed soft yellow light. He had a constant scowl on his scarred face.
-[Mana Essence] [Life Essence]-
I was beyond pissed. Some newbies came right up and killed my wraiths while they were giving me report.
My despair aura activated blowing deadly wind that covered this whole hill. All plants around me died.
-THIS WILL NOT STAND. YOU PUNY MORTAL-
/o/
Just a second ago I was angry that something so insignificant took my atention from my duties.
But then... it hit me like a hammer.
The whole world around me darkened. Clouds started shaking, grass turned grey and dead.
It felt like whole good in this world had died in this moment.
Then above me, I seen it.
Death.
That's the only way you could describe the creature before me. A magnificent purple robes flew above me by the wind.
No... they were making the wind, or the thing... that weared them.
When I finally looked above I seen a bleached skull covered in flames of darkness looking at me with their judgemental burning gaze.
This thing lifted it's hand... a hand made entirely of bones that ended in sharp claws. This hand never belonged to a living human.
Whatever it was. It wasn't a common lich.
Then I felt like my heart was captured by someones grip.
I saw it. My own heart in the hands of that thing... Waiting to be crushed.
Then everything returned to normal. This abomination disappeared leaving behind only dead grass. I looked at my casters.
They were dead. Rotten, like they were rotting here for at least a month.
Loud Explosion shooked the air and I was thrown back.
I was coughing and trying to focus my eyes on the newcomer.
It was a silver armour. The shoulderpads of this armour were literally dragon skulls.
-I should have known that where is the trouble there is a Slane Theocracy.-
This warrior looked like he was a marionette moved only by a strings. This armour wasn't occupied.
It was piloted from a far.
-I was a fool accepting the peace with your Pontifex. Maybe Partrhorx was right. If I was about to kill Surshana i should also
destroy this cursed country. My patience ends right here.-
I quickly reached to my robes and activated holy artifact.
-Come forth [Dominion Authority]!-
The whole death plain exploded in holy light.
Nigun no longer registered what this mad armour was saying to him he wanted to destroy it and be done with it all.
-Now you will pay for your blasphemy! Dominion authority use [Holy Smite]!-
Dominion authority started gathering holy energy to attack.
The armour didn't moved.
-Hah! Now you understand your folly! But unfortunetly for you my mercy run out this morning! Or it wasn't even there.-
Nigun smirked he was sure of his victory. But this just unnerved him. This warrior just stared at him and did nothing more.
The figure of the draconic looking warrior was blasted with huge amounts of holy magic.
-Heh!-
The figure still standed in this unrelenting assault like nothing had happened and still stared at Nigun.
-Pathetic.-
It said.
It called the magic of the highest order pathetic.
The same magic that defeated the Evil deites.
-What the hell are you? How you can shrug off magic of highest order just like that!-
Nigun was seating bullets. But his rage was even greater than his fear.
- Are you a demon god? You must be! There is no other way! That is impossible!-
That brought attetion of the silver armoured worrior.
Armour only shifted never changing his position. Like a statue.
-Foolish mortal you do not know what is possible.-
It floated higher up to look at [Dominion Authority] up close.
- So this is medium level angel. It wasn't worth it. [Wild magic:Reap and tear]
After the warrior spoked those words [Dominion authority] started shaking uncontrolably
and just popped up like a ballon of light.
Before Nigun could react to this. The katana was already sailing through the air.
It impaled him, and he spurted a glob of blood of his mouth.
It was strange that the last thing Nigun thought about his life was...
Why does his eyes look so empty?
Author's notes: Well here you go next chapter. Mysteries unfold, bone daddy accidentaly fools PDL, Nigun is dead.
I wait for your rewiew.
