Chapter 4 (Ascension): Madness and Truth
Junior High
Alexia was just standing in shock at what she had just done as she then stared at her hands shaking and terrified.
Leo stunned face almost made him look like a goldfish with how he was looking. If someone told him earlier today, he would see his sister somehow become super strong, gain powers that you would be more likely to see in a comic book and she would both apparently cause an earthquake and destroy a decent portion of the toilets along with the walls then he would be asking what drugs they were they taking. But seeing what had just occurred happened meant that he couldn't deny it.
Cortana's systems were working overtime to process what had just happened. By all accounts and purpose this was impossible but somehow Alexia was making the impossible, possible and if it wasn't for her older brother programmed her with codes and programming that even Tony Stark would be proud of then she would be convinced that this whole thing would cause her systems to overload and explode.
Leo was about to try and reach out to Alexia but apparently this whole situation became too much for her.
Alexia screamed which caused the whole earthquake to come back but this time to come back twice as strong as it did back when it originally started which immediately knocked Leo of his feet.
"Impossible, the earthquake went from 3.2 to 6.3, almost double what it was previously on the magnitude scale!" Cortana warned both siblings, "We need to leave immediately!"
Alexia wasn't paying any kind of attention as since her mind was panicking so much that she immediately while screaming ran right into the door with her ramming the door down almost like a wrecking ball before with speed that almost made Alexia seem like a race car ran out of the toilets and was just running randomly towards the right leaving not only her stuff but also leaving behind both Cortana and Leo.
"ALEXIA!" Leo and Cortana shouted out to her in concern for his older sister / her creators younger sister as Leo managed to get back on his feet but was struggling to keep on his feet.
But he didn't just call out for the concern of his sister it was also for another reason.
That reason being that he could see that while Alexia was running it looked like she was causing damage not just to the floor being destroyed and not only that but anything that was near her.
Leo quickly grabbed Alexia's phone which had Cortana on it.
Leo saw that everyone was running out of classrooms with them trying to get out of the school and the reason why they probably didn't see Alexia was just moving so fast in speed that Leo didn't though was possible.
Hell the reason why Leo knew which way she was going was the trail of destruction that he saw on the ground which he knew was where his sister was going.
"So when did this whole mess started happening?" Leo asked Cortana.
"It started not too long after she woke up this morning when she accidently ripped her bedroom door off its hinges one handed." Cortana informed Leo.
This shocked Leo slightly, "And you let her go to school when she did that!?" Leo though he loved his sister knew that with this whole situation of her having these powers wouldn't be handling this situation well.
"We thought that if I was there to help keep her calm and provide support then maybe it could keep Alexia's powers under control." Cortana explained with worry about this somewhat being her fault.
"Has it got anywhere near this bad during the day?" Leo asked.
"No, the worst that it got was when she accidentally broke her pen or when she nearly accidentally blasted a student." Cortana answered.
Leo eyes went wide at the last part to the point where if he hadn't caught a piece of the roof falling where he was it probably would have crushed him, but he did and manged to dodged just in time.
Just as he did, he asked the question that was on his mind, "She nearly blasted someone!?"
"He was making fun of her and being a dick. Honestly, I was tempted to let her blast through a wall of something." Cortana said almost a typical moody teenager.
Leo decided to ignore this but knew he wouldn't be able to calm Alexia down himself…. and he knew what might be able to calm her down.
"Cortana contact Carlos hopefully he can calm Alexia down." Leo told Cortana.
"Already down. Carlos happened to be near the school since he was going to the stores to buy some equipment for some devices that he was building." Cortana told him since she contact her creator about the whole situation.
'Well this is going to be fun to explain to Carlos.' Leo thought to himself as he was still trying to dodge everything that was coming falling down towards where he was.
Alexia meanwhile was just running and running with no aim in sight or any clue where she was going.
When she saw what looked to be the storage room Alexia literally forced to door open, nearly ripping the door of its hinges like she did earlier in her bedroom but thankfully managed to keep it together.
Alexia could hear her little brother and Cortana following her and she could hear her brother's thoughts and it was causing her to panic even more.
'No please don't come in Leo! It's dangerous!' Alexia thought terrify.
As if following the commands of Alexia's thoughts, the dark purple venom like tendrils that formed on Alexia's vein which were coloured like the venom tendrils which the launched themselves towards the door and formed some kind of barrier which blocked the door making it impossible for anyone to enter.
This shocked and terrified Alexia which caused her to scream which in the room she was in caused the room's equipment to get hit by Alexia's power causing them to either be completely destroyed or to lifted up in the air by some sort of purple energy that was coming out of Alexia.
Along with that the earthquakes were getting stronger.
Alexia was now curdled herself into ball and was on the verge of having a full-on panic attack.
Leo when he was close to where his sister was, felt the earthquakes become worst since it nearly knocked him off his feet.
"This becoming worst and worst by the second!" Cortana warned him.
"Really, I thought it was getting better?" Leo replied sarcastically.
Meanwhile on the driveway towards Junior High
Carlos was currently in his red Honda car, driving his way towards his younger brother and sister's junior high school which was becoming more and more of a struggle because of these dammed quakes that was causing massive amount of danged to the whole area.
When these quakes started happening it was mostly around the school and the houses close to it but now? It looked like it was affecting the entire city, and it was getting worst by the second.
When Cortana contacted him on the phone, he was first annoyed at her for deciding to go to school with Alexia without his permission (Which he would probably still have said no) but that went out of the window when she told him what was going on with Alexia.
At first when he was told by Cortana that apparently Alexia had ripped the door of its hinges and was holding it up by one handed or that apparently Alexia had some kind of energy blast that came out of her hands that blasted her into her rooms celling like she was Iron man or something.
When Carlos heard all of this, he wondered what had happened to Cortana's systems and wondering what kind of repairs was he going to need to do to it.
That was until Cortana showed him the footage and to say he was shocked was an understatement.
So when he found out that Alexia's powers were going out of control and that she was causing this earthquake because of the whole thing, he immediately rushed into his car and made his way over to the school.
And with the speed he was going at, if it wasn't for the case that most of the police were probably focusing on helping the people inside the Guadalajara then he would probably be in a lot of trouble for speeding.
The only reason why he hasn't crashed yet is because when he was someone who spent a lot of time in illegal car races when he was a bit younger and a bit more reckless.
When he parked the car outside of the school but making sure it was were the teachers and any of member of staff couldn't see him overwise he would have to be given a lot of questions to answer.
Carlos then began sneaking into the school while trying to avoid the falling buildings that were in risk of hitting him as he entered through the backway.
'Just hold on a little longer you two, I'm on my way!' Carlos vowed to himself in his thoughts.
Meanwhile with the others
Leo was trying his best to open the door to the storage room but some sort of purple like energy was formed preventing him from opening door and getting to his sister.
"Cortana what the hell is this?" Leo asked Cortana who was still on Alexia's phone.
"It would appear that this purple energy that's preventing us from entering the storage room most likely coming from Alexia." Cortana analysis.
"I can figure that! I meant how do we get through it?" Leo retorted in an annoyed and worried tone.
"Oh I'm sorry, it's not that I'm not used to dealing with someone using powers that SHOULDN'T EVEN BE POSSIBLE!" Cortana shouted back as she was just as confused when it came to this whole situation.
Leo then blinked and sigh knowing that was true.
While inside of the storage room, Alexia was currently curled up in a ball swinging back and forth with her crying.
What was this?
Why was this happening to her?
And she couldn't she stop this!?
Every time Alexia tried to find a way to get her powers back under control, but nothing was working every time she tried it just made everything worst as her body just suddenly blast a huge amount of power out of it which sends everything flying and make these quakes worst. If it wasn't to her powers keeping some sort of barrier not just on the door but the entire room, then it probably would have caused the room to collapsed on her.
'… Though would that be such a bad thing?' She sometimes thought to herself.
While rocking back and forth, Alexia's hands came into contact with things that they weren't supposed to.
Alexia's hands came into contact with some wires that came lose and where connected to electrical box that was near her. Soon Alexia felt a wired feeling entering her body and it was hard for her to describe what it was until she turned and saw what it was…
Alexia saw her arms were now glowing an even darker amethyst purple and was somehow her arms looked like they were absorbing the electricity that was coming out of the box and she could tell that it was connected to the school as she saw that the lights in the room was blinking on and off repeatedly.
That's when it clicked…
She was absorbing energy from the school's electricity.
She immediately tried to remove her arms from the wires but for some reason it was like her body refused.
'Or was it a case that I don't want to let go?' Alexia thought to herself as her tears filled eyes looked at the electricity going into her body with curiosity and clearly now that tears were no longer falling.
Alexia also wouldn't lie to herself when she said that part of her was enjoying the feeling of the power, she was gaining from absorbing the electricity.
Alexia's eyes then widen, 'No I can't be enjoying this! Being a FREAK!' Alexia thought trying to rid herself of those past feelings.
Alexia then felt power began to build up inside of her at a dramatic rate as her body began to glow more and more.
"Alexia it's me Leo! Can you open the door please!?" Alexia can hear Leo on the other side of the door.
'No Leo…' Alexia thought to herself in horror as she felt more power to generate inside of her to the point that it's becoming more and more uncomfortable for her. "LEO JUST GO!" Alexia shouted with tears one again were falling from her eyes.
She couldn't hurt her little brother.
"Not going to happen!" Leo shouted as Alexia could hear him begin to bang on the door which was blocked by the barrier her powers created.
"No Leo… please. You don't u-understand." Alexia sobbed out as she felt the power inside grow to point where she was worried that she might explode or something as her body was glowing more and more along with everything in the room also beginning to levitate.
Leo meanwhile was constantly barging into the door in order to open it, "Almost… Got…It!" Leo grunted out as he kept charging into the door.
Alexia was doing whatever she could to keep her power from exploding out of her but she struggling as it kept growing in her more and more, and she knew she couldn't keep it in much longer.
And that's when it happened, and she couldn't hold it in anymore.
Alexia let out a scream as a massive blast of purple energy blasted out of her as the quakes became even more powerful then they were before.
When Alexia finally released the energy that was building up in her, it sent a blast all other the building which sent Leo flying which knocked him into a nearby wall on his already injured ribs which caused him to spit out some blood. When Alexia's energy outburst occurred the half of the school which Carlos was in immediately began to collapse.
Carlos went wide eyes when he saw the building collapse, "HOLY SHIT!" He shouted out in shock as he began running almost Indiana Jones style away from the collapsing half of the building, "Well that doesn't happen every day." He said to himself looking back at the destroyed half of the school.
Meanwhile outside not just the school or even Guadalajara but the whole of the Jalisco region as the earthquakes were causing whole buildings to collapse, roads to crumble and tear apart and people running for their lives terrified for what's about to happen, one mother was holding her baby in her hands scared from what's happening until she saw a building which was going to collapse on top of her.
The purple energy that burst out of Alexia eventually simmered down and stopped which caused the earthquakes to return to how they were before she unleashed the power growing inside of her and her body returned back to the glow that it had in the toilets though she noticed the tendrils in her arms that barricaded the doors, now levitating multiple things in the room and the room as well as the school's lights also shut off and if it wasn't for her body still glowing a bit she would be struggling to see anything this room.
Before Alexia could even sigh in relief, she could feel her body begin to grow in power again.
"N-no p-ple… Please just s-stop." Alexia was pleading while crying her eyes out, She already had too much power, hell she didn't even want powers in the first place! But this power just keeps growing and becoming more powerful by the second.
She didn't know if she was praying to god or to her body, but she was just hoping for this madness to end.
Meanwhile outside with Leo who now had his school uniform ripped up and spitting out blood as he might have broken a rib or a few of them.
"Are you okay Leo?" Cortana asked him.
Leo let out a strained laugh, "Apart from feeling like I've been hit by a bus, I'm good." He said as he tried and failed to keep the pain out of his voice.
"Leo!" Leo turned and saw Carlos running him.
"Carlos! Bout time you got here." Leo grunted out as Carlos helped him out.
"You looked like shit. So what happened?" Carlos asked as he was trying to find somewhere to place his little brother but was struggling because of how the school was falling apart.
"I don't know. She grabbed me when I was on my way to class then she was acting weirdly, then she started bleeding blue. When I tried to calm her down but blasted me with some kind of purple energy which sent me flying. The rest… well I think you can see it for yourself." Leo explained.
"I see." Carlos responded as looked at the storage room door he could see the purple like barrier that was blocking anyone from getting in.
Carlos took a quick look over his shoulder at Leo, "Just wait here." He told his little brother as he walked up to the door which on the other side of it was his younger sister.
Carlos took some deep breaths as he knocked on the door.
Alexia meanwhile was just sobbing as she felt her power build up again until she heard, "Alex, its me Carlos."
Alexia looked up teary eyes in shock, "Car-Carlos wh-what are you d-doing h-here?" She stuttered out.
"Cortana showed me recordings of what was happening and asked me to come over to help." He replied.
Alexia's eyes almost widen in fear as she screamed out," N-No! Please Just Leave! I'M a-a freak! A monster!"
"No your not! From what I saw from the recordings, the only time when you powers act out of control was when you begin fearing. If you keep fearing it, the more worst it's going to get." Carlos tried to tell her.
"But I CAN'T control it! Everyone and everything around me at risk!" Alexia sobbed out.
Carlos was struggling to think of what might be able to calm Alexia when she get's like this and he knew he had to hurry otherwise this school was going to fall down on their heads.
Until he figured out something that might help.
"Alex remember what mom used to say back when you had that panic attack before a school play?" Carlos asked her.
Alexia was confused on why Carlos was asking her since she remembered that time since she was always very timid and hated being the centre of attention.
"Y-yeah why?" Alexia sobbingly asked as she felt her power building up and she was going to let another energy burst soon.
"I need you to do that for me. Just like how mum did." Carlos instructed her.
Alexia knew what her mother would tell her to do, think positively and taking deep breaths in and out.
But the problem was Alexia could tell that she was about to have an energy burst as her body was glowing more and that she struggling to keep her powers inside of her body from bursting out.
"I-I can't! P-please just g-go!" Alexia begged her older brother.
"Alex please just trust me!" Carlos said from the other side of the door.
Alexia realising that she had no other choice unless this whole situation continue the way that it is, "O-Okay I'll try." She shakily told him.
Alexia then began following her older brother's instructions of breath in and out slowly along with her trying to imagine happy things to further help which for her would be either in her room playing games and watching anime or her taking picture or filming the beach.
After she was doing this for just about a few minutes, the earthquakes began to become weaker and the all the equipment that levitating were beginning to lower back down closer to floor along with her body not glowing not nearly as much as it did previously.
Carlos feeling that earthquakes were not as strong as they were previously which Cortana confirmed the earthquakes were getting weaker.
"You doing good sis just keep going." Carlos instructed.
Alexia kept going and after five more minutes the whole earthquake then stopped and the barrier that was blocking anyone from opening the door to the storage room then disappeared.
Carlos seeing this opened the door and rushed in seeing Alexia with bloodshot eyes and dust all other both her dirty blonde hair and her cloths as she let out a strained smile as she then rushed over to her older brother who hugs her almost immediately as she buries herself in his chest as she starts sniffing a bit as she repeatedly apologise for what happened.
Alexia then turned and gasp as she saw Leo limping there way towards the both of them, clearly looking in awful condition.
Alexia teary eyed run towards Leo and hugged him as she gently as she could but with her new super strength it still managed to hurt him but decided to keep the pain in unless he wanted to upset her more.
"I-I'm so s-sorry!" Alexia said sobbing while hugging her little.
"It's okay. No damaged done." Leo responded with him trying to keep the pain out his voice.
Alexia continued to cry but apart from very small tremors nothing really happened.
Cortana who didn't want to interrupt the scene but knew it might be a good time to say something, "Hate to interrupt this beautiful moment but now might be a good time to leave before what's left of this school falls on our heads." Cortana told them from inside Alexia's phone.
Understanding that was true since they could see that what was left of the school that was still standing literally looked like it could fall any second now.
All three siblings decided that it would be a good time to get out of here.
Some time later
All three Rodríguez sibling was now inside of Carlos's car as they were currently driving on there way back home as Carlos was driving after him scolding Cortana for going against what he told her but at the same time thanking het for at least trying her best with helping Alexia during this whole situation.
Leo meanwhile had to have his ribs wrapped up in bandages that Carlos happened to have on him, and some cold drinks placed on them to help with the pain until they were able to get a doctor to go check on him to help.
Meanwhile if Leo was the worst physically then Alexia was the worst mentally. She looked completely emotionally drained and exhausted. If you told her that she would had gained powers that defied the laws of both physics and common sense that she would think that you were crazy. But after seeing everything that happened, gaining super strength, having speed that would make most professional track runners slow, getting sent flying and crashing to the roof and it not even tickling her, levitating things and the worst ones…
Having some sort of energy blasts come out of her or the fact that she can create earthquakes from out of nowhere that can shake and shatter entire regions.
Alexia was listening to the news on her brother's radio which detailed the whole earthquake, and it instantly made her feel even worst about herself.
Countless missing…
Hundreds, if not thousands injured…
And the worst of all, forty-eight people dead and still counting!
People that she killed!
Right now she felt like she was being crushed by the guilt of that, she never dreamed that one day she would be responsible for getting people killed and that it was done by her hands.
Alexia when she entered Carlos car, she asked Leo if he was alright which she knew was a stupid question, but she just want to make sure that he was okay. Leo said he was but Alexia's apparent powers to read people's mind and she heard from his mind that when she used that energy burst in the toilets which sent him flying into a wall and apparently when had that second one when she was in the storage rooms.
This made her feel even worst.
Right now obviously Carlos was having to drive to carefully back home because of the aftershock and obviously about the whole wreckage that was all other the place and the facts the last thing that they want to do is accidently drive in a part of the road that's about to collapse in on itself.
Alexia was not having as much trouble when it came to the mind reading as she was back when it went crazy back in school. Cortana theorised that it was because she was surrounded by so many people all at once which overloaded her psychology. Which made things better right now since the only voices she could hear right now was both her brothers.
After about thirty minutes of driving, the car finally showed up in the Rodríguez family's house which thankfully since it was on the outer parts of Guadalajara so even though there was some cracks but mostly did nothing.
After parking the car, the three cautiously made their way towards their home hoping that their family were alright and weren't hurt or worst.
Or in Alexia's case praying that she wasn't responsible for killing her own little siblings.
After entering and looking round the house you can tell that their was an earthquake because of how everything was everywhere and the amount of materials that were destroyed.
"Chicos, estamos en casa. (Guys we're home.)" Carlos called out as Alexia was busy holding up Leo who the adrenalin had ran out and looked almost out of it a bit.
After a bit of time, the three of them heard loud noise that was coming downstairs and then saw both James and Isabella running towards them with extremely relived looks on their faces.
"Hermanos mayores, hermana mayor, gracias a tres que estáis a salvo. (Big brother, big sister, thank god you three are safe.)" James said hugging Carlos while Isabella went and hugged Alexia but looked concerned at Leo who she could tell was injured.
"Cuando se produjo el terremoto, teníamos miedo de lo que os pudiera pasar a vosotros tres. (When the earthquake struck, we were scared about what was happening with you three.)" Isabella said but you could tell with the tone in her voice that she was on the verge of crying.
"Gracias por preocuparte, pero estamos bien, por suerte. (Thanks for being concerned but we're okay thankfully.)" Carlos said with a happy smile on his face to calm his little siblings down.
"Pero sin duda hemos visto días mejores. (But we've definitely seen better days.)" Alexia said in an exhausted tone.
Just before her younger siblings could ask what was wrong, they were interrupted by their father coming into the hallway with a relived look in his face but for some reason looked at Alexia with an extremely concerned look on his face which confused her.
He quickly go rid of the look on his face before he looked at everyone before saying, "Lo único que importa es que todos ustedes están a salvo y estoy agradecido por ello. (The only thing that matters is that all of you are safe and I'm thankful for that)", David said with a large amount of relief in his face.
David went over to tell the family was going to happen because of the whole earthquakes and how its's likely that schools along with potentially multiple jobs are going to be shut down because of the earthquakes until the government believe that it would be safe. So David told them what was going to happen now.
But Alexia wasn't paying attention to it.
Alexia was still able to listen to everyone's voices and thankfully unlike in school where she either heard comments about her which upset her or she would hear so many different voices in her head at the same time which would send her crazy.
And unknown to everyone in the room is that Alexia slightly cut her thumb to make sure that what she saw in the bathroom was real and when she saw the blood she knew for certain…
Her blood was blue!
But what really shocked that the cut on her thumb instantly regenerated like she was never cut in the first place.
Alexia then heard something that caught her suspicious about her father.
"It looks like it might be time to tell her the truth." Alexia heard David's thoughts.
'Tell me the truth?' Alexia thought confused to herself.
About an hour later
During the hour that after the three eldest Rodríguez sibling came back home from school from that whole earthquake disaster. During that time period Leo was given some pain killers and was given what treatment that David known since trying to get medical treatment during this whole difficult time period.
Alexia was struggling to relax because of what she had caused.
Leo had went to bed early because of his injuries and the twins also went to their bedroom.
This left Alexia, Carlos alone with their father.
The room was very awkwardly silent until David released the sighs and looked at Alexia.
"So you finally fully awakened those power, did you?" David asked though it felt more like him telling like it was a fact.
Both Carlos and Alexia looked at him at shock before trying to calm her expression.
"What do you mean powers? I don't have any powers!" Alexia said trying to hide the surprise in her voice.
David sighed annoyed with his daughter obviously lying to him, "Alexia, I'm not stupid."
"Dad, how would Alex get power? This isn't a video game or something like that." Carlos said to his father.
"I know she has it because of what her mother told me before she died and because of I've seen it since she was only a baby." David explained.
This shocked both of his eldest children, "What…?"
"Do you think those injections I gave you for the last thirteen years just because of some 'illness'?" David asked Alexia.
"Wait if I wasn't ill then why did you…?" Alexia asked confused.
David sighed, "I think it's time I tell you the truth about your family or more specifically your mother."
Alexia didn't know what to feel or say, she always wanted to know about her mother apart from the very little that her father had told her but at the same time after the events of today…
Carlos was also curious since every time he would ask his father about Alexia's birth parents, he would either refuse to tell or on bad days, tell him to mind his own business and that it didn't concern him.
David sighed before looking at the both of them or more towards Alexia, "Back when I was younger, I used to work as a politician, and I would work at a research warehouse just outside of Zapopan. I worked as a bridge between the government and the researchers that was working at the organisation at the time."
"Wait was this illegal research that they were doing?" Carlos interrupting his father, not wanting his father to have been involved in illegal activities or being a corrupt politician.
David shook his head, "No. It was just improving technology and other things like that." He responded.
This caused both Alexia and Carlos to be glad their father wasn't involved in any kind of illegal activities.
"I worked their for years until one day about thirteen years ago… We made a discovery that would change everything we ever knew forever…" David said ominously.
Flashback
Just outside Zapopan Jalisco Mexico 1997
A younger looking David who this time only had a moustache, and his hair was now chocolate brown hair. He also was wearing a very smart looking blazer and white button up shirt. He was also wearing some very smart looking glasses.
Right now he was walking towards the main room where all the technology, all of the higher up researchers as well as the place 'guest' were.
As he was walking down the corridor, he saw two of the guards that were keeping any intruders away from their main room where all this warehouse's main research was.
While looking at the two guards, in all honesty looked like they belonged in Man in Black or something.
"Sir!" One of the guards greeted.
The reason why they spoke in English rather than Spanish was because even though they were in Mexico, this was almost an international research team with multiple different nationalities in this place, so English was decided to be the best language to speak to each other.
Wanting to keep his business expression, he asked, "Anything that I need to know about this whole discovery?" He honestly just wanted to return home to his pregnant wife and young son who was about to become an older brother.
"Nothing that we've been told about, it's below our clearance. But…" David didn't like how the guard had just trailed off, "Recently Shield just showed up." The guard informed David who just put his forehead and messaged his head with his thumb and index finger.
David was annoyed that of course Shield had to involved itself in this whole thing. Not to say that he hated them because he understood why they were needed when it came to keeping world peace, but he still didn't mean that he like and trust them.
"Thank you. Now if you would excuse me." He said as he began walking down the corridor to the room where he was expected. While he was walking down the corridor, he heard comments about the whole thing concerning this whole research that was discovered but he didn't really have time to discuss things like that, so he continued to walk along until…
"Well, well, well look what the cat dragged in." He heard a familiar voice called out to him.
David smirked before turning around and saw the person who called out to him…
Nick Fury.
Nick was an African American who was a couple inches shorter then him but a few years older then him. Nick had very short black hair and he was wearing an eye patch over his left eye because according to him, because he trusted the wrong person and that cost him an eye…
David has a feeling that he wasn't telling the truth about that.
Fury was also wearing a similar kind of clothing to him, but he was wearing a black button up t shirt while he was wearing a white one.
"Oh, Fury, guess when I got told that Shield was here, looks like the guards were telling the truth. Either that or you here for free pizza." David said with a bit of humour in his voice.
Fury chuckled a bit before saying, "Sorry David but no pizza today." Fury expression then changed from a more serious one, "It has to do with this place's latest discovery and what it could potentially mean for the rest of humanity."
David chuckled humourlessly, "Must be serious if they brought you here and from what I could hear over high-ranking agents as well."
"Director's orders David. Nothing personal." Fury responded.
"I know." David said while scratching the back of his head, "Anyway, we should be making our way over." David said before both him and Fury began walking to their location.
Both David and Fury has had multiple different interactions with each other and in all honesty he actually liked Fury and the two would often go get a drink with one another after work but because of how serious the situation was, they both walked in silent till they reached the main laboratory.
And what David saw shocked him.
It looked like ship or more specifically an alien ship.
The technology that David could see on this ship though he wasn't an engineer, scientist or whatever but even he could tell that the technology would make Earth weapons look like a toy in comparison.
"Sir, I know what your thinking." One of the lead researchers came up and said to him.
"How is this…?" David trailed off as he looked at the ship in complete fear and awe.
"We discovered this late last night when we saw what we thought was a comet or something but when the smoke cleared, we found this ship." The lead researcher told him.
A thought then crept up David's mind, "And how do we know that this ship holding some kind of alien or something?"
"We don't that's why their here." The lead researcher said nodding his head towards Fury and the other Shield agents.
David looked at Fury, "So that's why you're here?" He asked a shock expression plastered on his face.
Fury nodded, "Since I have experience with something like this, that's why I've been placed in charge of this."
"Wait, this isn't the first time?" David asked confused.
"I'm afraid the detail of that is classified. I'm sorry David." Fury said in a neutral tone.
David was about to push on until a Shield agent came up to him, "Sir the Advance teams ready." She told him.
Fury then nodded before looking at both David and the researcher, "If you would both excuse me." He said before he began walking off to organise his team.
David couldn't help but hope that things don't go wrong.
About 10 minutes later
After a bit of tinkering with the ship's controls, they finally managed to get the ship to open.
"Advance team, move in, cautiously!" Fury ordered as about for agents entered the ship and began investigating.
David and the researchers on the other hand stayed back as they were observing the whole situation with the reserve team and Fury.
The plan was to have an Advance team investigate the inside and determine if the alien inside of it was a threat or not among other things before the researchers can come into the ship and research the technology.
The team went into the ship and began to investigate if there was any kind of Alien onboard and if there was, if they were hostile or not.
The tension inside of the room was silent and intense like everyone was expecting a one wrong movement, one wrong decision or one wrong noise would be all it would take for hell to break lose. And in all honesty David wouldn't be surprised if that would be all it took for hell to break lose.
Nervously watching the whole thing, after about five minutes one of the Advance team members came out and reported, "Sir, there's no life form inside the ship whatsoever."
Fury looked confused, "What do you mean, that there's no life forms on that ship?"
"As I said sir, we searched the ship and couldn't find any kind of life in it or even if it even had a passenger in the first place."
David then came towards them as he himself looked confused, "Then how did this ship get here? Did it run out of fuel or something?" He asked confused about this whole situation.
Fury then placed his thumb and index finger on his chin, "Somethings not adding up." Fury muttered.
As this was happening a Shield agent noticed what looked to be a blue stain on the ground and when he approached it, he could see multiple of it and growing curios about it, he decided to follow this trail.
As Fury, David and the researchers were discussing what this could all mean, Fury elected to give out new orders, "Check if there were any other ways that someone could exit that ship. I'm not taking any chances." Fury ordered.
Before the agents could go through with their new orders they heard what sounded like both a scream and some kind of lesser like shot as they all went towards the location of the sound and saw one of the Shield agents dead and the culprit.
It was a women who to say looked out of this would be an understatement as she had dark blue skin, purple eyes and had had very short dirty blonde hair. She was also wearing some kind of clothing that definitely not like anything he's even seen before with it almost having an amour kind of look to it. she was looking like she was holding something as she was cradling it to her chest.
But she was also holding something else…
Some kind of laser like gun which she fired at him.
Fury jumped right into David having them both dodge the attack.
The alien women then fired at one of the researchers killing them instantly.
"These bastards again!" David heard Fury mumbled angrily before he shouted at the agents that had also taken cover, "Return fire! Kill this alien bitch!"
So then a fire fight occurred between the Shields agents and this female blue skinned alien, while David and the other researchers were busy trying to stay out of the crossfire.
Another agent or two got killed by the Alien women while she herself got shot in the shoulder.
David heard a cry when she got shot but it wasn't the kind of cry that you would hear from a adult.
'Is that a baby crying?' David though confused to himself.
He didn't get to much time to question that since the Alien women then threw some sort of flash grenade towards them which immediately blinded them during that time the Alien women activated some kind of button on her wrist before trying to make her escape.
David when he finally got his sight back saw there was some kind of energy being built up inside the ship.
"Sir!" One of the researchers shouted at David, "The ships radiating extreme amounts of energy! It's going self-destruct!" He warned everyone.
"Shit!" Fury cursed before looking at David, "David you focus on getting everyone out, I'm making sure this bitch gets taken down!" Fury told David as he and fellow agents went in pursuit of the Alien women which wasn't hard because of the blue blood that was on the floor that left a trail.
David immediately rushed towards the alarm which immediately set of all other the entire facility which caused everyone to begin to have to run for their lives. David immediately began having to dodge everyone running like crazy for dear life.
When David finally managed to reach his car, he started driving like mad to try and escape the whole explosion….
Which was a lot larger in scale then he expected.
The explosion was almost similar to a smaller versions of an atomic bomb as everything that was even remotely close to facilities when it exploded was sent flying by the shockwaves from the blast which included David's car as he was sent flying.
Honestly it was a goddamn miracle that the explosion didn't kill him or at least badly injured him and destroyed his car as it was mostly okay with the exception that it was definitely needing to go to get his car repaired after he got back home.
When David got out and saw the damage, it definitely looked like the place got hit by an atomic bomb as the facilities and the nearby surviving area was completely destroyed.
David went wide eyed when he saw the damaged, "Holy shit!" He exclaimed in shock.
'Hopefully the others survived.' David thought hopeful to himself.
Meanwhile David hears something that caused his blood to still…
A baby crying!
'Please don't tell me that explosion caught an innocent family in the impact!' David thought franticly to himself.
David immediately began rushing to find out where the noise was coming from and to figure out if the baby and it's family was alright.
David rushed as he heard the baby's cry get louder and louder which showed that David was getting closer and closer to the source of the noise.
And when he get there, he was both shock and stun.
He saw that same Alien women that started that whole fire fight in the facility, but he could see that their were multiple bullet holes all over her body and David could tell that she wouldn't be alive much longer with the amount blue blood that was coming out of her.
But that wasn't what shocked him…
What did was that she had a baby!?
If it wasn't for the fact that the mother was an alien, then David would have assumed that the baby was a normal baby girl since the girl had a similar dirty blond hair and olive skin.
David was trying to move but accidently snap a twig which alerted the Allien women as she held her gun up and aimed it looking for the source of the noise.
"Whose there?" The women asked tiredly.
David knowing that he knew he had no other choice showed himself, "I'm unarmed!" David called out as he held his hands up to show he was no threat.
The women though didn't trust him but was struggling to hold up the gun because of her losing blood fast and knew with her wounds she wouldn't have long to live.
"And why should I trust, you wouldn't want to finish me off?" The women said in a tired tone while she was managing to calm her down which managed to work as her daughter calmed down.
David approached the women slowly, "I would have considered it originally" David started off but had to resit flinching when the women held her gun ready to shot him, "But I wouldn't kill a mother in front of her baby daughter, especially with me being a father to a son myself." He explained which calmed the Allien mother from shooting him.
"You're a father yourself?" The Alien mother asked surprised.
"Soon to be of two with my wife currently pregnant." David answered while looking at the baby who could be older than a year old and when he looked at her eyes, they the same kind of purple as her mother.
However when He tried to come closer to the baby, the baby shot some kind of purple like energy beam out of its hands.
"What the hell!?" David shouted in shock and surprise.
"Shh quiet!" The Alien women said to him so that he wouldn't risk scaring her daughter and having her unleash more of her powers.
The Alien women was considering her options knowing that with her wounds she wouldn't be able to survive and that she didn't have long left to life and knowing that her daughter needed someone to take care of her.
And with this man in front of her who was a father himself…
She had no other option.
"I need you to hold her for me for second." The Alien women asked David.
"Why?" David was confused about the request.
"Just hurry! I don't have a lot of time left." The Alien mother ordered him.
Reluctantly because of the strange request and also because he didn't want to get his face blasted off, David carefully lifted up the child right near her mother.
Alien mother then grabbed something that was close to her, and it appeared to be some kind of vials which contained some kind of blue liquid and a needle.
"What are you…?" David was trying to asked, confused on what the mother was up to.
"I don't *cough* have a lot of time left… So before I go, I need to make sure that my daughter will be safe, and I need to make sure that her *cough* *cough* powers are sealed away until she's *cough* ready." The Mother explained while coughing out blue blood.
David looked concerned with the Alien women's declining health but knew he could do nothing.
After having the liquid inside of the vials placed in the needle, she looked at David, "Be ready. Li Marr's powers will act out while I'm injecting, this into her."
David looked confused at the name, "Li Marr?"
"That's my daughter's name." She answered.
Soon afterwards, She began to inject the needle into her daughter which caused the baby to begin crying and soon afterwards quakes began to form which nearly knocked David off his feet as he saw the cracks form all over the place and trees being knockdown all over the place.
After a few more moments it finally stopped but that wasn't the only thing that caused David to look shock…
It was the fact that the blue blood that was coming out of Li Marr was blue but now it was turning red!
"What…?" David was speechless.
The mother coughed a bit before she answered, "This should help her blend in with your kind."
David then gave Li Marr back to her daughter as she began calming her daughter down and then began speaking in a language which David didn't understand until she gave her daughter a kiss in her forehead before looking at David.
"I leave *cough* I leave my daughter in your hands." The Alien women suddenly said.
David looked shocked and confused, "What do you mean, you're leaving your daughter in my hands? You don't even know me."
"True *cough* *cough* but you said it yourself… About you being a father, no?" David had to nod to that, "Then when it comes to taking care of Li Marr and raising her, I'll leave it in your hands." She told him.
"But why me?" David asked confused.
"I've *cough* always found your raise to be interesting since I saw a blonde hair human female who joined us for a time. *Cough* *Cough* And even if I don't know you, it's not like I can find someone to take care of her while I'm basically on verge of dying here." She chuckled a bit to herself before coughing out more blood.
The women then gave out the vials of that liquid that they injected to her daughter and some kind of device, "When it comes to the *cough* 'medicine', inject into her at least once a year, it should be enough to keep her po- *cough* powers hidden until she's old enough to control them properly as well as keep her hidden as a human until she's older." She instructed him about the 'medicine' before showing him a sphere like device, "Once she's old enough to realise that she's not human, give this to her. this should tell her of her heritage." She told him about the device.
David nodded taking in all the instructions that he has been given.
"One *Cough* one more thing… Make sure to have Li Marr have a human name so that she can blend in with your kind." She told David who nodded since Li Marr would be a strange name for a human. "And please watch over her." Alien women said with teary voice as she started tearing up.
"I will watch over her for you, I promise." David promised the dying women.
The Alien women then looked at her daughter and with teary eyes before kissing her in the forehead before saying to her, "Goodbye my little cosmic…" She said with her last breath before she finally passed away.
David out of respect closed the women's eyes so that she might rest as he took both his new daughter and everything that the alien women gave her into his car as he knew he had one hell of a responsibility that was placed on him.
Present time
Alexia couldn't believe what she was hearing… She was an Alien!
She knew that she wasn't the Rodríguez family's actually daughter and that she was adopted but that wasn't the thing that also caught her attention.
She always had those powers since she was a baby and that this wasn't the first time she caused those earthquakes.
Aleixa felt betrayed when her father told her all of this, "So I was an Alien…?" Alexia asked in a strain tone.
David nodded, "Yes."
"So I was an Alien, and I was the reason that so many people got killed because of me creating those earthquakes and you knew that I could do that." Alexia said in a strained tone with everything in the house beginning to shake slightly.
Carlos who was slightly shocked but what he had heard but was now concerned about the tremors and about it this time being inside of the house, "Alexia, I think you should-"
"You lied to me." Alexia said with her tone getting more angry as the tremors got slightly worst.
"Alexia, I did what I thought was best." David tried to tell her, but she wasn't having any of it.
"How many people were killed because of what I did because I didn't know or have any control over power, I didn't know I have but you did!" Alexia said as before another earthquake begins, Carlos managed to knock her out using some sleeping drugs to put her unconscious.
Carlos then looked at his father as he put his younger sister over his shoulder, "You know she's not going to forget this right?" He asked knowing his sisters habit of holding grudges.
David nodded, "I know."
Meanwhile elsewhere
The blue skin man was on his ship which he had hidden near the planet as he watched the whole event concerning a region wide earthquake and the destruction that it caused.
'Interesting…' He thought to himself.
One of his robots then walked in, "Sir! We have confirmed who the blood belongs to." It reported before handing over the report.
The Blue skinned man looked at the report before smirking, 'So she's their daughter huh?' He though in amusement before looking at the robot, " Keep an eye out for anything abnormal occurs around that region, I'm interested to see what our little friend will do in this back water planet." He ordered.
"Yes sir!" The robot before leaving.
The Blue skinned man then leaned back on his seat before looking back at the report one more time before thinking to himself, "I let the mad scientist daughter have her fun with those powers… but only for now." He said to himself with a smirk plastered on his face.
AN: Longest chapter I have ever done in writing anything ever. But finally it's done! And for anyone who was put out by how Alexia acted think of it this way, She just learned that she caused region wide damages and that she's responsible for people getting hurt and killed so of course when she learns that she's an alien and that her adopted father knew she had those kinds of power it would cause her to snap.
