Volume 3, Chapter 2:
Inside Haven Academy two people walked through the hallways. One was a much older man and the other a young teen woman with similar hair as Weiss Schnee. Her name is Willow Schnee, and she was carrying a notebook and camera to explore more of Haven Academy while also interviewing the vice principal of the academy as Headmaster Lionheart was out for an important meeting. Willow Schnee came to Haven with an opportunity to explore and join the Academy...
That was the coverup she made. When reports from locals near Haven of green alien creatures were sighted, she had to come to investigate with the help of her father, Nicholas Schnee. When given tour of a class, that's when she found the students writing an unknown formula multiple times which called for bad news. Her biggest concern was that this was occurring during the Vytal Festival.
Lecter: Our work here. My improvements aren't confined to the classroom. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. We've introduced a new policy. School dinners are absolutely free, but compulsory. Do try the chips.
Willow: Oh, I'd love to. Thank you. And it's got to be said, the transformation you've brought about is amazing. I mean, maybe you're working the children a little bit too hard now and then, but I think good results, they're more important than anything.
Lecter: Exactly. You're a woman of vision, Miss Schnee. The perfect student to fit here at Haven.
Willow: Oh, I can see everything, Mister Lecter. Quite clearly.
Ever since what transpired when she was a little girl with Dr. Pavel, The Doctor and his friends, she's been very invested in what else is out there in the world. Rather than concentrating on the family business or royalty, she was all about exploring Ufology and Cryptozoology. With the help of her father, she made a secret vacant room behind the library into a room for sightings and information about the unknown. One thing she did hope for was to meet the Doctor again and she did not know what was coming.
Outside on campus, Team RWBY or JEDZ in disguise just watched Team STRQ pass by which shook both Ruby and Yang seeing their respective mothers with their father and uncle. Yang's hand shook as her mind and body where in two different sides of whether she should reach out to them or stay behind. Ruby held her hand to calm her down and signal her that it was best to leave them be.
Ruby: I know Yang...I want to reach out too, but we can't risk anything that could change or fracture the timeline.
Yang: But we're in disguise, as long as they see us that way it really won't change a thing!
Weiss: It's not about whether we look like someone or not Yang, it's about the emotions we have. You have to remember that they are not the same people we know in our timeline. They're still young and learning.
Yang hesitated but gave up eventually and knew that they were right. But a part of her knew that if she spotted Raven, she would not hold back on confronting her. Ruby had those thoughts as well of reaching out to her mom considering she never got the chance to truly grow up with her or even spend time after her death. It was now lunchtime at Haven and the food hall was filled up with students from different academies as well. But the girls knew something was definitely sketchy when the only thing in the menu was Fish and Chips even though Blake did not mind.
Weiss: Last I recall, every academy including Haven has different food options. So why only fish and chips?
Blake: *eats happily* Why not? This is all I could ever ask for in food!
Yang: They do look a little too *squishes the grease* Slimy. *Sticks tongue out* I would rather eat what the Doctor got for us.
Ruby: Not to mention, the lunch ladies are acting...weird.
They all look back at the lunch counter where one lunch lady is handling out the fish and chips while the other is staring at every single student in the food hall. They also seem to be blocking what the other lunch ladies are doing in the back as Ruby catches a glimpse of a large container.
Ruby: They are hiding something cause I see a container, but they are blocking it.
Weiss: We got to let the Doctor know once he's out!
?: Uh, excuse me can we sit here?
Ruby: Oh sure! There's plenty of- *eyes widened* ...Space.
The four girls were shook to the core when the voice asking if they could sit here came from a young Summer Rose and behind her were Taiyang, Raven, and Qrow also known as Team STRQ.
Summer: Thank you so much! Sorry for the intrusion by the way, it's so crowded and we had nowhere else to sit.
Raven: We could have just sat outside where it's quiet and not so much noisy people.
Summer: Raven! *Punches her shoulder lightly* Anyways, my name is Summer Rose. This is Taiyang Xiao Long. And the Branwen twins, Raven and Qrow. Team STRQ for short.
Ruby: W-Wow!...A pleasure to meet you four. I'm Lindsay Jones. That's Kara Eberle. Arryn Zech. And Barbara Dunkelman, we're Team JEDZ!
Summer: *gasps* That's such a cool name! Sounds better than ours.
Raven and Qrow: HEY!
Ruby chuckled a bit to see her mother when she was young acting just like her. It was bittersweet yet comforting at the same time.
Qrow: Where you four come from anyway?
Weiss: Vacuo.
Taiyang: Must be burning hot over there.
Yang: It has its highs and lows but nothing much we can really do.
Blake: How about you guys?
Summer: Oh! We're from Beacon Academy!
Weiss: I heard it's a touch academy to get to.
Raven: Unless you're as prepared, strong, and the best like us.
Yang: Little cocky I see.
Raven: What's that? I need you to speak up.
Summer: Raven! Behave! You're not a child!
Qrow: Pfft!
The two teams interacted well and had a normal conversation throughout lunch as Ruby and Summer geeked out over weaponry and their own as well. Raven and Yang didn't really see eye to eye and avoided contact. As lunch was nearing its end, Team RWBY had their scrolls ring and was a message from Dalek Khan to meetup back in the TARDIS.
Ruby: Ah. Sorry looks like we gotta go train for the first round! But it was so great meeting you!
Summer: Ah, we're gonna head off to train as well. Hopefully we can meet up and battle in the festival!
After both teams departed, Team RWBY ran out of the cafeteria not knowing they were being watched. Running back to the TARDIS, the girls looked around to make sure no one was around before entering inside where the Doctor and Dalek Khan were already awaiting them.
The Doctor: So! How was the first day of school?
Yang: Too close to call.
The Doctor: Why? Did you find something?
Blake: Not something.
Ruby: Someone...my mom...
The Doctor: *looks at them* Oh...well that is a surprise indeed.
Weiss: We were able to keep it low profile especially Ruby. But we were able to see so many similarities between them alongside Raven and Yang who really didn't talk.
Yang: She's as bad as she ends up later on.
The Doctor: It's a good thing your disguises kept you covered.
Dalek Khan: ALERT! ALERT! UNKNOWN HUMAN APPROACHING THE TARDIS!
Dalek Khan's sudden alert got everyone wondering who found them and what did they wanted. Their first thoughts were the same which was the Slitheen. Team RWBY's second thoughts were Team STRQ as the Doctor looks through the screen panels as his worried face drops for a more relaxed one seeing who was in front of the police box. The woman stood in front with a mix of shock, excitement, and hope.
Willow: Hello! A-Are you the TARDIS? Or just an ordinary police box. I-If it's the TARDIS, is the Doctor here?
The Doctor: *opens the doors and smiles* Little Willow!
Willow: DOCTOR! *Hugs him tight* I knew it! I knew you were going to come!
The Doctor: Look at you. The little girl who saved her father and the city of Mantle all those years ago. *smiles* Had me worried for a second thinking it was someone else.
The Doctor allows young Willow to enter the TARDIS before closing the doors as she stood in front of Team RWBY with happy emotions of seeing them again. The girls were all excited, but Weiss had a mix of happiness and sadness.
Willow: I'm so happy to see you again Lindsay, Barbara, and Arryn! *Hugs the three*
Ruby: It's so awesome to see you too Willow!
Yang: And you're all grown up!
Willow: Not that grown up! I'm your age too! *Giggles and looks at Weiss* Hello Kara.
Weiss wasted no time in hugging her mother as Willow returned the hug while the others watched with joy to see the young mother and future daughter sharing a beautiful moment.
Weiss: Happy to see you again mo- Willow!
Willow: Did you guys come on your own or did my father send you here?
The Doctor: Your father gave me a call that there was big trouble here at Haven. He showed us what you uncovered, and we came to investigate as well.
Willow: Then I guess I came at the right time.
Willow pulled out notebooks and documents across the control panel as the Doctor pulled out written papers from the students he had substituted for today. They all knew in agreement that the Slitheen were getting closer to getting what they needed.
The Doctor: During my shift of teaching the students, four of them had the knowledge no ordinary human should know. I had each of them do formulas of science and math including the Slitheen formula...they're getting closer. They shouldn't know any of this and somehow, they do.
Dalek Khan: I have cracked it and figured out the formula for it. They are 92% complete Doctor.
The Doctor: They had enough time with no one suspecting a thing.
Willow: It's those big green creatures right?
The Doctor: Raxacoricofallapatorian
Team RWY and Willow: What?
Blake: It's the name of their species but there are different families of those species, right?
The Doctor: Correct Arryn! And this family is known as the Slitheen.
Willow: Besides what my father has shown you guys, I did find some more information about this. About two weeks ago when the first sightings of the Slitheen began to show up, Haven Academy had a new teaching staff after the actual staff got sick with an unknown illness. A day later, a new staff came in.
The Doctor: Then the teaching staff are actually the Slitheen in disguise. No surprise there. Still, the bigger question remains and that is how are these students getting the knowledge.
Ruby: I may have an idea. When we got our lunch, I noticed there a huge container that was being heated up but two lunch ladies kept blocking the view.
Weiss: And we were also only given fish and chips.
Blake: Am I the only one okay with this?
Willow and the Doctor looked at each other with the same thought in mind after hearing this from Team RWBY. The Doctor decided to put it to test with Blake.
The Doctor: You feeling alright Arryn?
Blake: Yeah...why?
The Doctor: What's fifty nine times thirty five?
Blake: Two thousand and sixty-five. *Eyes widened* Oh, my God.
Yang: Woof. I knew you were smart but not that quick. *winks*
Willow: That's not normal right?
The Doctor: We might have just cracked the case. It's the oil in the fish and chips. That's why it's the only thing being served.
Willow: It was this week that they only kept fish and chips as the menu. Everything else was stripped from it.
The Doctor: That's what the Slitheen wants And the students learning power is being accelerated by the oil. That oil from the kitchens, it works as a, as a conducting agent. Makes the kids cleverer.
Weiss: Okay then, we got the who, the what, the how, the when, and all that's left is the why.
Blake: There's definitely some motivation behind it.
The Doctor: Then we are sneaking into the school tonight. You four have a match to do soon. Once the school is clear and lights out for everyone, we'll sneak in and try to get more information. Perhaps destroy the oil as well.
Yang: What about the Slitheen? They'll be watching us for sure!
The Doctor: Did you already forget we have Sonic devices to deactivate any alarms or surveillance? You four go get ready while Willow. Khan, and I continue doing more work towards this.
The four girls nodded and headed out without being watched to preapre for the Vytal Festival once again while the TARDIS trio continue their work on the Slitheen's plan.
The Doctor: Have you had any encounter or pics with a Slitheen carrying a metallic claw?
Willow: No. Should I be worried?
The Doctor: I would be lying if I said no. He was in the present timeline where my friends are from and he's a big problem if he's here. Soooo, Ms. X Files out with the royalty and in with the out of this world gig.
Willow: After what happened with Dr. Pavel, I thought to myself that is more out there than I thought. Obviously, you and your team as well, I thought of focusing on what I wanted to do more of. This is probably the biggest one yet. All the others have been sightings or paranormal activity. But aliens, this is the big one.
The Doctor: Your father seemed okay with it. However, something also tells me you've been wanting to crawl out of the castle to distract yourself from a personal situation.
Willow: *sighs and chuckles softly* You really are a clever man.
The Doctor: I do get that a lot.
Willow: It's halfway through Mom's passing anniversary...it hurt so badly because I thought...she would be okay that she would make it through...I had so much hope even on her last day. She was always there for me...and supported me every time. She's also helped me follow the right path to life.
The Doctor: I know it's very tough and clouds both our mind and heart. I lost both my parents in the final days of the Time War. I still keep them in my hearts and remember every day the amazing parents I was so lucky to have. It can be painful, sometimes it changes us not in the way we want, sometimes it has us wanting to be on our own, and we all have that small part where we ask the universe why? Why did you do this? Can't there be a way to reverse it? The only answer we will always get is the universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship, everything has its time. And everything ends. It's always sad but then things begin again and that's happy.
Willow took in those words and shared a small smile to the Doctor as a thanks. Perhaps this is what she needed to hear after distancing herself from the world. She thinks it's now time to reconnect with her father and bring up that project he wanted to do with her. Hours have passed and Team RWBY successfully moved on to the next round of the Vytal Festival where they will come face to face with Team STRQ, something none of them thought would happen especially Ruby and Yang. However, the four girls left a remarkable impression to the crowd for its incredible chemistry, dynamic teamwork, and skills. It was now late hours and there was nothing but mere silence at the Academy and only a TARDIS remained there.
The Doctor: We're going to split up into two groups of three. Lindsay, Arryn, and Barbara will try to head to the cafeteria and try to get a sample or at least any components added into that oil that is giving the students bigger knowledge. Kara, Willow, and I will try to go deep in the academy to search for any other clues or how they got here.
Ruby: Once again, what if they find us?
Willow: There are cameras in almost every corner of the school. It wouldn't be surprised if one of them was piloting the cameras.
The Doctor: Oh, don't worry I already got that covered. The footage will be playing on a repeated loop while the timestamp continues. All thanks to the TARDIS electrical function.
Weiss: Second question, what do we do if we encountered them?
The Doctor: The most important one, get the answers from their mouth. They will try not to say anything but if you give them the idea you do, they'll explain it. The second option would be to defend yourself and fight them. Third...Run!
Willow: Do you always run?
The Doctor: It's my semblance actually.
Team RWBY share a good laugh at the Doctor's joke and positive attitude despite the situation they are in. The plan was officially a go as the entire gang split up and go in different ways while the cameras are rolling the same footage of an hour ago. Now inside the academy, the trio of the Doctor and Schnees began to look for any answers as to how they are here. Passing by one of the classrooms, the trio noticed the chalk writing on the board and it was the formula in full display.
The Doctor: They are getting closer. If they figure this out by tomorrow, it's going to be bad news and history could change...or worse...a fracture in the space time continuum.
Weiss: We should take a look and send this to Khan. *Sneaks inside with Willow*
The Doctor: Oi! *Follows them inside*
The Doctor followed to plea with them about coming back but they would not as the future mother and daughter got a closer look at it as Weiss sends the picture to Dalek Khan. Suddenly, both the Sonic Screwdriver and Sonic Myrtenaster went off which meant something was detected.
The Doctor: Kara, check the backside of it.
Weiss nodded as she slowly pulled the chalkboard over to reveal a panel of buttons from behind. They were hiding it where they least expected it while the Doctor inspected the entire panel. He finds a button which is transportation as he presses it and the three vanish in a flash.
On the other side of the Academy, Ruby, Blake, and Yang quietly enter the food hall and noticed no sighting of the lunch ladies but the lights to the kitchen were still on.
Yang: We should risk it! The quicker we figure this out, the better and we just run afterwards.
Ruby: You're right, the quicker the-
CRASH!
The three girls heard crashing noises from inside which raised their suspicion that they weren't alone after all. Entering one by one, they snuck into different parts while trying to get a glimpse of what caused the crashing noise and get closer to the kitchen. As Ruby got closer, she bumped into someone which startled her as she sped back away from the creature...that turned out to be Summer Rose.
Ruby: MO- *covers mouth and whispers* Summer? What are you doing here?
Summer: Lindsay? I should be asking you the same thing!
Yang: Sis, what's going on- Oh...crap.
Blake and Yang arrive to help Ruby out, only to find Summer and her team as well were inside which explains the crashing noise. This was very awkward for the sisters as they did not know what to do on whether tell a lie or tell them the truth.
Raven: What are you three doing here?
Yang: We should ask you the same thing Raven?
Taiyang: Okay, okay, let's not get hasty here girls. Look, Qrow was growing suspicious of the Academy for how the professors have been acting.
Qrow: They're acting like zombies. Not a single care in the world and we want to find out why.
Summer: What about you three? Where's Kara?
Ruby: Uhhhh...it's sort of a complicated story.
At an unknown and dark place that resembled an underground, the trio landed safely while the Doctor instantly got to work on inspecting the area and Weiss remained close protecting her mother.
Weiss: Doctor, where are we?
The Doctor: Underground but still Haven Academy. This must be where the Slitheen are meeting. Stay close you two, things could get ugly...and dangerous.
The three stayed close and continued their walk in hoping to find the answers they needed despite knowing they have a good chance of encountering the green creatures. As they walked a little further, they stopped at a sight they were expecting, the Slitheen ship.
The Doctor: There it is.
Lecter: *appears behind them* Right you are sir. Though, you should know by now that school has been closed for a couple of hours now. *Looks at Willow and Weiss* Miss Schnee, a pleasant surprise to see you here.
Willow: Did you really think I came just to gaze upon your takeover of the academy?
Lecter: Would have been nice but I guess devouring you three is a much more deserving outcome.
The Doctor: I wouldn't do that if I were you Lecter.
Lecter:*laughs* And what makes you think that you are more advanced than me Mr. Smith?
The Doctor: Oh, I don't know! Maybe the sound of my name might ring a bell. I'm the Doctor.
Lecter was stunned and moved back from the three as he growled then let out a ferocious roar. The three stood together side by side as from the ship and parts of the underground, more Slitheen were appearing as Willow and Weiss were left terrified by the appearance of these gigantic and deadly creatures surrounding them.
The Doctor: Please, I already had this scenario back in Menagerie. I'll cut to the chase, what's your reason for wanting the formula of the Eternal Bomb? I won't ask again cause my Screwdriver is contained with the one liquid that blows you all up!
Lecter: You're bluffing.
Weiss: Well I'm not! *Shoves Myrtenaster to the ground causing a small shake*
Lecter: You're an impressive one. Just like this planet and its rich source of dust. We have used it, changed it to work as our fuel for our ship to escape when the time is right. When we noticed that dust is used for weaponry and explosives as well, we knew we had something worth in our hands.
The Doctor: Now, you're taking the risk of merging it with the Eternal Bomb. Now it makes sense why the formula isn't complete. On to the next question, why students?
Lecter: A young mind that's gaining knowledge is a perfect mind to help us get the formula as planned. And so, we are feeding the students with their oil containing minerals from our planet that opens their mind, blocking them from everything else BUT the formula and solution.
Weiss: You're drugging them?!
The Doctor: Typical. You wouldn't care at all on experimenting on young human beings. Not to mention, snatching actual people's skins and using them as a disguise. And let me guess on that final part, use the eternal bomb to destroy Remnant and escape?
Lecter: Not quite. We are only going to use 10% on this rotten planet. We discovered that simply with that small percentage can bring a world ending damage. We'll use the 100% across the universe, collect important jewels, dust, values.
The Doctor: Death and destruction for profit. No surprise from this family of the Raxacoricofallapatorian. However, you got a problem which is the other half of my team is up there in the kitchen and getting rid of all that oil.
Lecter:*chuckles* That would be a concern hadn't he told us that you and your friends were coming.
The Doctor: *eyes widened* No...
Lecter: Oh yes, and I assume that you already had an encounter with him and his brother.
He was here. He was in this timeline. He warned his people about their arrival. The Doctor filled with shock and anger now needed to get out of here and rescue the girls if he was up there...lurking...watching...
Lecter: Must say, you really are resposible on carrying your school badges.
Lecter presses a button which sets an electrical charge on all three as multiple jolts hurt them and weaken them to the ground while the other Slitheens were licking their teeth ready to finish these delicious preys.
Lecter: Finish them off. We got work to do in the morning.
The group of Slitheen walked closer and approaching the trio with their teeth ready to chomp and their claws ready to cut up. The Doctor, Weiss, and Willow struggled to overcome the jolt of electricity across their bodies as they tried to figure a way out and fast.
Back at the Academy's Food Hall, the others work together and do their research until large footsteps are heard coming from one of the dark rooms. They all got into combat positions side by side awaiting what was coming towards them. Until the staff appeared from other parts and closing in on the young huntsmen and huntresses.
Qrow: Shit! It's the staff of the academy!
Raven: Fuck it! Let's just beat their ass and leave!
Yang: Damnit Raven would you for once rethink your choices!
Ruby and Summer: GUYS!
The staff stopped approaching them, but the loud footsteps continued getting closer until Blake got a good look at it and her eyes widened in fear. Slowly from the shadows, a Slitheen appears to Team STRQ, Ruby, and Yang's first time but this one was different as it contained a robotic claw, for this was Corsac.
Blake: N-No...
Corsac: How truly amazing it is that we meet yet again Princess.
Yang: Is this...
Blake: That's Corsac...the one who attacked my home.
Raven: What the hell are you?
Corsac: I am Corsac. Part of the Slitheen family to be precise and these are my loyal partners.
Each academy staff placed their hand on their head as they rip their forehead like a zipper and each one had a bright light shining as the skins of the staff wobbled to the ground and the giant green long necked aliens appeared right before the heroes as they all looked in horror of what they are being surrounded by.
Corsac: I believe it's time that we finished what we started Princess. Don't you think so? *chuckles*
Each Slitheen were walking closer to the heroes while in the underground the Doctor and the Schnees were in massive pain by the electricity impacting them. Trouble was arising for the good guys and Haven Academy was now a Slitheen infected place.
