Claire, Anne Marie and Ian were all singing Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" in the choir room. After that, we are introduced to Blaine's older brother, Cooper. Total ass. Handsome, though.
The next day, Blaine and Cooper were performing "Hungry Like the Wolf" with a touch of "Rio" by Duran-Duran. Afterwards, Cooper took one look at Anne Marie and smirked while raising an eyebrow. "Well, I'd certainly like to get to know you." Anne Marie chuckled nervously. Claire slowly put her hand over her mouth, moved her head and raised her eyebrows.
Blaine shouted, "Coop, you're my brother! Why can't you just support me?"
Claire said, "He's got a point, you know."
Becky walked in Sue's office. "I heard you're having a baby girl."
Sue hugged her, "Just like you."
"Can I give you a parenting tip? Try to work on your patience."
They all went to Six Flags on senior ditch day. They rode on the roller coaster, having a great time. Not much to say for this one here.
In the auditorium, Blaine found Cooper on stage. "I'm glad we got to sing one last time together before you left to be Mr. Hollywood."
"Yeah, my audition got cancelled. Michael Bay decided to go another direction. I am tough on you. But that's only because I see, I've always seen, how insanely talented you are. You're gonna do it all, Blaine. Broadway, movies, shows. It's all waiting for you."
"We are gonna get you a new audition."
"Pointing. Nice touch."
Brittany and Mike were dancing with Blaine. Will and the others clapped. He asked, "What brought this on?"
Blaine said, "Well, the Nationals theme this year is vintage, so what's more vintage than disco?
Will said, "I don't know if I ever told you guys this, but when I was in glee club, we did unadulterated disco."
Puck said, "Except for one small thing." He and the others yelled, "Disco pretty much sucks!"
In the choir room, Will's voiceover said, "We're only weeks away from graduation. Finn has talent, but not enough self-esteem. Mercedes is every bit talented as Rachel and Kurt. Santana has no focus. Puck and Brittany have no motivation. And Claire...she's great, but not confident enough."
Santana said, "Look, I just want to be famous."
In the hallway, Kurt and Mercedes were discussing colleges. A young man with a soft voice said, "Kurt Hummel? Mercedes Jones? I'm a big fan. I've seen you in all your performances, except West Side Story. I boycotted that one because you were robbed of Tony and Maria."
Kurt closed his locker smiling. "Well, hello, kind sir. I don't believe I got your name."
"Wade Adams. I go to Carmel High. I'm in Vocal Adrenaline. I know we're supposed to be enemies, but I swear I'm not here to spy. Our coach is Jesse St. James."
Mercedes said, "God, he's awful."
Wade said, "He's nothing compared to the kids at that school. Do you know how I get through it? I want to be a person I've always dreamed of being. I even have a different name: Unique."
Kurt said, "Unique sounds like a great person. I hope one day you get to have courage to be him."
"Actually, Unique is a she. That's why I want your advice. Our Regionals are this Saturday. What would you do?"
Mercedes was stunned.
Outside, Rachel was teaching Claire how to drive. It didn't really go well.
Rachel said, "Use your turn signal!"
Claire said, "That was my turn signal!" The car stopped.
"Then use your hand signal and not the one you gave me when we passed that last intersection."
Mercedes' voiceover said, "Where does Mr. Shue come off? Just because I don't want to go to New York like Rachel and star in a revival of Sister Act, doesn't mean I don't have a dream. I know what my dream is." She put on a red dress and sang "Disco Inferno" with Brittany and Santana. She said, "Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin - my dream is to be like them. To sing number one hits that inspire people. But I don't even know the first thing about getting a manager."
Will said, "The cream always rises to the top, Mercedes."
"I'm cream in here, Mr. Shue."
The next day, Santana sang "If I Can't Have You" mostly to Brittany and her love of fame. Finn still had no idea what he was going to do with his future. He was furious, but Will helped him get some ideas. So he told Rachel he wanted to join the Actors Studio with James Lipton in New York.
In another scene, Kurt and Mercedes saw Wade perform as Unique, singing "Boogie Shoes." The audience loved it. Jesse was appalled. Bastard.
Beiste said, "So, Claire, how's high school life treating you?"
Claire said, "About as well as you'd expect."
"Thought so. Hey, do you mind if we have a talk, woman to woman."
"No, I guess not."
"So, if you love a man, do you think you ought to marry him?"
"Maybe."
"There have to be some good reasons."
"A few might be."
"But sometimes, you just have to take that leap."
"Ma'am, I'm only 16!"
Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes and Santana were all singing "How Will I Know?" to honor Whitney Houston.
Will wrote Whitney's name on the white board.
Sam asked, "Didn't she have a lot of problems?"
Mercedes said, "She had a hard life, Sam."
Brittany was singing "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" with Santana. No surprise. "I love dancing with Santana, but you guys are good dancers, too."
Meanwhile, Kurt went to a records shop where he met Chandler Kiehl. "I go to North Lima High."
"We're doing a Whitney Houston tribute this week."
"Oh, my God. You have to do One Moment in Time. That song is amazing."
The next day, Rachel and Santana were singing "So Emotional."
Kurt was getting texts from Chandler. "You have a great asp," which is a type of snake. Kurt smiled.
Blaine was being extraordinarily stupid. And Claire gave a rousing rendition of "I'm Every Woman." Mercedes and Tina sung and danced with her.
In the hallway, Santana was at her locker and Rachel stood behind her and said, "Hi." Santana turned and said, "Hey."
"You know, you can tell a lot about a person by looking into their locker."
"Are you stalking me?"
"No. You know we pretty much blew it, right? Three years going at each other's throats when we could've been singing together, killing it in glee?"
"Well, we hated each other. Actually, I hated you. But yes. You're right. Our duet was a truckload of awesome, and who cares that it took three years? I mean, we still have plenty of time to do it again."
"We have 42 days until graduation. Half of that's gonna be prepping for Nationals, and that was it."
"Oh, crap. I think I just realized I'm gonna miss you. Oh, God, say something irritating so I can get the taste of this out of my head, please."
Rachel smiled, "It's okay."
"I like it when you sing, and hey, you were the only person in this school besides me who's willing to kill their best friend to get to the top."
"Not necessarily…but yeah. Will you do me a favor?" She pulled a card out. "Will you put this up?"
"You want me to put a picture of you in my locker?"
"Well, we may not be able to sing together again, but we have 42 days left to be friends." She gives it to her. "I'm gonna give you a hug. It'll be quick." She hugged her. "I'll see you in the choir room."
"Okay." Rachel took off and Santana put the photo on her locker door.
