When Sid woke up she immediately realized that yesterday wasn't a dream
she had gotten sent back to the past to a land with creatures she never heard of and two subway conductors as guides? Allies? She had no clue
"all I wanted was to find Lincoln not go through this." Sid said to herself
she went to see captain cyllene
when she got there she saw Ingo and emmet wearing the same thing as yesterday but with a galaxy team pin on it
"hello there miss Chang." Ingo said
"you don't have to be so formal." Sid said "just call me Sid."
"I am emmet we are going to be accompanying you during your test." Emmet said
"well that's nice." Sid said
"well first you need to get a partner Pokemon." Akari said as she and Zane approached "without one you might find this challenge particularly trying."
"yeah." Zane said
"captain cyllene Sid is here!" Akari said
"you may enter." Cyllene said
they entered
"let's get straight into it." Cyllene said "if you wish to join the galaxy expedition team you must prove yourself by going out into the obsidian fieldlands and catching three different species of pokemon bidoof, starly, and shinx."
"catching 3 pokemon from the start? No one in the galaxy team has ever managed that." Akari said
"didn't this stranger show catching abilities on par with some of our best?" Cyllene asked "my trial should be simple enough for her if the professor wasn't exaggerating things that is."
"and judging by the skill of those two I'd say he isn't." Zane said pointing at Ingo and emmet
"the galaxy team does not have the means to provide for those who only take without giving." Cyllene said "if you wish to stay you must prove beyond any doubt you will be an asset to our cause."
"and that means?" Sid asked
"if you fail you will be sent out to die in the wilds." Zane said
"oh so no pressure." Sid said sarcastically
"I will lend you one of our survey corp satchels to carry whatever you may need out in the field." Cyllene said before handing Sid a satchel which she put on
"akari, zane." Cyllene said addressing the two survey corp members "I'll expect you two to step in if anything goes awry."
"can we join too?" Emmet asked
"I don't see why not." Cyllene said
then professor laventon entered the room
"pardon, Sid come with me for a moment." Professor laventon said
the group followed professor laventon
"now then a jolly good morning to everyone!" Professor laventon said
"is something the matter professor?" Akari asked
"in order to complete our pokedex and well simply survive In this unforgiving land..." professor laventon said "Sid must pass this trial, and as a professor of Pokémon I got just the ticket to help accomplish that!"
professor laventon sent out cyndaquill oshawott and rowlet
"with a Pokemon partner you will be able to fight off wild pokemon outside of the village!" Professor laventon said "these little darlings are very dear to me but it's plain to see they're curious about you!"
"ooh your first pokemon verrry exciting!" Emmet said
"well then go on and choose!" Professor laventon said
Sid thought it over for a moment
"I choose cyndaquill." Sid said pointing at the fire type
"verrry good choice." Emmet said
"I take it you won't need more pokemon?" Professor laventon asked Ingo and emmet
"nonsense me and emmet would be more than happy to take the other two!" Ingo said
"o-oh okay take your pick then." Professor laventon said not expecting that response
Ingo picked oshawott while emmet got rowlet
"a word of advice you three make sure you pay attention to which pokeballs are empty and which aren't when you're in the field." Professor laventon said "by the way what pokemon did captain cyllene ask you to catch?"
"a bidoof a starly and a shinx." Sid said (whatever those are)
"well that's smashing! all three of those species can be found in the obsidian fieldlands." Professor laventon said "let me give you some pokeballs to help with the trial."
professor laventon gave Sid some pokeballs
"these pokeballs may be hand crafted but they work as a treat as you have already seen." Professor laventon said "you'll have this trial cleared in no time!"
"I guess you're ready to do the trial." Akari said "come on let's go!"
they exited and began to walk to the gate when a blonde man with a large backpack stopped them
"oh what a curious getup you 3 have I can already tell you are interesting characters." The man said
"hello Volo I'm surprised you're here considering I didn't say Bloody Mary 3 times." Zane said
"I'm surprised you're here too Zane. but if you're here then who's guarding darkrai?" The man, now known as Volo said
"alright that's enough you two." Akari said
"my apologies." Volo said "I am volo of the ginkgo guild, the go to choice for any of your mercantile needs here in hisui!"
"and he's an asshole." Zane said
"I've heard talk of you 3 you fell from the sky didn't you? Now that's a tale I would like to hear." volo said ignoring Zane's comment "and you have a Pokemon you're certainly full of surprises!"
"uhh thanks?" Sid said
"investigating the odd and novel is the key to any good merchant's success! So what do you say?" Volo said "how about you and I see how our Pokémon stack against each other in battle?"
"sounds good." Sid said
"I like you better and better! What a delightful find!" Volo said "I've also heard about this trial you're to attempt, let's have a quick battle to get your blood pumping before you head out!"
"alright then!" Sid said
meanwhile
Lincoln was chilling in lady sneasler's cave
"I'm bored." Lincoln said "I'm gonna go to the obsidian fieldlands you wanna come?"
"(I'm good you go on ahead.)" lady sneasler said
"alright then see ya." Lincoln said before leaving
"(don't die!)" lady sneasler said
"we both know that me dying is impossible!" Lincoln said back
back with Sid
Sid had defeated volo's togepi
"it's always good fun to have your pokemon do battle, don't you think?" Volo asked
"yeah it was fun!" Sid said while thinking (I could get used to that level of excitement.)
"and as thanks for that incredible battle have some potions my sky fallen friend." Volo said before handing her some potions "those heal a Pokémon's wounds."
"thanks!" Sid said
"you're welcome." Volo said "I must going now."
"bye volo!" Sid said
(so arceus finally reacted and brought heros) Volo thought to himself (perfect they shall gather the plates for me and the world will be remade.)
after volo left sid and the rest of the group went to the obsidian fieldlands
"welcome to the obsidian fieldlands!" Akari said
"wow look at this place!" Sid said
Ingo then noticed a bidoof
"miss Sid look a bidoof!" Ingo said
"oh right!" Sid said before throwing a pokeball
the bidoof got hit and went into the ball
after a few shakes the bidoof was caught
"bravo excellent!" Ingo said
"one down two to go!" Emmet said
"look there's a starly over there." Zane said "be very careful they're very skittish and will likely flee."
"got it." Sid said "actually let me give something a try."
she made a bird like call and the starly immediately flew over and landed on her shoulder
akari's and Zane's jaws dropped in shock
"hey little guy." Sid said "wanna come with? I promise you'll get lots of treats!"
the starly nodded and immediately touched the pokeball Sid was holding and went in
"what the fuck." Zane said "how did you even do that?"
"back home I mimic noises of other creatures." Sid said being purposely vague to avoid confusion
"I see." Zane said not fully believing her
"next up is shinx." Akari said "be careful they are aggressive and one wrong move could be the end of your life."
they kept walking before ingo noticed a giant shinx with glowing red eyes
"look it's a shinx." Ingo said
"let's not catch that one." Zane said trying to sneak away
but Sid went forward and picked the shinx up by the scruff making it freeze in place unable to attack
"but he's a little guy!" Sid said cuddling the shinx
almost immediately the shinx's eyes stopped glowing red and it just looked confused at the affection Sid was giving it
"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF?!?" Zane yelled
"you have an alpha luxray Zane." Akari said
"yes but the difference is I had help from the warden of the highlands to take it down." Zane argued "she just waltzed in and picked it up!"
"yes but he's a little guy!" Sid said "are you a little guy?"
the shinx confused at this human slowly nodded
"see even he knows it!" Sid said
"that's not-" Zane began
"do you want to come with I'll give you lots of love!" Sid said
the shinx slowly nodded still confused
"sweet!" Sid said lightly tapping the shinx's head with a pokeball
after a few shakes the shinx was caught
"I got my last Pokemon!" Sid said grabbing shinx's pokeball "now let's go tell captain cyllene."
"I am emmet me and Ingo are going to explore the area." Emmet said
"alright try not to die." Zane said "meet us in jubilife village when you're done."
Ingo and emmet left to explore
they were so fascinated by the old sinnoh region that they didn't notice an alpha rapidash had decided to attack them
luckily Ingo noticed just In the Nick of time
"emmet look out!" Ingo said
"huh!?" Emmet said before dodging a hyper beam
however he dodged imperfectly and was on the ground with the alpha rapidash above him about to finish him off
just then a large shiny gliscor slashed at the rapidash's face allowing Ingo to pull emmet out of there
"are you ok emmet?" Ingo asked
"I am emmet I almost fucking died!" Emmet said out of breath
"you two alright?" Someone asked
they turned and saw a white haired boy the presumably the trainer of the gliscor
"yes our cabins are not damaged." Ingo said
"great." The boy said "I'm Lincoln the warden to lady sneasler and that is my gliscor: nibbles."
"I am emmet he is ingo." Emmet said
"I take you two are apart of the galaxy team?" Lincoln asked and the twins nodded "well then tell Zane I said hi."
nibbles slammed the ground causing a mini earthquake damaging the alpha rapidash
the alpha rapidash seeing no way to win fled
"you know Zane?" Ingo asked
"he's a friend." Lincoln said "see ya."
and with that Lincoln left
"well then." Ingo said "let's head back to the station."
so Lincoln has now met the subway bosses
Sid won't meet Lincoln again until the highlands like Akari/rei would with Ingo
