A young Yuno panted as he ran in a meadow after his brothers."W-wait!" Yuno said before he tripped and fell to the floor."YUNO!" Naruto said as he walked over and helped a now crying Yuno scoffed at his crying brother."Your such a crybaby Yuno" Asta said while patting dirt of Yuno before Naruto bopped him on the head."Don't be mean. .lets hurry up or we're gonna miss the meteor shower" the blond said and the two brothers nodded."Ah don't worry Yuno I got your back!" Asta said, taking Yuno and Naruto by the hand as they ran up the hill.

At the top of the hill the trio and curly red-haired girl and a teenage Sister Lily who was holding a baby."Its good but. .it's so hard" Yuno whined."That's our Sister Lily" Naruto said and the girl smiled "She's such an amazing cook!" She said and Asta grinned."When i grow up will you marry me and cook for me?" Asta asked and Sister Lily just smiled."It was Father who bakes those. . Do you want to marry him?" She teased and Asta blanched."NO YOUR THE ONE I WANT TO MARRY" Asta whined.

Naruto sighed as Asta began to beg the Sister for her hand in course it came to a quick stop when Sister Lily held up her grimoire."Ya know it isn't possible Asta Sister Lily is a. .women of God" Yuno said as Naruto slurped his ramen."Hey how come Naruto gets ramen" Asta asked.

"Well you know how Naruto gets when he doesn't have ramen" Sister Lily sighed and the blond scratched the back of his head feeling ignored tackled the blond and Lily and the others laughed as the two boys roughhoused.

And then the world was covered in a deep deep darkness

Just when the demon was gonna destroy the world. . .

"He's not gonna get away with that" Asta yelled to the book as Sister Lily read to the boys."A very brave mage appeared" Lily read "The brave mage fought the demon to bring the dawn back to the world".This got the scared Yuno to perk up."And finally the mage defeated the demon and the mages light shone ever so brightly upon the whole world" Lily smiled.

"The long long night concluded and it was the dawn of our world" Lily said and Asta and Naruto cheered."The mage was dubbed the Wizard King and became a legal and all lived happily ever after" Lily concluded.

"The wizard king. . " Asta whispered and Naruto gain a thoughtful look on his face.

"Hey sister" Asta asked "Does the Wizard King still exist?" He asked and Sister Lily nodded."Yes,The title of the wizard king has been passed throughout the many generations" Lily said "All along they've been protecting us with their magic".

"It's because the wizard king that the Clover Kingdom is so peaceful" Lily smiled and Asta grinned."That's awesome! Is the Wizard King really important?" He asked and Lily nodded."He's the most important after the Clover King" she's said and Asta nodded."Okay that settles it" Asta said and and Naruto said in unison "I'm gonna become the Wizard King!" Asta and Naruto proclaimed at the same time.

Sister Lily froze and Yuno blinked as Asta and Naruto began to wrestle once again. "Sister?" Yuno asked and the nun shook her head."I'm sorry. .I didn't expected that honestly" she said."I'm going be the Wizard King" Asta growled."No way I'm gonna be the Wizard King shortie" Naruto huffed.

"I'm not that much shorter than you" Asta snarled and Naruto laughed as he ran from the angry Asta."Boys! Come back" Lily said and Yuno tugged on her skirt."It's okay Sister I'll go get them" Yuno said as he hopped the gate and ran after his idiot brothers.

~A few months later

"Arrgg why can't I use magic yet" Asta huffed "Naruto got his last month and won't stop bragging about it" Asta pouted and Lily smiled."Naruto is unique. . .I think he might be the youngest magic user in our neck of the woods" Lily ponder as she folded laundry.

"Yea well let me help with laundry" Asta said."Thanks Asta" Sister Lily said.

"So marry m-" Asta was about to said until Sister Lily cut him off with a "No".

"Mar-"

"Nope"

"Marry-"

"No way"

"Marry me please"

". . .No"

"Arggggh!" Asta yelled out as Naruto and the other approached."Yikes. . .I think you need to bash his head in a few times" The blond said before Asta tackled him."Don't start crying too Yuno" The girl said as Yuno held a crying baby."Im not" Yuno said as he began tearing up.

"Hand me the baby Yuno" Asta said "If I'm gonna be the Wizard King then I can take care of a crying baby or two" the grey hair kid said before Naruto kicked him away.

"Hey there there there there" Asta yelled in panic as the baby cried louder."Hand em over dimwit" Naruto sighed taking the baby from him and bouncing them in place."It's okay little one" Naruto said.

Hush little baby don't say a word~

God hear your cries so you've been heard~

Hush little baby time for bed~

For the sleepong angel has been sent~

Hush little baby don't you cry~

A new day is coming it's a sign~

The baby fussed a bit before going to bed with a small smile."You have a beautiful voice Naru dear" Sister Lily smiled "Where did you hear that?" She asked and Naruto brows furrowed in confusion."I don't know" he a flying broom the Father of the church and the orphanage came down.

"Naruto! I was wondering if you could do me a favor" The Father asked."Aw man i wanted to go" Asta pouted as Naruto hand the baby to Sister Lily."I was wondering if you could take this letter to mayor in the next town over" The Father asked and Naruto nodded.

"I'll take a shortcut through the forest over there" Naruto said and Lily frowned."There been sighting of a rabid animal. . surely it isn't safe" Sister Lily said and Naruto just grinned."No worries sister" Naruto said and two mirrors appeared stepping out the mirrors were perfect clones of Naruto.

"We got it!" Him and his clones said in the letters In hand him and his two clones ran in to the forest."He's gonna be great one day" The Father said before he blinked and noticed Yuno and Asta gone."Oh no. ." he said and Sister Lily officially began to panic.

Naruto hummed to himself as he walked through the woods."I love nature~ I love trees~ I love everything that's green~" he sung as he walked back home as snow began to fall around him."Jeez good thing I thought my winter coat. .should probably get back home quickly" Naruto said and before he could take another step he heard growling noises.

"Hmm? What going on" Naruto said and thale air flashed as two mirror and clones appeared."Who is there?!" Naruto shouted and a suddenly felt phantom pains in his around he saw one of his clones with one of its arms stub instead of being bloody was prismatic shards of glass.

The clone fell apart and Naruto turned on his heel going back to back with his final the shadows out came a dark wolf that tackeld the real the beast made to attack but was blasted back with green wind."STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER" Asta yelled as he ran onto the wolf was still stunned when Asta kickdd it in its came in and pulled it into a headlock.

The wolf snarled and bucked when Yuno blasted it again with artic cold wolf howled before bucking and biting down on the clone shattering up the wolf then slashed Asta across his chest making Asta bleed."ASTA!" Yuno a

nd Naruto teared up and tried to blast it with another attack but fewr made him hesitate.

The wolf sensing Yuno fear tired to charge him but Asta came and wrapped his arms around its waist."Stay away from my big brother!" Asta yelled as he suplexed the dog in a brush of quickly caught his breath and made two more clones who tackled the dog keeping it down.

"RUN!" Naruto yelled and the three boys began booking it out the trio ran for over 5 mins before Asta collapsed to the ground."Ack it hurts" Asta said his blood seeping into the and Yuno walked over and picked Asta up and began carrying him for the final stretch.

"Hey Yuno. .nice work back there" Asta panted looking to his brother only to blink in face was stone cold as he stared in the distance."Hey Yuno you okay?" Asta asked and Yuno blinked looking back at Asta."Yeah. .my bad I was just thinking is all" Yuno said as they arrived back to the church.

Yuno stared quietly as Sister Lily kicked down the door running to the took Asta and ran him over to the nearby hospital while Sister Lily chewed him out something fierce for running off.

But Yuno didn't care

He was a coward. . .he couldn't even save himself and needed magicless Asta to save his life.

When are you gonna stop being a crybaby Yuno. . .

"Today Asta. . I'm gonna protect you. .even if I gotta keep you from becoming a Wizard Knight" Yuno thought wiping the last tear he'll ever shed.

10 years later

Asta gripped his sword as a demonic aura surrounded his body."What is that grimrore and that sword" Revchi said as Asta sat the injuries Naruto against a tree."You made my brother bleed" Asta said as he picked his sword up."You little wretch with no magic power!" Revchi yelled firing off another Dance of the Potless Viper.

Turning his blade flat Asta sliced and all the chains vanished ."He nullified my magic?" Revchi said in biceps and calves bulged before he charged at the petty thief."Even without magic powers im gonna become the wizard king" Asta roared as he swung "Cause not giving up os my magic!" He yelled bring the blade down on Revchi.

Revchi was blasted through the walls and brought it down kicking up smoke."Naruto said to build up my muscle until I unlock my magic" Asta said as he held up the heavy blade "Looks like it paid off" he said.

"Asta" Naruto voice was heard and Asta turned to see Yuno holding Naruto up and both was smiling."Sorry for that scare that spell just took it out of me" Naruto said and Asta grinned."Look Naruto,Yuno I got my own grimoire!" Asta grinned holding up his book."It's insanely shabby but im gonna take good care of it for the rest of my life" Asta said.

"I guess you saved us again Yuno" Naruto said softly as Yuno helped him stand on his own."Hey Asta remember our promise that day" Yuno asked.

"Asta!" A young Naruto said as he and Yuno arrived to the room Asta was in."Yo hey guys how's it going" Asta grinned with bandages around his chest."Oh you foolish boy how could you risk your life like" Sister Lily said."I had to protect my brothers Sister. .I wasn't gonna let them get hurt" Astà said.

"Asta" Yuno whispered "I promise I won't cry no more. . .I will become the Wizard King too. .and I'm gonna protect you and everyone else!" Yuno proclaimed to Lily shock and Asta and Naruto excitement.

"Sheesh you remember that old promise" Asta said walking up as his magic sword vanished."Hell yeah. .there no way I'm gonna let you two dimwits beat me" Naruto said and Yuno sighed with a small smile on his face.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Naruto said with a wide grin before holding up his fist "Let's swear on it. . .whoever becomes Wizard King first wins!" Naruto said and Yuno sighed "You know only one person could be the Wizard King Naruto" He said but he held out his own fist and so did Asta.

"Well I like my words better" Naruto huffed

Sister Lily could only watch with tear filled eyes.

"Like a three leaf clover swear on Fate, God, and Brotherhood" Naruto said holding out his fist.

"I swear" Yuno and Asta said as their fist made a symbol resembling a three leaf clover

"Well then" Naruto smiled "Whoever become the Wizard King first. . ."

The three fistbumped with sparks of bright light on the setting sundrop

"WINS"

Hey yo!

This chapter was mostly some background so that's why I was comfortable releasing this early!

I changed the backstory a bit but still kept the pretense of Asta saving Yuno and with this Asta got some pretty sick scars

Next Chapter is Training and the Departure to the Magical Knight Exams!
