A/N: Hi everyone! I just wrote this, cause I'm sorry but I'm the biggest todomomo fan ever. For those reading my kotlc story, I promise I'm making the next chapter- I'm just slacking off. I'll try to update that by tomorrow night! Ok, I hope you all enjoy! Sorry, if this fanfic is rushed or bad.
(Shouto's perspective)
"Hi Todoroki-san! Are you excited for the Triwizard Tournament coming up?"
Todoroki looked up from his book, unfazed by the sudden appearance of his classmate, "I guess" he replied in a bored tone.
"Oh come on! Cheer up! This is our last chance to put our names in the Goblet! Are you going to put yours in, Todoroki-san?" the girl asked, undeterred by his lack of excitement.
Todoroki gazed up once again and studied the girl more intently this time as he opened his mouth to reply. "Probably not. What about you, Yaoyorozu?" he inquired, curious to know if she would attempt it, considering how smart she was, and how skilled she was in her spells.
"Well, I don't know if I should," Yaoyorozu said, frowning. "I don't think I'm good enough, and I don't want to disappoint everyone if I get selected and don't do well during the tournament."
Todoroki's eyes narrowed as he notices once again that the girl's low self-esteem was showing through. "That's ridiculous, Yaoyorozu. You're one of the smartest and most capable students in our year. There's no reason why you shouldn't put your name in the Goblet" Todoroki said firmly, his eyes gazing intently at her.
Yaoyorozu narrowed her eyes as she heard his response. "Then, why aren't you putting your name in?" she shot back.
Todoroki pressed his lips into a firm line as he rested his face on his hand, "Look Yaoyorozu. If I put my name in, will you?" He looked up to see Yaoyorozu tapping her finger on her chin, as if in deep thought.
Then, she burst out into a big smile and nodded earnestly, "Ok, if you do it, Todoroki-san, then I'll do it too!"
Todoroki sighed as he wondered if this was really a smart decision he had just made. But when he looked up again and saw her bright smile, he knew there was no way he was going to be able to tell her no…
A couple days later during lunch…
"Hello to everyone! As you all know, the Triwizard Tournament is coming up, and I'm sure everyone is very excited for it. It'll start in two weeks, and both Durmstrang and Beuxbatons are already on their way here. They are expected to arrive in a day, and when they do arrive, we'll be opening up the Goblet of Fire for the upperclassman to put their names in!" Headmaster Nezu said, raising both his hands up in the air for an extra dramatic flair to the announcement.
Even without the added dramatic flair, the whole hall erupted into applause and cheers. And as the headmaster sat back down, everyone, the upperclassman especially, started chattering excitedly about the upcoming tournament.
"Hey, who's planning on putting their name in?" Uraraka asked excitedly as their friend group gathered around a corner of the Gryffindor table.
"I don't think I'm going to put my name in if I'm going to be honest" Deku said nervously.
"Why not, Midoriya-kun? I think it'll be a great idea to do it" Iida exclaimed, chopping his hands up and down for an added effect.
"Yeah, Deku-kun!" Uraraka agreed, pouting slightly.
"I appreciate it guys, but I think it'll be best for me not to" Deku put up his hands in apology.
"Well, I'll be putting my name in. What about you, Todoroki-kun? And you, Asui-kun?" Iida inquired curiously.
"I'm not sure" Asui said as she tapped her finger to her chin thoughtfully.
Todoroki sighed as he heard Iida's question, "I'll be putting in my name too, but only because Yaoyorozu made me."
"I'm glad you are Todoroki-kun!" Iida replied enthusiastically, his arms chopping up and down for dramatic effect.
"Yeah, I'm sure you'll do great Todoroki-kun!" Deku smiled encouragingly, Uraraka and Asui chiming in with sounds of agreement.
"Thanks everyone" Todoroki replied, smiling softly.
A day later when the other schools arrive…
(Momo's perspective)
"Look! It's Beauxbatons!" Uraraka exclaimed excitedly, pointing at a huge carriage driven by winged horses arriving from a distance.
Yaoyorozu's eyes widened in astonishment. I can't believe we're about to meet Beauxbatons students. I wonder if they learn the same material as us or if they learn other things. She could already imagine all the new knowledge she might learn just by having them be here.
A sudden nudge came from her side. "Hey Yaomomo, don't go spacing out on us there". The nudge and the teasing had come from her best friend, Jirou.
"Sorry, I'm just so excited about all the stuff I could learn from them" Yaoyorozu gushed, her eyes shining.
Jirou rolled her eyes affectionately, "I'm not even surprised anymore."
Suddenly, a loud sound came from the lake, causing everyone to direct their focus away from the Beauxbatons carriage and towards the lake instead. The lake started spiraling, as a big ship emerged from the water.
"Oh my god. Is that Durmstrang's ship?" A shocked whisper exclaimed from behind Yaoyorozu.
"Damn their ship is big" Jirou exclaimed, her eyes widening.
As they all watch the ship, they see Headmaster Nezu come up to greet a man who walked out of the ship, and a woman from the carriage, presumably the headmasters of their respective schools.
"Do you think that means the Goblet of Fire will be open after the welcoming ceremony tonight?" Uraraka asked excitedly.
Yaoyorozu nodded, "Probably. Headmaster Nezu did say it would open after Beauxbatons and Durmstrang got here."
Uraraka turned towards Yaoyorozu curiously, "Are you entering your name into the Goblet?"
Yaoyorozu flushed, "I am. I wasn't planning to at first, but Todoroki-san convinced me to."
"Ooh! I'm entering in too. I really hope someone from our friend group is selected as the Hogwarts champion!" Uraraka smiled excitedly.
Yaoyorozu smiled back, "Me too."
Later that night…
"Hello students. As presumably many of you already know, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang have arrived this afternoon for the Triwizard Tournament. Over to my right, is the Durmstrang headmaster, Headmaster Vlad King. And over to my left, is the Beauxbatons headmaster, Headmaster Midnight. Students, let's all welcome them to our school!" Headmaster Nezu stated enthusiastically. This triggered a chorus of cheering and clapping from the Hogwarts students, as many students tried to get a closer look at the students and headmasters from the other schools.
When the cheering and clapping died down, Headmaster Nezu continued on with his speech, "As many of you already know, the Goblet of Fire is open only for those 17 years old or older. I have cast a spell prohibiting those that are not yet of 17 years of age from entering the circle surrounding the Goblet of Fire, and other countermagic spells, so I suggest underclassmen do not waste their time trying to enter into the competition. You may start entering your names as of tonight, and you have until next week before the Goblet of Fire closes, and we select our champions. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will be staying with us for dinner, and after, they will be heading back to their beds to rest. I suggest you all socialize and get to know them before they have to leave. Now, let's have a toast to welcome our friends!" Headmaster Nesu raised his glass of cider, the other staff members and headmasters following suit. Everyone else in the room soon joined in, raising their glass for a toast before taking a sip and resuming their conversations.
Momo glanced at the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students nervously, taking note of their confident aura as they sat down at the tables.
"Hey Yaomomo. Which one do you think will be their champion?" Jirou asked, also looking at the other schools' students.
"I'm not sure. They all seem very confident, and I'm sure all of them are skilled wizards" Yaoyorozu replied, her eyes skimming the crowd, trying to look for any student that stood out.
"Oh, I almost forgot. You're planning on entering into the Goblet of Fire, right?" Jirou asked curiously, twirling a finger around her earjack.
Yaoyorozu mumbled nervously, "Yeah, I am. Todoroki-san convinced me to, but I'm still not sure if I'm skilled enough to do it."
Jirou rolled her eyes, "Yaomomo, you're seriously like the smartest and one of the most skilled wizards I know. You're more than qualified."
Yaoyorozu smiled shyly, "Thanks. I think I'm going to enter tomorrow night so then, I don't have time to overthink it. Are you entering in?"
"Yeah. I mean, I doubt I'll be picked, but I might as well try, am I right?" Jirou replied, grinning.
Yaoyorozu smiled back, "You're right. We should atleast try our best to be selected!"
Jirou bumped into her shoulder affectionately. "Does that mean I'm better at convincing you to do things than Todoroki now?" She teased.
"Wait what? What are you implying?" Yaoyorozu responded, blushing.
Jirou laughed, "Don't worry about it."
"Fine" Yaoyorozu replies, exasperated. She was honestly way too tired to pry anymore. This was just something she'll have to ask about later...
