The next morning I felt well enough to go to class. Dragedge and Victor left before I did. Who knew teaching for just over a month would be this rewarding so far. I made my way to the room. Stein and Dragedge were already there.
"What are you two doing here?" I asked, getting myself together.
"I wanted to make sure you were ok." Dragedge responded.
"I got bored." Stein said.
"That sounds about right for you. And I am feeling somewhat better. Still not fully myself but definitely better than the last few days." I responded.
We laughed as students started coming in.
"I should go." Stein said, rolling his chair out of the room.
I nodded. Dragedge decided to stay behind. I got some concerned looks from a few students.
"Are you ok?" Zena asked.
"I am not feeling too well but I will be fine. Thank you for asking." I responded.
"You're welcome. I also wanted to give you a warning. My sister starts teaching today." She said sheepishly.
Dragedge and I sighed.
"Thank you for the heads up." I smiled.
She smiled and walked over to her seat.
"I will start as I normally do. Do you have any questions?" I said taking a seat in the front of the class.
A young girl raised her hand. I nodded in her direction.
"Can you tell us about your weapon partner?" She asked.
I smiled.
"He is smart, funny, and kind. He has the ability to use calming aura.. It saved our butts a few times. His weapon form is a bow that fires specialized arrows, like how Liz and Patty fire bullets made of kids soul wavelength, his arrows are the same. But he can also fire arrows made of my madness. He has different forms that fire different types of arrows like ice, fire, stone, ect." I started.
"I think it saved our butts more than a few times."I heard someone say, laughing a little.
Everyone turned their heads to see a man with light green hair just past his ears, with sky blue eyes framed with glasses. Wearing a white button up shirt with a red tie and black dress pants and black shoes. Also wearing a necklace of a black rose. I sat stunned for a few seconds. Dragedge smiled.
"Hello Grim, Dragedge. It's good to see you both. I missed you guys." He said.
"Hatori! What are you doing here?" I exclaimed, slowly getting up.
He started walking closer.
"I missed you. I am finally done with my assignment." He said, pulling me in for a hug.
"I missed you too." I said.
After a few seconds I turned to the class.
"This is Hatori, my weapon partner." I introduced him.
He smiled and waved.
"Hello kids, it's nice to meet you. I hope you all have been good for her." he joked.
"When did you get back?" Kid asked.
"And why are you here?" I asked.
"It's good to see you too Kid. You have gotten bigger. I got back a few weeks ago." He started before being interrupted by a disturbance in the doorway.
"Dragedge my wonderful I am back. And Grimoire." She started.
I looked and was instantly mad.
"Audra, why are you here?" I asked.
"I don't care about you and don't have to answer you. I am still trying to figure out how you became a teacher and why such wonderful men want to spend time with you. You both should come over sometime. My friends and I are much better than her." She continued as her friend stood behind her both with a gleam in their eyes.
"Not going to happen." Both muttered in unison.
I laughed. Dragedge moved in between Audra and I. Hatori did the same. She shot daggers at me.
"Sis, please stop." Zena asked.
"Stay out of this Zena. You both are single arent you? And weapons why don't we try…"She continued.
Before Dragedge could say anything, Victor hearing the commotion, concocted a plan, came in holding a lunch box.
"Here babe I made lunch for you." He teased Dragedge, giving him a peck on the cheek and walked away.
I couldn't hold back laughing and Dragedge was stunned and froze.
After a brief pause of confusion.
"I am sure we can change that. What about you?" She asked, eyeing Hatori.
"Not going to happen." He replied in a dark voice.
I noticed Kid smirking a little. Noire started to get up. Audra went to say something but was interrupted by Stein.
"There you are, Audra, you are going to be late for your class. It's down this hallway." He said pointing to the opposite side of the school. I mouthed thank you to Stein.
"Fine. this is not over." She sneered walking out the door.
I sighed, and Dragedge was a statue. I walked over and poked him. He came out of his confused state.
"Did that just happen?" He asked.
"Yes. Now are you staying here or going to the library?" I inquired.
"Or seeing whoever that was." Hatori joked.
I sighed.
"I was not expecting to see her." Hatori commented.
"I am sorry about her." Zena apologized.
"No need to apologize, you can't control your sister." I responded.
"We should get started. It is lore day." I continued.
"I am going to go to the library and stare at books and try to sort my mind." Dragedge stammered.
He turned to walk out the door but instead walked into my father.
"How are things going here Grimmy?" He asked..
"Good except for Audra." I answered.
"That is why I put her on the other side of the school. I am glad Hatori found the room ok." He started.
"Yes. I was definitely not expecting the welcome I had." Hatori added.
"Hatori has been brought on as your helper. He is the best choice given your friendship." My father continued.
"I have no problem with this at all." I smiled.
"I will see you later dear, come to my office during lunch." He said poofing away.
I rubbed my temples.
"Let's get to the lesson." I said, turning to the class.
"Does anyone know why this is called the new world?" I asked.
Maka raised her hand.
"It's because the old world was destroyed and this world was made by shinra including lord death himself." She continued.
"That's correct." I said writing a few things on the board before getting dizzy and losing my balance.
"Maybe you should write on the board for me Hatori so I can sit down." I moaned.
He nodded.
We continued the lesson for the remainder of class with Black Star interrupting every now and then. After the bell rang the students went to lunch. Hatori and I went to my fathers office.
"Can I eat while we are here?" I asked sitting down.
"Of course. Hatori, will you get Dragedge and the kids for me?" He asked.
He nodded and went to the library and cafeteria to get them.
"We found where the kishin is located." He said a little more seriously.
"Where?" I asked.
"Near where Atlantis used to be. That is the reason you and Dragedge are going to lead this mission. You two know the area better than anyone else." He continued.
"That makes sense. Can we also bring Victor with us? His healing magic might come in handy." I suggested.
"That is not a terrible idea," He agreed.
"I wanted to let you know first."
The others came in.
"We found the location of the kishin. It's near the area where Atlantis used to be. Dragedge and Grim will lead the group for this mission. You will leave tomorrow morning. Make sure to have the appropriate ids and gear with you. And good luck." He announced.
We nodded and went on with the rest of the day.
"Hey Hatori where have you been staying?" I asked.
"Right now at a hotel," He answered.
"Why don't you come stay with Dragedge, Victor and I? Dragedge and I own a house." I suggested.
"Why not. I get to save money and be close to you. Win win in my book." He answered.
I laughed. We walked over to the library to grab Dragedge. Victor was already with him.
"You all set?" I asked, leaning on a chair.
"Yup, let's head home. I don't want to see any more books for a while." He responded.
"Hatori is going to be staying with us by the way." I said.
"That's fine. I figured he would anyway."
'Love birds.' He whispered to me.
I flicked him jokingly.
"Ow" He said, flicking me back.
"You two still act like siblings." Hatori said laughing.
"He is one of my oldest friends. He might as well be at this point." I said laughing.
"You two have always been like this?" Victor asked.
"Yes." We answered in unison.
"If you want to know more ask Stein, Spirit, or Sid. They will have more stories to tell you." I added, coughing a little.
"You must be Hatori. I am Victor, their current house mate. I have heard a lot about you. It is nice to meet you." Victor said, holding out a hand.
"Good things I hope. Nice to meet you too." Hatori responded by shaking his hand.
We walked to the hotel to help Hatori get a few things and headed home.
