Neo originally wanted to be like Red. Silent and powerful as a Pokemon trainer.
He was told to be himself.
He wanted to be like the Legend, Ash Ketchum

He only had to be himself. That's it. His own technique and battle strategy. His own refined battle team and ideas.
Himself.
That's what he was now. His own person, ever since he was told to be himself for the last time.
Neo Blizzard, that's his name and his identity. He's here to take on the Masters 16.
Ah yes, the expansion brought most people into protests. However after the first rendition where a girl named Sky was successful in winning and claiming her title.
But this time, it's big time.
It's been set. The stage is set for 16 trainers.
And at the opening ceremony these trainers were to be revealed… who knew who they could be?
I mean one of them is Neo because of the plot. OBVIOUSLY.
Anyway
Neo's main Pokemon team consisted of a Glaceon which was his starter. Originally an Eevee, the two had built up a bond stronger than no other, Eevee had become a Glaceon when it found an ice stone pretty and it tapped it. The two had been inseparable since they were introduced to each other. 7 years folks. The nickname he gave it was Glacé finally.
And then came his Metagross. His by far strongest Pokemon. Originally a Beldum he had caught because his rival turned enemy Derek, decided that it wasn't strong enough and had left it to die in the sweltering sun. Neo had caught the Beldum and nicknamed it Cyberpunk. Training it to be the beast it was meant to be and it became a Metang and eventually a Metagross. One of the strongest on his team. This one could also Mega Evolve
Thirdly is his Garchomp. This heavy hitter of a Pokemon had been a gift from the Ferrum region champion Glenn. Originally a Gible which was gifted to a trainer with great Potential. Neo put it to good use and to make sure the Gible wasn't wasted like any random Pokemon. He treated the Gible well and like he did with any of his other Pokemon. It eventually turned into a Gabite and then a Garchomp, named Chompy because of a little biting accident that happened when it was a Gible.
Fourth, came his Greninja, Frogue the Greninja, rolls of the tongue quite well doesn't it? The Greninja was actually a Frogadier that Neo found in the wild and caught it. The Pokemon didn't mind though! He was treated with great care and love. And eventually became a beast in Greninja. Its speed was maxed to perfection and Neo couldn't be more proud or happier
Fifth was Charizard. A typical on anyone's team, but this one had a special bond with Neo. After following him around for a long time. He trusted the trainer enough to let himself be caught. It's still a mystery to Neo how Shatter, his Charizard hid so well for long...
Neo's final Pokemon was a Gardevoir. Initially shy to join Neo's team. But eventually gave in due to Neo's pure kindness and care that she sensed in him. She hasn't been with Neo for so long, but she's been with him long enough to be considered one of Neo's strongest pokemon.
All 6 of these pokemon had unique stories, but all were united under one goal.
To win for Neo. He had given them homes and friends to care for. So now they could repay the favor. Winning for Neo.
But why did Neo want to win so badly
To make a name for himself. He's his own person yeah, but making a name for yourself is so much better isn't it?
It was time. To show the world who Neo Blizzard is. To show why he's feared in Alola. To see how he'll make a name for himself.
The opening ceremony occurred on a night of a full moon. The beauty of the stars lighting the sky and the bright Moon shining above the stadium.
President Goodshow, Champions Leon, Ash and Sky stood on the stage. Looking at the audience with a massive screen behind them.
"Welcome Everyone! To the second year of the Masters 16!" President Goodshow exclaimed "I'd like to have Champions Leon, Ash and Sky on the stage here for words to give the competitors before we begin."
"Welcome everyone! To the second year of this competition! First off I'd like to give a congratulations to Sky here for being the first to win it!" Leon exclaimed as the crowd gave a round of applause and cheers for Sky "I'd like to do the honors of unveiling the first Competitor…"
The other three on stage nodded
"PLEASE WELCOME TO THE STAGE… THE SINNOH CHAMPION, THE LADY WE ALL WISH TO STEP ON US, THE LADY HERSELF, CHAMPION CYNTHIA" Leon shouted
The Sinnoh Champion herself, was raised up on a platform onto the stage. Clad in her black outfit with her blonde hair flowing down while covering one eye. Her famous Garchomp stood at her side.
A giant cheer went up from the crowd as the Champion rose up on the platform.
Sky snatched the microphone from Leon and shouted "ALRIGHT FOLKS! Please welcome to the stage, The Champion of the Kalos Region… His Mega Charizard X has brought pokemon to faint in almost one hit. He's known as the Master of Mega Evolution, IT'S ALAIN"
DAMMIT WHY THE SHOUTING AGAIN
Anyway, Alain was brought up to the stage on a platform. Rising up to the same level as Cynthia was. His Charizard on the Platform with him
Alain had become Kalos Champion just recently, beating Diantha in a clash of titans and Mega Evolution. Alain's Charizard had proven too much for Diantha's Gardevoir to handle.
"Alright enough from those two" Ash snatched the microphone from Sky "I'd like to introduce one of the most experienced Champions of this generation… It's the most Handsome man according to many, His father is the owner of the Devon Corporation… IT'S STEVEN" he shouted
The man himself rose up on a Platform with his Metagross beside him. His Silver hair gleaming in the night sky, his suit smoothened out. He looked fancy indeed. But also ready for battle.
Goodshow took the Microphone from Ash and this time he didn't scream
"I'd like to welcome to the Stage, a new champion, someone who's been rising through the ranks silently. He's become quite a sensation recently. The one who became Alola Champion… NEO" Goodshow announced
The boy, aged 19 with blue hair and glasses, rose up on a Platform, his Glaceon by far the smallest pokemon within the group, but it stood beside him proudly. He stared out at the crowd with a small smile. His outfit showed his eccentricness.
"And now I'd like to welcome The Galar Region's own… HOP" Goodshow exclaimed
The boy with light purple hair, but still dark. Leon look-alike, but with a blue fluffy hoodie unzipped, black shirt underneath and black pants. He looked ready to take on the world. His Zamazenta standing at his side.
Timeskip to the last personcause the author was too tired and lazy to write the rest of the intros
"And Now i'd like for us to welcome one of the strongest trainers in the world! It's an honor for them to even compete here… It's GREEN" Goodshow announced
The man stood on the platform with his Blastoise at his side. His hair spiked up and his black shirt flowed in the wind. His khakis somehow looked good with that outfit and he didn't even look fancy.
"With all 16 Competitors… LET THE BATTLES BEGIN!" Goodshow announced
The massive screen rolled 8 different pairs. And it all of a sudden stopped
One face on every card.

The fifth pair was revealed

Yes some of these people actually made it! And with hard work at that. They all were ready.
Neo clenched his fist when he saw his name facing Derek's
Derek had been Neo's friend for so long… However, the two were now great enemies.
Derek was originally Neo's friend, however he agreed with Team Rocket and other team's ways. Neo didn't like that. He'd try to avoid Derek as much as possible once he had that information.
However the final straw was when Neo found Derek was abusing his Pokémon. Something dark and vile.
Neo swore to destroy Derek in every way possible. And somehow Derek had made it to the top.
Neo wouldn't tolerate such things. So now, he vowed to knock Derek down and humiliate him in this competition.
All the while Derek had a smirk on his face…
Neo would destroy Derek… even if it takes everything.
