Yin Yang Academy/Asian wilderness
The day I-Ching agreed to teach Jin was the day that Jin learned that the world was much bigger than he thought. The man walked Jin and Kyp outside towards the great wilderness before tapping his cane twice as the ground underneath the cane glowed with a golden ring of light with each tap. The trees parted and an unknown and mysterious passageway had opened through the trees.
Kyp took his leave during that time as I-Ching and his dog Dumpling walked with Jin through the mysterious passageway for what seemed like hours before they came up to a traditional temple made from stone and wood while being surrounded by a massive wooden gate painted red with golden eastern styled dragons lining the walls along with other various animals. The main gate had two jade tiger statues on either side of it and when I-Ching parted the doors of the gate, Jin saw a mountain of steps leading up towards the temple grounds themselves.
The walk had been long, and Jin was exhausted before making it halfway up the stairs while the old man and dog had no problems. But he persevered and soon made it to the top where he saw several monks training across the large courtyard.
That was Jin's first day of the Yin Yang Academy training. Afterwards, he began his training in combat and training under the various teachers of the Academy while I-Ching himself seemed to simply watch over Jin, which confused the teen since he said that he would train Jin himself, but Jin placed that thought aside and focused on his training.
Right now, Jin is fully clothed in his orange and yellow monk robes with wooden prayer beads around his neck and his hair tied into a top knot on his head while he meditated on the stone ground along with a few dozen monks as they all followed their instructors' words of advice.
Breathing in and out. Focusing on your inner power. Feeling the strength of your body. Compressing the air in your lungs before exhaling it outwards.
The advice was about harnessing your inner Chi/Chakra/Life Energy. Jin wasn't like a few other monks who scoffed at the idea and hardly tried. Jin knew that such things had to exist since his powers told him that magic itself was real. So, Jin placed all his effort into this training like he did with the physical exercises and sure enough he managed to unlock a new perk which changed the game entirely.
[Perk!
Name: Root Chakra
Rank: 1-4
The Root Chakra is associated with instinct, security, survival and potential for greater development. It energizes the body and distributes Chi throughout the bloodstream to circulate heat to the body.
This unlocks your Chi pool!
All Chi skills cost 10% less Chi.
All Chi perks are 20% more effective.
This unlocks the 'Aura' perk.]
[Perk!
Name: Aura
Rank: 1-10
You generate a natural aura of energy around your body which strengthens your body and abilities due to the Chi flowing through your bloodstream and respiratory system.
Grants: 10 Defense.
Increases all physical stats by 15%]
The perks had blown Jin's mind when he first got them, but he didn't let it get to his head since he knew that he was still weak compared to the more seasoned students and instructors of the school, so he maintained his focus on his training.
After the meditation came the martial arts training where he was trained in Dragon Style Kung Fu, Shaolin martial arts, Praying Mantis style martial arts and Aikido which took several hours to practice and learn. Honestly, Jin had a lot of respect for the more seasoned monks who went through this level of exercise without breaking a single sweat. He didn't know how these people could do naturally and without cheating videogame powers like he had.
"Jin, straighten your arms and widen your legs for a sturdy base." The instructor informed as Jin corrected his stance accordingly before continuing his kata along with the other monks.
[Martial Arts has leveled up! Level: 15-16!]
The more he leveled up the more skilled Jin became in his martial arts and already made note that his increasing skill had already gotten him attention due to how long he has been training at this temple. Monks gossip just like normal people when training wasn't involved, and Jin didn't have a lot of friends here due to the rumors of him being an arrogant prodigy because of his increasing level of skill and his standoffish nature.
Jin could understand since he didn't try to talk or interact with the other monks, but he wasn't eager to change that habit. He's used to people not liking him and if they already judged him without getting to know him, then Jin figured that he didn't need those people as his friends.
Still, being alone in a place full of monks wasn't exactly a fun thing despite how Jin was willing to avoid befriending the others.

[You have leveled up! Level: 6-7! You've gained 1 PP for a total of 4 Perk Points!]
"Maybe I should start using these perk points." Jin said to himself while sitting in the cafeteria of the temple as he momentarily stopped eating his meal of dumplings to look on at the level up screen that appeared in front of him.
His training at this academy had been leveling him up at a decent speed and he decided to save up his points instead of spending them at each level up, but with four points saved, Jin didn't see the harm in using them now for a bit of a boost in strength.
[Perk Points: 4

Your senses have enhanced to that of a wild animal, which greatly improves your sense of sight, hearing, smell and taste.

Perk Points: 0]
The world around Jin suddenly flared to life as he heard more things, smelled more spices and food, his sight basically changed from 480p to 1080p60, and all these senses combined started to give Jin a massive headache and slight regret at choosing this perk.
But Jin selected the perk for a reason. Having enhanced senses would help him in battle if he could get any form of advantage over his target and it would help him track down people as well if he could get a lock on their scent, or at least that was his line of thinking when he decided to pick up the perk.
So, after trying to adjust to his newfound senses, he went back to his meal and couldn't help but feel as if he was in heavenly bliss from just how much better the food had tasted now.
"You're the new prodigy, right?" An unfamiliar voice asked Jin, causing him to look to the right and see a new person sitting down next to him. This person smelled like a mix of mint and pepper spices while having a bowl of noodles in front of him as he sat down.
Zhen De, Level: 14
Honorable Monk/Descendant of Zhan De
Zhen seemed nice enough and was a bit higher leveled than Jin. Tanned skin with clear Asian features and dressed in the same traditional robes.
"Yeah. Why do you ask? Also, I wouldn't call myself a prodigy. I'm just a quick learner."
"Fair enough I suppose. The name's Zhen and I wanted to introduce myself as your senior and was curious if you were up for a friendly sparring match." Zhen said making Jin raise an eyebrow.
His skin was already beyond irritated from all the outside activities today, so he was a bit irritable right now and didn't quite understand why his senior monk would want to try and spare with him.
"Why would I agree to spar with you?"
"It could give you some decent fighting experience outside of the usual training drills, and it might even help boost morale. The two of us showing our strength might inspire other monks to train harder." Zhen advised before Jin carefully thought about the decision before a new quest appeared.

Hidden Objective 2: N/A
Hidden Objective 3: N/A
Rewards: 500 XP, Increased Affinity with Zhen, Increased Affinity with the White Lotus Faction.
Failure: 150 XP, Increased Affinity with Zhen.
Do you accept this quest? Y/N?
"Sure. I don't have anything else to do right now since I'm not scheduled in any classes right now." Jin replied easily enough while Zhen smiled in response; it was a genuine smile and Jin was mildly surprised to see it instead of a forced and fake smile that his former bullies would have and that smile itself helped ease Jin's nerves a bit.
"Awesome. Let's finish up and make our way to the yard." Zhen replied before both monks finished their food and waited a while for the meals to properly digest before they made their way to the training yard where several sparring matches were already in session.
During this relatively short time, Jin and Zhen found themselves bonding and becoming fast friends. The two of them made their way to a fighting ring which was a marked circle on the stone ground wide enough for the fighters to have space to move and perform proper combat.
"What rules are we following?" Jin asked.
"Tournament style. The first person to land five hits wins. Parries and blocks don't count."
"Fine by me."
Jin and Zhen both got into their proper stances. Jin heavily favored the Dragon style martial art that seemed to blend well with his limited knowledge of Judo. In comparison, Zhen dropped into a traditional Shaolin stance. Both teens looked on at each other before Jin made the first move and closed the distance between them with a quick side kick that Zhen ducked under before retaliating with a rapid jab which caught Jin in the back.
Jin quickly stepped away for distance before another hit could land and he parried a series of jabs from Zhen before ducking under a hook strike and hitting his own palm strike against Zhen's stomach, causing him to step back for distance. Both teens couldn't help but smile before going back on the offensive with a more serious tone to the fight since they both independently came to the same conclusion.
'No sense in feeling out my Zhen/Jin. I'd better be serious about this.'
The thoughts drove both teens into the same attacking motion as both teens struck each other's foot with high kicks before making both teens' legs recoil in pain from the force.
Jin pressed on and attacked with his own flurry of strikes that Zhen parried and blocked before Jin started to mix in some feints to confuse Zhen. Zhen, however, saw thought the fake strikes before catching both of Jin's hands and swept his leg with a low kick, knocking Jin down to the ground before he rolled out of the way to avoid a stomp aimed for his chest.
Jin stood back up and rushed with another high kick that Zhen ducked under, but this time. Jin fully committed to the kick and used the momentum to spin around and hit Zhen's chest with his opposite leg in a backwards aimed kick after he planted his other foot on the ground and used it to pivot into another kick.
Zhen took the hit and staggered back a bit before Jin pressed the advantage and attacked with curl handed strikes aimed at Zhen's already wounded chest. Zhen backstepped a few times as he parried before taking a hit in the chest again to deliver his own punch to Jin's upper right pectoral muscle, which stung like hell despite his damage resistant perks.
"Just two more hits for either of us is all it takes for one of us to win. I've got more experience, but your skill is real." Zhen complimented while Jin couldn't help but notice a few eyes on them.
"If this wasn't a tournament style spar. I'd say that the victory would go to you."
"Maybe, but you'd make me work for it." Zhen said before he readied himself while Jin did the same, but this time both teens advanced closer to each other at a slower pace before getting close enough to strike. Jin was first as he delivered a series of jab and hook combinations that Zhen dodged before attacking with his own strikes.
Jin turned his body to the side to avoid a punch, but it was too late since Zhen had already hit his kidney with a strong palm strike. Jin lost his balance for a moment and favored his right side. A kidney blow hurt like hell, and he noticed Zhen taking a few steps back while maintaining his stance. Jin took some deep breaths before focusing again and trying to think about how he could possibly win this, but his thoughts stopped when he noticed Zhen doing something odd.
Zhen's hands moved through the air with practiced ease. Almost as if his arms were flowing through some advanced and focused dance movements that expanded into some yoga movements. Jin noticed a faint outline of energy had formed over and around Zhen's body while a portion of said energy had gathered in the space around his hands that he brought close to his chest. Zhen's eyes were focused, and his breathing was steady, Jin was almost mesmerized by what he saw.
With the speed of a jackrabbit, Zhen extended his hands outwards openly and Jin could feel ripples in the air current as he was taken off his feet and knocked to the ground by a nearly transparent force of concussive energy that sent him out of the ring.
Jin saw his HP bar flash before his eyes and noticed that he wasn't too badly hurt or anything, but the damage was real, and he could only take so many attacks of that nature before his HP would hit zero.
Quest Failed!

Hidden Objective 1: Win in under 5 minutes.
Hidden Objective 2: Don't get hit once.
Hidden Objective 3: Win by knocking him out of bounds.
Rewards: 150 XP, Increased Affinity with Zhen.
"What the hell was that?" Jin asked before Zhen walked over and helped him to his feet while Jin dusted himself off and winced at the sore feeling in his chest.
"That was something you aren't supposed to know about until further down the road of your training." The familiar voice of I-Ching said before all the gathered monks and the two teens turned to see the blind man and his dog who had suddenly appeared before them, seemingly out of thin air.
"Master, I-Ching." Zhen quickly said before bowing like the other monks and Jin himself.
"Zhen, pay a visit to master Wen and explain to him why you decided to use Chi against a student who hasn't properly trained in Chi yet. I'm sure he is excited to hear what was going through your head." I-Ching said before Zhen gulped.
"Of course, sir." Zhen replied before walking away with his head lowered.
"Jin, walk with me, and the rest of you need to go about your normal training." I-Ching ordered before the group dispersed while Jin walked with the blind man and Dumpling around the temple grounds.
"That was Chi?"
"Yes, and you shouldn't have experienced it yet, but I can clearly see that you've already awakened the Root Chakra wheel within you and started learning how to become Intune with your inner energy, however you don't know how to properly manipulate it. If you had, you'd have been able to notice that Zhen was using his Chi to reinforce himself during that sparring match. You're around the same age, yet he was so much faster, stronger and more durable. I don't know how you didn't notice."
"I just thought it was because he trained longer than me." Jin said sheepishly while the man chuckled.
"The minds of the young are always interesting. But with that being said, I did notice that you could sense the presence of the Chi itself, even if you couldn't fully see and identify it." I-Ching explained while Jin thought about the nearly invisible force that had hit him.
"It was weird. I couldn't fully see anything, but I could slightly notice the energy around Zhen. I also barely noticed the Chi technique he used against me. It's like it was they're and not they're at the same time."
"Your something special Jin. I expected you to take months before awakening your Chi, but here we are. You're improving at bizarre speeds. Even the greatest masters in the order of light took months before unlocking their Chi, yet here you are…Do you know what that means?" I-Ching asked while Dumpling barked.
"No."
"It means that your training needs to be modified, so you can properly grow into a proper fighter. At the rate your going, you'd outclass everyone else in your skill range and that could lead to overconfidence, which isn't going to fly in a place like this. So, you'll be receiving the same level of training as Zhen." I-Ching declared while Jin thought about what to say or what he should say right now.
"Master I-Ching. Who is Zhen exactly?"
"That's a strange question? Why do you ask?" I-Ching asked back before he stopped walking and faced Jin.
"It's just…I know he's descended from someone important."
"How do you know that?"
"It's a long and confusing story." Jin replied while I-Ching kept up a stone like face while Dumpling laid down on the ground.
"I have time." I-Ching said back in a serious tone of voice before Jin sighed and began explaining how he knew about Zhen, how he got stronger so fast and that his life had somehow transformed into that of a single player RPG.

Yin Yang Academy/Hidden Temple in the Asian wilderness
After informing I-Ching about his RPG based powers that were gifted to him by the Jade Emperor. Jin's training had changed. Intense physical workouts, martial arts training, weapons training, Chi training and he did it along side Zhen who had been receiving the same level of training longer than Jin.
Right now, Jin and Zhen were both standing on perfectly cut longs while balancing large wooden sticks across their shoulders that are holding two large buckets of water on the left and right sides of the sticks respectively, and during this time they had to remain perfectly still and maintain proper breathing.
This exercise comes off as just physical training but in truth its real purpose is the Chi Breathing skill training. To properly manipulate and control your Chi you need perfect breathing, and to be perfectly Intune with your mind, body and soul on every possible level. Chi is dangerous in nature and without proper control, you could kill yourself or someone else. Meaning that no matter the circumstance, you're breathing, and Chi control must be perfect, which is why exercises like this are so important.
You're forced to only focus on maintaining your balance, muscle control and breathing control. Jin let his mind stay clear as he focused on the core aspects of this training. He could feel the strain on his throat and nose from the precise level of breathing control he was taking. He could feel the strain on his muscles that cried out for a break. He could feel the sweat pouring off his skin. He could feel how even the slightest movement of the stick caused the water buckets to shift and make this training harder.
The smells and sounds of the world around him all seemed to blend as he stood in an almost meditative stance. Oddly enough, his skill in Meditation also seemed to be getting a workout from this training. The constant dings going off in Jin's ears was a bit distracting, but he has long since learned to tune out those noises as well.
Jin and Zhen both couldn't say just how long they have been standing like this. The time seemed to stretch on for eternity, yet it also seemed to go by in the blink of an eye.
"That's enough. Drop the buckets." Instructor Kai instructed and both teens lowered their arms, causing the buckets and sticks to fall to the ground while other monks quickly came by with towels and began cleaning up the spilled water, while Zhen and Jin jumped off their wooden logs.
[Chi Breathing has leveled up! Level: 13-14!]
[Meditation has leveled up! Level: 19-20!]
[Root Chakra has ranked up! Rank: 2-4!]
[Aura has ranked up! Rank: 2-10!]
"You've both been showing vast improvement in Chi control. Zhen you've managed to cut down on the level of strain it costs your body and Jin, you've already reached the point of being able to shift in between normal and Chi breathing in a matter of seconds. I'm proud of you both. Now, Zhen sit in a meditative stance and focus on Chi projection. Jin, the master of our order has decided to test do something special due to the nature of your gift from the king of heaven." Kai explained before two monks came up to them with a large ornate wooden chest.
"What's this?" Jin asked before Kai opened the chest to reveal several scrolls.
"I-Ching explained that your power would call these…Skill scrolls?" Kai asked in confusion before handing Jin a scroll rolled up and kept in place with a gold ribbon. "These aren't the true original scrolls that contain these skills and the information behind them, but they are copies that serve a similar purpose, since the originals are too old to be handled without care. So, let's see if you can learn the skill in this scroll."
Jin didn't need any other form of advice before he undid the ribbon and was about to read the scroll before a predicable game screen appeared in front of him.
[Would you like to learn the 'Dragon Claw' skill? Y/N?]
Jin hit the yes button with ease before seeing the scroll transform into golden flower pedals that flowed into his body as a new skill alert appeared in front of Jin.

[Warning! An unknown error had occurred…Correcting now.]
Jin didn't like the look at the message he just saw before a new one appeared.
[Error has been corrected. The system will need to update properly during a twenty-four-hour period. During this time, you cannot learn skills via skill books, skills will not level up, you will not level up and you can not gain any more stat enhancements.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.]
"I learned the skill, but I think it might have caused a bug in my power system." Jin replied before explaining what happened, which went over Zhen's and Kai's heads respectively, but they simply allowed Jin to rest up for the next two days so his powers to fix themselves.
END!
A/N: Okay another chapter done and a new game altering update is on the way and as a fair warning I will tell you that if you think this is another first-person RPG system, your mistaken. You'll all see in the next chapter how things will change with the game system due to this massive update.
Poor Jin thought that he was getting used to his powers until this curve ball showed up.
Anyway, remember to fav, follow and review because it helps motivate me.
