Chapter 4
Rebecca had a blast at the beach, engaging in debauchery and even getting to bond with her bitch of a sister-wife, and boy wasn't that a weird term for her to use, as well as a surprise addition to the harem. She didn't expect Gloria to be so soon but it was a welcome distraction. Still, she can only delay the inevitable for so long. She had her fun so it was now time for her to explain to her brother that she technically, or rather she did get herself married.
As their car rolled up to her apartment, she sighed as she scratched the back of her head,"Ok, there's my apartment. This should be easy enough," She muttered before smiling as she turned to her man and asked, "Say, does your new son need some help with their apartment over at the Company or…?" With Gloria getting added to the harem, David became Katsumoto's son and well, it comes with perks such as getting him into the program.
Tanya looked back at her and snorted before Katsumoto spoke up, "Rebecca, you know you can just… let us handle this?" he told her as he slowly eased their ride to a stop.
"No!" She shouted in panic before she caught herself. Taking deep calming breaths, she then continued, "No, I have to do this. This is my brother here we're talking about. If someone's going to pitch the idea of him getting marked then it had to be me. He's my responsibility… and he's the only family I have." She turned her gaze away, fist clenched as she looked down on her lap. This was her idea, she was the one that suggested this yet…
She squealed in surprise as a large hand reached out to her, patting her on the head. She bit her lips before she relaxed, leaning against the comforting touch of his lover as he all but derailed her thoughts. It felt nice, putting her at ease as he told her, "You care for him alot huh?"
"No I don't," Rebecca scoffed but she was only met with skepticism from Tanya and a knowing smile from Katsumoto. Pouting, she replied, "I just don't think he'd be able to live all on his own if I leave him alone,"
With how much he relied on her and how engrossed he can be with his work and his more questionable hobbies, Pilar would definitely starve, maybe even get his head blown up earlier. She clenched her eyes as images of his brains painting the streets from a cyber psycho had her blood boiling. "God damn it, he'll fucking die without me to hold him back!" She shouted, hating how much she worried about him.
The smile on Katsumoto's face softened as he whispered, "The things we do for our siblings eh?" She looked up, their eyes meeting before they laughed together.
"Yeah…" She replied as a smile found itself on her lips. The things they do for their siblings indeed. This easy going feeling she had would sour once more as her mind drifted back to the issue at hand.
Growling, she pulled at her hair as she shouted, " Damn it all, Why is this so hard! It's just as simple as walking up to him, pitching him the idea and getting him to decide but I why am I hesitating?" She had done a hundred jobs as an Edgrunner and more close calls than she could count so why could she not open the goddamn door?
Tanya chuckled before she suddenly replied, "You're afraid of losing him," This earned her a look of surprise from both Rebecca and Katsumoto who did not expect such an answer from the girl. The diminutive woman scoffed at their looks as she replied, "While I grew up as an only child, you both have to remember that I worked as a Human Resource Manager as well. I handled a lot of cases of workers whose performance dipped due to issues with their siblings or family,"
Leaning back against her seat, she then said, "It can be as simple as disagreements or as complex as financial or health issues. Such issues can often eat away at them, hollowing them out and blinding them to the answer in front of them," Staring back at Rebecca through the reflection of the rear view mirror, "Worrying about it only makes it worse as it can fester like an infected wound. If you want my advice, I say you do it now or never at all."
Reaching over to Katsumoto's door, Tanya flicked a switch and all the doors unlocked. Looking back at Tanya, she told her, "In the grand scheme of things, Pilar is a minor character. Having him on board wouldn't change much so we can leave him be. There is nothing stopping you from visiting him later after all so the choice is yours."
Rebecca turned and stared at the door long and hard before she reached out and opened it. Taking a step outside, she replied,"Yeah… you're right. He's my brother and I love him despite how much of a gonk he is," taking a step outside and stretching, groaning as she worked on the kinks on her back.
Staring up at the apartment window, she then said, "He's the only family I have left and I'm afraid of losing him. If we mark him, he'd at least get to live as long as he wants to but… do I really want this on him? Would he even want to live that long," Death was always around the corner for an edgerunner but now, that might no longer be the case. Facing eternity, she now realized just how long it was.
She then felt Katsumoto's hand on his shoulder as her lover stood there with her with Tanya following soon after she locked the door, "Well, there's only one way to find out," He told her,
Nodding, she said to herself, psyching herself up."Ok, I can do this," patting both her cheeks and shaking her head, she set her eyes up ahead. Leading the way, she then told them "Just follow my lead ok?"
Walking up the stairs up down the hallway to the door to her house, she then told them, "Now, I'll have to warn you that Pillar is very protective of me." looking up to them, she pleaded, "It's been two days since I last came back home and he's probably worried sick by now so please, please don't cave his skull in if he does or say something stupid!"
Tanya quirked a brow at her as they came up to the door. Rebecca banged against the door, hollering to her brother when Tanya spoke up,"He can't be that stu-!" What greeted them at the door had her shutting up as the rocket of an M71 Law stared back at them.
Katsumoto reared back, his hands reaching out protectively for both of them as he stared out a disheveled and pissed off Pilar. The man looked like he'd seen better days with sunken cheeks and dark circles beneath his eyes. Despite his state though, he was harmless. Strapped with enough guns and ammo to make a porcupine proud, he was as much of a danger to others as he is to himself.
"... I stand corrected," Tanya deadpanned as she gave the man a look of utter disgust before she gave a questioning to Rebecca. She was surprised herself but she'd soon find the answer why.
As the drunken edgerunner staggered forward, eyes blazing with barely restrained anger, Rebecca would find that he both reeked of alcohol and piss. "What the fuck Pillar!" She shouted, pinching her nose at the offending smell. "I left you for two days and this is what I came back to?" She hissed out. That settled it to her mind, she was going to jam the mark up his ass so she'd never have to deal with this shit ever again.
"He…" She slurred out before he heaved, cheeks puffing and doubled over before he swallowed it back down much to the disgust of everyone. Coughing, she glared back up at him and pressed the warhead up against Katsumoto's fur, "He took you! So now I'm gonna kill this son of a bitch,"
Tanya tried to intervene, pushing past Katsumoto's hands as she cautioned, "I know your angry at my husband but maybe it's best that we all take a step back and think things through,"
This only served to fuel her brother's anger as he shouted, "You say that I should think things through but I say give me answers! Now!" With his finger pressing slightly down lightly against the trigger, he then asked,"Give me one reason, one good reason why I shouldn't pull the trigger to this rocket launcher and blow you to kingdom come, you scum sucking, cum guzzling, corpo bitch!"
"I can explain?" Katsumoto started before her brother cut him off.
"Like hell I'd let you do that!" Pilar raved, eyes twitching as his crazed gaze frantically switched between her and her lover, "You touched my sister! My little sister you fuck wad and don't think cause your more borged up than the average asshole that'll back down. Hollywood called, they said they want their two-bit ripoff of Smasher back!"
Rebecca had enough. Stomping over to Pillar, she gave him a blow on the head as she shouted, "God damn it Pillar! Stand the fuck down, you dimwitted fume huffing duffus!" This barely phased the man at all as her fist met her iron hard skull. Hissing in pain, she reasoned, "You're going to blow everyone up to kingdom fucking come!"
"That's the plan sis! I'm going to send him sky high along with his bitch" her gonk of a brother cackled as he grinned wide, aiming at Katsumoto whose faceplate dripped with digital sweat.
Rebecca had to hold back a groan as she shouted at him, "And that includes me chucklefuck!" He was thick and a bit slow but even this was pushing it for her. Her patience was running thin but thankfully, there were still some light bulbs left in the man's head.
Pillar blinked, pausing as he stared at the rocket launcher at his hands. He then reached out, measuring just how far it was from the barrel of the weapon to the man's chest and staring at the distance held between his weapon and hand long and hard. Nodding, he slowly slipped the M72 Law to his back before he quickly switched it out for a shotgun instead. "Hands in the sky or I'll blow your nuts off-!"
Rebecca was far quicker however as her grabbed her by the nose and twisted, making him drop his gun as he tried to pry her off her but she only started squeezing harder, "Ow! Ow! Ow!" He hissed out as she pulled down, making him bend down to her level, "Not the nose! Not the fucking nose! He protested before he started choking as her arms went around his neck instead.
"When I said stop, You fucking stop!" She screamed at him, rearing her head back before slamming her forehead against the side of his head. She rained slaps and punches at him as he held up his hands, begging for mercy.
She made sure that Pilar listened, roughing him up a bit to get the point across before finally letting him go after she was felt her cheeks burn having to scold his brother but that's how he always was. "I'm really sorry for my brother," She apologized as held her brother is a tight headlock, squeezing her arms around his neck tightly as he tried to speak up, "And shut the fuck up! You've embarrassed me more than enough times,"
"O-ok! I give, I give!" He croaked out. She growled at him, eyes narrowed as she waited for him to open his trap and say something smart but thankfully, this time around, he really did get his lesson. She let him go, raising his fist as he cowered under her glare. "Jeez, it's as if your his boyfriend or something," he muttered as he rubbed his nose.
All her bluster melted away at his words as she was reminded why they were in the first place. "About that…" She replied, blushing and twiddling her thumbs, "That's kinda why I was gone for two days?" she then said with a nervous grin.
Her brother blinked, rubbing his eyes as he looked at the man then back at her and then over to Tanya, confusion written across his face. "Wait, you're not tell me…" he asked, pointing his shaking hands at the three of them.
"If you're wondering, yes, your sister, my husband and I are in a three way relationship," Tanya answered casually.
Her brother would then look at her, asking her silently if this was true. She bit her lips, unable to hold eye contact as he mumbled out, "Yesshhhh no! I mean yes!"
Her brother fell down to his ass as he gaped at them. She could practically hear the gears in his head grinding away as he sat there. "No… no fucking way," He whispered before a grin slowly spreads across. With a whoop of joy, he sprung up, jumping around and cheering as he shouted for all their neighbors to hear, "Thank the lord for he is merciful! An idiot finally fell for my gorilla of a sister! I thought I'd never see the day but here I am!"
Her brother danced, clapping and jumping with joy. Normally, she should be happy but not in this case. With an unarticulated scream of rage and anger, she launched herself as she launched at him. His screams of terror and mercy would only serve to fuel her thirst for vengeance. There will be no quarters for the time of reckoning has come.

After taking her pound of flesh, they finally got down to discussion as she brought him up to speed to what had happened. From her encounter with Katsumoto, sans the details of her bedroom activity, to her subsequent recruitment to this strange "Company". Surprisingly, Pilar remained attentive for once, keeping his mouth shut as he listened without making any comments.
"So to give you a quick recap, My husband is an agent for multidimensional megacorporation that buy, sell and acquire "waifus" and "husbandos''," as well as entertainment centered around their main products" She summarized and Pillar nodded, rubbing his chin as he looked serious for once. Scratching the back of her, she then shrugged as she then said, There's more to it but that's the gist of it? "
Pilar hummed, remaining silent for quite a while as Rebecca started to sweat. She could feel the tension in the room as her brother's gaze locked on to Katsumoto. There was some silent argument with the two as emotions flashed between Katsumoto's screen while Pilar grunted. Finally, Pillar nodded as he raised his hands and said, "Like I said earlier, and despite everything we talked about, I'm still going to say that I'm happy for my sister. I do have one question though,"
"Shoot," Katsumoto replied as he leaned back against his seat.
"So you said that your company basically custom molds each and everyone of their agents, male and female, to become the perfect partners right?" Pillar asked, making Rebecca frown as a sinking realization overcomes her. As Katsumoto nodded, her brother grinned as he leaned forward and pressed on, "And those you capture can be sold right?"
"Oh my fucking god…" Rebeca groaned as she reached up and covered her face to hide the shame she felt.
Her brother then shot up from his seat and thumped his fist against his chest as he shouted, "Then sign me the fuck up!" This had Katsumoto and Tanya reeling back in surprise which only made Rebecca want to curl up and have the earth swallow her whole.
Spreading his arms wide, her brother asked, "What the hell are you waiting for? capture me and sell me already! I want my sugar mommy, or daddy cause I don't discriminate, and I want it now!"
"Did you actually listen to what I've been telling you this past hour?!" She shrieked out in exasperation, unable to comprehend how her brother could be his… well, himself! "God damn it, be serious for once in your life!" She begged him.
Pilar winced at her shout as he raised his hands up appeasingly, "Woah there, easy. I mean, why wouldn't I be serious here? Like, this is some heavy shit I'm dealing with!" He exclaimed but she could not believe it. Her brother for his part merely rolled his eyes as he admitted, "I mean, I'm just trying to stay positive her while I try to wrap my head around it all,"
Sighing, he scratched his beard as he added, Now don't get me wrong, all these scifi and fantasy stuff about the Company is hard to believe but that video you sent me waked me the fuck up. It's kinda sobering watching your head blow up even if it's in a cartoon," Her brother then pressed his finger up beneath his chin before mimicking the sound of a gunshot. Rebecca winced, mind flashing back to her brother's death. "Pow! Just like that. Like I said, Heavy shit."
Rebecca growled as she turned away, crossing her arms as she then questioned him, "Then why the hell do you have to be so pervy you shit," She hated how easy going and unflappable he was and here she was worrying about him. "You're literally asking to be sold into slavery just to get some pussy. Like what the hell choom" She then shouted as she threw her hands up in frustration.
Her brother just simply smiled as he asked him, "Would I really be me if I didn't do that?" She opened her mouth to protest yet she could not find words to say otherwise. Yes he was an idiot and pervy but that's who he was and could she really fault him for being just himself?
Nodding, her brother laughed, "Besides, I'm looking at the bright side here! There's a whole multiverse out there and countless babe's that I can't even begin to imagine. There's probably an agent in his company with an entire planet's worth of girls as his harem!" Seeing him all goofy looking like that, she couldn't help but feel a smile stretch across her face, "Come on choom, you probably know a big shot from your work," Pilar asked as he turned to Katsumoto.
"Surprisingly yes," Her husband chuckled, shaking his head as he added, "and funnily enough, her wives unionized,"
"See! This corpo doesn't sound so bad. Equal opportunity for all!" He cheered and Rebecca couldn't help herself but laugh. It was so silly and absurd yet so very much himself. It was so silly that she couldn't help but cry her eyes out.
At first it was a mere trickle but it wasn't long before the damn break as he poured her heart out, bawling as she felt her heart ache at the thought that this was really it, that Pilar was still going to leave her despite no longer slated to die.
"Now, don't cry on me here," Her brother got up and reached out to her, wrapping his hands around her. She pulled his close, pressing her face against his chest as he rubbed her back soothingly, just like how he used to do back then, "I'm just trying to cheer you up."
"You know you can just stay with us…" She hiccuped, rubbing her eyes furiously as she tried to get herself to stop crying. "Why do you want to leave?"
"Rebecca, look at me," He told her as he gestured at himself. Looking up and sniffling, she nodded, calming herself down as he finally continued, "I'm thirty years old and I haven't married yet cause you know why?"
"Cause you're a creep?" She sniffed, making Pilar laugh despite the insult.
Ruffling her hair, Pilar then said, "Cause I've been looking out for you all this time. I can't really give my all to an output if I'm a full time brother here,"
She blustered at his claims, furiously swiping at the hands messing her hair up as she fired back, "I'm the one that cleans this place up! I'm the one that reminds you to take a bath, I'm the one that makes sure you remember to eat!" How dare he? How dare he! It's supposed to be the other way around, she's the one taking care of him! She growled at him, challenging him to say otherwise.
Pilar remained unphased as he then asked, "And who the hell pays for everything? Who gets to keep everything running while you can save up for your guns and chrome?" The fire in her chest quickly died down as she tried to remember the last time she paid for the bills. When was the last time she paid for their dinner? He always did give her pocket money even after she started tagging along with them… "Come on sis, give me credit here." He told her as he gave her a pat.
Crossing her arms, she felt her cheeks burn at his patronizing pats. Growling at him in warning, she grumbled out, "Fine, but get to the point already,"
Pilar laughed as he pulled his hands back before sitting down before her. Leaning on his hand he then replied, "You wanna know why I wanna be sold?" She turned, looking at him through the corner of his eyes as he gave her his thousand watt smile. "It's because I already did my part so it's time for you to have your happy ending. It's not Pilar and Rebecca's happy ending, it's your happy ending. What kind of brother would I be if I can't help my sister have the best one there is?."
She pursed her lips, fist clenched as she asked him "But why do you have to go…" Hold back her tears once more, she mumbled, "You told me we're going to take care of each other til the end," It had always been her and Pilar and despite her doing her best to fight against what could happen, here he was doing his damn best to get away. It was unfair.
She yelped in surprise as he suddenly reached out for her, pulling her into a headlock. "Hey, nothing is stopping me from visiting you if I get myself bought. Besides, I'd be worth more as points rather than another set of guns," He reasoned as she hung there in his hold, grabbing on to him as if he'd disappear any minute now. "There's also that thing where it's kinda awkward knowing your boss is banging your sister,"
"God damn, do you really have to put that image on my head!" She spat out, gritting her teeth as she tried to bury the idea that Pilar could stumble upon her. "Didn't we agree that we don't go talking about this kind of shit you gonk!"
"Not when you're being stubborn here sis," Pillar replied with a shit eating grin stretched across his space, "Not unless you're in that kind of shit because nooo thank you! You're plenty weird enough as is sis!"
"Ew!" She grimaced, gagging as he pried herself off. Her brother? Watching her? She shook her head, burying the mental image of it as she crossed her hands over her chest and shouted, "Ok! Ok! You made your point! Just go if you want to!" Shivering, she muttered, "God damn it, I need something stiff later to get that out of my mind."
Her brother laughed as her wallet flashed on the corner of her eyes, "Have it on me," Patting her on the back, he replied "And it ain't all bad on my end. On the contrary~" Nudging her on the side, he then said, "Think about it Becca! In the face of infinity, a girl would definitely grab me!"
She smiled, wiping the tears of her eyes as she quickly pointed out "You know a dude could grab you, yeah?" She had to bite her lips as the image of Pilar screaming as a muscle bound monster of a man drags him to a room for some privacy, "I'll bet you'll regret every second of it,"
"She's not lying, you know. There are far more men in the company's roster than there are women you know and with the Company catering to all tastes, there's an agent to cater to such tastes," Tanya piped up, smiling from behind her drink. Katsumoto nodded as well, remaining quiet even as bit his lips.
The man squirmed, faltering a bit before he huffed out, "I still like my odds and do you really think a guy would want me around their girls?" The man shot up, stepping on the table as he flexed his scrawny and gangly frame. "I'm more than any of them could handle and I'm definitely the type of man that some girls need, a daddy to tame them!" He shouted as he bucked his hips.
Rebecca couldn't help herself any longer as she burst out laughing once again. "You fucking gonk," she laughed as she got up before hugging him. Her brother froze before he took his foot fof the table and hugged her back. Pressing her head against his side, she whispered, "I'm going to fucking miss you so much," There will be no more brother to wake up after this, no more Pilar to kick when he comes home with a girl nor someone to punch when she gets angry. It'll just be here this time around.
"Hah, we'll get to joke about this in a bar somewhere before you know it!" Pillar replied before she pulled her and pressed her up against Katsumoto. Pulling the bigger man and her in a tight hug, he then pointed out, "Besides, you have a husband for crying out loud! I thought you'd just adopt a dozen roomba or talk to your guns before this happened but here you are now!"
"She's your problem now!" He cackled as he pulled away and looked back at them with his smile becoming a melancholic, "Still the best problem a brother could ask though," He whispered as he looked towards her husband.
Nodding, Katsumoto then asked, "So, is this really what you want? I could undo selling you but once someone grabs you off the market, it's ride or die with them. "
"Yup! It's not like it's anything more than a marriage but you know," Pillar answered before Tanya stood up. With his palm held out, Tanya pressed the mark before a ping rang out. With a willing target, the brand sets in immediately. Pilar shuddered while Katsumoto fiddled with the setting to get him ready.
Shaking his head and blinking, he patted his cheeks as he paced in place, psyching himself up. Looking over to Katsumoto, her brother warned his man, "Take care of my sister will ya? Don't you dare make her cry or I swear I'll find a way to strangle you if that's the last thing I'll do." There was no more jesting in his tone as he looked at her husband long and hard.
Katsumoto smiled back as he held out his hand and the two shook before pulling each other to bump chest. "I wouldn't dream of it," He told her brother before reaching out and giving him a pat on the shoulder, "Good luck out there."
Grinning, Pillar raised both fists up in the air and cheered, "A sexy boss lady here we go!"
-x-x-x-
Pilar wasn't immediately sold as he still had some business to tend to. Paying some loans to close friends, sending scathing insults to enemies as well as giving everything he had on the bank to him, Pilar was going out with a bang. There were some frantic calls as well as a biker gang rolling up in the front door to stop Pilar from "taking his own life" but that miscommunication was quickly settled after everyone got the news that he's just skipping town and moving someplace else.
Of course, it wouldn't last long as Pilar would eventually get all of things in order. With a parting word of recommendation to Maine, he left the group with a smile on his face. She was almost tempted to shoot him one last time but she decided against it. Still, despite parting amicably and just being mere hours ago… she still couldn't help but miss him.
"He's really gone huh…" she whispered as the light from the passing lamp post shone across the window pane she leaned against. Holding on to a doll with Pilar's jacket, she sighed wondering if he really did get his happy ending. Looking down on the archaic copy of the phone connecting Katsumoto to the Company, she could see that he was still being auctioned off.
Her hands hovered over the undo button as that tiny selfish voice at the back of her head whispered that once he's out in the wild, it'll be a while before he comes back. She frowned as she closed the phone and flipped it over. If her brother wanted to give her a happy ending, then she'll give him one as well, "God speed you fuckign pervert," She whispered as she stared off into the distance. She swore she could still hear him cackling from all the way here.
"You know…I can probably call my sisters if they can find anything about him if you want?" Tanya offered as she looked at her through the rear view mirror. Frowning, Rebecca looked up at her in confusion because Tanya had made it clear that she was an only child. Tanya groaned, pinching her nose as she clarified, "I just call the other Tanya's sisters because it's easier and far less demeaning compared to being called a clone,"
"Ah, right right…" Rebecca nodded, remembering that there were the original templates and then there were the clones produced from said template.
Looking over to Tanya, she wondered if she was a clone but held back as that sounded like a taboo. Would it even matter if you were a clone so long as you know you are real? She knew her clones wouldn't care about her and probably do everything in their power to be the "better version". Blinking, she then came to a realization.
Tossing her doll aside and grabbing onto the back of Tanya's seat, she then asked, "Wait, does that mean I have sisters as well!?" If she had clones then they're all related because they're just here but more importantly, they were all technically her younger sisters! Grinning giddily, she grabbed Tanya and begged her, pressing her phone against the girl's cheeks, "Why didn't you tell me earlier! I could have been chatting away with my sisters hours ago! Come on, teach me! Teach me!"
Tanya gritted her teeth but Rebecca poked her in the eye. Sighing, the tiny terror relented as Rebecca would suddenly find a hand grabbing her by the face and pushing her away. "Fine, just give me some space damn it!" The girl hissed, flinching and pulling her hands away as Rebecca stuck her tongue out.
Shaking her head, Tanya muttered, "We really get her to the Company Town. Just a day there and let's see if she'd still have the energy to be this annoying."
Rebecca snorted at that. "As if a simple town could burn me out. I'm a native of Night City! It'll take a lot to impress me," She confidently replied. From blockbuster Brain Dance movies to the huge holographic display of the city, Night City had a lot to offer.
Katsumoto chuckled as he shook his head and said, "Maybe a bit late cause things are starting to heat up." Frowning, the man sighed as he said, "The series has started and it's going to be just downhill from here."
Rebecca nodded as she replied "Right, right," It was really a modern tragedy as well a cautionary tale for anyone reaching for the stars in night city. A legend rarely, with a few exceptions, ever had their happy ending, "I wonder if we can get the gang on board with this… Maine and Dorio would probably not like this one bit to be honest," she muttered. There was little that the two would want given how they were happy together. Only Maine would wish for more in the form of better chrome.
"Shit, that reminds me," She then cursed as she remembered the order that that man made from Gloria. Reaching down, she felt for the box holding the chrome as she asked, "Are we really going to give Maine that monster of a Sandevistan? LIke holy shit, that thing is huge! Is it even a Sandevistan?"
"No, It's not just a Sandevistan." Katsumoto replied as Rebecca felt the car lurched as they rounded a corner "It's way wayyy worse. No wonder the last guy that used it went Psycho," He replied.
Rebecca hissed as she found the case and pulled it up. It was long, far bigger than the usual vertebrae sized implant; a whole cyber spine made to chew through soldiers. "God damn, it's going to be one of those weeks. Hopefully, Dorio can talk some sense into him before he actually slot it in," She replied as she cradled the implant.
"As for getting them on board, we're about to find out," As he rolled the car to a stop in a familiar parking lot. From the shadow made by the barrel in the middle came out a mountain of a man leading a motley gang of misfits, her band of misfits.
Walking out of the door, she waved at them before holding up her order. "Yo Maine, I swear to fucking god if you slap this in, I'll tear you a new asshole! I don't want you turning Psycho on us!"
"Hah, as if something I used to wear would make me snap," The man fired back with a grin as he placed his shotgun over his shoulders. Giving Katsumoto a once over, he then asked, "So, what's this I heard from Pilar about a job opportunity of a lifetime Bee?"
-x-x-x
David hated everything. He hated his life, he hated how he couldn't do shit as his mother got swindled by a bastard, he hated how he was powerless to do anything because he was a nobody or rather not yet what he was supposed to be. Even then, that future was already a bust as his step "dad" already sent him away.
"Take away my future damn it! I could have turned those runners in and could have gotten myself a good reward over at 'Saka" me grumbled. Was he really that much of a love sick gonk? How fucking stupid was his other self for wearing the one thing that was clearly a trap.
The only upside was that his father actually pulled some strings and got him into the academy despite being an adopted kid. They were a colorful bunch alright and despite their less hostile stare, he was already of every last one of them. "Wait, is that a David Martinez? Sick, I thought they don't allow waifus into the training hall," one of the snot nosed kid, a nine tailed freak with black hair and fox ears jeered.
"I'm a trainee asshole!" He shouted, flipping the boy off but that only got him to laugh.
"Definitely a Martinez," The boy shouted, taunting him, "Good job on getting in the academy though!"
Muttering darkly as he stalked the halls of his new "school" (or whatever shit they call this training facility), the one thing hated about everything else was the patronizing looks sent to him by the sons and daughter of the Company's agent like he was some animal. "I'll show them all, I'll fucking be the best agent their is even if it's the last thing-!"
He reeled as he bumped into someone, sending them sprawling on the ground and sending papers everywhere. So engrossed was he that he ran into one of the staff. Cursin, he dropped to his knees and helped the woman gather their stuff. As much as he hated the student's he couldn't afford to antagonize the super powered staff as well. "Sorry, I should have looked… where… I'm…" He apologized as before he trailed off as he locked eyes with that girl with rainbow highlights,"Hi…"
The woman smiled, stealing his breath away, as she replied, "I should be the one apologizing Mr. Martinez. Here, let me fix that" Helping him stand up, she straightened his uniform before patting his shoulder, "There." Giving him a once over, she then said, "That looks fits you. Keep it up!"
And with those parting words, the woman of her dreams walked away. As he rounded a corner, he blinked as he realized he forgot to ask her name. "Fuck… I was this close," He groaned as he pressed his face against his palm.
"Definitely an Original Martinez," That same annoying fox said out loud.
"Will you fuck off!" David shouted, making the boy scamper off. Huffing, he adjusted his vest but noticed a card over his breast pocket. Pulling it out, he found a simple number along with a single name "Lucy Kushinada#3578" along with the note written, "If you need any help, just call me."
"Maybe this place isn't so bad," He whispered as he walked off with a smile on his face. There were something that he definitely like and well… this girl might just make his stay here worth it.
A/N:
I really should not forget that I have some old chapters that needs to be released. Ngl, kinda miss doing this commissioned work but is backed up rather bad by my own doing. Really should have thought things through. Would you believe this has 2 more chapters... which I should really give to vyor cause I keep forgetting.
Anyways, I'd like to thank vyor once more for making this possible. Praise be vyor cause he actually puts up with my shenanigans . Now if you want to support me or want to read some fic chapters in advance, consider dropping by either Pa treon or Ko -Fi. Without my pa treons, I wouldn't have been able to write this. Links in my bio. Also, do give Warrick some a shout out because this is his commissioned fic.
