The next day Ruby and Chelsea returned to the island to have their first official meeting to discuss ways to try and bring peace between the mermaids and krakens. The two first talked about trying to pass the idea of peace among their respected people listing all the benefits of the krakens and mermaids working together, but then they realized their people, especially their families wouldn't be too open to the idea. They then came up with the idea of waiting to take the thrones of their kingdoms and using their authority as rulers to declare peace between the mermaids and krakens, but then they realized their people and their families would just overrule the degree and have Ruby and Chelsea removed from their positions and either have them locked in a dungeon or banished.

"Man this is a lot harder then I thought." Muttered Rubby.

"Maybe we should try some kind of gesture or do some kind of amazing feat that could only be accomplished through the teamwork of a mermaid and a kraken." Suggested Chelsea.

"What kind of feat would get the attention of our people and show them that there can be peace between us?" Asked Ruby.

"We...could find a monster with a reputation that has attacked and plagued both our kingdoms and beat it." Said Chelsea.

"That might work, though it would take a big monster to do that. What about fighting and beating Monstro?" Said Ruby.

"The Devil Whale?" Asked Chelsea.

Monstro was a massive black whale with sharp teeth that had plagued the sea for a very long time, both Ruby and Chelsea had heard stories of the monster and how it would devour entire schools of fish and other sea creatures, including other whales in one bite.

"Yeah...you know what that's a terrible idea. Maybe we should try something smaller." Said Ruby.

"Yeah something smaller. Hey how much fighting experience do you have any way?" Said Chelsea.

"None really. I know how to use my powers, but I've never really been in a fight." Said Ruby.

"Neither have I. So I guess we should take fighting a sea monster off the table." Said Chelsea.

The two princesses thought about what to do next.

"We could try finding the heart." Said Ruby.

"We could, but no one has seen it or Maui in a thousand years. Our people, ancestors, and families have searched for both and haven't found either." Said Chelsea.

"Yeah, but they were also very focused on fighting each other. The difference between them and us is that we're friends and are willing to work together." Said Ruby.

"That is true, but the world is a big place, we really wouldn't know where to start looking, plus neither of us know where to return the heart once we found it." Said Chelsea.

"True, but maybe there's some records about where the heart needs to be returned, in our family's palaces." Said Ruby.

"That might attract some unwanted attention." Said Chelsea.

"That is true." Said Ruby looking a little defeated.

"Hey it was a good idea. We just have to think these things through a little more to make sure things work out." Said Chelsea trying to cheer Ruby up.

"You're right. I guess it is a little silly to think the two of us could find the heart and bring balance to the world." Said Ruby.

"I mean the whole war between our people started with the theft of the heart, so finding the heart and returning it would bring peace." Said Chelsea.

"Yeah, but you were right about us not knowing where to start looking. The heart could be anywhere and it's not like it's going to just wash up on the shore here." Said Ruby indicating the beach.

"We could wish for it." Said Chelsea.

"What do you mean?" Asked Ruby.

"Well I made a wish to meet a kraken and then I meet you soon after. So let's give wishing a little try." Said Chelsea.

"Guess it couldn't hurt." Said Ruby.

The two princess stood and faced the ocean as they made a wish together.

"We wish to find the heart."

Nothing happened, but neither Ruby nor Chelsea were deterred by this and chose to be optimistic about the future. Ruby and Chelsea said goodbye to each other as they went their separate ways, unaware that something had heard the wish they had made and was in the works of making that wish come true in a unusual way that neither Ruby nor Chelsea could predict.

To be continued.
