A few weeks later.
Nico hadn't seen Will for a few weeks. He'd been stuck in the infirmary. He is brain wouldn't leave him alone after Will had told him he was bi. He decided to ask him out if only to stop the constant flow of thoughts and worries. He decided a picnic would be a great way to start because in the movies they did a romantic picnic. He had no idea what he was doing, so he decided to go to the Satyrs and Nymphs for help.
they agreed immediately to help with the picnic. So Nico asked Will to meet him on Thursday.
Today was Nico's picnic with Will. He was exited. He could feel the skeletal butterflies fluttering in his stomach.
Nico walked past the dining pavilion that afternoon on his way to the woods where he was going to meet Will. There were flower wreaths hanging everywhere and picnic baskets at every table. The Nymphs were all dressed up and Juniper greeted him with a crown of holly. She placed it on Nico' head and sat him down at the head table.
He had no idea what was happening. I'm gonna be late for my picnic with Will! He thought.
Once all of the campers had gathered, Juniper said. "Today is a special day. Nico has an announcement."
Nico realized too late this was his picnic with Will. This isn't what I wanted. He thought, upset by the outcome. But then he thought. I'll just own it. Declare my sexuality to everyone and my feelings for Will, at the same time.
The entire pavilion was silent and he stood up, clearing his throat. Then he was silent for a bit, before he started talking. He was defensive at first, "I know I haven't been around much, and I know you all talk about me..." He just started rambling, expecting every kind of criticism. then, "I'm gay, I'm sick of hiding the truth and I really like Will Solace, and I want to go on a date with him." He finished and there was a beat of silence before Will said.
"You didn't have to throw a party, I would have said yes if you had just asked. But yes. I will go on a date with you."
Nico felt like he could take on any of their previous foes. He said yes! He said Yes! His brain was going nuts.
Some of the campers were silent, while others, Will's siblings Kayla and Austin included, Cheered.
Will hugged him, and Nico hugged back. He was happy Will had agreed to go out with him. Hi couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the night.
