Chapter 6 (Ascension): Decision that changes everything
Guadalajara
Alexia and Leo were both going for walk round the city or what was left of it since the whole disaster that Alexia had caused with her powers. The main centre of the city where that where their school was located was absolutely demolished and would take months if not a year to repair. Other parts of the city differed but the outer part of the city which though was still damaged was not as bad as the other parts.
Right now Alexia looked down as she was almost being crushed by the amount of guilt that she felt seeing the amount of damaged that was caused especially seeing how people have to suffer because of it.
"It wasn't your fault." Leo reassured her.
"It was my power which caused it to happen" Alexia reminded him, "If it wasn't me who caused it then who did then?"
Leo sighed, while both the twins didn't know about what happened for both him and Carlos, they could easily see that Alexia felt extremely guilty for what had happened and that she really didn't want to talk to their father because of him keeping the truth about her being an alien and the same powers that she just learned about and used to cause a region wide earthquake, is something she had since she was a toddler.
Though Leo could understand why Alexia was so angry since if he was in her situation, he probably would have reacted the same way that she did but at the same time though she had a bit more of a reserved personality, but she could really hold grudges if you really piss her off enough.
And this was one such occasion.
"It was your first time that your powers have fully awakened since you were a baby. You were always going to lose control of your powers." Leo tried to explain to her.
"Even if it was it still doesn't change the fact that I killed people." Alexia said to him, not willing to try and shift blame from herself.
Rather or not she meant to, it doesn't change that she had lost control of her powers, and that people paid the price for it.
Leo sighed but was curious, "So what are you going to do with those powers of yours?" Leo asked since he did know that there were times where her powers acted out.
"I honestly don't know." Alexia answered honestly.
If someone was to say to her that she would have superpowers that would cause a region wide earthquake, shot some sort of energy, move or things with her mind or that she was basically a walking talking tank then she would ask if they were crazy.
And if they also told her that she was an alien then… she would recommend them to a therapist.
Both siblings went past a bunch of people which forced Alexia to have to begin chewing some gum and playing with a fidget toy so that she would not be overwhelmed by the amount of voices that she was currently hearing in her head.
Hearing everyone's situation inside of her head made Alexia feel worst about herself as unlike most, her family wasn't in any kind of financial problem because of David's work as in accountancy and now apparently when he used to work in politics, so they were fine but other people weren't as lucky as they were.
Knowing that because of Alexia's ability to read people's minds could cause her discomfort, Leo tried to lead out of the area as fast as possible until.
"¡Todas las manos donde pueda verlas! (Everyone hands where I can see them!)"
Everyone then heard some warning shot which caused some to jump but everyone to put their hands in the hair as they then see three masked with bandanas over their heads on one of them and covering the lower half of the other two faces. Al three of them with tattoo all other their arms and were armed with weaponry as they were holding everyone here hostage.
"¡Cualquier persona aquí que haga un movimiento recibirá una bala en la cabeza! ¿Entendido? (Any person here make a move and you´ll get a bullet in the head! Got it?)" One of the gangsters shouted to everyone there including both Leo and Alexia who were both scared for their lives.
Ever since Alexia caused the destruction in the Jalisco region that caused crime rate to skyrocket with gangs and other criminal organisations to take advantage of the situation and rob innocent people that were already struggling because of the situation and because of the damage and the amount of crimes that were occurring it made it impossible for them to be everywhere all at once.
'Another thing that I'm responsible for.' She thought to herself both sadly about what she had done and terrified at the current situation that she has found herself in.
Though thankfully Alexia and Leo were far back from where the gangsters were, but it still didn't change the fact that everyone here including them was scared for their lives.
Especially when a warning shot was fired by one of the gangsters gun.
"¡Haz algo graciosos y el próximo no será un disparo de advertencia! (Do anything funny and next one won´t be a warning shot!)" The Thug warned everyone there which caused the atmosphere to become almost suffocating.
Alexia then saw the two of them making their way towards the one of the shop´s till and threaten the cashier similar to what you would see from GTA or other games like that but this wasn´t a game this was real life, and she was worried that things were going to be getting ugly.
Alexia noticed that the third guy was on patrol almost looking like he wanted someone to try something like call the cops or something so that they could give him an excuse to shot them dead.
Alexia did noticed however that some man that looked to be in his late forties to early fifties was trying to make his way towards the thug that was patrolling for the other two.
Alexia then knew what he was trying to do.
'No please don't do it' Alexia thought scared to herself.
She wanted to move or to ask him not to, but she was too scared.
She would end up regretting that .
When that man got close to the gunman it ended up with a fight breaking out with as the man was trying to get the gun out of the thugs arm, but he wasn't able to which made things worst as he didn't noticed that the thug had a pocketknife on him but when he did it was too late.
Alexia felt the breath left her body when she saw that man was stabbed in the chest by the thug before being shot.
That's when pandemonium broke out.
Everyone now scared for their lives began running but Alexia who still in shock was unable to move till Leo had to physically grab her in order to lead the both of them out of the area as the other two thugs that came back out meet up with their third member originally started to argue with one another before they started to fire on multiple people.
Alexia while being dragged away by her younger brother with Alexia only thinking one thing.
'That man was killed… and I could have done something…'
Few hours later at the Rodríguez house
After both of them got home they both swarmed by the rest of their family who was asking question, but Leo was the on answering them since Alexia just went straight to her room without even talking to anyone.
Alexia could both hear her siblings thoughts as well as their concerns for her and she could also hear them knock on her door but they couldn't enter it as Alexia's powers were blocking them from entering though it was like it was acting on Alexia's thoughts to not have anyone enter her room.
Alexia's tv in her room was on as it was watching some Naruto Shippuden however, she wasn't able to focus on it as the whole events from earlier was playing on her mind nonstop about that guy and how he got shot right in front of her.
Sure she was responsible for multiple people's death when she caused that region wide earthquake throughout the entire Jalisco region but that was the first time in her life that she could have potentially helped someone but instead she stood there and did nothing.
And that lead to that massacre happening.
Right now it was the evening and while the rest of her family was having dinner, Alexia was still in her bedroom thing about the whole ordeal.
"I just wish I could have done something!" Alexia said to herself in frustration which caused a desk in her room to start flying which caught Alexia's eye.
Alexia forgot temporarily that she had powers that defied human knowledge… then again, she wasn't exactly a human.
Alexia then had a thought forged in her mind since she could feel that she had blocked anyone from opening the door.
'So what if I…' Alexia though to herself.
Alexia then tried to focus her powers on her collections of manga as she saw purple like viperlike tendrils and similar colour-like veins were now formed on her arms as she lifted up her arms and purple aura formed around the manga before they began levitating in the air.
Alexia smiled seeing this before she tried to lower them though she struggled because her not being used to her powers, and it lead to the collection of manga falling into an absolute mess.
'Oh well." Alexia thought in amusement to herself as she was putting her manga collection back in the shelf.
For the first time she actually felt an enjoyment at having this power.
Alexia after putting the collection of manga back into the shelf, Alexia then walked towards her bed and after taking a deep breath before she bent down so that she can placed her right hand underneath her bed frame before she began to lift up her right arm and her legs and she could feel that she was lifting up her entire bed.
Alexia couldn't help but smile a bit as her bed felt like a paper weight.
Unlike when she ripped her door off its hinges which she was scared by her doing something like that when she's never done anything like that before. Before she couldn't even lift a lightweight dumbbell but now, she's lifting heavy wooden doors and beds like nothing.
Alexia put her bed down as she was now looking at her arms remembering now that she blasted Leo across the toilet into that wall as she then lifted up her right arm trying to blast some ugly clay model that she had made when she was younger.
But when she tried it, nothing happened.
"What are you kidding!?" Alexia exclaimed annoyed that her power to blast some kind of energy out of her arm
Alexia tried to blast the same kind of energy out of her arm again by thrusting her arm forward repeatedly trying to get the power to come out of her but it still wasn't working.
"Just", Alexia gritted out while trying to get her arm to fire that energy beam, "Work", thrusting her arm forward, "you", thrusting it again, "stupid", thrusting it again, "THING!" She almost shouted as she almost threw her arm forward.
A massive amount of cosmic like energy then blasted out of her body with even more force then the amount of energy then what blasted Leo.
In fact it was so much that it sent Alexia flying of her feet and actually went flying into nearly the roof of her room which caused a slight dent in it close to the other dent that she caused the first time she did when she used her power.
And just like before it didn't even hurt her little bit.
As Alexia stood back up and began dusting herself before seeing that clay models that she was aiming at got completely wiped out.
Alexia then looked at her hands which still had some purple energy coming out of it.
'If I could learn how to master this then maybe I could…' Alexia thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door by from her ability to read people's minds, was her older brother.
"Alex? We some noise up here, everything alright?" Carlos asked from behind the door.
Alexia smiled, "Yes in fact…" Alexia trailed off a bit looking at the destroyed clay model and her glowing fist that she managed to get to glow up again, "It's more than fine."
AN: And I end it off here, I promise that next chapter will be longer since we will be having Alexia's first fight scene since Alexia has now began to accept her powers and wishes to use them now.
